On September 14 2021 I came to DePaula Mazda ( Albany ) all the way from Manhattan to locate a vehicle. I talked to a receptionist the night before and I was told that there was a few vehicles still on the lot and decided to take a ride up and see what they had. Unlike many other dealerships in the NYC area that lied about having inventory just to get you in the showroom, DePaula Mazda confirmed they had these vehicles and I made an immediate appointment. I arrived earlier than my appointment time and I was greeted kindly by Mark. I was extremely happy finding out they had a vehicle still on the lot that matched what I was searching for. Mark was informative and forthcoming during the entire process from start to finish. I didnt feel like I was getting the run around or getting cheated on anything. I also worked with Stephanie during the financial portion of this process. I remembered half way up to the dealership that I left my checkbook and would have to take a taxi across town to get a check from my bank. Mark and Stephanie went out of their way to drive me to the Bank. Shortly after we finished the process and I was on my way home. I give this dealership a 10 out of 10 for overall service. I was there for almost 5 hours. There is mo coffee machine no soda machine. It would have been nice to at least have something. The amount of time was ridiculous. And techs were complaining . I know they are short handed. However spending the day for inspection and oil change with replacing a sway bar. Is a little much.

Although the Mazda Service Center was extremely busy, each Service rep took time in checking in as well as updates to progress. No extra work was completed before checking with me. Yes, it was a necessary update. I appreciate the way the work was completed in a timely manner as well as explaining the result. The office staff was also courteous. This is the second car weve purchased from DePaula Ford. Our first experience was a little rocky, but this time it was great! Nick was amazing! He had us laughing and answered all our questions and even took the good natured teasing like a champ :)I love my new to me Mazda CX-5, and Collin ( Im terrible with names so I hope this is right!!) was so great about going over all the features and showing me all the things my car does. I had a great buying experience. My salesman Tyler was knowledgeable and friendly, but not at all pushy. He seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the perfect vehicle for me. The sales manager was Jim gave me a good value for my trade. I looked at several vehicles at multiple dealerships and DePaula really was a better experience than the rest.

Waited 2.5 hours for an oil change. I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks out and I still had to wait more than expected for something that takes maybe an hour. I understand it gets busy, but this left a terrible taste in my mouth and feel inclined not to do business here. There’s other Mazda dealerships in the area that manage to get me in and out in a reasonable time. Recommend finding another place for routine maintenance.

This was my first time shopping for a new car and only my second time going to an actual dealership. Im happy to say that DePaula Mazda did an excellent job!To give some background, about 12 years ago, before I moved back to NYS from CA, a gearhead friend of mine suggested I checkout the Mazda3 hatchback. He was a self-proclaimed car guru gifted with the unique ability to predict your favorite vehicle based on your personality. It had been 13 years since I even needed a car, so I was open to any and all suggestions. I found and purchased a beautiful uniquely blue, 2007, pre-Bluetooth standard, used Mazda3 from a veterinarian in Colonie, and I have to admit, my car guru was 100% correct in his prediction.Despite my efforts to take great care of my beautiful car, 12 years later I found out that the 2007 Mazda3s had severe rust issues under the car, and I was lucky that mine lasted that long. So I found myself car shopping during the pandemic, looking for a very specific replacement to my favorite car. Subaru almost had me, but during my test drive, the base model felt plastic-y and cheap, it had poor pickup (horsepower), and I had a very typical used car salesman type experience from the Schenectady dealership -- which immediately turned me off to the well-respected brand.Months later it finally happened... Like a ray of light, a summoning from the great beyond, an email came in from one of those CarFax/CarGurus sites about a reasonably priced, blue, preferred, 2020 Mazda3 Hatchback. It had everything I needed (which was a pretty short list that included, AWD, blue colored, and Android Auto). Upon arrival, I was greeted by a new salesperson named Colin. He was young and definitely new to the process, but he more than made up for that with excellent customer service and his willingness to go above and beyond. To be fair, the car practically sold itself, but Colin was the breathe of fresh air that I needed, and I was happy to give him the final sale.From test drive, to the masked elbow bump (aka - the pandemic handshake), the experience was pretty smooth. Colin emailed me and texted me all the information I needed. Then he and the DePaula team did all the nightmarish work which included registering the vehicle in my name, transferring my plates over, transferring my insurance, figuring out the loan details, and lining up the paperwork. Honestly, it couldnt have been an easier, more pleasant experience, and Ill always recommend them because of the great work Colin and the DePaula Mazda team did.

