Yummy!!! I am so glad we found this gem of a coffee shop for an afternoon pick me up!! The cold brews & iced mocha were AMAZING!

Under new ownership. Sweetwater used to be one of the best local coffee shops. When we 1st moved here, my wife used to love going in there in the mornings. The staff were hip, and engaged with the customers. The new owners just seem to only have family working there. They have been there a month and the service is really awful....slow, inattentive. They rarely(if ever) engage the customer. My coffee was lukewarm yesterday. They messed up our order. The previous time we went there, we left after 10-15 minutes because the service was so slow and they were not handling the customer load effectively. Bring back the local barristas, the ones that made the place fun to visit.

Next level coffee and service.Disregard the negative reviews about masking.-The staff were masked-Seating is spacious and easily facilitates social distancing-It’s physically impossible to drink your coffee with a mask on.When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the Barista, Moriah. She was exceptionally friendly and personable. She offered a sample of espresso and made some killer latte art. The entire experience was inviting and comfortable.The layout inside is unique and there is ample seating. I will definitely be coming back ASAP.

Absolutely adore this place! They have incredible coffee (I highly recommend the Dreamy Cold Brew 😋) and the service is great. Skip the Starbucks, skip Smokey Row..Go here! They also have an awesome amount of space for studying and/or meetings. I’ll drive way out of my way to go here. 💕

Service is friendly and efficient. Clean, inviting atmosphere. A great place to meet up with friends, support a locally owned coffee shop and avoid lines at the mall. You wont regret it.

I tried French Vietnamese & Dreamy Cold brew coffee here and really liked them.But I think the staff can be a little more friendly.

Impressed after my first visit. Place is cozy and clean. Staff provided exceptional service, and coffee was made with effort. Dessert selection was also expansive. I was not familiar with Sweetwater as a brand before but I could see they fused Asian influence into their products and that makes Sweetwater a unique shop in the DSM Metro.

I went for the first time yesterday and the young woman helping was so nice! She let me smell and look at a bunch of difference teas before I made my decision! I ended up getting the pomegranate green tea and it was delicious! I will be back soon!

Not only is the coffee and atmosphere amazing, but the staff is what makes it INCREDIBLE. They remembered my name after only being there once or twice, they are always so helpful and patient in helping me find the drink best suited for me, and you can tell they truly care 💕 I come here multiple times a week because I know it’s always going to be a great experience - especially when I get to see all the different dogs that come in 🥰

Yeah we came in close to close (30 minutes before), but that still doesnt explain why they couldnt ice a tea drink. That aside, the tea wasnt impressive and quite expensive

What an inviting atmosphere! Bakery case looked delicious. I had a decaf Americano and it was waaaaay better than Sbux my go-to and $1 cheaper. Super friendly staff. Varied seating area for a wide range of settings for meeting with a friend. Totally impressed and DEFINITELY returning!!!

Used to LOVE this place. Today I went in to find 12 maskless people chatting away at tables and chairs throughout the small shop!!! I was SHOCKED!!!! TWELVE! The workers are nice enough but they operate as if were not in a pandemic. Go at your own risk.In response to the response from the owner: AS I SAID ABOVE GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Also the ownership seems super questionable. Wouldve been so somewhere I still recommended and returned to post pandemic but not now. The employees DONT always wear masks, as many other reviews, or a trip to the store would attest to, and the owner is less than friendly or responsive to customers.

I have not been here previously and was very impressed! The barista was friendly, and very helpful in finding me something new and delicious! Anytime Im over in the Jordan creek area Ill definitely stop in!

Lets break this down into three pieces. First the coffee is always on point. The espresso they use is not bitter like many commercial companies. The drinks are well balanced and not too sweet. I like the creativity and international influences in their recipies. Second, the service never disappoints. Today I went in and asked for a recommendation. Instead of just making a normal drink, they experimented and created something that I liked based off of my pallet. It was really great to see people enjoying to interact with customers. Third is the atmosphere. They have this clean and finished look inside the place. Its a nice environment to chill, study or just go on a date. 11/10 would recommend.

I personally love their lattes and chai teas! My kids enjoy their macaroons and treats! There is such a nice atmosphere and my family and I have appreciated how welcome their baristas have always made us feel!

This was my first time visiting Sweetwaters and I will definitely go back! the barista was very helpful in describing the holiday drinks...the Eggnog Latte was delicious! The dining area was very clean, inviting, and cozy, which is a huge plus.

I went in there Tuesday morning and there was a girl working who was just so very kind. I got a chai tea latte that was very good as well. I stop there sometimes before work and it’s become one of my favorite spots!

Went in this morning for something different than Starbucks. None of the workers were wearing masks. I was one of the two people in the shop wearing a mask and distancing. The barista gave me a suggestion on what to order and I took it as the menu is incredibly confusing. I got a cold brew with flavoring and cream, it was a little bland. Nothing special. Not somewhere I will be returning during covid

Hands down, one of the best coffee shops in the area. This place has such a cute and modern feel with the sweetest cold brew ever!! I love how this place is so bright with all of the high-ceiling windows even on a gloomy day. The salted-caramel cookie sold there is a must, the desserts are always fresh and the teas/coffees are of high-quality. Even though, I dont live that close, I still try to come as often as possible. :-)

Amazing staff that works here. They are very kind and completely focused on customer experience. The drinks are very unique and well though out. You can go in to try something you’ve probably never experienced or you can stop by for a really good cup of coffee. This place is the real deal. The women who run this Sweet Waters are all lights! The products on their own are quality and delicious, but everything tastes better with staff so positive and kind. The cold brew is to die for and the atmosphere is cleanly and chill💕

Im a big iced coffee/cold brew fan. The Dreamy Cold Brew has just right amount of sweetness. Love it!

