They had my car for two weeks. At the end of the two weeks I was told that they were still waiting for more parts and it was gonna be at least another week. I had a temper tantrum over that because I can’t get back-and-forth to work for the two weeks that I don’t have my vehicle. I get it back two days later. They obviously had the parts that were on back order rush through the procedure and now my transmission light is on again and I need to return the vehicle for God knows how long I do not recommend them

AAMCO really take care of their customers they didn’t charge me a penny for keeping my car there which is 40$ a day. My car has a brand new Transmission and it didn’t cost me a large amount of money . I would definitely recommend AAMCO .

After speaking with David, I took my car to the shop and they ran a complete diagnostic check and advised that the car was in good shape but needed a transmission. I went there with a very unique problem with my transmission. They changed a switch that was diagnosed bad. The problem was not fixed BUT they wanted to refund all the cost. I think that is an admirable thing to do. I would not accept all that. We split the bill because they did change the switch which was bad and put their labor in on the problem. I think this is an honest company and will recommend them.

Customer beware got charged for parts not replaced car still shifts bad after 25 miles classic car. Dropped transmission pan original parts still in there. Got scammed assistant manager is a scammer. Spent over 2 grand for an oil change at least not leaking anymore 🤯

Told me I needed a $3600 transmission and argued with me when I asked him to inspect it. Said he wouldnt look at it so left. Turns out it was a $400 ABS sensor...not a good business and not good people.

I was very pleased with the quality of the service I received. I had it in a different Auto shop that said they had fixed the problem, to have it happen again in 3 days. Aamco, Winter Haven location fixed it. I have not had any issue since. Thanks to Dave and the Aamco employees. I appreciate the timely manner and professionalism you have shown me. AAMCO of Winter Haven...totally ROCKS! I called and spoke with Dave told him the problem I was having with my car, and how I needed to get my vehicle to them but felt uncomfortable driving it. He said not to worry he made arrangements to pick my car up and within the next day he called and gave me a breakdown of what was wrong. He worked with me on the plan to get everything fixed, was very patient and understanding, not to mention their price was lower then 2 other previous quotes I had been given prior. When I brought my 98 Jeep Cherokee to AAMCO to have the transmission completely redone. I had no clue the extensive work that would be required for the repair, but the professionalism and the courtesy that Aamco at Winter Haven had was exceptional. David would listen to every concern that I brought up to him and the technicians paid special attention to every little detail and was carrying and courteous the entire time of our individual situation. I took my car to a shop on Lakeland and they told me I had to buy a new transmission on my 2014 Toyota Camry le they told me it would cost me between 5000.00 to 6000.00 I said I am going to get a second opinion so I did went to AAMCO and they told the transmission was fine it only needed and axel and a seal and another part there but I was so excited to hear that when David called I called everyone in my family and told them if I wont go to this shop who knows this is the second time I go to David shop and they have done a great job on both of my car and the guys that work with him I recommend them to anyone

David was very helpful with my cars engine problems; they were able to diagnose, notify, and repair them quickly at a reasonable price.

The only thing I can say positive about this place is that the staff was friendly. They worked slowly, didnt communicate with me causing more headache on my end, and giving me incorrect information regarding financing information. Witnessed angry and dissatisfied customers yelling at staff for similar reasons as to why Im only giving two stars.

One day in January 2020, I was leaving work and my cars transmission started to have problem, to me unexpectedly. I slowly drove to Aamco Wither Haven where they quickly set aside some things to determine the problem. After finding out the transmission needed to be rebuilt, they volunteered to call a local car rental location to ensure I obtained a good rate on a rental car. Then, after explaining why my car was so necessary to my job, etc., they expedited getting it repaired and back to me, in record time. Almost two months after, I realized that my extended warranty had not expired, as I thought, and when I called Dave to ask him to fax a copy of my bill to the warranty company he did not hesitate to do it, immediately. I strongly recommend Chris and Dave at this Aamco location, not just for the quality work - their sincere, caring, and family friendly nature is rare in todays world!Earl B.

I had to get an engine replaced in our Hyundai Elantra and David worked hard to find an engine and tried to get the car back to us as soon as possible. Displayed great customers service and communicated through the whole process.

