I couldnt recommend these guys more! I spoke with Riley and he helped coordinate the move. They were on time, fast with packing, wrapped all of my mirrors and wood furniture and delivered them to my storage unit all without a single scratch. The guys were very polite, and worked quickly. I had moved the contents of a two bedroom condo into two storage units and the guys packed everything inside the unit very efficiently. Nothing crushed and everything organized. I was nervous about moving things since I have a lot of antique furniture and these guys handled everything with care. Will be using them to move into my new place, and will be recommending them to friends.

This is the first time in my life that Ive had a final bill for moving come in at the same price it was quoted. This was a local move, within Virginia.The quote process was painless and completed through a virtual walk-through. The person handling my quote was very responsive and transparent about fees and charges.On the morning of the move, the team arrived on time and communicated while on their way to my pick up location. The crew did no stop working for a moment and completed the move earlier than expected. Absolutely recommend. We have used this company several times now, most recently to move my father into a different assisted living facility PLUS all his stuff in storage to a new storage unit. There were multiple stops and locations to work with, plus I got lost trying to find one of the storage units and Ernesto was a dream - he found me at a random intersection (he ran out of the truck and found me on foot!) and helped direct me to the right address. Really amazing group.

The team worked well together, openly communicated, cared for our items and were personable. GREAT FROM START TO FINISH! I made an out of state move and due to work obligations was unable to be present for Moving Day. The fact that I personally would not be there increased the stress levels. The guys can, saw, and conquered a 4 bedroom 3 level house without a problem. As an added bonus for me, they beat the target estimated time; FANTASTIC! We have used Two Men and a Truck 2 times now (our friends used them and recommended them to us) and we could not be happier with the service. The gentlemen that show up are professional, explain everything, work non-stop from beginning to end, took great care of the home while moving some very large items down 3 flights of stairs. They did this in the middle of July with temperatures around 95 degrees and they didnt stop. Finished the move in record time and I was charged less than I expected. Mostly because the gentlemen literally didnt stop - even in the heat! I will use them for all of my moves and recommend them highly!

Three phrases best summarize my experience with Two Men and a Truck of Alexandria: broken furniture, untrained movers, and irritable movers.From the start of the move, the movers were irritable and expressed a strong desire to finish the job and to just “get it over with.” The movers bickered amongst themselves about how to complete the job as well in a way that made me uncomfortable. As the move progressed, it became obvious that the movers may have had a late Halloween evening the night before and therefore were not feeling up to task. The foreman apologized multiple times that the two movers were “untrained” and “new”, which confirmed my belief that the move was not going well.While moving my new bed into my apartment, one of the new, untrained movers decided to cram my bed into an elevator in an effort to quickly finish the job. As a result, the headboard and bed frame of my new white lacquered bed was scraped profusely throughout. When I discovered this issue, I brought it to the attention of the movers who tried to convince me that the bed had been in this poor of a state before I moved. Obviously, accidents happen when moving, but Two Men and a Truck’s way of resolving this issue was to pay me $90, when the brand-new bed had a value that exceeded the cost of the entire move. The manner of resolving the damage to my furniture reflected that the movers not only lacked necessary training, but the company is severely lacking in customer service and general good business practices. Even your basic cleaning service would replace items broken during a service without resistance.I move frequently and have always used a franchise of Two Men and a Truck for each move. After this recent experience, however, I will not be using them again.

THE BEST!! Customer service was excellent from the start. The agent, Elisabeth was knowledgeable, patient and polite, and proactively sought out information regarding all my inquiries. Id mentioned how my previous moves (with a different company All Roads Express) were each a horrible experience. Elisabeth noted this in my file, and every step of the way TM&aT reassured me this move would be a success. Clint (point of contact) reached out just prior to the move to prepare me with what to expect and confirm inventory, again polite and knowledgeable, and followed up during the move to ensure it was going well. The two movers, Jamar and Jim, were superb! They were on time, patient, polite, knowledgeable, thorough, and wasted no time in the process of my local move from a storage unit to a new apartment. They wrapped/protected my furniture very well, transferred it with caution, and completely unwrapped and arranged the furniture to my liking, then got rid of all the trash before leaving. They wore their masks correctly the entire time, communicated professionally, and took the time to answer all of my questions. No damages to my property, nor to the buildings. Paying was easy on their tablet, no check needed. I couldnt have asked for a better experience! My roommate moves in in a few months and we will DEFINITELY be hiring Two Men and a Truck!!

