I live in Cedarburg and work in West Bend, having just started a new job, and my brakes needed repair. I dont have a family member who could help with transportation. I called Half-Price Auto Repair and explained my dilemma. A two minute conversation, and I had never done business with them before...it was arranged that they would pick up my car where it was parked in West Bend, take it to their shop and repair it, and return it to the parking spot before I got off work. They stayed in communication with me throughout the day, let me know the estimated repair cost before they began work, called for payment when it was done. The price was extremely reasonable. I had been so stressed out about my car, but they made everything easy for me. I cant thank them enough. But I would recommend them to anyone. With the shortage of new cars, I will imagine a lot of people will be opting to keep their old cars going a bit longer. Half-Price Auto Repair will do right by you.

Not a car savvy person at all. However the guys knew exactly what I was talking about when I described my issues. Asked me to bring it in a day or 2 cause they were swamped. My car barely made it a black away. They took my car right then and there and even offered me a ride home. I had a brother close by. However they knew my situation and I needed my car for work and squeezed me in and even stayed late to make sure my car was ready for work the next day. So extremely happy with the results and super happy with their thoughtfulness and kindness. You dont get that a lot these days. Will bring my car here from now on.

John and his crew of mechanics are the best in the business! They go above and beyond to make sure everything is done right and quickly! The quality of their work is top notch! I will never go anywhere else for any work I need done on my car and I recommend him to everyone who wants quality and timely work done at a low and reasonable price range! He will never upcharge you or convince you that they need to do more work than is needed, just to charge you more money. He is the most honest and upstanding guy in the business and he will never let you down!

Very professional and friendly. They got the oil changed and tires rotated in a very timely manner. Bonus - discounted price for synthetic oil change and they also were offering a free oil change for people that use conventional oil. Employee said the owner wanted to give back to the community during these times.... so awesome!Then, they had the vehicle pulled up to the front door for me which was very nice and convenient. Ive already referred friends to this establishment. 😊

If you want a fair honest mechanic Id go here again in a heartbeat. He is usually busy so be ready to be patient.

Great work had too many repairs to list all but water pump tie rods timing belt and drivers side door handle were all replaced and they did A1 work at a great price. couldn’t be happier will use half price for all my cars and needs will definitely refer thanks guys!!!

I recently had an employee bring a work vehicle in for pads and rotors.Theres an estimate with full details provided and a fair price with a guarantee of at least one year. Its hard to ask for more.

Excellent Service, highly recommend for any auto repair. Tires, brakes, battery all replaced. Found electrical wiring issue and also repaired. Everything very reasonable and also very professional. Repaired our 2 vehicles and will be going back when needed again.

First off, the owner of the business saw a need given the pandemic and is essentially covering $20 per oil change, making full synthetic about $35.The fact that a shop does giving up any amount of money in favor of their customers should make you go there right away.Robert, the kind soul that helped me out, even did a bit of something that he didnt charge me for, its hard to find good people doing good work these days.Highly recommended.

AVOID!! First of all, theres a 4% surcharge for using a credit card. I didnt see this because I didnt step into the building until I was picking up. It was 15 minutes before closing and I had no way to get a check or cash in the time allotted.They dont line item services, just says part and install with 1 price. We should get details on parts cost, labor costs, time etc. Really kind of an amateur setup. Sorry, but details should be provided on what cost what, labor time etc.Then theres the unauthorized work performed of a front end alignment. He mentioned over the phone the tires were wearing funny and asked if I new front struts. Told him I had tie rods, ball joints and struts done late last spring. At that point I had an alignment done which had a 12 month warranty. So they checked and repaired without me saying to perform that. So I had to pay for something that I never authorized. I could of stood there and argued but I had leave(more on that later).Customer service just plain sucks. When I called Wednesday morning to see if they could look they said drop off this morning. Well I work 8 to 4:30 and said I would drop off after hours. Got those details. Dropped off. Thursday morning at 12:30, no emails no contact no nothing. So I called them. Got put on hold, than hung up on(it happens). So I called back, was told they test drove and said couldnt duplicate. So he said hed put it on the rack and check underneath. At 3:15 I called back since they close at 5 and said its the u-joint which is what i told him on the phone Wednesday morning.So he says You didnt want the car back today did you? Um yeah, its 0 degrees and a 28 mile walk to work without a car so I needed a rental. Well never heard another word of them Thursday, so Im stuck. 2nd day of rental car.Friday rolls around no calls in the morning. Not wanting to a pest I wait until the afternoon. I called at 2:30 because I was getting nervous. Owner answered and said cars all done come pick it up. I said Im at work until 4:30, can I make payment over the phone and pickup after hours. He says sure but he cant take payments and they would call me shortly. 3:00 no call, 3:30 no call, 4:00 no call. So at 4:15 I pack up my laptop and head up to get the car. I couldnt take the chance of them not closing out my bill and since theyre not open on weekends being without my car for the weekend. Get there at 4:40ish and wait about 5 minutes before someone shows at the counter. Get told the total, make the payment and head home so I can finish the days work.As for repair quality, cant tell you as of yet but if its anything like their customer service and communication, it likely sucks or is barely adequate.So yeah next time Ill go to Bobs up the street or just about anywhere else. Ive said my peace.Well thats the nice thing about credit cards, charge back for unsolicited services.As for not being happy with a service center its not that Im unhappy with them as much as Ive moved and theyre no longer convenient.

