DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP! I called on Thursday and explained to the guy that i wanted a full install minus the headunit so he set me up for Sunday at 1pm. I showed up Sunday at 12:45 and he told me i was supposed to be there at 9am then says he though i just had an amp install. At that point I knew if he didnt understand ENGLISH or know the difference in 1pm and 9am I sure didnt want him installing my system.

Change my radio to a more newer version that had Apple car play and tint my car for a good price

Took my wifes mustang in for what should have been a simple audio installation. He recommended and sold me an amp that they couldnt get to work with the interface and said it was my problem despite charging me $575 for a busted New amp. They must pay for good reviews because their knowledge, storefront, attitude, and craftsmanship dont even deserve one star. PERIOD.

Im about a month late on this review, but better late than never. These guys are great at what they do and making sure youre satisfied. The install looks as factory as it can get, which is what I wanted. A month later, Im still happy. I dropped my truck off on my lunch break, and they provided a ride back to my job while it was getting installed. That was a huge help. Plus the prices were definitely better than other quotes I got. I would definitely recommend these guys and will repeat buisness with them. Dont hesitate to get your stereo installed by these guys!

Stopped by yesterday (6/22/2020) to look at systems and wanting to have a full revamp of our sound system seeing as it was 20y.o. We arrived around the 5pm mark and were greeted by a man named Marcos. He was very professional and took some time to ask questions to help us find the best products. I wasnt fully able to get what I was looking for but that was more to do with the constraints I had than it was their skill. I have to keep the third row seating in due to large volume of children; but I still walked away with a beautiful sounding system with 2 10 kenwood subs new amp and door speakers. The work took around 3-3.5 hours and went well past their closing time. The only gripes I have are the wires from the amp to the subs are not hidden like I wanted and they didnt vacuum up a mess that was made from having to modify my dash slightly to get the new stereo in. Other than that I would def. Recommend and will be going back for window tinting and a possible back up cam.

Charged more than what was quoted over the phone and ended up with a hack job. Glove compartment contents all over my seats. Missing fuse covers. Thought I’d give them another chance but that’s what I get.

Got charged more then originally Quoted. They charge me more to take the dash apart to then tell me my factory speakers are good enough. Then I pick the car up and there’s grease all over my brand new car and it’s dirty. Get down the road and the speaker box and amp slams against my trunk. Now I’m told that I’ve got to pay more to have the speaker box mounted down and the amp mounted to the back of the speaker box to take up less room like I originally ask. Worst service ever but decent system.

These guys helped me pick out a nice, new radio for my car to replace my old stock one. They were really friendly, flexible on prices and installed the radio in under 30 minutes. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking to upgrade their cars sound system.

Took a train horn for install to them and they told me that the fittings were incorrect and that it wouldnt work. told me they could order me one took them 2 weeks to even talk to me after they took my money finally i got in touch with them and they said i could come get my deposit back. took the kit somewhere else and the guy looked at it before i left and showed me where they stripped it and also lost some fittings. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone bc they are stupid as hell

$800 & 14 trips for a simple stereo & 4 speakers only to fail again. Lied to me about replacing speaker wires to all speakers. Still charged me though. I have been riding around with no stereo for a year now because of these crooks.

I am in the process now of filing a lawsuit. the only way this place gets more that one star is if they pay someone to write a good review. the absolute worst place to get your car hooked up. spent $1000 and had to go to another shop and spend $150 to correct what they did wrong. I wouldnt even think about going back to this place. car smelled like weed when I picked it up. they didnt even give me the equipment that was agreed on and I paid for. put totally crap pair of speakers in though I was supposed to get a $300 pair. these guys need to be in jail for the fraud they are committing. but trust me what goes around come around..

Got my car wired here not long ago... the subs started going on & off by them selves... Took it back to them and they said that they couldnt help me unless I paid them $50 the figure out what was wrong then pay for what was wrong... I work in Customer Service and this is the worst Ive ever gotten... Ive given superb Customer Service all of my career and to be treated like WHO ARE YOU is unacceptable #thumbsDown... Ill pay someone else to fix it...

So my car radio made a high pitch noise so I figured I get it checked out .they told I needed a new radio so 150$ And 2 hours later.. new radio... still makes the noise so they charged me the same price and rewired The Whole car and then took the radio back that they installed.so I paid 155 for something that someone down the road quoted me for a 100 so 6 hours later and I spent my whole day here ..will never be back here .. go somewhere that the people actually know what they are doing...very nice people tho

Sat in the waiting room for over 5 hours because they tried to sell a radio to me when I didnt need a new one. They then told me I needed a noise suppressor to fix my problem. They ended up installing it and the same problem reoccurred . They took the new radio out because I wasnt going to pay for it if it didnt fix it . They then tell me I need to have my radio re wired . It took them 2 hours for this . Do not recommend they beat around the bush and tell you bs problems so you spend more money . Save a trip dont come here

This place sucks!! Most unprofessional group of people ever! Theres no prices on anything, so that just make them up when you ask. And the stuff is literally twice as much there as it is online. I did end up buying a sub box, but it was separating. I asked them to fix it and the put screws through the carpet of it. Talk about quality. I dont recommend anyone to spend a dime in this place.

