When you really love milsurp firearms and when you really do not care about the way they do business, you will love this store, yes, owner never smile, not for the past three years, but he is a good guy and pretty knowledgeable, yes he is firm on everything he priced, he never budge a penny, but man the price is really competitive, nothing to complain about. Please bring more old cool guns as you did for the past three years. Thank you!

The Ammo Can is a top notch place. One of my favorite ammo stores in Anchorage.

Went there to build an AR. Guy there was patient, knowledgeable, quiet. Accidentally sold me a .308 ejection port cover, but replaced it when I went back the next day. Even kind enough to allow me to comeback the next day because I forgot the little bar that holds it in place rather than charge me for it. Little small, pretty cramped, but has a wide selection of products from ARs, AKs, and they even have the same model of gun that Lee Harvey Oswald used in the JFK assassination, which I found very amusing. Only thing I can think to improve it would be a greater selection of CCW holsters, but they seem to focus more on milsurp and rifles, and the extremely small space means they probably had to make a choice on the variety they can have. Like I said, shop is absolutely tiny. But if you are a beginner looking to get started and arent a jerk, you can do worse.

He is good at what he does I brought him in a scratched up beat gun that had every screw and pin out and was missing pieces a few days later he had it ready and when I picked it up I didnt even recognize it his price was more than read more than reasonable and I was happy to pay it, its now one of the best in my collection

I have purchased firearms, ammo and other items there and found prices to be as good or better than any gun shop in town. Availability never seems to be a problem. Staff is knowledgeable and really good at customer service, seems to understand you are the reason for their work not a interruption of it. All and all going there is a good experience and it is everything a gun shop should be. Others in town could learn something about running a gun shop.

Seems like every time I try to give this place a chance Im reminded why I dont go there very often. Yes, they do generally have good deals on ammo but the customer service is terrible. It would be nice if an employee would say hello or can I help you find something today !! Maybe even a thanks for stopping by, have a nice day . Perhaps my expectations are to high.

I didnt have a problem with anyone in the shop, the man was helpful when I was undecided on what rifle to buy. They always have that one peace no one elses has like a 9mm 15 buffer I needed.

Excellent prices and has been able to source ammo others in-town only dream about.They have kept prices reasonable while others in town swoon to fear mongering.God Bless Ammo Can!

Been popping into the Ammo Can every so often, its aesthetically a great place to walk into, friendly owner whos very knowledgeable on firearms and everything that goes with them. Bought a new Glock 17 at msrp, almost 100$ less then everywhere else in Alaska.Great inventory, great prices, great service and a great dog.

Theyre one of the few or probably even the only one that I found that sells Mosin Nagant ammo for cheap. I buy the surplus ammo and it works great and I appreciate them having it. They also got great guns and I enjoy the place.

These guys are clowns, cheap Chinese knockoff accessories, corrosive milsurp ammo and bad service. If this is what you are looking for then Ammo Can may be right for you, if you want good service and reliable products visit any of the other gun stores in Anchorage. You get less than what you pay for at Ammo Can.

The guy at the counter was nice and helpful, but they charged me $100.00 to transfer a Ruger No. 1 rifle. Had I known their FFL transfer fees were so exorbitant, Id have had the rifle shipped somewhere else. I will most likely give them zero business in the future because of the bad taste this has left in my mouth.

Great people and very completive prices. I bought a lower AR receiver from there and found the exact same thing on a discount web site for $50 more plus shipping than I spent at the Ammo Can. Ill take all my firearms business there first from now on.

Friendly Dog, staffs a bit on the grouchy side. bought 500 rounds of 10mm a while ago; will never buy rounds from them again. Every shot had to be manually eject/feed very poorly, had 2 miss fires where the round lodged itself inside my barrel, trashed the remaining 300 rounds, did not want to risk another lodged round. I will have to get a replacement barrel, due to the damage from the lodge rounds. Do not buy bulk rounds as many of them will most likely be trash/reloaded rounds.

The only experience Ive had with this place is the ridiculously low amount of money they (or should I say he) offered me for all of my ammunition. You can be sure that Ill never go by your store for anything, including ammunition, unless Im stopping by to laugh at how much more money youre selling my ammo for. I paid almost exactly $300 for all of the shotgun shells alone, much less the tens of thousands of rounds of .22LR I brought along. You lowballed me for all of that and you know it. Despicable. I hope you feel better knowing that you took full advantage of our situation. Well have fun paying medical bills with your measly $300. That was easily $1000 worth of ammo, probably about $1300.Youve made a lasting negative impression on a young and potentially lucrative customer.

These guys may seem a little stand offish to some, but it may be they are just tired of homies coming in and wanting to touch everything without ever buying anything. I have bought thousands of rounds of hard to find ammunition, inexpensive and clean GI ammo cans and I swear they are the only place in Alaska that has Keymod to Picatinny adapters!! These guys know a lot about odd calibers and gun parts, give them a try... and actually buy something....

This place is hit or miss. Ive been buying ammo here for years and they usually have a good supply of bulk ammo of various quality. They stock a ton of overpriced, low quality weapon accessories and miscellaneous surplus gear haphazardly thrown in bins. The service is usually mediocre. They mostly watch you from the counter until you ask for help. The guy thats there most often is usually responsive to quetions but they dont go above and beyond to help you or make recommendations. This is fine by me because I would be very skeptical of anything they have to say by the the junky products they stock. Do your independent research on fire arms, ammo, and accessories you see there because a lot of it is junk. The one thing I like about this place is that its one of the few places in town to source spare AR15 parts in a hurry. They usually have a bunch of the small parts (springs, pins) behind the counter.

Walked in guys sitting around listening to hate radio, No One asked if they could help you but they watched you(lol)..possibly my first and last visit.

Not very friendly staff and the selection of firearms is OK.
