Really friendly guy behind the counter had what I was looking for made my purchase
Great place to do business. Only place in town With 8 mm. Good price Great service.
Best place to buy ammo in Anchorage. They were the only place I could find the ammo I needed.
Great selection, good guns, I like the antiquities in the shop, like the old school blunderbuss, and ww2 camilius.
They have most of the items that are needed or wanted.
4 times trying to look and 4 times closed. Doesnt matter if its 10 or 1. Change your hours if too lazy to show up when you say you will
This is a small store. Got some .22 shells here
Always have good service here from Troy and Niels, especially today. I unintentionally screwed up a non gun order and they didnt even charge me the difference. Thank you again!
For many years I have gone to that store. Nils is like a brother to me. Why Troy is still employed there is a mystery. Rude, bad language in front of everyone, not glad youre in the store, hard to get him to do anything. I will not, like many other go to that gem of a store till he is gone. If you have any doubt I and many others are wrong, just go by there. It is a shame the oldest, and best gun store in Anchorage has become so horrible because of one employee
Troy gave me a fair price for my DPMS A15. Great guys over there! Would definitely recommend.
First this guy buys your firearm for a cheap price. Then on his website of firearms available for sale I see my firearm. That I sold to him for $400 dollars more than he gave me. He even States that the gun for sale is new a in a box. Not true when it has been fired and used. I understand you need to make a profit. But you are repping off the costumers on thinking that the are getting a new firarm when it has been used. Be aware of what you by from this guy and his attitude sucks.
Came by a few days ago and was told by the owner/worker whoever he is, to come back the next week to order the firearm we wanted because it was out of stock. Showed up the day he told us and the shop isn’t even open during it’s posted ours. No signs stating anything about holiday hours either. We waited 30 minutes past 10am and no one showed up. Great customer service....
Giving these guys 5 stars. Every time Ive gone in, they are to the point, no BS, and they have the good stuff that most of these AR-15 only/hunting rifle only stores in Anchorage dont have. Surplus ammo & rifles? Yup. Rifles and pistols from all over the world, from before WW1 to now. Small shop LITERALLY covered in guns.
I worked with Troy recently on buying a new firearm. I was looking for a particular firearm and checked with him - they were out and probably wouldnt get one in for some time. He took down my name and number. In about 2 days, he let me know that they were able to get not only the firearm I wanted but the exact model and options. Was able to pick it up without any issues after a background check and paperwork. Fantastic job!
Great little shop! Go in and tell them what your looking for and the guy behind the counter tells you what he has. No nonsense, no up selling, just heres what we have what do you like.Recently bought an AK-47 from them and it was a quick and painless process.Be warned the shop is quite crowded, but they have a wide array of firearms and ammo. Just be prepared for the claustrophobia and rubbing of elbows!
Went in to buy some ammo for my Mosin. Found surplus for $10 for a wrap of 20, but spent 20 minutes listening to him rant about political corruption. Kinda entertaining, but he sounds like the kind of guy that shouldnt be selling firearms. Either way, it was certainly an entertaining trip, and he is the only place I can buy the ammo I need.
Ive done customer-type business with them, in particular with Troy. Hes taken good care of my orders. Interesting shop, as well.
Came in expecting something different than what i got.I dont think Ive had a clerk snap at me before.I dryly attempted to explain that I wanted a Lee enfield jungle carbine in .308 and was interrupted at mere caliber with a sharp retort about how he knew the damn caliber. This combined with extremely overpriced and ancient ammo led me to purchase elsewhere.Large selection of rare guns however, so i guess if you desperately need something he probably has it.
I really wanted to do business with this place. The guy apparently owns The gun Trader on Muldoon as well but Ive been by there a half a dozen times and the Closed sign is up and the lights are off. Ive been to Gun Runners twice during business hours, also closed. Called several times, only got an answer once. The two stars are because he was freindly, but he answered Hello?. Not Gun trader or Gun Runners, just hello. I guess hes just not real interested in selling guns or running a business. Two locations that suck are alot worse than one good one. Too bad, I was itching to buy from a local shop.
Best Damn gun store in the state of Alaska. I only buy from Gun runners and there new shop on Muldoon.
I went to gun runners to buy a gun and I had a lot of questions, all my questions were answered And I never felt rushed I bought a gun at a very good price, I look forward to doing business again soon!
Worst gun shop in Anchorage. Troy, the owner, is a complete jerk and looks/acts like hes been smoking meth his whole life. There are so many better options in Anchorage. Try Great Northern Guns, theyve been around 40+ years and the guys actually treat customers well. Plus the staff doesnt look like theyre cooking rocks afterhours.
I gave these guys the benefit of a doubt, since I purchased several firearms from them and found they usually have the lowest prices. Out of loyalty, I even tolerated their long wait times (usually only one person working) and questionable customer service and recommended friends to this store. No longer. I felt I finally had to write this review.Nels, the owner, is typically pretty good about responding to e-mails for quotes and if you find a gun you like on Gun Genie, theyll handle the rest for you.Troy, who usually is behind the counter, is horrible. This most recent time, I stood there and listened as he helped another customer and specifically talked trash about me arriving to pick up a firearm before he had a chance to log it in. It got so bad I asked him directly if he wanted me to leave and come back tomorrow. Bear in mind, Im a repeat customer and I fully believe he recognized me.Troy loudly complained about how busy he was and acted like every phone call was a hassle to him (I watched him tell off several phone-in customers then talk badly about them after hanging up). While this rant was going on, conservative political radio was blasting at full volume. As other reviewers have noted, maybe they would have less of a workload / be more efficient if every firearms purchase wasnt accompanied by a 20 minute lecture on political corruption. These guys dont understand that the customer is offering to give them money for a service. The gun shop isnt doing the customer a favor by selling them a firearm. Theyre unappreciative of their customers and I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
Dont think ill ever go here again. Rip off on most of his stock and when you sell him anything hell give you 10 percent of the price of the item or items you sell him and mark it up higher than the worth on his website. And another thing everytime I go in there hes sniffing constantly like he has a line of coke draining down his sinuses. Cmon you cant be sick for the 4 years that ive visited the store. He will also ramble but honestly dont care about that as much as he ripped me off throughout just this year.
Ive been meaning to give this place a good review for a while now. I know it can get busy, especially the Northern Lights store. They opened up another store in Muldoon, which seems to be a little bit more chill. The owner Neils is super friendly and will hold a gun if you ask him to. I bought a Vepr from them for a great deal! I offered 1000 before even looking at the gun and the owner said sure. So the next day I went to look at the gun, and it was only half way converted. So I then called the owner the next day and asked if they would install a bullet guide, and he took another $100 off to help with getting it done. I couldnt believe how helpfull he was and I will continue to do business with them. Thank you Gun Runners for being straight with me. I would recommend this place! Also give grumpy ol Troy a break at the NL location hes constantly answering phones but he warms up.
Great people...2ND AMENDMENT SPOKEN WITH PRIDE !!
If youre looking for something, Troy will help you find it.
Went in to ask about a gun transfer, and made the mistake of expressing an opinion. The counter guy started ranting and raving, never let me get in another word. As I got in my truck half way across the parking lot, I could still hear him.
This is the best gun store in Alaska
Hes not a good owner
Great place
Got guns?