Dont let the name make you nervous, these guys do great work for a great price. My sons car needed a clutch put in it and I took it first to another shop in town. Got a really high quote so I called around and found Half-Price Auto. True to their name, their quote for the exact same work was almost half what that other shop quoted me. They were great working with me to get the car in quickly, they did the whole job in one day and were proactive in reaching out to me about another item they felt should be replaced at the same time to save me money. A+++ all around.

Got an oil change and tire rotation. It was done quick and was really aggressively priced compared to other shops. Will use them again for sure.

This place is great. I started going there about 10 years ago when I was told by a different auto shop that I needed a new battery before winter. When I took my car in to half price auto a few days later and told the owner I needed a new battery, he took my car and about 10 minutes later came out to inform me that my battery was fine (sure enough, it made it through winter with no problem). Since I know nothing of cars, I appreciate knowing that they arent just going to provide unnecessary services because it would be easy to take my money.

I had to have my struts replaced and the total came out to 791 dollars but when I called the owner he not only was able to lower the price down to 550.00 dollars but he also told me tht we could just do one strut for half of the 550 and then when I had the rest he could do the other strut. Now normally you want to get both struts done at the same time cuz if u only get one done the car sits kinda funny but the fact tht they offered to work on just the strut tht needed the work was awesome.. Now mind u I did go back couple days later to get the other strut fixed. I would recommend this place to anyone with car issues cuz not only are they friendly but they also understand you an work with you the best they can

Six stars if that’s possible...I took my truck into Half Price Auto for a checkup before taking a long trip. Fortunately, they were able to identify some problems in the front end (ball joints, etc.) that they were able to fix before my trip. I now feel much more secure and confident that my truck will get me there safely. No one wants a breakdown on the road! Although it was a big fix, the bill was very reasonable. They even told me to put some miles on it and they’d check things again before I departed. I can’t recommend them highly enough, John the owner, and his skilled staff, Phil, Anthony (and Anthony’s cousin), and Mary, who ably runs the desk. Do yourself a favor and go here before the word gets out. I would too, but I’m from out of state.

John is awesome and goes to lengths to get the job done. I went in to have my back caliper looked at Bobs Towing because it was frozen. (Took a day). 70 for the diagnostic fee and 1190 for the repair. I called around for different prices and Goodyear was 790, but I ultimately went to Half Price Auto, John said theyd look at my brakes for free and did determine I needed to replace the whole back brake system, however I was only charged 613 dollars which is truly half the price and their work looks good. Because of this, I highly recommend Half Price Auto. My brakes were done in 2.5 hours for half the price, while other places would have needed to order parts.

They diagnosed the check engine light, ordered and replaced the part and had me on the road the next day.

Very fast, friendly, helpful service with very fair prices. I needed a thermostat done ASAP and they got me in right away and even stayed late to finish the job. They worked around my needs and were very accommodating. I would recommend them to anyone. Great service 👍

Ive come here a few times for oil changes and minor repairs to try them out. There prices were good enough to keep me coming back. I called last week to see if I could get in for an oil change. I was told they were backed up, but I could bring it in the following week. They scheduled it for 10am this morning. When I got there, i was told they couldnt get me in for another week! It didnt matter that it was scheduled. This was the second time this happened. The first time, it was John who scheduled it. The guy I spoke to at the counter went out in the shop to ask John what to do and I heard John tell him to get rid of me. That person then told me how badly John treats his employees and tried to get me to use him on the side. I decided to give this place a second chance, but there wont be a third. I actually need to get a bunch of work done on my sons car and was going to talk to them about it today, but they wont be getting that work either. I guess the search continues for a good repair shop with reasonable rates.

