Went to Sears in Washington MO. to have a craftsman 1/2 ratchet replaced on warranty. The store clerk said he wouldnt be able to replace it and so did West Lake Hardware in Washington, they both handle Craftsman tools but the fellow at Sears gave me another returned ratchet for the part that I needed. Even though Sears wont back there lifetime tools, this store clerk sure did his best...Hope he finds a good paying job that appreciates him like I do.
I bought a washer and dryer at this store 1 year ago because I wanted to buy local and had always respected Sears reputation. Over the past year I have had 4 service calls, the owner has never called me back after several messages left, told to call service. 4 service calls later washer still stinks- was told to clean washer with borax, because it stinks after a few days if I don’t do laundry. Each service tech which is set up through call center in Philippines, gave every excuse from I don’t know how to do laundry after 50 years to there is always water in washer. Now my 1 year warranty is coming to an end and can’t get a service call until after date so will have to pay- which I will not!! Never buy Sears! They are no longer the company they once were!!!The technicians only showed up after many cancellations and no shows. The last technician which will be the last was the only one Michael was his name that knew anything about servicing a washer.I spoke to Charles and stated I said I was going to bring product back and they said that I couldn’t do that!! Well come to find out after much research you can bring product back to store you bought it from! The actions of filing appropriate consumer complaints, atty general, bbb, and filing lemon law dispute! The charges from going to laundromat at $18.00 a week for probably 12 of the last 52 weeks of this past year!!!All so ridiculous and infuriating!!So angry but also so sad that I thought I chose properly to help during pandemic- wrong choice!!! I chose to buy from a local business when I could have easily walked across street to Lowe’s.After my initial bad review the Mike managers/owners replied as you can see below what remedies I could take in regards to it smelling etc. well those might have worked if I had a WORKING WASHING MACHINE !!!!This franchise owner will take your money and will not stand behind his products- I have yet to ever receive a call from either Mike! Do not buy from Sears Washington Hometown Store!!This is the only time I have ever made a known complaint for everyone to be aware, so very sad and that they do not care about the people they sell too, or help them with a solution or even a call back! Pathetic!
I purchased a Maytag dishwasher there the end of July and has leaked ever since. The Mikes are a joke. A bunch of whiners.,One appt. Cancelled. Finally today a repair man can. Needs to order all new parts underneath. A brand new dishwasher.I think they should give me a new one.Last thing I will never buy from there again
Very impressed with the helpfulness of the staff. They know exactly what theyre doing. I went in and was pleased they had what I needed in stock as its usually an item you have to order where ever you go. I wasnt rushed and wasnt pressured to look at anything on the sales floor. There was a couple things I was interested in but was short on time but will be back to check it out. This place was exceptionally clean. I will recommend this store. Thank you for all your help!
Bought a new vacuum this afternoon. Kenmore cannister type. Runs great and does a nice job sucking up my shepherds hair. Wounderful service as well.
Simply asked the man to purchase a 92 1/4L1/2in. W belt for dryer. Insisted that it doesnt work like that and needed the model number. Even after I pointed to the exact same dryer I have. Will be going back to Lowes to purchase new Washer/Dryer, much nicer/cheaper and willing to assist.
Knowledgeable employees. Hometown service. Nice place.
Best little store i have ever visited, great service and they back what they say. Excellent experience
The store owner, Mike, personally answered the phone and helped me with a customer service issue that I had been having. He was friendly and helpful and I will be driving 45 minutes out of my way to use his Sears store for all future purchases! He was extremely helpful where all other customer service attempts had failed. He absolutely made my day!
Very helpful and good prices. Had some hiccups on getting installed but they worked them out. Very happy.
Always great people and service
I was looking for a small refrigerator for my garage. They showed me 2 in my price range 1 used and 1 new. I decided on the new. They were very helpful in explaining delivery, and extended warranty. I would definitely recommend them from my experiences.
Clean place and good service
Great place and so helpful!!! I will buy here anytime I need an appliance or anything else as far as that goes. Service is excellent couldn’t ask for better! Thanks Mike for an awesome store.
I want to thank Mike from the Washington Missouri Sear store for all his help. He did in a week what I had tried to do in 2 months. I would also like to thank Ed from A&E service for all his help. Without these two guy’s I would never got my issue resolved. Thank you again Mike and Ed for all your help.
Had to exchange some worn out tools. Very good service. Some screwdriver they did not have in store, so they ordered them for me. Its been along time since i went to a store and they took care of me like a customer. Good job guys!