Alvin and Darnell were wonderful. They got me moved out and in much quicker than I expected. They were very courteous and made moving a breeze. I have hired TMT four times and they have always delivered quality service at very reasonable rates (at or below their quote). The most recent move was by far the best. Nick, JD and James were exceedingly careful with my belongings and always cautious of brushing against walls with bulky items. They also creatively problem solved some space issues and managed to make it all work. My new place looks great and its off to a wonderful start thanks to them. Great company all around.

What should have been a very small and easy move turned out to be not so great. In dealing with the office staff, they were very professional and courteous. Although the drivers were nice enough they didnt seem very experienced.My new table has scratches all over it. They lost a screw to my head board for my bed and did not say anything about it. I had to find out on my own. I completely agree with Natalie Zink. (The review before mine) The resolution was to offer me 60.00. Sad to say, I would not recommend this company.

We used this company 20 years ago to move into our home and we were just as pleased with our recent experience -- moving out our heavy furnitue (including an upright piano) and an oversized wardrobe, storing them and returning them after our floor refinishing was complete. Every step of the process was easy from scheduling to the final payment. They were pleasant, on-time and professional plus the cost was fair. It is obvious that they hire people who like what they do and take pride in a job well done. We will definitely use them again.

I hired Two Men and a Truck to help my roommate and I move, and we couldnt have been happier. Booking was super easy and transparent, and there was ample communication from the office and the move team themselves throughout the process. As for the move, the movers arrived exactly on time (with three men and a truck, not just two!) and were ready to get started. We had packed all our own boxes, and the guys were done loading the boxes and all our furniture (including padding, wrapping and disassembly) into the truck in what felt like record time. Then they were really organized and efficient getting all our things out of the truck, into our new apartment and reassembled too. They did in a few hours what would have taken us an entire day. Not a single minute was wasted! We would definitely recommend and would book with Two Men and a Truck again for future moves.

I had originally hired a different moving company and got frustrated with their lack of responsiveness to my pre-move needs. Then I found Two Men and a Truck - they were incredibly professional and attentive at every step of the process from initial quote to post- move follow up. Was quoted a three and a half hour move to move my one bed room apartment 3 miles and it ended up taking almost ten hours (cost 3 times as much as we were quoted). Multiple items were damaged in the move (including the hardwood floors in our new place). Looking back, I dont blame the actual movers, but instead the individual that quoted us. Even the movers moving us in said this should have been a 3 man job and taken 5 hours max!

The moving team was on time, friendly, and professional. Initially there was a problem with parking I had reserved but this didnt deter the team as they had no easy place to park close to my building. The driver was conscience of the hourly cost, and stated we will make it work. They parked across a small street, and begin loading soon after the initial inspection as we waited for parking authority to show up. The guys were efficient and didn’t waste time. The service is a little pricey, especially if you can’t book in well in advance, but overall it was worth it. They took good care of my items and did a great job making them all fit in a small storage unit.

Tesfaye Arrindell and Darryl Spaulding were my moving team. They were very professional throughout the whole move. They were on time and made the moving process very simple and quick. They were able to disassemble and reassemble my king size bed and even did everything they could to get my couch in. I have a very large three piece sectional. The longest part of the couch was very difficult to maneuver through the doors and didnt even fit on the elevator. Im so thankful that they were able to make it work. Overall this was a great team for this move. They even were able to save me a few dollars with their speed. Definitely recommend them as a duo to anyone moving. Thanks guys!