I have been going there the last year and I am glad I found this gem of a mechanics shop. I used to take my minivan to the Chrysler dealership and everytime I got it back, something else went wrong, or damage was done that they would not admit too. With David and his team at Aamco, I have never had to bring back my van for the same thing twice. They simply get it right the first time, and recommend and replace stuff you need, not what they want because of the mileage, and they have great warranties. I have never felt hustled there like I have in the past at places like Goodyear, Merchant tire and Pep Boys. So, next time you go there, tell them Alex the Uber/Lyft guy recommended this place and asks for David.

I am revising my review and lowered the score from a 3 star to a 2 star. My beautiful Mustang that I work so hard in trying to keep in condition has more problem than it did before I took to this shop. Although, Dave was a great person the service there did not fix my issue. They did fix the Transmission, and if I was a real car guy I am sure its not really fixed. I had a friend drive the car, and he said that it really wasnt up to par. So, I still have that issue. Well, I took the car back because it wouldnt start. Dave assured me they would fix it. It starts, thank you Dave. However, there is still a hard pedal when accelerating, and this is an issue they said they would fix almost $300.00 later the problem still persists. I have a rattling in the under-carriage on the right side that was not there before. I called Dave he called me back after hours when I was in traffic on my way home. Anyway, I am very disappointed, and now I have to find a way to get these issues fixed and lose more money. Dave you were great but the service ultimately is what was real let down. I spent over $2,700.00 at this place, and still my car is not what I was promised it would be. I feel like crying because the more trust you place in Professionals with your prized possessions the more you are subjected to getting screwed. This place is the worst in production, but customer service gets a 5 stars.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of Chris Sullivan, the owner. He took the time and went over the results of the diagnostic tests, explaining in great detail, what was causing the problem and what it would take to fix it. He told me my car would be ready for pick up the following afternoon. He called the following morning stating it was ready. Upon pick up, I found my car in impeccable condition. Dave and Chris give great service and helped me save a lot of money. My car broke down on a weekend getaway. My CV Axel was under warranty but purchased from a different company in my home town miles away. They helped me get the warranty adjustment and got the job done in one day all with me 100 miles away. These guys are great, so is the technician who worked on my Subaru.

I was visiting family from out of town when my car lost power and wouldn’t accelerate. We were half a mile away from AAMCO and they were able to run quick diagnostics and do a battery test. They had a battery in stock that I needed and took care of me right away. Their pricing was fair and they were polite through the whole process. Definitely recommend them to anyone needing any services.

Brought my Jeep here after already having it repaired unprofessionally to fix the noise still in the rear differential. Should have brought it here to begin with!! Took a week to fix it due to issues with the prior unprofessional fix and getting the correct parts. Picked it up yesterday and couldn’t be more pleased!! These guys saved me A LOT of time and money!!I bought a truck with a bad transmission and Im an Aviation mechanic so I attempted to rebuild it myself. After a rebuild kit, a shift kit and a new torque converter the transmission still wasnt right. I brought it to the PROFESSIONALS at the Winterhaven AAMCO on a Wednesday and asked them to just give me a diagnosis. Thursday David called me to tell me that the transmission is throwing a pressure code and that further investigation was needed to determine the cause. The same day Chris called me to follow up and explain all the potential causes and possible solutions, he also told me that with how busy they were he didnt think he could dig into it until the following Monday. Friday (two days after dropping it off and three days before they said they would begin working on it) I received a text message from Chris. It was a picture of a solenoid hanging by its wires. I forgot to secure the solenoid😑. They put the solenoid back in its proper place, secured it, ran tests, test drove it and I took it home the same day. These guys could have easily sold me an entire valve body, or even a new transmission, taking me and my wallet for a ride, but they didnt. They are PROFESSIONALS!! David and Chris have a combined total of 50 years experience and it shows. As a mechanic I can tell when someone genuinely cares about their work and these guys are shining examples. They try to take the quickest and most cost effective route caring about what the customer wants. 5 stars isnt enough. I couldve paid thousands somewhere else and waited weeks to get my truck back. Two days and $200 was all it took for them. Huge shout out to the men at Winterhaven AAMCO! Will be seeing them again for future work for sure!

