They diagnosed it but it did go outside of their service area (rebuilding a transmission, they do install them just do not re-build) and recommended a different specialized shop to work with. Easy to work with, and they were kind enough not to charge just for the diagnosis.I have used Riverton Tunex and same experience other than that service was more in their wheelhouse, great people and easy to work with.

I was hoping to replace my negative battery terminal, because it was loose, and the screw was jacked up, but Kevin worked his magic in about five minutes, the terminal is tight, and it looks a lot better than before, without having to replace it.I gawked, because I had spent 20 minutes with home tools trying to fix the terminal.I asked him how much the service costs, and he said, “oh don’t worry about it.” Awesome service.

I like to do my own repairs and maintenance. I have a mechanic 20 miles away that I really love and trust for stuff I dont do. HE recommends these guys for stuff he doesnt do. Theyre great for suspension issues. Ive used them many times, and have loved their work and prices.

I went in for a before purchase inspection of a car. They got me right in and started on the inspection. The guy was quite helpful and gave me all the details he saw about the car. He was helpful with advice, and what he knew about the car.

They are amazing! I don’t know why but they always go above and beyond - staying open to get us in, only charging what’s low and in our best interest, and I’ve never had something go wrong prematurely after they fix it. I’ve never seen better service.They were honest and let me know when they didn’t have the best expertise, e.g. for complicated procedures, Prius problems, etc.

I can always count on the guys here to find the problem with my vehicles and get it fixed at a decent price! I had a problem with my car recently which was a pretty quick fix, but they were already nightmarishly busy. I bought the needed part, and one of the mechanics helped me with it anyway rather than make me wait a week before they had an opening. Pretty awesome if you ask me!

This is my favorite auto repair garage. I worked in a auto shop during college and am familiar them.My first word for Kevin and Craig is integrity. After 10 years I have never been pushed to make a repair I didnt need. Having a mechanic you can trust is invaluable.Kevin can fix anything, we got in an argument about a power steering pump years ago. He was right. His effective troubleshooting saved me a bunch of money!I had an expensive repair not long ago. While he had the front end apart he tossed on new brakes without charging me anything! Weve been to this Tunex about 4 times since we moved here a year ago. A friend referred us to them, saying they are honest, have competitive prices, and great service. They have never told us anything needed to be done that didnt. (My husband knows enough about cars to tell.) We have never had a problem and have been pleased with each service. Recently, we had Emissions and Inspection done somewhere else because of a coupon we had. They told me the brake pads/shoes were worn too low and didnt pass inspection. When my husband, who has replaced our brake pads before, checked the wear on them, he found that they were not nearly as worn as I had been told. I took the car into the AF Tunex for a free brake inspection, and they showed me that the pads measured fine(low but not too much), didnt need to be replaced yet, and shouldve passed inspection. We were able to get it all resolved there and take care of registration. I was so grateful for their honesty and helpfulness. We definitely recommend this shop!

Car battery was dying on me, took it to this shop, left it there all day. At the end of the day my battery was recharged and good to go. Was able to get the car home but then **surprise** it wouldnt start. Took the car to a real mechanic in Salt Lake and they replaced the battery and solved the problem. 0 out of 5 stars.

I was referred here and was skeptical. I had a very exemplary experience. They couldn’t get the problem completely fixed without replacing parts I couldn’t afford but they did so much to help me and get me back on the road.

My check engine light was on, and I needed to get it fixed to get my car registered. They went the extra mile to locate the problem, and I felt really confident about their work. I will continue to go here for amazing service!

Wish I could give more stars. My wiper fluid wouldnt come out so I took it in and 3 guys had to work to unclog them, it took a while too! When I asked how much they just smiled and said it was free. I feel they honestly tried to diagnose my cars hard starting issue, but they didnt. They didnt offer to refund my money either. Dont take your vehicle in unless you have a definite problem that has a related code.

After having trouble with another local shop I decided to take my vehicle here and was pleasantly surprised at how honest and affordable they are. They even went above and beyond to take care of an issue I had and despite having trouble solving the problem, they kept to the price they quoted me in the begining. I do most of my own work but sometimes I need help solving technical issues and need a trustworthy shop I can rely on and these guys are definitely the one. They are also very fast and I was able to get my car back the very next day.

