Love it. Stopped here for a quick bite. Set up like an old school diner. The food was good and fresh and came quick.I had the fried chicken & waffle (half chicken was too much) I requested chicken tenders instead. A pleasant surprise was that it came with Strawberry 🍓 butter!!😍 the tenders had a nice crisp and the waffle was okay.My friend had the egg combo which she really enjoyed! Overall a pleasant experience 😬

Staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. The restaurant is very crowded. A couple less tables could make the place feel a lot more comfortable while trying to eat. It is not a lot of fun eating when waitresses keep running into you.

This place was excellent. We got there 10 minutes before they closed on a Monday, but they still seated and served us happily. Seriously, the service was great. The food was delicious as well. From the waffles to the shrimp and grits, to the smothered chicken or the beef tips, it was all wonderful. And it was a nice atmosphere too. If we ever pass by again well definitely stop in at the Metro Diner.

I had the biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs and home fries. Food was out quickly and was delicious. The service was fast and friendly - cant get much better than that. It was my first time in here, but there were so many good choices on the menu, Ill be back to try more. Definitely glad I decided to stop in!

Carry out/doordash orders are typically messed up. If you get chicken and waffles, they will forget your strawberry butter and syrup. This has happened on 3 different occasions - despite me asking to make sure they include these things. I never have an issue when dining in, their carry out service needs improvement.

Just had breakfast here. I waited 20 minutes just to be greeted by a server after being sat. The hash browns are way too greasy. The eggs were good and the pancakes were great. And then I had to wait another 20 minutes just to pay my tab so I can leave. Overall I cant give them more than a one star based on this experience

Croissant sandwich was bland and not worth it (only 2 bacon slices on the bacon egg and cheese) but everything else was good.

My family decided to order DoorDash tonight for dinner and we have heard great things about this diner. It was great! Food was still warm by the time it was delivered and even my picky 2 year old loved every last bite! We will be back to try more! 10/10 - will definitely let friends and family know how great the food is!

Ive dined in at Metro before, but I just had to leave a review after getting a curbside order tonight. In my experience, usually when you order carryout at a restaurant, you should not expect it to be as good as if you were eating inside. I was so pleasantly surprised! My food was done quickly, and the customizations were correct. I called the number on the sign to let them know I was there and as I was hanging up there was someone already walking out with my food. The gentleman was super friendly and I just had a really great experience. I will definitely be going to Metro again for both dine-in and carryout.

We visited on my birthday. I had the shepherds pie, it was served very quickly, was hot and fresh from the (oven,salamander?) And best of all was totally delicious!My wife had the French dip with seasoned fries, again hot, fresh and delicious. The staff were all friendly, efficient and engaging.Will definitely visit again!

My wife loved the protein breakfast, and my western omlet was packed with delicious ham, green pepper and cheese. The sauce gave it a little spicy flavor that was great. The service was super friendly and prompt. We liked the coffee too!

It’s where the locals eat is what the sign said. Had a salad and a sandwich. Salad was fresh and crispy, sandwich was tasty. Service was good. I would definitely go back.

Best breakfast food across the Mishawaka/Elkhart/goshen/southbend area hands down!! I’m very mad at myself for just now trying this place out, I’ve been missing out this whole time! Highly recommend the chicken and waffles. I really don’t think I’ll be eating breakfast anywhere else after this ❤️

The food is always great here, but its almost always warm, and JUST warm. I like that they have great options to choose from, but I dont like that they do not advertise those options all day. They serve the entire breakfast menu all day, but if you go to eat after a certain time, the breakfast menu presented is limited for some reason. In my opinion, breakfast is the best thing to get here, so it really frustrating seeing the best part of my experience (the breakfast menu) here disregarded.The service here has always been bad. Im not sure why, but the servers have always seemed reluctant to serve me, my friends and family. There have been times when I have audibly heard the servers arguing over who has to take care f us and its very, VERY disheartening. Luckily I come for the food and not to be respected by the servers. My last experience, I was sat and watched as two servers saw me get seated by the host (who was quite nice) and both of whom ignored me. I was sitting there so long just looking around that the host who sat me had to go tell one of them to assist me. The woman there actually turned, looked at me and rolled her eyes.... Id never seen her before in my life, so that reaction really surprised me. In the end, the other male server helped me, though he seemed really reluctant.The food was great, but still not hot enough to call hot. The portions were so large that I was able to eat another meal for breakfast the next day.Overall, Im not going to stop going to MetroDiner, I just wish the food were hotter and the staff werent so blatantly rude.P.S. as a server myself for several years, I always tip 20% or more, so the excuse that Im not a good tipper based on nothing but my looks doesnt sit well with me.

This will quickly become a go-to restaurant once you eat here. Portions are large, food tastes great and the staff are incredibly friendly. Expect a wait during peak times as this is not a hidden gem. But the wait is worth it.

Food is amazing. Kids love it, always finish what they order. Wait staff is attentive and courteous. A bit pricier than some places, but their menu, portion size and quality more than make up for the few extra dollars spent.

This place was pretty good. My husband and I came in on a Saturday around 11. We were seated right away, but it took a little long for a server to come over to us and take our drink order. However after we put our food order in, we were impressed in how fast we got our food considering how busy it was. The menu had a good variety, and the food was decent, a little bland but still good. Overall a positive experience. Wed recommend it for sure.

This place is just something special to this area. I honestly dont think you can go wrong here. Every dish I have had has been wonderful. If you like chicken and waffles, but have never tried them together, order it here. The chicken is well seasoned yet not over salted and the waffle is perfect. Great prices and portion sizes. Order the bread pudding or chocolate cake for dessert if they are available that day. (If you dont know what bread pudding is just take my word for it. Its great)Service is always friendly and timely. Servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and can always recommend something for first timers. But like I said, cant really go wrong here.