My 10 year old plus car was having major issues. after dropping off my car they went right to work on fixing things. i was called with updates on what the next step would be and was given a rough estimate every time i asked. at the end of the job i was given an itemized list of every thing replaced and prices. comparing i can see i wasnt fleeced on the totals for parts or labor. the engine runs great, super friendly and very upfront. the service manager even called after i paid and had left to inform me of a part they changed but forgot to tell me about. his first question was how it was running. cant recommend them enough and plan to use them for my future car repair needs.

I have had consistent, friendly, beyond expectations car repair and diagnostics for several years. My car is full of aging issues and they find out what each one is and fix it promptly. An honest mechanic hard to find nowadays. First thing my grandfather taught me if you find one, count yourself lucky. My jeep was slipping out of gear, thought the worst of course, transmission. Took it to a chain tire shop mechanic, yeah its the transmission all right. Took it to the Jeep dealer, yeah it looks like the transmission, take 2 weeks to get the parts. What?! We found this shop had great reviews and took it 40 minutes away. Got a call from the manager, looks like your sensor is bad and is causing the transmission to stall. $250 later plus tune up, I had some extra cash, all fixed! Tired of these replace all mechanics? Take your vehicle here.

I had just got a hose repair and found out shortly after I had a blown headgasket. AAMCO took care of everything including replacing the thermostat, a new gasket, as well as flushing my coolant and sealing the blown gasket. Best prices around. David provides excellent customer service and the mechanics efficient and funny. I wouldnt recommend anywhere else.

When answering an ad for a free check engine light diagnosis this company at the instruction of not to put a wrench to the vehicle and no work to be done because we wanted only the free check and road test as advertized sent out rep to pick up our 2004 Explorer 4wheel drive. We told the Manager Denny that it did drive well but got poor gas mileage and the check engine lite stayed on. I explained I didnt have money for a big repair and not to take anything apart. I was told not to worry that they would honor our wishes. Then we get a phone call telling us they removed the transmission and if we wanted to get the Explorer back it would cost us $900 dollars unfixed. We did not sign nor did we give permission to remove the transmission. After writing Florida consumer affairs they said that an unsatisfactory result from their office existed with the owners of the company and we would have to sue civilly because the state of Florida has no authority to protect consumers and force companys to be fair and honest. Florida law does say however that any auto company must get a signature from the owner to do work on the auto. No signature was gotten or given to this company. They placed a mechanics lien on the explorer and sold it out from under us. SO BE WARE OF this company and the management. Had they not taken this kind of action in January 2012 the following month we received our yearly check from retirement plan interest and would have gotten repairs done. We dont know what they found that needed to be done only a estimate after our complaint to the way we were treated. Our complaint is a matter of public record.

I took my 06 Ford Explorer her thinking I was having some transmission issues, thankfully I was wrong.I set up an appointment with Chris, the owner! Within five minutes of my being there Chris was taking my car out for a test drive with me in the passenger seat. I explained to him the issues I was having and he immediately knew what it was. The issues ended up being fairly small ones such as slight misfires due to older spark plugs and an old fuel filter. This was due to my lack of knowledge of vehicles and proper maintenance.Once we got back Chris asked if I was able to find a ride so I could leave the car there for the day. He said it would be ready by 6pm, it was around 930 that morning. I said, sure and tried to find a ride home.Evidently everyone I know in the area was either working or busy with their family. I decided not to call an uber because I did not feel the need to spend a total of $45 for a trip to and from the shop.David, the manager, and Chris both spoke to me the entire time I was waiting for my car to be finished.We shared stories, opinions and a few jokes. They are two wonderful guys.Chris even offered to buy me lunch while I was waiting, so I ended up having lunch with the office staff!Chris and David definitely have my loyalty from my experience there.They are a great bunch of guys and wont steer you wrong and they wont charge you for anything that you dont need.

