Very nice and not so honest..Went in for fluid in my spark plug tubes. Get a call from Tom. $800 for spark plug and coil replacement is what they quoted (I declined its 150 in parts for better quality than quoted...). They are next door to an auto parts store so its insane to pay that amount for parts... So their rebuttal is a flag charge for their services rendered.. Labor per hour is $200. Wouldve been nice to know before service. Didnt ask for my permission. Most shops in Arlington are about $115. Most dealerships are between $175-$225 per hour. I wouldnt recommend due to high labor rates and lack of communication. Good luck.

I worked at this automotive shop for over a year as an automotive technician, I can tell you Ive seen them take advantage of people who dont know anything about cars and sell them things that they dont need or arent broken MANY times. I called the owner out on his dishonesty in front of the other technicians and they all talk behind his back about how he sells things he shouldnt and take advantage of people, but when Push came to shove the other technicians just stayed quiet when I called him out. They all want the benefits of the money taking advantage of people, but they know its wrong. I got into this business to get off the streets and be a good man, not to screw elderly or young people over. Dont get me wrong, Tom is knowledgeable, Joey the head tech is intelligent with any vehicle and very experienced, they do good work. But Tom will take advantage any way he can slip something past someone, every time.As you know, theres nothing worse than a dishonest shop, Im not trying to do anything but keep the community aware of what Tom does.

Were they nice, yes! Did they sound professional, yes! But after spending A LOT of money I did not have to fix my car the ✔light still came on again, the whole point I went here. They offered to check it out and magically it turned off when they checked. B4 I arrived it was on and an hour later it was on. But the LOOK I got from them like if I was crazy for saying the light came on. That I will never forget. My advice is to not go here if you need a full car check up.

I called TCM Automotive Repair and spoke to Mr. Tim. I explained my situation regarding my vehicle and the issues at hand. Mr. Tim looked at my car and informed me of the cost and how he can fix it.He is an honest young man. Friendly, I thank God because, most places abuse women when it comes to fixing our cars. TCM Automotive is unbelievably dishonest. They over-charge and force unnecessary repairs. I wish I had not entrusted my car to them. Also, they post fake reviews with false positive reviews. Please read all reviews, here and on yelp, for this business. You could avoid being ripped off.

They knew exactly what was wrong with my car just from listening to my explanation of what was going on. They fixed it and it is running like a top. They overcharged me. They advertised that diagnostic test is $156. They charged me $300 and yet were unable to figure out what was wrong with the Volvo. They kept my Volvo for two weeks and then called me to come pick it up. They took everything apart and did not care to put them back. Even the battery was taken out and left on the floor of the car. I called AAA to take the car to another shop with wires hanging everywhere. It was heart broken the way I was treated. The worst professional service I have even seen of an auto repair shop. Be careful with them!

Ive known Tom, the owner of TCM Automotive Repair, since 1989. Tom is one of the best mechanics I have ever known. He uses the latest equipment and his honesty is beyond reproach. He gives accurate diagnosis of problems and guarantees his work. I recommend TCM for everybody. I consider myself lucky to have Tom as a friend. Got a car problem? Take it to Tom. I had a bad battery and they put in a $500 starter. They should have tested the battery before putting in a starter. What a big rip off

Very good experience dealing with these folks. Always open and kept me informed on what they were doing. Had them work on my SAAB, and have been satisfied on the work. They rebuilt the Hydraulic system for my top, and it was done efficiently and reasonably priced.

TCM is a family-owned business with certified mechanics that I would recommend to anyone in Arlington. They are honest, fair, friendly, and fast. Their facility is secure and unusually clean, and they even have a shop dog who stays behind the counter. Going to TCM for car repair is so much less hassle than at other places. My car has more than 100,000 miles and required several different repairs. Their quote matched others I got for most issues, and is simply a better experience. My car now runs like new.

Very dishonest. Will overcharge and inflate bills for everything. Most of the reviews here seem to have been written by friends or family of TCM Automotive. TCM Automotive charged me $977.69 for what was a $200 repair at most. The $200 estimate too is on the generous side, per one informed gentleman who said I should have come to him first. Moreover, the car was still not fixed and my coolant system needed more repairs, as they themselves told me when I took my car. Also, they reneged on their promise to repair damage they had caused while conducting the repairs. A lot of parts have been unnecessarily replaced. I say that with certainty after discussing this with a couple of other car mechanics. I wish I could also post, in black and white, the aggravation and loss of use of my vehicle that TCM Automotive caused me.

Very expensive. Broke our air filter box. Did not troubleshoot our car right the first time, after paying $ 1070. Had to have car towed back there again to pay $ 700 for what was the actual problem with the car.

When my grandmas needed repairs we could always depend on Tommy to get the work done quickly, completely, and as economically as possible. The staff is professional and personable and Ill definitely take our vehicles back anytime we need repairs!

Honesty goes a long way and so does dishonesty. TCM lied to get my business. Tom is praised a lot on these reviews, but both Johnny and Tom lied directly to me. My radiator is under warranty for LIFE, they said I could bring the radiator and theyd replace it. Then today they called and said they dont accept customer parts $108 an hour for labor. $250 for a radiator and antifreeze - nearly $550 to replace a radiator total - joke! Had they told me that yesterday, I wouldnt have left my vehicle - they knew that. So they charged me $55 for diagnostics to tell me my radiator needed replaced - hello ...... Thats what I told you yesterday when I brought my vehicle in. Its ok. I read the other reviews on how they pulled the same stunts on other customers. Word will get around (with help from me) Bad service is something everyone shares! I even gave them the opportunity to make it right by refunding my $55 and admitting they lied and I wouldnt post my experience. Guess how that turned out. If you visit this shop - you cant say you werent warned.

I just recently moved to Arlington. Took my car here for a simple repair of the heater core intake coupling. When I went to pick up my car I was informed my drivers side mirror had fallen off during the test drive. Mind you, when I took it in it was perfectly fine. I was told it fell off in front of a jack in the box. Was then told it would be 65.00 plus labor to fixed it. I then found a bunch of trash from Quiznos in my car on the floor and asked them if they used my car to pick up their lunch, I got no response. After I drove the car home, I looked under the hood to check their work and I find a flashlight and a funnel left in my car. Not a great wxpexperie, wont be coming back here anytoan soon.

They take good care of their customers, it really shows in everything they do. Incredibly helpful.

DO NOT GO HERE!! TCM has deceptive business practices!!After being charged $330 for three hours of diagnostics. I had to call to even find out the status of my car they tell me its my timing chain causing a surging rough idle. That was going to cost me an additional $1400 or more to get replaced. Tom (the con artist) convinced me that it was the timing chain and said the car would never run again unless I replaced the timing chain and all the parts associated with that.This was a complete lie. I took the car out from TCM and took it to another shop. After diagnostics they concluded there was nothing wrong with my timing chain and it never jumped time at all. They concluded it was the PCM (computer part) and cleaned out the cylinders and the cost was a fraction compared to the lie that TCM tried to sell me. The car starting running again. I decided not to change the PCM and sold the car.Before selling the car I put an additional 300 miles on it and TCM said the car would never run again.I called Tom at TCM and explained everything and gave him the benefit of the doubt and said that the mechanic was wrong that it jumped time. When I asked him why he said the car would never run again because it jumped time he said well it would not run well. Clearly he is manipulative. When I told him I will report it to the better business bureau or give me the $330 I spent for clearly wrong diagnostics, he arrogantly responded back with go ahead Ive won every report against me because no one can prove anything...... what kind of person says things like that!?