We come here all the time! But today we received the worst service ever!! They said it would be a 15-20 minute wait. I asked if we can sit at the diner which is where me and my daughter always sit and just so happened there wasn’t anyone sitting there. They said you will still have to wait. 25 minutes later we check back in. She said it’s going to be longer. I said you told us 20 minutes and now we are waiting longer. Can we just sit at the diner like always. The lady said no. I said there’s no one over there. She said you will still have to wait. I said the last 15 times I’ve come here they seat us at the diner as soon as we walk in. I called to speak with the manager and they put me on hold for 10 minutes saying they are extremely busy. To busy for a customer who is upset with your service you can even answer to figure out the problem? We will never come to this restaurant again!

I dont remember the waitress there but we came to this restaurant Saturday morning, it was my second visit there. They were extremely busy and the waitress came to the table to get our drinks and I asked if we could order our food she was so busy she said she had to wait until she got drinks for another table first and then she would come back. I watched her as she took care of four tables all at the same time, ours included. She was very fast, and very efficient, very friendly and outgoing. You have an excellent waitress, she was very attentive to any of our needs at all times, and never let our drinks go empty. Now Ill talk about the food excellent everything was absolutely delicious we will definitely be back time and time again Im sure. When you see a busy restaurant you know they have good food, but to actually experience good food with great service it was definitely our pleasure. If I could give you a 10-star rating I would. 😁

Here visting from H-Town Texas and I just had to put pause on eating to give my raves. The chicken and waffles with strawberry butter is amazing. The waffles literally melts in your mouth. The strawberry butter is perfect with fresh strawberries. Now as a aouthern girl I judge my chicken by seasoning more than the crisp and the seasoning was on POINT fron the crust to the meat! I have been here a handful of times now and have ordered a new item each time. Everything has been great. Chicken and waffles, meatloaf, eggs benedict, among other things. Its always busy but its still quick to eat. Im impressed.

Tried them for the first time, today.Arrived shortly after noon. The place was packed, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table for two.Our server attended to us almost immediately after we were seated, and our order was brought to us within a ten minute timeframe.The food was “ok”. On a scale of 1-5, I’d give them a 3.5 for food quality. (This is just my tastebuds’ opinion. There’s nothing wrong with the food itself. It just didn’t meet my palate’s expectations.)However, I’d give them a 5 for service. The place looked fully staffed. We were seated within 10 minutes, attended to promptly, received our food after only a short wait and our server was very nice.I don’t know if I’ll ever eat there again, but I would encourage trying this place for yourself and come to your own conclusions.

I’ve always enjoyed going here, I never typically have a problem and I always recommend for my friends and family to go here. However, now I’m starting to think different. The food is still great and decently priced but the customer service here is what is beginning to turn me away. I’ve worked in restaurants so I understand what it’s like to be busy, trust me. I went in and there was a wait so I put my name and number down but never received any texts or calls to alert me when we could be seated. Next, when we sat down our waitress didn’t even introduce herself, just asked us what drinks we wanted. After that things were okay, but when she came back with ketchup she just slammed it on the table and ran off. We never got our drinks refilled until we were about to leave (by the way we had to wait forever to even see our waitress again after she brought us our food. She only stopped by once to drop the bill off, but that’s all she did, stopped, didn’t say anything, set the bill down, and left.) I really enjoyed coming here but the customer service is starting to go down. I feel like I’m not welcomed there anymore. It’s sad.

First trip in recently. Had a Philly steak for lunch, wife had a BLT. Both meals were great. Next time we are going for Chicken and waffles or biscuits and gravy, both looked great walking by the table. Wait staff was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. What a great place!

We really liked this place. Large portions very nice staff. The reason for the 4 stars was because of how dry the food was. I got a Philly steak sandwich and by the time you got about three bites in, it was over run with the taste of meat and nothing else. Its needs more cheese or mayo to balance it out. My wife got a cheese omelet and the cheese was clumped. Not melted, clumped. So it was really dry. But other than that we really liked it.

I have nothing to say about the food Bc for the third time now I’ve shown up and put my name in.. wait was for 20 min and 6 people in front of me.. after 20 min it was 12 people in front of me due to “call ahead” patrons and now up to 45 min wait. Not as good as other reviews reported.Strawberry waffle was plain. Nothing but a waffle and pieces of strawberry. No strawberry topping at all and we had to ask for whipped cream. The hash browns were undercooked and just a greasy mess with no flavor but grease.I watched a waitress wipe off a table and just push the mess onto the floor instead of picking it up with the cloth! The same waitress cleaned up another table and when walking away trash flew off the plate and she never picked it up!And no social distancing at all.We were probably two feet from the people next to us!We definitely wont be back!

Normally Metro is fabulous but on 5/31 the service and food was off. The toast came out old and so did the sausage patties. Our waitress didnt know what she was doing and seemed to not care. Had to ask for a coffee refill and then she acted like it was an inconvenience.

Hey Metro Diner...I didn’t order blackened home fries today, but I was served over done home fries that were not edible. When I told the server he offered fries, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese....really? My all meat omelette was wonderful, but your home fries are awful & your choices, without an up charge, are very limited. Won’t be back!!

Breakfast for dinner!Ok it was my choice & I made a good one. I had the Bissell special. Eggs, hash browns, crispy bacon and a 3 stack of the best pancakes Ive had in a long time. Ill be back.