To know John is to love to John. Hes honest and tells it like it is! He has a hard working crew (Anthony, Julian, Brandon) to name a few and they have been known to work through lunch OR work after hours to get your vehicle done. Half-price Auto has been maintaining all 4 of my families vehicles. All 4 vehicles have high mileage (2 have 150,000+ and 2 have 250,000+) and they keep them running for us with hopes to reach 300,000 miles. My family has saved thousands of dollars over the years by getting work done here including those $12.00 oil changes. I would highly recommend this business to anyone!!

Very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Me and my friend are both good when it comes to the vehicles however every now and then I still have to bring it in and have service work done either because I dont have the tools or the time. John is the only one I trust my car too for things I cant do myself. He has never taken advantage of me and always gives me a deal even if I bring my own Parts in I highly recommend this place if you want your car fixed. He also has a great sense of humor and talks to you like a friend not just a customer.

First time here for an oil change and I will definitely be back for other service. The place is really nice inside. They were super fast and extremely nice. They didnt try forcing me into other things like plenty of other places have tried before. So if any of you are looking for a relaxing place this is it. I was treated like person and not a dollar sign.

Anthony and the half price auto team helped me out in a pinch to replace a headlight. Great customer service, called on a Friday after 4pm and they were able to fix it before they left for the day without an appointment. Highly recommend them!!!

They saved me so much money. They gave me very helpful advice over there phone about what to do about my immediate problem for the lowest cost. I thought there might be further problems with my car, and they checked it, no charge. The dealer would have charged $100 just to check.Their location itself is nothing fancy, but dont be put off by that. They are the most honest, helpful, and least expensive option, for car troubles or even just for an oil change.

No matter what the issue with my car is that I bring in to John he always has a solution. I always feel confident in his plan and repairs. Never had an issue with any repairs. Repeatedly has saved us hundreds of dollars on repairs. John doesnt charge for most diagnostic work and does not surprise you with unnecessary work. His price is always the price he quotes. I have stopped getting second opinions on any of our three vehicles because the dealer quotes were always much higher, (hundreds), for the same work. Needed a quick headlight replacement, called from down the road (not sure how long it would take) they had me come in to take a look and fixed it on the spot. 30 minutes, in and out with other cars in the shop. I love that I can trust John to tell me what really needs to be fixed and what is not a big deal worth fixing (IE: minor oil leak that is more economically managed by adding a quart of oil periodically). Also, I really appreciate knowing he is going to do a good job & get it done for the best price I would find. Plus, you cant beat a $12 oil change!

Great shop with great prices, but more than that they are honest. They will tell you what is wrong with your vehicle and fix it. They won’t say nothing is wrong when something is. Sometimes honest answers are ones we don’t want to hear, but would you rather have honesty up front or cost you more money long run? Will not take my cars anywhere else and will be recommending others.

As someone who knows nothing about cars, I have always worried about getting ripped off, because it wouldnt be hard to do. Over the past six years, John has not only provided awesome service (quickly) for cheaper than Id been quoted elsewhere, hes also talked me out of services which other shops said I needed that I ended up being fine without, which is why this is the only shop I will bring my cars to anymore. This is such an honest shop and they really do provide excellent service! :)

I have been taking my cars here for service for everything from oil changes to major repairs including motor rebuilding, suspension repairs, and brakes. The jobs have always been done right and in a timely manner. The price has always been as quoted and has always been reasonable. On one occasion, my car had broken down while I was out of town, and the owner spent a half hour on the phone with me helping me troubleshoot and solve the problem!!! My review would be better if I wouldnt be experiencing the issue I am having now. I had things do to my car here with no problems but as of now its the 3rd day that my trying to call to get an oil change done. No one answers the phone or even returns a phone call when a message has been left.

Never had a problem here, they always take good care of me and my vehicles i recommend coming here. From old vehicles to new vehicles theyll help you. I had 1992 Ford truck and they help keep that truck running until i was able to get a new one which now i have a 2004 Ford truck they are taking care of it. Thumbs up to these guys.

My car didnt start today and I always bring my car here for service all I did was call John and tell him my car wouldnt start and the battery was dead he came right over to jump start my car and then told me just to go to AutoZone and they will put a battery in for free because if he does it then theres a charge. Ive never been to a shop thats truly that honest when it comes to fixing my car I dont believe any other shop wouldnt have tried to sell me a battery on top of that he didnt even charge me for coming out to jump start it. If youre really looking for the best shop around theres no doubt this is the place.