Went in for nys inspection and to have an ABS safety recall just looked at because they said they didnt have parts, but how do you know it needs parts unless you look. After being told I needed 2 light bulbs replaced to pass Inspection and a total of about $100(only one of which needed to be replaced to actually pass inspection) I had the one required bulb replaced and they waived the labor which was nice. But the recall item was never even addressed or looked at. Ill be contacting another ford dealer to have the recall items addressed. Considering my family has bought 5 vehicles from them Im not overly confident in their service department right now.

Ive done all my car services with depaula, but today my experience was absolutely exhausting. I have never dealt with anyone as clueless and incompetent as this gentleman by the name of Fran, he has no idea what he is doing and how to meet customers needs, although he claimed to be doing this job for over 25 years. I came in with maintenance lights on and he failed to acknowledge that I was due for service maintenance and simply focus on the things I told him. After I called him out, he simply gave me a packet of numerous things that they offer and told me to choose one; which forces me to feel like I am paying for things that I dont need. Less not forget the fact that I have been waiting here for over 4 hours. This is the worst.

I had an issue that I noticed when the car was returned to me by the dealer valet service. I brought it to the attention of Crystal and it was resolved to my satisfaction by the service manager. I have been getting my car serviced at this dealer since 2014 and do not use non-Ford repair shops. They have the complete service history are best equipped knowledge wise and have the special tools necessary to complete repairs.

DePaula Fords Commercial Truck Manager and Finance rep were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Their website was clear and precise and we got a great deal on our 2021 Ford XL150. Compared to 2 other brands that we looked at Ford was tops for value and standard included features. From research beginning to delivery of 200 miles there was not a hitch. We have had 2 new Ford E150 vans and a new XL150 prior to this and all were very reliable without a major repair. I would think that if you are looking for a Ford within northeast you will not find a better deal- we tried !

I had the pleasure of working with DePaula Mazda when it came to finding my new dream car: the Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition Turbo with red leather interior. I made the appointment at DePaula after finding that another dealership didnt have this trim/color option available the day prior during my test drives. They were quick to respond and clear with any information I needed to bring.Even though my car wasnt on the lot yet, I was able to test drive similar models to confirm that I was set on this model/trim. Nick Bennett was understanding of my situation and was extremely helpful during the entire process from test driving to ordering what accessories and options I wanted to come with my new Mazda. While waiting for the car to arrive at the dealership, Nick sent me information as needed, and I felt like I was in good hands with DePaula because of it.Qasim Dawood walked me through the financing options for my Mazda and he was a pleasure to work with, too. He gave me quotes for multiple options and didnt feel like he was pushing me in a direction I wasnt interested in. He was also great with communication when it came to my car arriving.Overall the process was wonderful, and even any minor hiccups were handled very well. Cursing on the sales floor by the staff. Before Rushed paperwork with no review of actual documentation. They did not go through who I was prefinanced with and I found out after sale was processed because they didnt advise. Sales representative advised the me as a customer their maintenance team is aweful. They did not attach my plates securely so I had to do this. Basic maintenance of the used vehicle was not completed. Oil life was 65%. Wipers were worn. Key batteries were dying. Interim Registration was set for 5 days expiration instead of the standard 45 days. I got a great vehicle at a good price but service, financing & maintenance were not good experiences.

I came in for check engine light, Lenny was taking care of my car, it was quite a big job to replace the engine. Good service and rapport with all the reps I worked with - They were all a delight. They did what they could and checked in on me while I waited for them to bounce between customers on a very busy day.My only complaint(s) would be about their manager - He wasnt rude to me, but he spoke pretty nastily to his employees within earshot of customers, which isnt the best look. He also seemed to be forcing all the reps to double and triple up on customers to juggle. I get it, it was busy, but it definitely doesnt make for the best customer experience usually.But overall, good experience. Everyone I encountered with was so easy to work with, genuinely helpful and friendly.

After dealing with this dealership for the last 3 years I will not be a returning customer. My salesman lied to me more than once when purchasing my vehicle so for that reason I’ll never buy a car from any DePaula branch moving forward.Also my car has had several issues over the last 18 months yet they can’t determine the cause(s) or any solution(s) after 4 or 5 separate trips to the dealer. You say you fix every time but nothing actually changes. However, I will say a couple of your service advisors are very quick to point fault at your customers with no justification. I literally have non depaula mechanics telling me not to go back to you.$30k+ for a car and now I can’t even get a call back? What a joke. I’d love to chat with Mazda corporate but instead I think I’ll avoid buying any Mazda products in the future. This branch has time and again soiled the entire Mazda brand for me. Buyers beware!