UPDATE 6/5/2021: The damage to my furniture has been fixed. Nick from Two Men and a Truck called me the next day after our move to ask me about how things went and he started the claim process. He was very pleasant to work with and explained everything to me. A carpenter named Doug who was also pleasant to work with first came to my place to do an assessment, and then came back another day with the pieces he needed to make the repairs. I watched him make the repairs and he did as good a job as the factory as far as my untrained eye could tell. On thing to keep in mind is I did choose the enhanced insurance, so that may have contributed to why everything was hassle free.ORIGINAL POSTWe contracted with Two Men and a Truck Alexandria for our move. Tesfaye, Dennis, Kendall, and Mauro were our movers with Tesfaye acting as team lead. The men were respectful and courteous, and I never saw anymore screwing around. Tesfaye took care to make sure his guys were wrapping our furniture carefully to protect it during the move.I felt the price I paid was competitive and I like the fact that you only pay for the time it actually took to move. I have heard some companies will charge you for whatever time you gave them as an estimate because they look at it as they set aside the truck and movers for that amount of time, so you’re now taking away from another customer if you actually take less time. One thing I didn’t like was how I had to decide on the spot if I was going to use the insurance, and how much, once the movers showed up. It would have been nice if I had received an email or something from Two Men a few days before so I could think about how much, if any, coverage I wanted.Overall it was a great experience and If I had to move again, I would use Two Men and a Truck and I would request for Tesfaye and Kendall by name.You may have noticed I said Tesfaye and Kendall; there is a reason for that. Dennis and Mauro moved a chest drawer both from my old house and then into our new place. One of the legs was broken, and after having thought about it for a couple of days, I now believe they knew it was broken and weren’t going to say anything about it. The leg broke in such a way that you could set the drawer on top of the leg and not know it was broken until you tried to move it. The only reason we found out when we did was because my wife tried to adjust the dresser and found out the leg was broken.Once we told Tesfaye about it he handled everything professionally by contacting the company and explaining that someone would be calling me to go through the claims process (which they did). We have moved six times in the last 16 years and every time something has broken, so I wasn’t upset at all about the furniture legs being broken. I’m upset that I believe Dennis and Mauro weren’t upfront about it and tried to hide it.To recap, overall the experience was great and I would use Two Men and Truck Alexandria again to move if I had to (although if they fight me on this claim that may change) and I would want Tesfaye and Kendall to be my movers again if I could get them.

We hired these guys for an in-town move from one apartment to another about 6 miles away. Total bill was over $1100. We hired them because we thought you get what you pay for. But, in this case, thats just not true. Save your money. Go with the cheaper services. The guys moved so slow they had to send 2 back up guys to get our items loaded. It took them almost 4 hours to load an 850 square foot apartment. I cant tell you how many times one of the movers walked in from the truck, looked around, and walked back out empty handed. Youre on the clock with this company and you pay for it if the movers work inefficiently. Hire a couple of college kids and save the money. Thats what well do next time. By the way, they did break our air filter. It was unloaded upside-down on the floor with the two pieces separated. These guys really didnt care. Would not recommend this company. Over priced.

These guys did a wonderful job. Not only did they come in several thousand under what other companies quoted us, but it was a great day. My Father in Law has used them twice and Ill use them again if we ever move. They were proffesional, friendly, detailed oriented and super fast. All the furniture was carefully wrapped, and they did an excellent job. The guys wore masks and were careful to keep their distance and keep things clean. They moved an entire 2k sqft house without breaking or scratching a single item -which is just wildly impressive. I had never used movers before -so its good to note they dont move live plants. I had one larger palm that I had planned for them to move, but it easily fits in our car so no big deal. If youre a huge plant person though, just be sure to make a plan! I will highly recommend them to anyone looking for movers. Thanks guys!

We had a great experience with 2 men (really, 3 men!) and a truck. They were responsive, timely, professional, and efficient. They moved our entire apartment (1 br, 1 ba) into a small storage unit in under 3 hours. The prices were reasonable and not only saved us money, but also a ton of stress and hassle. The office team was also great, and checked in frequently to reconfirm the date and time, and throughout the actual move to make sure everything was running smoothly. We will definitely be using them again when we move from storage to our new unit in a few months. We were very happy with this service and cannot recommend them highly enough.

