This place is awesome! One stop shop for a million hobbies. Personally I went for the RC cars. Got a Traxxas Rustler with extra battery and charger....came back the next day to dive into the mass of upgrades they carry. Employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful especially Rycher in the RC area.

Great all in 1 stop for cub scout/boy scout supplies and most my hardware needs. Usually a lot easier finding what I need than the big box stores. Probably the best (and last) hobby store in the area with real hobby quality rc cars, planes and copters

Went in to pick up several small items and received help locating them.Also a great hobby shop in the rear of the store.

I gave 5 stars because of good customer service and being located in the rear of a Hardware store. Thats a win win for me. Anyway, the shelves were kinda bare in some sections. Im not sure if theyre remodeling or planning on moving. Either way, good customer won.

I took a propane tank there to get it filled. The manager was super nice and took the filled tank to my car for me. They have always been super friendly and helpful every time I have stepped foot inside the store! I highly recommend. $12.00 for a propane tank fill!!

I was pleasantly surprised by this store. If you are looking for a store with amazing staff that go above and beyond I highly recommend this location. If they don’t have it in their store, they will call another store and have it transferred over to their store. They are a hidden gem!

Nice place but seemed to have higher prices on some models

Hobby area use to be decent. Past few times Ive been there its been bare shelves and good luck trying to get anyone behind the hobby counter to help you, I waited 20mins today to get some help but they would rather talk to each other than do their job. Ill continue to go to Southgate nankins.

Always helpful, polite, and experts in seemingly all area. Love not wandering isle after isle of useless items and not finding anyone who can help. Instantly within minutes I’m greeted and asked if I need any help. Love going to this Ace Hardware in particular.

The people here really know about remote control toys. They reach out to help you and realkyvtry hard to make sure you are happy. They called around until they found my item, and advised me to join their rewards program. I may make this a regular stop now!

Ok to be fair this is basically just an Ace hardware with some higher end model car, plane kits and good amount of comics. The people were super nice but no public bathroom with a small child ended that visit fast!

An elderly gentleman was very helpful..i needed 7 items and he took us to each item..it would have taken me an hour to find everything!..he was great!

Finally realized lowes is for a middle age man to build a bird house and went here for what I needed and guess what they have m6x60mm bolts and more than 6 on the shelf. Amazing

Good store and stuff to buy. Starting Monday, 7/13/2020 the State of Michigan can fine those not following executive order 2020-147 $500 and be subject to a misdemeanor charge for not following the law. We will shop there again and take pictures of those employees not wearing masks and report to the state if we see this happening again. No excuse for this blatant disregard of the mask law and safety of employees and it starts with owner enforcement. Lead by example please.Edit revisit....they have been following guidelines a lot better. Everyone seems to be more compliant. Thanks!!!!Awesome Nankin!!!!!!!

Took my son to the hobby part to get parts for his r/c truckand buy another one. The employees were very knowledgeable and helped him get everything he needed.

An odd mix of a hardware and hobby store. Unfortunately, getting some of the merchandise is a bit inconvenient due to most of it being locked behind glass doors, (they have been having issues with theft) you may need to get an associate to unlock the doors to get the items you need. But the staff is super knowledgeable and helpful.

I went there yesterday to look at some new RC trucks. I asked if they carried the sand track treads that are offered for many RC trucks. The so called Expert looked at me and said I have never heard of it! and laughed in my face. These treaded sand / snow track modules are used in many RC trucks. The proper response to a perspective customer should have been, I dont presently stock those, but I can probably order them for you if you if you can tell me what model you would like? Nankin needs to stop hiring fat kids who still live in their parents basement who claim to be hobby professionals. This is exaclty why nobody wants to be helped by a Know It All who really Knows Nothing! Online hobby stores are winning the game because of real customer service. This review only relates to the Ford Road store. The other Nankin Hobbies Stores are very fine stores. Just this store has questionable hobby employees. This also is not the first time that I have had trouble at this store by a knowledge questionable employee.

Every time I visit the hobby section with my son we receive excellent customer service. We are new to RC cars and when we need help with a repair the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this specific store especially for anything related to RC racing.

They have what you need but if you need anything from the hobby shop get it yourself. The guys back there dont offer any help. When you ask for help they tell you to hang on because theyre busy then proceed to chat with their buddys behind the counter

Went in for staples and nails for craftsman staple gun told they didnt carry the brand. I needed, but I looked around found what I needed. Made sure to let the guy know too.

I love the small hardware store feel. They have an awesome hobby section. My husband is running a pinewood derby. They answered all of our questions about the track. We wont be building one now that we learned that its almost as much to make as buy and kind of complicated to make sure the lanes are all bent and shaped the same. Im glad that didnt try to just sell us a bunch of stuff with no guidance

5/5 Nankin understands that it competes against the local big box stores on service. Service here is always excellent and you can get what you need quickly and easily with assistance that virtually guarantees you wont need to make returns or exchanges. Thank god I have a good hardware store just down the street.

Always has what you need, whether it being in the hardware store section of the store, or the hobby side of things. Never really had a bad experience here. Everyone has ways been quite friendly & helpful, without the over the top push to sell you things. Prices are fair & within range of other hardware stores. The only downside is the location; due to being where it is on Ford Rd. it can sometimes be quite hectic, but usually never a big problem.

This is a five star hardware store. If you cant find it here it just might not be anywhere in Michigan. All kinds of plumbing and pipefittings, nuts and bolts in English and metric, paints stains and weatherproofing materials. In the back is the big kids part of the store which has a complete offering of radio controlled cars, airplanes, drones and whatever. Lots of model trains, parts and accessories, tools and buildings. Oh almost. Left out rockets, kits, motors and everything that pertains to them. For the big kids out there you should probably stay away from the back of the store. If you cant tell them Gary K. sent you and maybe theyll send me your bill. Cheers

This is an ACE Hardware store but way more than a hardware store. They also have an awesome hobby area. Large selection of RC gas powered cars, boats, trucks, planes, helicopters, and parts.

I really like this hardware store but I did not see one employee wearing a mask today. Very disappointing they are not taking this seriously.

Solid and varied selection, helpful staff, fair prices. Plus, its in stock now and you dont have to wait for special orders! I own a non-competing hobby business and when customers call for items I dont carry, this is where I send them.
