Our move required pickup at two separate locations before making the transport from northern Virginia to Florida. The staff at Georgetown Movers were great at explaining the details of the services they would provide and the pickup and delivery schedule. More importantly they provided constant communications throughout the process. The driver and crew handled our furniture as if it was their own. They were careful, quick, courteous, and professional. We were very pleased with the service and would request them again if another move is needed.

Amazing!!! These guys are fantastic. I had a 2 pm job scheduled with them. They called about 1 pm to let me know that they had finished their first move earlier than anticipated and asked if I was interested in starting sooner. This helped to alleviate some stress as I had a 2 bedroom move with a lot of items so I was already concerned with timing. When the crew showed up they were all so kind and introduced themselves.Once they began, they disassembled all of my furniture, and wrapped all of it in blankets. I was so thankful for the care that they took. My grandmother left me a antique china cabinet with glass doors. I told them that I was particularly concerned with this piece as it had a lot of sentimental value. The crew chief Ricardo said that he would personally wrap it. He covered all the glass with cardboard then wrapped the entire piece so perfectly. I was honestly in awe.During the move the elevator in my building broke down (of course something had to go wrong!). The men had to carry all the items down from my 4th floor apartment. For anyone who lives in DC, you know how narrow these stairwells can be. I was terrified that my over sized couch wasnt going to fit around the corners in the stairwell. Low and behold, it didnt. However, the crew made it work. Between the 3 men, they were able to lift the couch over the waist height banister and pivot at the same time to make it clear the banister and walls. Again, I am in awe.The movers got all the items out, we settled the bill and they brought all of my items back to their storage facility where they remained for 6 months while my condo was being renovated.At the move out, I called the company and spoke with one of their office personnel which are honestly just as fantastic as the movers. I explained that the floors had just been refinished and numerous projects done within the apartment. The office eased my concerns and told me that additional protective coverings would be brought on the move date.When the movers arrived it was just like the move in, the crew all introduced themselves, they asked where I wanted items placed and they got right to work. Luckily, the elevator did not break down this time! The men were so fast but so careful with my belongings. I will continue to use them over and over.

The men that came and moved were EXTREMELY friendly. They were on time and took/put everything exactly where I needed. Everything came in perfect condition. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I hired them to move my possessions out of my apartment in DC. They called me the morning of my scheduled move and said they needed to reschedule for the following day because one of their employees was sick. The following morning, they called me at about 10:30 (move was scheduled for 12-1 PM) and said they were not coming at all. When I asked for compensation, they told me to read my contract. My husband and I had to rush around and rent a UHaul and move most of our items ourselves. Unbelievably bad experience.

My wife and I used Georgetown Moving and Storage Co to move our daughters belongings to her new apartment last year and they were very good. I had called a number of places and they were the only ones who could accommodate the date we needed. They arrived with plenty of men, who were all strong and careful with the furniture. The stuff got to the other end in perfect shape and it was all very reasonably priced. Great moving company.

Movers were amazing, it was a release when they started to getting my stuff of my apartment quick and so professional. You can spot pros quickly. Move took few hours, all easy and stress free. Highly recommending Georgetown Moving, really good team of workers and good, easy to understand quote.

Worst company I never had the Managers are very rude this is for anybody who is moving don’t get Georgetown movers go to interstate van lines they are way better. If I could rate my move it would be a 0 I experience way better dealing with moving companies before.

Terrible company. They forgot to pack my dishes from one of the drawers and stole my very expensive pair of Louis Vuitton shoe. Already filed a police report, will not deal with them again.

AWFUL, LIARS & SCAMMERS, BUYER BEWARE, BAIT and SWITCH, STAY AWAY.First of all let me start by saying that I have never been someone to write reviews on anything or anyone. I dont like making anyone look bad. But the experience I went thru with this company left me crying hysterically and the company did not care or bothered to do anything. I called multiple times to speak to the manager but Alexander and Ashley claimed the manager was not there or on vacation. If I can give this company zero stars that what they would receive. This has been the worst moving company I have ever encountered. I am disabled veteran with many health issues and needed their help, but they took advantage of me.1. Failure to Gather Info Properly: Alexander failed to update my order when I called to let them know I had more boxes and items than expected. The movers arrived unprepared and had to call a third guy that supposedly was on his way but never showed up. To be clear the mover called the company to let them know the situation and I requested a third mover that never showed up.2. Hour Wasted on Personal Calls: The first hour of the move the moving manager spent an hour arguing on the phone with his supervisor about having his pay docked, needing to leave early for a doctor’s appointment and making other persona phone calls. Mean time there was one mover doing all the work even thought I was paying for two3. Bait & Switch Tactics: Being that Alexander failed do his job correctly and failed to properly report the amount of items I had I ended up needing more storage vaults than expected. I was okay with paying with what was needed. The moving manager called the office in the morning to get me the prices on additional storage vaults. Ashley their operation manager said I can have each vault for $55 dollars, which I was okay with. At the end of the move the price went up to $ 75 dollars after I agreed to the $55 dollars. I called to talk to someone and I was stone walled, there was no one available, no manager, nothing they can do, no military discount anything.4. Movers Took Their Time: The movers took there sweet time moving my belongings. I was so desperate I started to help move my own belonging down to the truck even though I shouldn’t of been moving anything with my bad back, neck and shoulders.5. Total Bill: My total bill to move a 1 bedroom apartment, store for 3 weeks came out to be more than two times as expected, almost $ 1400 dollars.6. Time to Stuff Out of Storage: I went to the company in person in hopes that I can find a customer service oriented person I can talk too about my experience. I was able to talk to Ashley and she didn’t care. She was cold, un-apologetic and un-moved. I was in tears recounting my experience and frustration and all she cared about was charging my card again. (Nice ppl huh)7. Legal Robbery: Finally when it was time to move my items out of storage. The company charges another $ 400 dollars to allow you to remove them. Yes you’re hearing correctly. After I paid $ 375 to have them placed in storage you have to pay another $ 375 to get them out.8. Nightmare is Not Over: At this point I just wanted to be done with this company. I get a message from my credit card company that my card was charged in error five time….yes they ran my card fives time and had to correct it. No I have to wait another 5 days for the mess they created to clear.9. BBB Complaint: After this long review I will be filling a complaint with the better business bureau. This company should not be allowed to operate in this manner, using bait & switch tactics, very small print on contract and surprise fees. This company is unethical and ppl need to be warned.

Great and reliable

Absolutely appalling and horrific service. The movers broke multiple pieces of furniture and tried to hide it from us (see the photo of my dresser with the leg taped back on). Nearly every box contained broken items - many of which cannot be replaced or claimed under insurance. My bike was dropped twice when being unloaded from the truck, bottles were packed upside down and spilled destroying other items, art wasn’t wrapped and was packed in a suitcase and all of my plants were smushed and killed. And the movers were late. When I attempted to raise these issues with the company, they did not return any of my phone calls and were generally unresponsive and unhelpful by email. Do not hire Georgetown Moving and Storage!