Our radiator was leaking pretty fast, but I could not tell from where. They were able to figure it out quick. They also brought me into the garage to show me what they were talking about. At one point I was not in the waiting room, so they took a picture of it on their phone to show me later. They gave me the bad part so I could see what had happened.

Ive brought my vehicle into this location on three or four occasions. Most recently 8/28/15. Craig was very helpful and even gave me a ride back home, since the repair was going to take some time. My favorite thing about Craig & Kevin is their honesty. On two separate visits, Craig put my car up on the lift and showed me exactly where the problems lay and explained to me what needed to be done. I never doubt their quotes or suspect anything listed on a bid, other than what is necessary to keep my vehicle running smooth. I would recommend them to anyone needing car repairs.

I took my car in on 2/18/2011 because my clutch cable had snapped the night before. They were one of the few shops open on saturday, and when I called them, they instantly made a spot to fix my car the next day. That was beyond convenient. After going to get my car back from the shop, they made sure to notify me of other issues that may need to be fixed soon, which I appreciate. I paid, and was on my way. The car has NEVER run this good, EVER. It is an older car, and I just assumed it ran kind of shoddy due to its age. Now it feels like I am driving a BRAND NEW CAR. it was amazing. I had to call all of my family to tell them how wonderful it felt driving my old beater. I dont know how they made it that comfortable, but Tunex has my business forever.

I have been going to this Tunex for several years. I keep going back because I have always received good service and a reasonable price. I particularly was impressed this last time. I am selling my car and got my oil changed at the Acura Dealer where I bought the car, because it is free. I asked them to make a checklist of things that needed to be fixed. They listed a few problems that were going to cost several hundreds of dollars. I decided to go to Tunex to get the work done. They lifted up the car and had me look at the items the Acura dealer had listed. They showed me what the dealer was referring to and explained why it did not need to be done. They tightened a hose clamp while they were under the car. I went in planning to pay $500 and drove away paying nothing. I think honesty like that should be recognized.

Honest mechanics are hard to find. No exception here.I took my car in because the AC did not work. After looking at the issue they told me that the condenser had a hole in it and needed replacing. They gave me an estimate of over $400 to fix it.I later decided to see if I could validate their diag myself. I got some refrigerant with dye mixed in and fed it to my ac system. I was able to see that the leak was at connection to the low pressure line. I replaced the O-ring on the connection and leak gone. They tried to get me to pay them $400 for a bad O-ring.They tried to take advantage of me but failed.

They did a great job of tuning up and fixing my van. Reasonable prices, very friendly staff.

Too busy to offer basic customer service. I called and asked if they can help me with a basic question. Over the phone the tell me to come over. Not more then 10 minutes later, when I arrived they were completely put off I was there and said they couldnt help me till monday. Was very rude, and I cant believe they have a business.

These guys were so helpful -- literally went way out of there way to help me when I was in a jam. My vehicle wouldnt fit the car carriage that I had rented from Penske, and I was freaking out (long story). I asked them if there was anything they could do: they looked at my car and car-carriage and found that since the car had been lowered, the bottom would scrape against the car carriage.After some brainstorming, the head mechanic came up with an idea to make it work for me (he put the car on some 2x4s for a lift). Afterwards they put my car on the carriage and secured it for me.All this took about 30 minutes and they did ALL of it for free. I am no longer in Utah County, but if I were in Utah County, I would always go back to these guys. They really went out of their way to help me out. I am very grateful for their hospitality.

I recently had to take my car to do Safety and Emission. It was a new car and I didnt know much about it. I was a little worried that due to my lack of knowledge they would try to take advantage and sell me things which I didnt need. They got the job done in the amount of time they told me they would get it done and did it perfectly. I even had a friend who said that if there were any concerns just give him a call and he will straighten things out, that way I didnt get over priced. They did what I asked them to do and didnt try to sell me anything at all. In fact, I had to be the one to ask them if there were any known issues or concern for my car and the guy was really honest and explained that everything seems to be going well. All of them seemed like hard workers and were very helpful. Ive never had better car service than that.