Had to bring my car in on 8 separate occasions. No joke, on the 8th they told me it would cost $40 to assess + more to fix it. Laughed in their faces and went over to My Image and he fixed it for 15 bucks. The guy at Nu Image said it was the worst wiring he had seen in 20 years and he is constantly fixing cars from Ultimate Sounds.

Called to see if they could install a Kicker Key Amp in my truck, was told they could and that it would cost $85.00. When I got there the guy looked at the amp and the truck and told me it would be $190.00 because it was a 4 channel amp even though I told them what I had over the phone. Still had them do the work and asked them to get my steering wheel audio controls working again and they said they would. After waiting all day, I get a phone call asking if they could keep the truck overnight because they were short manned and couldnt finish it that day and I told them that would be ok. The next day I called to see if my truck was ready because I hadnt heard anything and the day was getting on and they said that it had been ready, they just had forgot to call me. Upon picking it up I realized they hadnt touched the audio controls although everything else seemed to be ok. Wont go back.

I needed some extra equipment for a DIY project. The manager Taz gave me some project recommendations. His suggestions saved me extra trips to the store and shortened the whole process. The guys have a great reputation which is why I chose to shop with them the first time after moving here... Did a top-notch install on a Rockford Fosgate system. Clean and neat work. I had just had an expensive detail job on my car and was leaving that afternoon on vacation, and they provided timely white glove service above and beyond my expectations. The employees were attentive and personal... As a former sound tech, I give them five stars. They were a pleasant, affordable option and a great way to avoid a self-install... They had me ready to go on my trip with same-day service. Now, I am bumpin in my new car! They have definitely earned my future business...

Appt sceduled for 09:00, owner didnt arrive until 09:10. I was told it would take appx 4 hrs for the system install. I was at this place for 8 hrs, the staff is very friendly and the install looks nice. After leaving I kept hear something rattling in the rear of my car, discovered one of the speaker did not have any screws in it to secure it and found several screws and a couple of sockets left in my rear deck. I would not recommend this place.

Horrible horrible! Spent $700 on brand new equipment. Installed myself. Amplifier was faulty(no biggie). Went to exchange thinking they would stand behind there product. Manager said Im not here to make you happy the proceeded to pull out the race card. Never will I go back and advise you dont either!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE.No matter what the other people on this page say- Plain and simple, do not take anything here that you would like to have returned in working order. If you want details, read below.Story (in numbers, because the whole story would be a novel series)1. NO SENSE OF TIME- Had an appointment to put in two speakers at 11am. Left the vehicles there for 3 hours until we called to see how it was going. They hadnt even started. Told us that it would be 30 minutes or so. So we waited another hourvand then decided to drive by. Its 4pm now and we drive up and both the vehicles are sitting in the exact spot we left them. Only after waiting 5 hours and having to prod them do they begin on our vehicles simple speaker installations.2. BROKE MULTIPLE THINGS- First, we had one of the vehicles returned and we noticed that the remote unlock/lock wasnt working. They tried to tell us that it was like that before- which was an outright lie. So, after a useless discussion, the workers brought that vehicle back into the shop to try and show us that they hooked everything back up. Wasnt our fault- basically. Returned the vehicle to us afterwards. After it was returned, EVEN MORE THINGS STOPPED WORKING including the windows, power mirrors, and others. After a heated and admittedly over the top disscussion, they brought it back in to show us AGAIN that it wasnt our fault. And yet, once everything was back together- it now all magically worked like it was supposed to. Even the remote unlock. So, yes they tried to push the blame on us when it was proven that it was entirely their faults.Not only that was broken but the other vehicle involved was left with the antenna not plugged back into the radio! As well as the installation job on the box speakers did not allow for the soft top to be lowered anymore. Both of these had to be redone after leaving the terrible place 8 hours later!3. MANAGEMENT UNREACHABLE- Specifically the owner. After all of this, obviously we were expecting to be able to get some sort of refund for the ridiculousness we were out through. After being denied any type of refund I requested to speak to the owner. The workers said multiple times We cant ever reach him/her on the phone. With staff that are constantly screwing things like this up- YOU NEED TO ANSWER YOUR PHONE.4. TERRIBLE ACCOMMODATIONS- If youre going to make your customers sit and wait for 8 hours while you fix your screw ups- the least you could do is to give them a better room/area to sit in. Ever seen the inside of crackhouse? Me neither- but I expect it to look just like Ultimate Sounds waiting area.

