The primary (senior) mechanic does not seem interested in diagnosing the problem correctly and just tells you to replace the whole component (even if nothing is wrong with it) or something thats next to it. My car had a loose exhaust shield (with a rattle sound) and the mechanic just took a few seconds and said it was a bad catalytic converter without even testing the converter. Always ask the mechanic to show you what is wrong and be ready to walk away and get a second opinion.At an earlier time, the owner sold me a new battery while the older battery still had life.Im giving 2 stars because the other (junior) mechanic did not try to sell me brakes when I asked him if the brake pads still had life.

Amazingly easy to get an inspection done. They had a bay open, and were done by the time I finished my order at cvs across the street. 10/10

As others have said, its a rare gem these days, finding an honest, competent, friendly and prompt shop. Ive been taking my cars here for over a decade and have only positive things to say about Vinni the owner, Tommy the manager and all other staff members. They saved me time and money over and over again. Very highly recommend the place.

Acton Auto Tech is amazing, and Tom is an awesome mechanic - I go to this garage for all the work I need done on numerous cars, and also get great advice from Tom for projects I am working on myself. My wife loves to go here too - which is unusual with garages! Support your local garages and vote for right to repair!

Tom is the best mechanic in the area and has a conscious which you dont find in many mechanic. I have come across alot of dishonest mechanics before but Tom is by far the most honest and knowledgeable. The guys behind the counter are always friendly and joyful to speak to. Great place with great people!

They took me in for a car inspection 5 minutes before closing, and were very friendly about it!

I had a flat tire and pulled into Pro Tec just before closing time and Tom was a lifesaver! He not only fixes the flat, he put it back on the car and even put the spare back in my trunk! Wow. What a nice guy. THANK YOU

Dont go this place.I just had a hole on the exhaust pipe. The guy here tried to replace my hole exhaust pipe with muffler.I asked to repair that hole. But the guy insisted he could not do that.Finally I got it fixed somewhere else by just fixing the hole at a small portion of the estimate cost from this guy.