This company runs scams. This move was a terrible experience. I informed the company that I had a 20x10 storage bin and 3 pieces of furniture to move a quarter of a mile on the same street. I received a quote of approximately $600 for 2 men and a truck. I called the day before to confirm the job. They said it could be done in 3 hours. I requested a 3rd man because I knew 2 men could not move a 20x10 storage and 3 pieces of furniture in 3 hours. When they arrived late they said they did no know they had a storage bin to move at all. The order was for 3 men to move 3 pieces of furniture. for 3 hours! Clearly that makes no sense. Then they said the job would take much longer, I would have to pay more. I called the Clint at the company because it was obvious the estimate was completely a lie just to get the job. They charged me $150 travel fee to go down the side walk less than a quarter of a mile. The bill ended up being $1261 which was double the estimate!!! They are not worth it. Go to another company that will give you a genuine estimate and not lie about the original estimate. Clint said my bill would not double and it did!! This was a scam to upcharge.! Bait an switch! Dont use this company.

Used Two Men and A Truck for my house move. The team arrived on time and contacted 15 min prior to arrival. They were very professional and courteous from pack up and load to the unloading process. During the pack, i was impressed on how well they wrapped each item to move with pads and then shrink wrap to prevent any damage. During the offload, they assisted in placing items in the home, assembly, and disposing of the shrink wrap. Excellent experience overall; will definitely use again for any upcoming moves. Thanks.

The team who arrived on time, which included four men, were terrific guys, eager about their work and responsible. They put everything where I wanted exactly. The office team was amicable and professionally called to confirm everything we dealt about for the first time. Even though when I needed to change the service date, they did it quickly.However, the cost was very reasonable and fair compared to the service. TLDR look elsewhere for moving servicesHaving seen so many positive reviews and finding their website user-friendly to get my estimate, I was optimistic about using Two Men and a Truck for my move - unfortunately, though, it was a negative experience.The offices didnt send me confirmation of my reservation until after multiple attempts to get in touch and never responded to some of my inquiries. Several items arrived broken and my large dresser was packed ** on top of my TV, on top of its screen **I also had several issues with the movers who unpacked my items (different location), and left a review to cover this part of the process.Still waiting on the office to follow up with me regarding items Ive reported broken.I dont typically write reviews, but Im sad this move turned out the way it did - I wont be using their services again and recommend you try another moving company.

They were on time, professional, incredibly helpful, and they went above and beyond with the packing and unpacking of my items for the move. Called to see if I could get the help of two guys-already had the truck but my help cancelled at the last minute. I just needed to moved two pieces of heavy furniture... guy on the phone said $200 per hour and $200 travel charge...then I repeated I had a truck-just needed some help for an hour--he said we dont do that and when I asked if he could direct me to someone who might be able to help me--he said he didnt know anyone. And no, a single woman isnt going to go pick up day laborers by herself...so NOT helpful.

Their office team worked with us to meet any requirements we had and the moving team was fantastic and accomplished everything we wanted. If you want to have control over details of your move, such as not sharing a truck, exact delivery date and packup date, good covid precautions, careful packing and much more I would highly recommend Two Men and a Truck.

Came exactly when they said they would. These two guys were so fast, but they were still very careful. I had several large items and the building I was moving into had no freight elevator. They had to roll my sofa up the garage ramps to get to my place. The whole move was less than 5 hours. I will use them every time I move.

We used Two Men and a Truck for our move within Northern Virginia. We booked our move months in advance and then COVID broke out. Even though this is a time with so much stress, our move was completely stress free. Our movers arrived early and moved so quickly and efficiently, even though we were moving out of a non-elevator building. When a lamp got left behind in the truck, someone came and hand delivered it to us the next morning. Nothing was broken or damaged at all. We could not recommend Two Men and a Truck more!

The Alexandria team was great. They got our 3K sqft. house packed, loaded and delivered to our storage unit in Manassas from Waldorf in two days. Starting with David when doing the virtual walk through, making the appointment etc. to Marcelous and his team of 4-6 guys at the house to Clint the Operations Manager I spoke with, they all were GREAT. Just a pleasure to have them and, for future moves the Military doesnt pay for, well be using them again.

They seriously made the burden of moving SO easy, theres no way I wouldve been able to get it done with out them! I had zero issues with scheduling, the movers arrived right on time to pack my items, and we were done in a little over 2 hours. Would highly recommend!