Was busy and they seemed to be understaffed, but they helped quickly when they could. No mask required which is a plus for me as an anti masker.
I ordered a 299 piece socket set and there were 4 sockets missing... i have called repeatedly and even talked to one of the owners and on 3 separate occasions they have taken the product numbers and descriptions of the sockets and tell me they will be in in 2 to 3 weeks. But I never get a call from them and when I call they tell me we will have to order it again. I have dealt with this for over 3 months. You would think being a small home town store their customer service would be better especially since all other sears stores are closing. Very very sad. I. An not recommend this store to anyone.
Great place to shop for all your needs. Recently opened up an appliance and lawn and garden repair center with in house technicians to go the extra step in helping to be the one stop shop for your appliance and equipment needs. Great tool selection and staff as well
Mike is a nice guy and will get you what you need.
No social distancing. No employees wearing a mask. Shop there at your own risk.UPDATE: The three sentences above were my initial review of the store .Wearing a mask is a simple step one can take to reduce the risk of exposure to people around them. It seemed reasonable to post a review that would let those concerned about the risk of exposure to Covid 19 know what they were in for. A few hours after my visit, I received the message below from the owner, Mike Rains.Just noticed your negative review on my stores Google page. Can you elaborate as to why you chose to take it upon yourself to negatively impact a small business that is locally owned and operated? Especially in a time that it is already difficult to stay succesfull in the small business world? All of our employees have the freedom to choose for themselves as to whether or not they want to wear a mask just as you have to freedom to shop where you please. We sanitize and clean multiple times daily as well as have hand sanitizer readily available for all who shop. Your petty review is something that directly affects all of our employees and our small business, and quite frankly I feel is something you should be ashamed of. Our community, our county, and not to mention our state have not mandated wearing a mask and we will continue to allow our employees and our customer to make their own decision.I take your negative review personally. Plus I feel it is proof that you are gutless and simply a keyboard warrior. As the owner of this store, who was in store ALL DAY EVERYDAY this week, and never heard a peep of a complaint from anyone, including yourself I would say you sir should keep your opinions to yourself in the future unless you have the gall to have a discussion with either:1 a manager; or 2 the owner of the establishment. I hope you feel justified in your damaging to a small family owned business that is continually doing our best to improve and succeed in these trying times. I understand this all may come across as brash but I take our business very seriously and I feel your bad review is quite unjustified. Do our entire business a favor and please keep to yourself in the future!! In addition to all of this, do yourself a favor, just stay isolated and to yourself if all of this fear mongering is going to your head. You sir are part of the problem not the solution. Take my advise and if you aim to be a part of the solution dont do it from behind a keyboard, man up and have a true discussion. Take care and enjoy your weekend, just be sure to stay isolated in your fear.
I have nothing but positive things to say about the new owners. I have visited this store in the past and wasnt very impressed but decided to give it another try because I love to support locally owned stores in my hometown. Upon my recent visit, I was greeted at the door with a smile and a kind hello. Mike R., the owner, was very knowledgeable and helped me find exactly what I needed. I was in and out quickly and the prices were really good. The sale was wonderful. I have been spreading the word about my new experience and will no doubt visit this Sears location again. I definitely recommend shopping here
I was just in the Washington Sears Hometown Store looking for gifts for the men in my life for Christmas. I always shop local first. One of the employees opened the door for me with a smile as soon as I walked up, so welcoming. It was set up nicely for the holidays and organized for easy shopping. I bought several items for both my dad and brothers and even saved money because they had a good sale.I will be visiting again soon for sure!
First went to Lowe’s. Customer service was awful. No one wanted to help or seemed to care about their job. Stopped in at Sears to find a fridge and Mike was the most helpful in finding what I needed. I will forever be a Sears customer because they seem to care the most about taking care of customers. Thanks Mike!
Great store. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. Highly recommend
Went in and asked if they had chest freezers. The guy said they could order one and it would be there in 3 days no problem. I explained how id just been to lowes and they said they couldnt tell me when new orders would show up. Sears guy said absolutely our freezer would be in in 3 days and he wpuld call us. 4 days later I called them and asked what was up. They said my freezer was not on the truck, they only get 2 trucks a week and they had no idea when or IF my freezer would ever show up! I understand this is a weird time in the world and shipments are delayed etc, but the only reason i placed my order was because the salesman PROMISED sears had no delays and my freezer would be on time for sure. I feel like he knowingly lied and misled me. Everytime ive dealt with this sears they have lied to me. Thought id give them one more chance and they lied again. Never trusting sears again!
