Im excited for their new location!Historically, I rarely eat fish (past experiences re smell and texture).Alas, after seeing neighbours posting photos of their fabulous looking meals, I dipped my toe in the water back in April2020 with fresh scallops and frozen shrimp from MAS - they were so easy to cook and delicious. In September I graduated to cooking fresh salmon - Katy was patient with my ordering and made sure I was taken care of. Also a winner.Friends and I (safely) shared a meal of Coho in October and everyone loved the quality. One of my friends had already started sourcing all of her seafood from MAS circa May2020.Ive added a few photos of my home cooked meals during 2020. Please not, I am NOT a chef, it is a miracle I did not burn everything.

Great fishmonger in Old Town, something we have been missing for a long time. The storefront is really minimal, but dont be thrown off when you walk in. Everything I have gotten from them (scallops, shrimp, tuna, salmon filets & steaks, clams) has been absolutely incredible. The seafood here is way better than what we used to get at Whole Foods.Highly, highly recommended - go check it out.

Freshest fish in town! Mike and Katy offer great customer service and no question or request for advice is too small or too silly. They regularly get in sushi-grade tuna. New on the menu: Fish soups. They post the menu on the FB page weekly.

I have never been to a seafood market where you cant see what youre buying. All the seafood is hidden from the customers in a backroom while the customer orders are taken in a front bare room with nothing but a cash register. The order I placed was incorrect but I didnt know until I got the product home. I would have noticed the error if I had seen the fish being readied .For the price I paid (high) I would expect everything to be perfect!

The best fresh seafood in northern Virginia, period. Id tried pretty much everywhere else before I heard about MAS this past summer, and none of them can compare. They seem to use high quality sources too, the farmed fish here tends to be better than the wild stuff from other places.

We try to have seafood a couple of times a week. Over the years we purchased seafood at Whole Foods, Balducci’s, etc. A couple of months ago we found Mas Seafood. Now we buy exclusively at Mas. Always fresh and a nice selection. We buy seafood here a couple of times a week now. While we have never had a problem, I am confident that if someone had a problematic purchase, Katy and Mas Seafood would do the right thing. Good people. We can highly, highly recommend Mas Seafood. Terrific seafood while also supporting a small, family owned local business. Go there!!!

We’ve been ordering from Mas Seafood weekly since they began offering retail sales back in the spring. The fish is always fresh, delicious and at a fair price, and the family that runs it is wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about them!

Only giving 4 stars since I havent experienced the new location, otherwise it would be 5. Ive tried just about every species of fish they offer and have love everything. The salmon and tuna are definitely standouts and staples. Beautifully fresh--everything perfect and delicious!.

It wasnt until the pandemic when they had to restructure their business that I found MAS; it it simply the bomb! As a New England transplant, I had been unable to get a decent scallop anywhere that I could rave about, be it from Whole Foods or a specialty stores. I took a chance on them when they were converting from wholesale to retail with a little pop up canopy off Rt 1 and havent looked back. The scallops are fresh, plump and wonderful tasting. My friends and family are getting Christmas gifts of scallops this year since they are loved by all and beat a fruit cake by miles and miles.

The freshest, best seafood in the DMV. MAS Seafood reminds us all why it’s so important to buy your seafood from a fish monger, not from a giant supermarket. Their menu of options changes weekly (but check their Facebook/insta daily for updates). Pre-COVID they did restaurant supply and I think this is their first straight to customer storefront. Every single thing we have ordered from here has been fresh and delicious. We’ve had everything from their scallops, rockfish, black seabass, branzino, salmon and mackerel and all have smelled like the sea and tasted phenomenal. Highly recommend!!

Weve been frequent purchasers of fresh lobster meat since they began offering retail sales during the pandemic-the only place I know that sells fresh lobster meat by the pound and not frozen or previously frozen. Great shop and Katy has been very responsive.

We found MAS Seafood early in COVID days. The quality is superb and prices are super-reasonable. We have enjoyed the shrimp and scallops and rockfish. Wish them all the best in their new location!

We stumbled upon this small local business this spring and haven’t stopped going since. Not only do you get extremely fresh seafood, you get wonderful customer service, and great prices. The scallops are some of the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried many) and the other fish is consistently very high quality -no off fishy smells or taste. They sell the kind of fish that requires minimal seasoning (butter, lemon, S&P) because the fish tastes wonderful on its own! Some of my favorites? Salmon (wild and Canadian), cod, mussels, and mahi-mahi. Being a small business, they’re easily able to answer questions about sourcing because they know their suppliers (can’t do that at a chain!). Katy and her team are personable, honest, and will get my business for years to come. My 8 yo son says “I love MAS Seafood! It’s sooo delicious!” And he asked for fish for his birthday dinner.

Update after response: If your customer was restaurant or market, I wouldnt go there if you supply them with what you supplied me.Original: BAD FISH. OLD FISH. I bought some fish. I always rinse fish when I get home-- took 4 rinses for water to be clear. FOUR. Bags were old worn, hole on the side. Paper wrapping was completely wet- fish had been inside for a long time. These folks should be shut down.
