Small grocery store, what it lacks in diversity of products it makes up with a great convenient location.

Smaller than the Giant Safeways stores we are used to out west. Clean, nice & helpful employees. They had everything needed.

The store is older and a little dark and the aisles are crowded together but they have a much better selection than Balduccis around the corner. And clearly the prices are great.

When I lived in old town I use to go here all the time. Kind of small but had a wide selection of items. More variety than, lets say Giant, but the prices are also a tad higher. Still it was within walking distance from where I lived and the area was very nice.Not a lot of parking though.

Dated store, but a convenient location if you are in old town Alexandra for the day and need to make a quick stop.

The best of a neighborhood grocery store! Skip the long lines and crowds. Everyone will make you feel welcome and you wont have to jockey around others for what you need.

Broad selection for its size, during peak hours aisle congestion dost arise. If an item or two is your prize, come inside you’ll be surprised.

The store was a little crammed but that is to be expected in this neighborhood. (Everything seems to be a little tight.) They had the extra amenities we needed for our stay and was a short walk from our hotel. The checkout lady was nice and we got in and out in no time.

Its a pretty small store but the people are very friendly and they carried a few special food items that my more local store had discontinue.

The employees here are awesome. I go here a couple time each week and have always liked this Safeway, and have had many experiences of friendly staff. The recent situation has really shown how great the members of this Safeways team are. Last I went, everything was better stocked than could be expected. THE BEST was one gentleman walking the aisles gregariously helping people find what they needed since some things were out. He was stocking some travel Lysol wipes, knew everyone would want some, and so just went around passing them out to shoppers. Consider thanking the team here next time you go in.

Why 5? Its local and has a hometown feel. And, fresh fruit/fresh vegetables, beer and wine are all great in quality and price. The rest is just a relatively small grocery store. Okay, maybe its a 4 overall. The friendliness of the staff make it a 5. So, Ill stick with 5.

I was very impressed with this little store (Im from the South). Its like a lil Walmart. Very good selection and variety, especially for its size. The cashier was very helpful and friendly too.

This is one of the smallest Safeways that Ive ever visited. It may even be smaller than the Safeway in the basement of the Watergate which is quite small. That being said they are in a very convenient location on my route to and from work. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and it is the kind of store that has a very neighborly feel. Again with the small size they may not have everything you are looking for but for a quick trip it is great, and they do pack in just about as much stuff as you could imagine for the space.

This is a smaller Safeway. Its super convenient if you just need a few things on your way home, but if youre looking for specific ingredients or items this location may not stock them. The staff has always been nice and friendly.

This store is surprisingly tiny. For Alexandrias tony residents I thought it would be like the newer store in DCs Georgetown neighborhood but it reminds more of a much older store in an urban setting.But its easy to park. Its wonderful in summertime because this tiny store is very very cold! Its refreshing in hot temperatures.Great for fast shopping but very limited selection.

Im sorry I couldnt make this a 5 star review but they didnt have one of the items I was looking for. But... the Cashier helped me find two things in the store then told me where I go to get the item they didnt have. He even gave me directions to the other store. Exceptional guest care! I definitely recommend this store.

Small shopping market. Serves the local community well. The store is relatively clean. You are not going to get the best prices for your purchases, however, it is comparable to the area and understandable when considering the price of convenience.

Safeway has recently upgraded their fresh food offering, which has made a big difference. The employees here are always friendly and helpful. I wish they had a wider cheese selection.

This particular location happens to be my favorite Safeway in the area. They are the smallest so they do no have fresh baked bread or donuts but the customer service surpasses it all. I bought 4 bags of ice. Without asking, the nice cashier lady loaded up a cart for me and offered to push it to my car. All other times i have been there the same great customer service has been provided. I love the sandwich bar! Better than Subway.

I had a rush job probably like everyone else last Friday on V day... i didnt know where to turn but he nicest lady at safeway did me right and put together something special for me. highly recommend Safeway florists.

OK Safeway. A little dark but bigger than the old town location. Parking is ample and selection acceptable. Bakery is lacking though.

Like the other grocery stores in Old Town the building is quite small so the product selection suffers. That being said it has all the basics and the prices are fare. The staff here is nice and helpful. This is the best bet to get the basics in the Old Town (unless you dont mind spending extra at Balduccis or Whole Foods).

This Safeway is okay. Its one of the few remaining grocery stores in Old Town. This location is much smaller and dated than other Safeway locations such as the one in Belle View.

Very expensive, just like I have found with most Safeway stores. As one store associate aptly put it, this store is more like a convenience store for people in the neighborhood so they can grab some quick hors doeuvres at half-time on Sunday. The customer service folks are very friendly, which bumps it up to 3 stars. Best feature: Baby kale is wicked cheap here and is always available. Worst feature: Everything else is overpriced-you pay for the convenience of a small, quiet neighborhood store with very short checkout lines.

Even though this Safeway is small, it usually has a ton of great produce and other food options AND is has a parking lot, a rare treat in the Old Town area!

I come here often as the main alternative is that rip-off joint Balduccis. The prices are the only reason I come here, they have good sales and I really feel that they have a very good value here. That said, this store is almost a horror show, very old, tiny, narrow aisles and as previously mentioned, no bakery products. The staff is hit or miss, they have some very helpful individuals that go out of their way to help and then they have the register jockeys. This is really the most frustrating thing at this location, the few amount of people working the register and their lack of concern for anyones elses time. They DO NOT care, if youre waiting... so what... you can wait. If there was a better option (Harris Teeter is a bit too far) I would absolutely go elsewhere but their prices remain the reason to go here.

Small neighborhood Safeway store but has stuff that I need for the quickness.

The quality of food is profoundly different than what I am accustomed to. If it were closer, we would shop there more regularly.

For small Safeway it is packed with great items! Just need to lower the prices!