I was impressed when I called this company on the phone late afternoon and was able to get my car in to check for what another company told me was an oil plug leak. It was moist but not leaking. The mechanic put a seal on it. While the hood was up it was found that the drive belt was frayed, ready to snap off and I needed a new one. I was pleased that I was taken inside the shop so that I could see for myself the belt was broke. Not all companies do this. The belt was fixed within a short time and I also had the oil changed. I asked them to check and determine the car was road-ready for a trip to Indiana. No other problems were found and I had no engine issues in my travel north. Customer service is excellent and I would recommend this company to handle your car repairs with integrity and professionalism.

Chris at AAMCO in Winter Haven was phenomenal with me and my vehicle. I took my 1985 Chevrolet Suburban into him because i had noticed some issues with the transmission, and i want ed a second opinion on what another shop told me. Chris didnt treat me like i was some dumba** who didnt know anything about my vehicle. He took the time to get to know me and the time to get to know my vehicle. He could tell that do my own service on my vehicle and that i dont let other mechanics touch it (hes the second one in three years). By getting to know me, and my fear of letting someone else turn a wrench on my rig, he gained my trust with re assurance and the truth. He took the truck for a drive with me, asked me questions, then brought it back, put it up on the lift and showed me personally what he was seeing and what he felt was the issue. He then issued me a fair quote, with a realistic turn around time of by the end of the week, mind you i took it in on Tuesday afternoon! On Wednesday afternoon he gave me a call and told me that a few extra parts needed to be replaced as mentioned the day before and wanted to double check if that was okay. He then told me that the truck should be ready the following afternoon. On Thursday afternoon, i picked the truck up, a whole two days from receiving it! He even let me look at the failed parts before i signed the paper work. The two day turn around for the rebuild of my truck is one of the things that really impressed me. Chris and his guys do phenomenal work and have gained my trust for any future last minute or over my head repairs. Thanks again for the quality Job guys, lets hope the truck will make it another 30 years on this transmission. Mike.

Dustin was very knowledgeable about the product and services provided by his store and very personable. He helpful and very patient when trying to determine my needs for service. I really appreciate the service I received which was warm and friendly.

I took my 96 Honda Odysee in because the transmission was slipping. The service manager Dave had a technician take it for a test drive and said that it was slipping and needed rebuilt.Dave told me what all was involved, that the base price was $2,000 plus tax, and it would take 2 - 4 days.I signed the paperwork authorizing over $2,000 dollars worth of work and left.The next day Dave called me to tell me they had found a cable unhooked and once they reconnected the cable the transmission ran great. They were going to service the transmission, it would cost $205 and I could pick it up later in the day.I had checked with several other local transmission shops and the only one cheaper had a base price of $1,900 and would take a 7 to 15 days.I know where I will be taking my vehicle from now on - AAMCO Winter Haven. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest.

Took our truck in for a brake job and was given a quote. Heres where things gained a 5 star rating, once David and his team got into the rusted brake line, more leaks began. I researched this issue with Silverado brake lines, and trucks from up north have this problem frequently. Rather than squeeze us for additional parts and labor, David was extremely apologetic about the job taking longer than initially thought. All in all Dave and his crew replaced about 12 foot of brake lines, plus some rusted connectors AND the price never changed! DAVID PROVIDED THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A SERVICE GARAGE!

When my 1992 Mercury Mountaineer broke down and I was on the side of the road Aamco took great care of me. They towed me in fixed my transmission and had me back on the road without a hassle. They are professional, honest and charge a fair price. I would definitely recommend them these guys will take great care of you.

Excellent customer service. Rebuilt my transmission. Working great after a week. Deserves 5 stars but took a few days longer than expected.

While traveling in our motorhome the day before Thanksgiving we stopped for fuel when our transmission linkage came off and we were left only able to move in reverse. We googled a local transmission shop who said they were trying to get out of work early for the holiday and were only willing to send a wrecker. No help. We then saw the AAMCO sign, we called and the manger David was so understanding and kind that he was willing to send Robert to us at the gas station. Robert was knowledgable enough to get us in a forward gear so we could travel down the road to their shop where they were able to make the repair. We were more than 100 miles from home with our son and dog in tow, had the staff at this AAMCO service center not have been so knowledgeable, prepared and compassionate then our entire holiday weekend would have been ruined. We know they went above and beyond for us, if we lived closer we would frequent this shop for all of our automotive needs. Thank you David, Robert and all the staff for your help that day.
