I experienced not only great service to my vehicle but both great communication and professionalism.I was pleasantly impressed when I came in to make a payment and one of the employees (or owner, Im not sure of their actual title) was on the phone talking about an issue a client may have had. They handled it being completely calm and above all showed some accountability in the process. I felt that was very important for me to overhear and this allowed me to expand my horizon of confidence in their work. I called them about an issue for my land rover sport and Ingrid was so helpful and like surprising helpful because lets be honest mechanics want the business and I completely get it even if its an easy fix for you, she gave me wonderful advice and said see if that works for you and if not call me back and well see what we can do. To me that sounds like good business practice and honest work and the company has integrity about what they do for a living and genuinely helping people thank you Ingrid never meet you but you are awesome.
This was my first time using their services, and had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend taking your Land Rover, Jaguar or any other British car to this shop (they specialize in these types of vehicles) as they are very knowledgeable, honest and polite. I took a vehicle to have a pre purchase inspection, after which, they briefly described their findings as they provided a detailed report via text message of what was found. This place is very professional and would trust them with any service that might need completed. I would definitely take my Range Rover to this shop.
My RRS started having cold start issues and would hardly run until warmed up. Throwing a bunch of codes and in restricted performance mode, I tinkered with it for a few days but wasn’t able to narrow the issue down. Took it in to Kings Cross and they battled the issues for an extended period of time, eventually narrowing it down to the high pressure fuel pumps had skipped time. (Which created a whole other slew of problems) It took A LONG time to diagnose, but they stuck with it and now it runs better than new. I know saying the repair took a long time might seem bad, but this was a very specific issue that was out of the norm and supposedly not likely to happen within the VIN range of the vehicle.Mike and the team at Kings Cross went above and beyond to get this fixed, their customer service was excellent, and I highly recommend them for any work you need done on your British vehicles. I have had them do other minor services and lower control arms, all of which was high quality work and priced reasonably.

First time service with Kings Cross and I was more than pleased! I was able to get in quickly, they delivered what they promised. Very professional, knowledgeable and informational. They offer pick up, a drive to work or can help you arrange for a car if needed. I ended up waiting in their lounge and worked while. I waited which was very comfortable. I was so surprised at how accommodating they were as it’s not always easy to make arrangements. Service was on time to their quote and on budget. I’m would never use the dealer again. I highly recommend them!

I wanted to give an update to my review but it seems to have disappeared so heres what happened a few months ago and just today.Long story short, my 1986 Jaguar XJ6 was making a loud noise during hard acceleration. Brought it in KingCross, they couldnt find the issue but did some tightening and replaced two control arm bushings promising that would diminish the clunking. Over $850 and two visits later I still had the same annoying noise.3 months passed. Today I decided to try fixing it myself. I re-aligned the propeller shaft as instructed in the Haynes manual. The job took me about 30 minutes without replacing any parts. The noise is GONE completely to my surprise and relief!I just cant believe how incompetent they are at KingCross!On a different note, they seem to filter out negative reviews and only show positive ones.
I have been to Kings Cross Automotive twice for routine service on my 2015 Jaguar F Type, convertable . On both occasions I have found the staff professional, timely and cost effective. I have been completely satisfied with their work.
Have a 12 XK/R that had jumped time. Toom it to the dealership and they tried to charge me over $15.000 to fix it. Called around and was lucky enough to find mike and his shop. Right away he made sure i wasnt worried about the repairs or the price....ended up paying less than a third of what the others wanted and not only did he deliver it when done.....it ran better than when i bought it.! Thanks Mike and crew for a job well done.
Mike and the team were AMAZING. We called on the way to the shop with a leak in the tire. They got us in immediately and had the tire fixed in less than an hour. The only other option was taking it to the JLR dealership, and they’re several weeks out... for a tire patch. Kibby patched it up super quick.I wish KC did new warranty work, I would gladly give them all my business! Highly recommended for all your British car needs (and Subaru!). Thanks again Mike!
I just brought my 2000 Land Rover Discovery to Kings Cross for some maintenance, and I couldnt be happier. I typically do my own maintenance, however I had a brake system issue and a vibration I couldnt resolve, and elected to bring it here.From the get-go my service advisor Rob was attentive, helpful, and never pushy. The day I dropped the Disco off a diagnostic test drive and general safety inspection was performed. I was sent a sheet with the results and pictures of problem areas they found that afternoon. Rob followed up with a phone call and we discussed what the technician had found and the costs associated with the repairs, and the various options I had.Once I decided on the work I wanted to be performed, parts were ordered, and they arrived and were installed the next morning. I had the Discovery back at the end of the second day.I cannot recommend this shop more highly. Their work was quality, the turn around time was extremely fast, and the communication was second to none. All work and charges were discussed beforehand, and I was never upsold or pushed to do any work that I would rather do on my own. If you have a British vehicle, this is absolutely the place to bring it.
Mike and team run a great shop. The place is clean, professional, and it is evident they take pride in their work. They had me checked in a little early, and done faster than planned with no issues or hiccups. When it comes to British vehicles, I dont think anyone out there could do a better job.
I took my green beauty into get a new turbo. They let me know it would about a week to get the part and then about 3 days in the shop. Well the part came in under a week and they had my suv in and out same day. Talk about service! Then they said I also needed new filters air and in cabin. I know what a pain it is to install the in cabin so I asked if they would and they did. I just found my new repair shop for my range rover. Next up control arms. Again a service that would of cost me about 8 thousands is only going to cost me 1900. Thanks again guys!