We had a terrible experience with this company. My husband hired them to assist with a move from Alexandria to Bethesda. He admits, he did not do enough research. Two Men and a Truck charged $180 per hour + 1 hour of travel time for 2 movers and a truck. When I did research on other moving companies, the going rate in the DC area for 3 movers and a truck is $125 per hour +$125 for travel time. The lack of research is on us, but buyer beware, do your homework.Also know that the company will ask you to sign digital contracts, but not have them printed for you. I personally prefer to sign paper contracts and not having these available delayed our move by 30-minutes and caused some frustration.The movers themselves were professional and overall did a good job (just item got chipped), but the organization of the office was frustrating.

The two guys that showed up did a great job getting all my stuff boxed up and onto the next place in a timely manner. I was pleased that they didnt go over the original quote like so many other moving companies at the end of the move. I actually gave them a tip for the expected overage usually needed with other moving companies. I would use them again in the DC Metro area.

From the scheduling team to the movers this whole experience was excellent. Some of the larger moving companies wouldnt even schedule estimates for a long distance move (Alexandria, VA to MA) because they were so busy, but Two Men scheduled the day I needed and reassured me they would get it done in time. The movers themselves were timely, very friendly and helpful, efficient, and made every effort to protect my items and the dwelling itself. I needed help and they really came through!! Scheduling and not money was the issue I had with the other companies, but the affordability of Two Men was the cherry on top!! Going forward, Im using Two Men and a Truck for all my moving needs and would recommend them to friends and family.

Two Men and a Truck were awesome! We had some really difficult circumstances- elevators that couldnt be locked off, an elevator too small for the box spring and couch, doors that couldnt be propped and had to remain locked and they pushed through until the end. So polite and hardworking. Would 100% use them again.

Two Men and a Truck saved me -- another moving company didnt show up for my move. I was nearly in a state of panic. I called Two Men and a Truck, which had given me an estimate for the job, and they sent a team out the SAME DAY and completed my move in less than than they had predicted. It was a total life-saver and I cant recommend them highly enough.

The team that helped us move were great. We had to move our move because of covid and the office was able to move it for us with no issue.

My items were intentionally damaged by a disgruntle employee and the response I got was oh well. He damaged wood pottery barn furniture and intentionally left an entire 7 ft Christmas tree in my extra bedroom closet. When I served in the military I always wanted this company to do my move but now I see why the military wouldn’t contract them. You live and you learn but please learn off of my mistake and costly replacement of valuable furniture. Oh no one ever came to get that Christmas tree so I ended up packing it myself and shoving it the backseat of my vehicle where my twins usually sit in their car seats.

They helped me move locally within Arlington and I cannot imagine a more seamless experience! It was raining on the day of the move and they ensured that all of my belongings made it safe and undamaged. Will definitely be calling them again for the next move!Thank you again for all of the help!

The two men who helped us move, Andrew T. and Josh H. were exceptional! They had positive attitudes, were efficient, and quick. It was a difficult move into the new place and they made the whole process significantly less stressful and easy for us!

Needed some muscle to carry a real heavy cast iron tub from my truck up a flight of stairs into the bath. They handled it with ease and got it done. I would not have wanted to do that myself.

I was scheduled to have movers arrive between 2–6pm on a Saturday but they never showed and never called. Due to the limited office hours on weekends I wasn’t able to get ahold of anyone until Monday morning. They told me they were looking into what happened and that I would hear back from their Quality team. In the meantime I had both the $250 hold that was placed when I scheduled, and a mysterious new $830 pending charge on my card.I heard back the following day explaining that they did an investigation, and there had been a paperwork mix up that led to this. They apologized, reversed the charges on my card, and offered a discount for any future move. While we can’t change the past, I appreciate that they at least offered closure and an apology.Fortunately I was able to have another company come out on very short notice Sunday morning and complete my move or else this would have become a much larger issue for me.

Unprofessional employees; using profanity in front of the customers and not wearing face masks.