I asked to have passenger tail light fixed or replaced, was told the message wasnt relayed. And said that there wasnt a tail light in stock anyway. Asked to fill radiation coolant because its under minimum level while they did oil change; Did not fill. Service is sub par. The last oil change I had to remove my under carriage cover because it was ripped and dragging. not a good feeling doing business with DePaula Ford.

When i tried to get in my vehicle to ho home, i had to climb over the passenger side. They parked my vehicle right next to snother vehicle, not cool. Overall the service was great, and i would go back to have my service done.

I am extremely upset with DePaula Mazda. My first purchase was excellent on my new CX5 Grand Touring 2018. We were was so pleased we brought our daughter in to buy her first new car and ended up actually buying 2 brand new identical 2021 CX5 Grand Touring’s. We overlooked the issues with letting people get preferential treatment delaying finalizing the paperwork and ruining our celebration dinner that day and delays in taking possession of one of our vehicles for several days. We called as there were issues with the new communication system immediately. Unfortunately, our car was also hit by a deer in the rear door within the first month. We had rental coverage, and had arranged for DePaula to repair the radio, and the damages to the car. We had issues getting the rental which DePaula was directly involved in. They had the car roughly a week and I live 1 hour away and I am extremely busy with work. My car was allegedly repaired and on my way home I realized the radio still did not function properly. Then when I got home I noticed white overspray all over the new rear black door moldings. It was then in the light we also saw orange peel in the paint on the door along with the missing vent visor damaged in the loss was which was missing and not replaced. Our point of contact was Glenn Cummings whom we called several times to correct these issues. On 8/6/21, we made a final attempt to contact Glenn who stated he forgot to take care of these issues and set expectations. He said stated he would call back on Monday 8/9/21 with a resolution including dropping a car off to my work while they made the proper repairs. Well, It is now Tuesday evening on 8/10 with no word from Glenn or DePaula.….We are extremely disappointed in DePaula and their lack of correcting these issues on a month old brand new vehicle…..this has truly ruined our whole experience and trust in the entire organization from sales, finance, service and even their body shop.

Recently during a storm, a tree fell on my brand new car and caused a considerable damage to its roof. I was devastated to say the least. My insurer advised me to bring the car to Depaula for repair. Dropped my truck off for an oil change and alignment on may 22nd, didn’t need it back right away so I let them keep it for four hours. Got it back with no new oil sticker, receipt stated that tires are rotated and pressures set. Tires weren’t rotated as my left front tire was low before I bought it there and was still low when I got it with low tire light on dash. Been driving for a day and truck is pulling to the right. Now I’m convinced I paid $150 for no work to be done. Probably won’t ever go back. Only plus is that Lenny is pleasant to deal with and at least tried making things right although they should’ve been done right the first time.

I have enjoyed my time as a customer of the DePaula dealership(s) in Albany. My family has purchased from DePaula Ford and DePaula Chevy. I have made 1 lease and 2 purchases-1 used, 1 new-from DePaula Ford, and the DePaula family has made my family feel like valued customers. EVERY dealership will have reviews that are negative-you should read those and consider those along with 5 star reviews like mine, but if you are making a decision about a car for yourself or your family merely based on internet reviews and not by going in to meet the people, test the available product lines, and choose what is best for you, then you are missing out. I went into the dealership looking to test drive a used car. I drove it and it didnt blow my mind. Oh, I should probably add that I used to see myself as a truck guy, but Im at a different place in my life, so I looked at NON trucks-specifically, SUVS. I found a terrific Ford Expedition that fits my present lifestyle. I never thought Id buy anything but a truck, so I was really impressed with the Expeditions available at DePaula. You want to know why DePaula, though, right? For me, it was being made to feel respected as a customer with a voice and interests and needs that were acknowledged. I wasnt rushed or pressured to buy or lease at a higher or condescendingly lower rate than I wanted. I came in with a vision in mind and I got exactly what I wanted in every way-the vehicle, the pricing, the respect as a valued customer. Ill buy/lease from DePaula again. They keep earning my business because they treat me well when I come in-buying new/used or leasing. I hope you have a great experience there, as well.

Jeff and his team provided great service. Great attitude and communication. The automated SMS notification system was off. I received a ton of texts that were simply not accurate, one of them thanking me for picking up my car, even though I havent picked it up yet..Last thing is the repair estimate. It took additional 2 weeks from the initial estimate I received. But the service was great and the team over at Depaula was great.
