I had an online shopping experience fall through for an upcoming wedding and ended up at India Art and Craft. I am so glad I found the shop. The owner was so helpful and lovely and answered all of my questions. I left with a beautiful outfit that I am eager to wear. I do very little in person shopping these days but I wish I had come here in the first place rather than ordering something online. Highly recommend.

This store was exactly what we were looking for, as we were shopping for outfits for an Indian weeding. The owner was very kind and helpful to us. Prior to this I was getting overwhelmed with options and online shopping. But we got to this shop and the owner spent so much time helping us to find the perfect items. I had passed here tons of times growing up and happened to find it again when searching for a place to buy an outfit for my friends wedding. I have probably never gotten such great customer service, he was super helpful, let me try on a lot of things and even made the suggestion for the outfit that got the brides approval 😭 prices were super reasonable, would definitely shop here again if the need arose.

I ordered some traditional belly dancing scarves. I’ve been a belly dancer for many years and have worn a lot of costumes. Indian Art & Craft ranks high on my favorites list. They are a great company who sent everything nicely packaged and it got here quickly.

Great little shop packed with goodies and fun stuff. After discovering this place on a recent trip to DC, I spend a load of money buying stuff I didnt need but couldnt pass up. I was so pleased with my ability to toss caution to the wind that I went back 3 days later to see how much more I could fit in my suitcase. Do not be surprised if the man behind the counter absolutely insists he is giving you a terrific deal. Maybe he is. Maybe he isnt. The prices seemed reasonable to me. The saris are incredibly beautiful.

My mother-in-law is from India and I wanted to get her something traditional for Christmas. She was so overwhelmed that she cried. It meant so much to her that I took her culture into consideration and gave her something truly from home.

I was referred to this site by a friend and must say, I rate customer service top-notch. The owner understood my niece was attending a wedding. I let him know that we wanted to purchase from the pre-made selection. He dressed the mannequin many times, addressing the her wishes and needs. He sent over a dozen photos having dressed and redressed the mannequin. He even offered sizing and better options for her figure based on American sizes. He posted the mailing within minutes of me making the purchase. Vijay is a consummate professional…he even chose matching earrings and a bindi gratis. Anyone who shops here will not be disappointed.

Excellent little store in which to be fitted and styled for outfits for an upcoming Indian wedding! Vijay worked with us to pick out colors and sizes for (apologies for typos) saris, shalwar kameezes, and choli skirt outfits that looked BEAUTIFUL. It’s a small shop with a small fitting room, but an amazing number of options. Vijay also taught us how to wrap and style our saris. We tried another shop, India Sari Palace in Silver Spring, last week which was a total dud. Had a wonderful experience at India Art & Craft. My girlfriend and I look like princesses!

Great finds, great prices

I found Vijay through a google search and reached out via the submission for on his website. My request was for a sari to arrive to me within 3 days. He texted me working 1 hour to say the message was received and he would make it happen! I received dozens and photos of saris, each draped on mannequins (not just laid out on a table) within a few hours, and a photo of the package and tracking number 30 minutes after making my selection. The package arrived the next day. This is the best customer service I’ve received in the years! Thank you, Vijay!

I went here for a traditional outfit for a wedding I am going to in south India. I had no idea where to start and the sales manager was an amazing, friendly, and genuine help. He even went out of his way and hooked me up with some great deals. He was a great and so excited for my experience, incredibly friendly. While this shop is small and quaint, it boasts high quality products backed by excellent customer service. There are lots of indian outfits to choose from - men and womens for different sizes. I bought 3 suits from here - one for myself and the other two for my fiancee. The owner is very friendly with room to negotiate - I bought all 3 outfits for $300. I highly recommend coming here for an outfit or 2, you wont leave empty-handed or disappointed.

Good store but they were closed at 3 pm on Sunday when it said they were open until 5 pm.

I was going to get on the metro after the Zoo, I hadnt been there since 15 years ago and decided to walk down and see if there was anything to take home to eat and started walking to Chipotles when I smelled the incense and it lured me in. The store owners are very nice and I got two lovely tops and some incense. I will be back. Nice shop.

I came here to find something special to wear for my wedding day. They were sooo nice and wouldnt let me leave until I was happy. They really went out their way to help me find what I needed. They also took the time to show me how to put it on, take it off and properly wear it...LOVE IT

I came here to find a pashmina shawl, and was very pleased with the selection. The shop is quite small but packed with clothing, and its well-organized. I didnt feel pressured at all by the staff to buy anything, and although the shawl I selected is undoubtedly much cheaper in India, $20 is a reasonable price for DC. The shawl is of great quality, and I wear it often!