French Vietnamese au lait was different and really really good! It was hot, strong, freshly brewed with interesting undertones of sweet herbness. No drive thru, though, but free dog treats and bowl of water outside for my canine friend.

I love this place! The dreamy is a must try if you like cold brew. They have a water-vapor fireplace which is probably the coolest thing ever and a patio! Even dog-friendly! I highly recommend everyone stop in and try this place out. The staff is also super friendly!

There are five reasons for five-stars on this one:1) They just opened this week and Ive enjoyed it enough to stop by a few times!2) Jordan Creek is nice but also full of places weve all been to a thousand times - so its cool to have this unique option.3) The service has been consistently kind and helpful. On one of my trips I was ordering for 10 co-workers and the staff, although new, didnt get frazzled.4) The space is really well done and clean. They have artwork from local artists and even had live music when I stopped in on Sunday. Top-shelf alternative 90s covers and good bean juice? Thats a dream.5) The coffee is awesome! Ive tried the cold brew and iced Americano - ask for the premium espresso! I bought a bag of their coffee of the month after trying a sample, and they did a solid coarse grind so I can make cold brew at home.

Customer service here is just amazing. They remember my name and even what is going on in my life. They are always cheerful and have a different selection of food and drink compared to other coffee shops.

What. A. TREAT! Stopped in a whim when I was in area and was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this place is! Seriously a gem! How have I missed this?? The staff were super nice and helpful with helping me decide on what to order (I can be picky!) and the place itself is modern, but still has that cozy coffee shop atmosphere! Definitely returning and would recommend to any other coffee lovers out there! ❤️☕️

Love this coffee shop!! Awesome atmosphere, awesome staff, and our kids love the smoothies! Not to mention the electric fireplace definitely keeps them entertained!! Highly recommend the passion fruit tea and the dirty espresso cold brew! So yummy! We will definitely be back!!!!!

My favorite place to grab coffee

Im a downtown guy and was excited to check out this independent suburb cafe. I arrived first and was greeted by friendly staff. When I asked about their preference for bagel or biscuit breakfast sandwich I was advised biscuit which was a good choice. My coffee was good, Internet was fast, lots of plug in for charging and bathrooms were clean. If I had to critique I would note that the high ceilings and hard surfaces make for echos and a bit too much background noise. Next time I am meeting in the area I will suggest sweetwaters!

Great service! The ginger lemon tea is delicious and has such great flavor. No need to add anything to this tea. The two lady’s working this morning were very helpful and definitely brightened the day!

I had never been there before (usually a Starbucks person) but I stopped in, as I was needing a fix. VERY, VERY nice place! I dont think there was a speck of dust in the place and the barista, Kailey, was super friendly! She made my drink perfectly and was so nice! When Im in the area, Ill 100% stop there again! Swearing off Starbucks from now on when Im near there!

The staff there did an excellent job in helping me select an amazing hot tea with honey and ginger. Very helpful and will definitely be coming there again and bringing more people with me.

If youre looking for a place to catch up with friends, work remotely or conduct meetings, Sweetwaters Coffee has the right ambience for it! Some outdoor seating is available too!

Great new place! Super friendly staff. Smooth cold brew. Quite a few outlets for computer work. Will definitely be back. **DIRECTIONS HELP/IF YOUR PHONE TAKES YOU TO THE WRONG PLACE LIKE MINE DID: My Google directions took me to the Residence Inn (south of the mall); I have no idea why but this is not at all the right place. The coffee shop is located WEST of the mall, in a strip mall that also has a CycleBar and a smoothie place, so if you see these places youre heading the right way! If you want to put this place into your GPS/phone, it would be easier to actually input CycleBar because this WILL get you to the right place (based on personal experience after much trial and error/driving in circles).

Found this place during the end of a long project at work and my coworker and I made it part of our morning routine. The coffee is delicious, but the staff are what really sets this place apart. They learned both of our names in two days. The staff are so nice and always smiling. If Im ever back in Des Moines, I will for sure visit them!

I love the coffee and the atmosphere but most likely won’t be back. I asked for a small cold brew and was told they only sell cold brew in the 20 oz cup. I told her that was too much for me, and asked her if she could just put some in one of their smaller cups. She responded with, “I could do that but will have to charge you for the 20 oz.” Cold brew is pre-made and literally poured in the cup when you order it, so I’m beyond baffled that they won’t, in order to give a customer a great experience, allow for a smaller size. I asked the gal to let the manger know that while I love their coffee I’ll have to go somewhere else next time so I can get the size of coffee that I like without having to pay extra for it. She responded with, “Its a corporate thing so...” In other words, not interested in my opinion. I prefer to talk to a manager vs writing a negative review, but when I’m told management won’t listen because of corporate bullsh*t, I guess I’ll write an honest review. The gal was nice enough and I’m sure was following policy, but the interaction left a bad feeling in my gut and I’m not OK with that. Good thing for me, there are so many coffee shops in this area; it won’t be hard to find one that will care what their customers have to say.

The building and bathroom is very clean, employees are all super friendly, the look of the place is very cute, the music they play is pretty soothing, there are outlets to charge and comfy spots to work, and the coffee is really tasty!!!! definitely reccomend