My advisor Rob and the team at Kings Cross were easy to work with and knowledgeable. They took time and were diligent to make sure my vehicles issues were resolved. While I hope to not have to take my car in for repairs anytime soon, if I do Ill be sure to use them again. A bit more money than other shops, but well worth it in my opinion.

Friendly staff comfortable waiting room for short visit. I came in with a coolant leak it’s fixed and I didn’t have to do it. I took the Mini in on Thursday got it back the next day with a new thermostat housing (the leak)and sensor (the check engine light) put 300 miles on it Saturday no problems. I drive quite a distance just to take my car to this business. There is this level of trust that I have with Kings Cross that makes me feel like comfortable getting repairs and maintenance done there. I dont feel like Im being pressured and they listen. Ive usually always taken my vehicles back to the dealership, but Kings Cross seems to have the upper hand in expertise and knowledge about my car. Very impressive, took my girlfriends range rover in and they sent me a full diagnostic report WITH pictures of everything that needed work on. Worked on it and got it done super quick. Michael is very thorough, which I appreciate, when explaining what he has done to your vehicle. I needed a 16,000 mile interval service and rather drive 45 minutes to the LR dealership I decided to try him. I couldnt have been happier. He explained what he did, what was needed and how I can take it to the dealership and get one of the issues taken care of under the warranty agreement. I couldnt be happier and I will definitely take my car back to him!

They picked up my 07 range rover did a complete ac overhaul and returned my rover in a day! They also quoted and charged me half as much as Art Morse.
Low coolant warning came on and took it to Kings Cross on short notice (called them 15 mins before). They treated me with priority, had a quick look, provided a diagnosis and was on my way. Ill be going back for the next service. UPDATE: Went back to have the issue properly diagnosed and trusted Kings Cross with the necessary repairs. I found the entire experience very pleasant, honest, accurate and like im in good hands. Will see them again for the next oil change!

I had questions about noises in my 2010 XKR transmission. Rob was great in getting the car in quickly for diagnosis and follow up. Nothing wrong, but decided to do the full service oil and pan filter change based on mileage. Great technical knowledge along the way and fair pricing. Car shifts even better now. Would not hesitate to use this shop again.
The service at Kings Cross is personal and exceptional. I took my 2015 LR Discovery Sport to add a 3rd party trailer hitch. I ultimately did not have the hitch added due to issues with the manufacturer. Throughout this process the team at Kings Cross bent over backwards to offer solutions and be accommodating. Michael is a real find for Jaguar owners. The best part is talking directly to the mechanic that is doing the work. I had major transmission problems and he did a great job solving them. The transmission is better than manufactured. He also checked the car for any other problems and then showed me the problem for myself. I would recommend Michael highly. I hope his business grows and he is around for a long time. Vancouver is really fortunate to have him in business here. I intend to turn all my car service over to him.
These guys do mostly foreign (British) autos. Experts on the Mini Coopers. Have had my car to them twice and completely satisfied. Honest, fast and reliable.

The mechanics are very personable, knowledgeable and explain in detail how your car is doing and what needs to be done. It seems like most places these days just get you in and out. Rover owners in the Portland Metro area have historically only had two non-dealer shops to choose from. The dealer is too costly and after the change of ownership at the best non-dealer there hasnt really been a good option available. Ive been to almost every Land Rover shop in the area and havent been wowd.My wife has been hounding me to take my Disco into Kings Cross since her Discos repair there a few months ago; as a car guy Ive been hesitant. While I can rebuild my Jimmy from the ground up I dont have the skill set to do more than minor repairs on my rover, and finding a new, trustworthy shop to service my Disco has been frustrating.I should have just listened to my wife.Mike is exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and was kind enough to run me to my office when I dropped off my truck for a heater service. Quick too: my truck was ready for pick-up only a few hours later. Mike truly understands the difference between a quick buck repair and building a customer relationship.From today forward neither of our rovers are going anywhere else for repairs or service.Those that know me know that I dont endorse or put my name behind anything lightly, and I fully endorse Kings Cross. If you have a Land Rover [or Jaguar] you wont find a better shop or customer service.
Mike has extensive mechanical experience. He diagnosed the problem with our Discovery II quickly and accurately, and was able to get it into the shop promptly. Hes here to help you, not rip you off like the Land Rover shops in Portland. Let me just start by saying I have never before received such amazing customer service especially in the car care industry, I came in to have my 05 Jaguar inspected and serviced. Mike was very friendly, really just straight to the point and honest. Mike answered all my questions and then some; he even saved me money on my wiper blades :) My thirty minute drive was worth it just for the customer service. I definitely will continue with Kings Cross Automotive.