Having used this company one time in a previous move, I hired them to move our office. Not only did they completely destroy our metal file cabinets and bend all of the drawers so that I am unable to access any sort of patient files without serious repairs, but they annihilated the carpets in the old office location as well as the brand-new carpets in our new location. They blamed it on my equipment that they were moving when it has been moved multiple times before without leaving damaging marks such as the ones that were left. I even had given the gentleman who helped move $40 tip in cash to go in by themselves a nice lunch on me but asked him a simple request that they take the boxes that we had put in The hallway and throw them in the trash. When I had returned from lunch I found that the boxes were left remaining and there were marks covering my brand-new carpet floor from the rubber of their equipment wheels. Whenever the problem was acknowledged by corporate ( three days after I filed a complaint for the incident) they simply explained to me that I was apparently warned that moving the equipment was going to damage the carpet....REALLY?!?!? I obviously was never notified of that because I have successfully moved the same piece of equipment in and out of multiple office locations without any damage being done. I am extremely disappointed in corporates response or lack there of. I will never use this moving company again and I suggest no one does. Im not one to write reviews unless I feel that the problem was genuinely handled poorly. This is bad business.

I used ValueFlex to move from VA to NV. I want to make the review as honest/fair as possible. Pros: The movers who came both in VA and NV were exceptionally great; probably the best movers Ive ever dealt with. You can fit a lot into the 16 container used. I have much more stuff than the average person & was able to fit it all and have 10-15% of space left. I moved from a 1100 sf 2 b.r. apt. Cons: The day before my move I got a voicemail from the VA location, stating there was an issue with my move the following day. I called back & was told there was a scheduling error & a customer who booked before me had priority over my move & they wouldnt be able to accommodate my move as scheduled. I was surprised, as I had booked everything over a month in advance & corresponded with them 4 times to make sure everything was on schedule, including 3 days prior to the move. I told them multiple times I had to book the moving elevator well in advance & it could only be done between 8am-5pm. The man I spoke w insisted I call my mgmt office& see if they could do a move after 7pm on the day we had scheduled the move originally between 10-2pm.My leasing office wouldnt make an exception for a late move. I called back & let them know there wasnt a way for me to do a later move. He then told me they could come that day (a day before scheduled). I wasnt done packing & there was no way for this to work. Theres nothing quite like having the stress of a long move, starting a new job shortly thereafter, & being told the day before they cant come as agreed. I expressed my concerns & the man then told me hed speak with his manager & see if anything could be done. 10 min. later I got a call & was told not to worry that they would come at originally scheduled time/day. Ive dealt with moving companies enough to know exactly what happened: they were trying to bump my move as they had a bigger more expensive one they wanted to prioritize. The scheduling error didnt make sense, given I had called several times in the weeks leading up to my move to confirm. Even though it ended up as scheduled, the prospect of having to move all of my stuff into storage (my lease ended the day the move was scheduled) & have them pick it up later was enough to add a new layer of moving stress I didnt need. Im glad they showed up as scheduled, but its a bad thing to attempt to bump someones move. The reason I booked this company instead of other options is because of the good reviews I read & bad past experiences with other movers. This company prides itself on quality; this part of my experience was anything but. My delivery date was scheduled for 12/18, & as promised I received an email the day before from Paula with the approx time of 8-9am. The morning of delivery I got a call telling me it was 2pm. I pointed out the email and was told Paula worked in customer service not the NV office & thats why it was wrong. (Ok?) I took the entire day off work when I could have taken a half day. This was also disappointing. When I first booked the move, they tried to tell me I needed 2 containers. I gave my entire inventory, so not sure if the guy way overestimated the size of my stuff, or was trying to get me to spend more. After seeing everything fit with extra space, Im left wondering. At delivery I was told they couldnt reassemble furniture because it was a liability, even though I was told when booking & at pick up (when they disassembled) everything would be put back together. It even says on my contract minor assembly/disassembly included. They did put my bed back together which was good. To be clear: the moving guys in VA & NV were exceptionally great and professional. The reason for my rating has nothing to do with this, only with what happened with scheduling and reassembly of my stuff.

They destroyed my new home floors walls and furniture movers had the biggest attitude an awful company and awful manager all and all pretty company and people to work with I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE IF YOU USE THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT.
