I had ordered a replacement crank for a new bike with a manufacturing defect, and they helped me find the correct crank puller compatible for my crank. Simple and easy. Even walked me through the usage for the tool.After dealing with bike x-change for a couple years it was a breath of fresh air. The store was nice and clean with a little hometown charm. No run around and great employees. Would definitely return here for future servicing.
Pretty much a best case scenario situation. The entire staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The owner went so far above and beyond. He tightened the brakes so our daughter wouldn’t have to reach for them. Then he took a lot of extra time to show us everything we needed, including a step by step of how to use the quick release tires and how to use and set the combination of the lock we bought as well. He even helped us load it in the car and gave our girl some birthday stickers.Plus there are dope plants everywhere. This is the spot. Go here.
My son was given a new BMX style bike from a big box store, and it started having issues. We took it into Tom Sawyer to see if they could get it working again. The guy I spoke with had a couple ideas of what it might be and explained it pretty well. Then the owner, Alan, came out and checked on us. I was also looking for a mountain bike for my older son, so I asked him about their selection. Their prices were higher than I had hoped to pay, but Alan gave me some options to look for (and some to stay away from) at big box stores that should still be a decent bike for a lower price. I got a call a few days later saying our bike was fixed, and they explained what the problem had been; it was one of the things they had mentioned when we dropped it off. I was very pleased with the service, knowledge and friendliness of Alan and his staff. They have a new satisfied customer.
Alen not only built the bike rack for us, but he also helped us instal it on our car! A great little shop with great service.

This is a great local bike shop. I took my bike here to have a bent wheel replaced. My back wheel was also straightened. The cost for everything was equal to what another shop wanted for just a wheel replacement. Great value and service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. This bicycle shop is the best Ive ever been to! My fiance wanted to find a quality bike, one he could keep for a long time. We had been all over Wichita looking for what he needed when we saw Tom Sawyer online. They had the best prices so we tried them out. Not only do they have the best prices on race bikes, but the best service I have experienced as well. Alan, who helped us, let him take his time, riding a few different bikes and offering a professional opinion on his fit and uses for the bikes. Once my fiance had made his decision, he even took the bike into the shop and thoroughly looked it over to be sure it was in optimal condition before we took it home. This shop really knows what it means to represent great small businesses.

If you dont think its important to shop local, one visit to Tom Sawyer will change your mind. Ive never felt pushed to buy anything or as though I was only thought of as a potential sale. They clearly love bikes and know what theyre doing.I got a rim straightened for $20 and had it back within a day.Theres a reason they have five stars; theyve earned it.

This bicycle shop SHOULD have the award for best bicycle shop in Wichita! They flat out deserve it! Prices are fantastic on parts and services. This shop has been here for many years and I hope it continues to stay that way! I wouldnt go anywhere else if youre looking for a great bike for a good price.

I went to Tom Sawyer needing my bicycle serviced. They were courteous and professional. I requested the need for quick service and was told that there were several other customers ahead of me. Where Lees often laugh at me when I go for my crappy bike parts, these guys get it for me without batting an eye. I am looking at upgrading my bike and definitely will be going there to buy it. Their parts are often cheaper than most of the bike shops in Wichita and are almost always in stock. When I asked for a crank removal tool, rather than trying to have them do it themselves, they gladly gave me the tool and said it was the one they used in their shop, and then explained to me what I needed to do. Great all around guys.
My Cannondale tires were dry rotted. New kevlar tires and tubes put on in one day. Replace the battery in myAvocet. Great customer service, but what I appreciated most was the hospitality and their friendliness

What a great store. I had bought a set of tires a while back and didnt have a receipt. They allowed me to exchange them for some handle bar tape, tubes and even assembled me a pair of brake pads. Plus put some cash back in my pocket. Thats customer service at its best in my opinion.