The new staff does an amazing fast job getting ur rig squared away.
They took advantage of my teenager. He had a clutch replaced and when they did it they cut the exhaust sensor wire. They did a repair to the wire but did not tell us. A day the cheesy repair came lose and his sensor came on. My teenager went down to them and they wanted 75 dollars to diagnose. At the time we didnt know they did the inferior repair so we tried to see where this sensor was and to or disbelief they had cut the wire and one of the patched wires had come lose. Pretty disappointed . They did admit they did try to get over on us and did an proper repair but only after some unkind words.
Mike, was wonderful to work with. Really feel that they are trying to find and fix the problem economically and reasonably. Will always take my business to them.
We were on a cross country road trip when a part failed on our Jaguar in Portland. They fixed it same day and charged half what the dealership planned to charge. This place is good karma and I wish them all the best - they really saved us big time. We would have had to change plans in a drastic way when the car broke down on the road trip.

Ive known Mike Raia--the owner of Kings Cross--for at least 25 years. He recently conducting a pre-inspection on a car in Portland, provided timely, specific and practical considerations, and wasted none of my time during his report. Im grateful for his insights and wisdom... and even though he could have sold me on any number of maintenance items as part of his recommendation, he never once upsold me.
Locally owned and professionally managed. We can really tell that the owner cares about his customers. We only get our car serviced there when in town.
Michael spent time before he started making sure I understood what needed to be done, and then after he was finished, spent time answering my questions. The waiting room was comfortable, and I got work done using the free wi-fi as the job was completed. Ill be back!

Ive been meaning to write this review for awhile now, and after yet another top notch experience this week at Kings Cross...its time to list a few reasons why I cant say enough great things about this place :1. Mike is an excellent mechanic, he really knows his stuff. He genuinely cares about your car and also your safety. He is trustworthy and will take the time to explain the diagnosis, and solve any complicated problem at a fair price. His sense of humor and willingness to work around hectic schedules make the stress of car repair much more agreeable.2. Hands down the best customer service. The waiting room is so comfortable you will forget youre at an automotive repair shop. Help yourself to a cup of Keurig coffee (a plus for me), complimentary wifi, tv and comfy couches. During a recent stretch of electrical system repairs on my Jag...when I was there about once a week for a month, Mike joked around that the waiting room was my spare office and they should get me a coffee mug with my name on it. This friendly service takes the stress out of car repair.3. This family run business is a joy. Mike, Katie and the whole crew are simply the best. I have no doubt that this business will continue to grow successfully for generations.
Id give less if I could. So your first mistake if youre reading this, was buying that land rover in the first place. Unless youre extremely wealthy and could care less about money. I wouldnt go here unless youre needing an oil change. The price is fair for that.So here it isI came to Mike after purchasing a range rover sport. He did the pre purchase inspection, 90k mile service Yada Yada. So I find a constant squeeling noise while driving and take it to Mike. He comes on a test ride with me. Tells me I need to replace the rear rotors and the sound will go away. He said there is no safety issue with the condition, just sanity from the noise. So eventually, few weeks later, I am fed up with the noise and take the rrs to Mike. $500 later (450 before tax), I get my car back, NOISE IS STILL THERE. So he tells me to bring it back so he can look at it again. This time I go on the test ride with his technician and him, and they tell me the noise is now coming from the front rotors. Hmm, sounds exactly the same. I asked Mike, face to face, as I was in his waiting room with my 5 month old daughter if hes sure it will fix the problem. He assured me it would. They do the repair, tell me the noise is gone. I literally get out of their driveway and the exact same noise is there. Now at this point the frustration levels are extremely high for me. Spent 6 hours in his shop this day waiting, when I was expecting a 2 hour repair, Im now almost $1000 in the hole and NOTHING had changed. So he says hell reach out to land rover and try to figure out what is causing the sound. Calls me days later to tell me it must be the shoes. OK. $400 more! Are you kidding me? Youre supposed to be professional, and youve made mistakes twice in a row costing me $1000 for no reason what so ever and you want me to pay you more money? No refund. No partial refund. No sincere apology. Just plain robbery if you ask me. I will never return to him nor will I ever suggest anyone else go to him. Professional con artists really. Sucks because he seems to be a genuinely nice person but this is not how you conduct business. Pay the little extra and go to Land Rover. Save on taxes and have the assurance of professionals who back their work.
After horible service at Jaguar dealership in Portland i was very happy to find Mike so close here in Vancouver, i dont know about other cars but i advise all Jaguar owners to service their cars here!! Finnally found the right guy who will take care about my XF!