The service was great I told them what I had in mind for my 01 Tahoe, they hooked me up with a double Din that has gps Bluetooth DVD player, I was excited, then they replaced my door speakers and added 15inch sub with a 1500 watt amp.. I went here because they did advertisement for a sale on skar subwoofer when i got there they said the skar 10 subs were on sale for 54.99 it was supposed to be 25% off. I was looking at getting them for my wifes car after looking on skar audio website they listed the same subs for $44.99. They told me they dont compete with online prices. I told them this was the price set by skar audio. This place is so over price. Its sad that they try to charge more then the manufacturer. before you buy from here check they retail value your self dont get rip off by these crooks

I wish i could give this place a negative rating. Ultimate Sounds is the absolute worst shop in Wilmington. The two guys that work there seem to know zero about car audio. Even going as far to call my crossfire amp a no name amp. LOL. Really???? They have the highest prices around and seem to make them up as they feel the need. Called and got a quote on a part and then went there and then was quoted $10 more. The first price was almost double what I could get it for anywhere else. They dont try and work with you on anything. I asked about a certain head unit and was quoted $329. I informed them that the same head unit sold at Best Buy for $229 and was the same at a shop in Jacksonville. He instructed me that I should go get it there then.....LOL. I said I would and promptly let them know I would never spend a dime there again. Also was charged $25 for a PAC bass knob and was told what a deal they where giving me and that they usually sell for $30-$35 dollars. They actually sell for around $13-$15 at the most. If you have money to waste then by all means go see them and let them destroy your car with their shitty install work and high ass prices. They dont even use a ddm or multimeter to tune or check anything. Certainly dont have or use a o-scope. Good thing because they probably wouldnt know how to use any of them anyway. Please dont support these hacks. This is the worst place around for car audio. Ive been doing this for a long time and took my ride there to just get checked out and was told some of the most ridiculous stuff Ive ever heard. I guess because Im a little older he thought I wouldnt know any better. They did nothing....didnt pull a sub....didnt check the amp settings....did nothing but play with the head unit which I had to show him how. Then gave me a bunch of bullshit reasons why I was having the issue I was having. Needless to say a friend actually helped me figure it out and it was something so simple I felt stupid but these guys couldnt figure it out. AVOID THIS SHOP! FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!I felt I needed to share my experience with Ultimate Sounds to try and save others from having to go through what I did. I bought my wife a Nissan 350Z Convertible as a Christmas Present and as a audio enthusiast, I wanted to put a nice sound system in it. We were down in Wilmington for a vacation and I looked around for car stereo installation shops. I found Ultimate Sounds and it seemed like a good option. That is a decision I have come to regret.I went in and talked with them and decided on a Kenwood DVD/Bluetooth head unit. My wife liked to play music from her iPhone and this unit had the ability to link to her iPhone via bluetooth. I also wanted to improve the bass so I bought a JBL amp and a Rockford Fosgate sub to replace the stock Bose sub behind the drivers seat. The total came to about $1000. For some folks, that is a lot for a head unit and sub upgrade, but years ago I used to compete in car audio and knew what I wanted to get.The install took a little longer than planned but I have gotten used to that. When they took me back, the first thing I noticed was that the dash was horribly scratched all around the head unit. They werent going to mention anything to me and I looked at them in disbelief. So you have some background, this car was pristine. My wife kept it immaculate and the dash was like new. What was left after the install was incomprehensible. And them not bringing it up immediately was truly mind boggling, as if I would miss something like this. I only wish I could post a picture of it, you wouldnt believe it. In any event, I told them they were going to have to fix it. Honestly, I could have done a better job myself buying the stuff from Crutchfield and installing it myself. It literally looked like this was the first time they had done this and used a screwdriver to pry the dash off.I walked into the shop and had them write up a promissory note to me saying they would fix it which I still have. I have worked with enough install shops to know that once you leave the shop it is over. The new dash kit is $300 which I certainly dont want to pay for but it cant stay like this, it looks awful.To make matters worse, about 1 week after the install, the subwoofer failed. When I took it to a reputable audio place in Raleigh, they indicated that the install was just atrocious. The sub was not sealed in the box and had blown because of the install and that it wouldnt be covered under the manufacturers warranty because of the install. At this point, all I wanted was my dash back. I wasnt about to buy another sub from Ultimate Sounds so I went ahead and bought one in Raleigh and had them install it. Another $400 out of pocket, but at least it was done right.So to make a long story shorter, I have spent the last year (yep, a year) trying to get them to replace the dash including two separate trips to Wilmington when they said they would have it in, only to mysteriously say it wasnt there when I arrived. I even offered to have them just ship it to Raleigh, which is about a 3 hours drive away so I could have it installed locally. No dice there either.At first, I had a real good feeling that they would take care of it. The owner had talked to me and seemed like a stand up guy and said they would make sure I got it taken care of. Unfortunately, over time, he stopped responding to my emails and I knew it wasnt going to end well.So to say I had a bad experience with Ultimate Sounds is an understatement. I hope this review helps you choose somewhere...anywhere else to get your car audio done. I think of myself as reasonable but this situation was beyond belief. Save yourself the headache and the cost and avoid Ultimate Sounds.

Ultimate sounds is really a good place to shop. They really do know their products. I bought rims and an indash tv, and got them to install my alarm system and they did a great job at all 3. I waited on my rims for a while though. However it want really their fault. It was the rim companys fault. Over all i like Marcos and Jamie. I litterly called the store 100 times asking about my rims and just the fact that they kept it cool with me everytime earns respect in my book. If you want your car hooked up go there. Every where else is a joke!