Super Customer Service! Needed an Induction range, and Sears in Washington, MO was able to beat the price at Lowes and get it delivered faster! Their service exceeded all other stores we visited. We will be back, for sure!
Knowledgeable and friendly staff offering quality customer support that’s missing from big box stores.
Very nice people who went out of their way for us.
Great customer service! Very friendly and helpful staff!
Sears in Washington MO has a 15% RESTOCKING FEE, NO way to get around it. You cant return any items to the nearest Sears stores. Chesterfield store is going threw liquidation. No time telling what is going to happen with the St Peters store. BUT that doesnt matter, If you buy in Washington MO, you cant bring it to another Sears to return it. YOU ARE SCREWED. Be very careful what you purchase and give great thought before you buy it. BASICALLY you will fight to get your money back!!!!!
This is a great locally owned store with a young entrepreneur trying to make his way he will give you the best price possible and more importantly the best service because they want to earn your business and happy to have it. I would definitely recommend them.
Although the socket wasnt available that was needed, staff checked and was apologetic. They were as disappointed as we were.
The sales man showed me exactly what I was looking for. He listened to what I did and did not want. Key words he listened. I wish more sales people were like him. I spent over $500 because of him
EDITED TO ADD: the day after I posted this review I was contacted by the installer (Brad), and the district manager. Brad argued with me for about 20 minutes saying he actually did do it right no matter what the instructions say, but that hell come fix it if he has to. District manager was very nice and apologetic and offered me a gift card to make up for the trouble. Brad came to my home and installed the bracket. I had to specifically ask him to make the stove level after that, which he did. I changed my review from 1 to 2 stars. END OF EDIT. They will promise you things seemingly just to get you off the phone. Wont call you back when they say they will. I was told by the installer that the anti tip bracket was no big deal, dont worry about it! Even though the manual says absolutely do not operate the unit without anti tip bracket. When I realized what the manual said, I called the store and asked about it. Harry told me Ive installed tons of stoves and Ive only seen the anti tip bracket used once and that was just cuz some lady asked. We just really never do it, youll be fine! I called the corporate office, who was shocked that this store is installing things in an incorrect and DANGEROUS manner. Corporate called the store and told me the store will contact me to schedule a time to come install it properly. They never called me. Its still not installed right. They also put the stove down on the floor and PUSHED it across the kitchen instead of carrying it, scuffing the linoleum.
Great locally owned family store, support local! Great customer service. Highly recommend!
Decent selection and price on appliances. I bought a refrigerator. Five days to wait for delivery though
Great place and very helpful. Competitive pricing and independently owned.
Very friendly and knowledgeable about their appliances.
Great locally owned business very accommodating and polite!
Great service. Respectful employees. Will be back.
Great appliance prices. Friendly sales people.
Nice small format store. Very helpful employees!
Was just at the Sears store in Washington, Mo. to buy some pry bars and was told by an employee that a truck was being unloaded at that moment. He said he would go back and check but, at that same time, a young girl, who I think worked there too, asked if he wanted to play trivia and he said Ok, and left me just standing there. He never checked on the pry bars so I left. He knew nothing about customer service and I am going to order the pry bars from a different company online and never buy anything from this Sears store again. No wonder Sears is going out of business with such untrained, uncaring employees.
Friendly people. Goes out of their way to satisfy your needs
Good to work with and will match any price.
First and foremost i wouldnt send my worst enemy to these guys. I purchased a 3000 dollar lawn mower and a 500 dollar warranty. After 1 summer i started having small issues. The belt for the blades came off. I drove to the store and sinply ask for a diagram so i could put it back on. This guy who is supposed to be an owner? Told me he couldnt help me gave me a number and sent me on my way. Sayed was not his problem. Today i broght the front tire in wont take air has a bad valve. Once again this jerk told me its not his problem. But he could sell me a new one, these jokers have no buisness structure and gave me the worst service i have ever experienced. 3500 dollars for a pile of junk.
Be aware of damaged items & how they are described on phone. It is better to look before agree per verbal description..
The new owners will always price match anything I buy from them. Keep up the great service.
Always love tools lol
Great store, very nice people!!
Nice store with good management.
Employees are nice and very helpful.
John was very person did me very well I like the store very much
Great customer service.
They have anything you need for your home
Very helpful and friendly staff
They only sell high profit Sears products. They dont even have single tools, only sets. Not interested in helping you unless you are buying big ticket items. They dont know their small ticket products!
Very Helpful!
Watch what you buy, gouged, chopped paint
Not many sears stores left
Good people
Very clean place
Bad staffing
