I had originally rated this place at 5 stars as they did a great job Lou was amazing. He has since retired and the new people started out fine enough, but it takes much longer now to get a driveline made/fixed in addition the prices have climbed dramatically. My most recent driveline I had made was not easy from the start they were unwilling/able to attempt a front yoke removal and tube weld to top that off it was made too short which I understand can happen. I dropped it off for repair and they charged me more to have it lengthened. Apparently a new rear end was needed and bearings replaced. I don’t believe I’ll be going back there as I have alternate options. Perhaps it’s growing pains from new management perhaps not.

Lou performed the most well thought out, ethnical, clean overhaul of the driveline(s) on my 2005 2500HD Duramax with 6 speed. Runs and sounds great. I have recommended several people to Lou.

Wow! If you’re looking for a driveline shop with quick turn around and quality finished products you have found it. Take this from me, I drive stockcars with unique drive lines and within 48 hours I had what was a bent and destroyed driveline and yoke back in my car looking brand new and working perfect at 13,000 RPM (powered by Yamaha R1).. going through that much stress takes quality products and you will find that here.

They did a good job fixing drive line and u-joints but was disappointed that they couldnt do the differential but they told me that when they worked on it so I understood that.

This is an awesome shop. The owner is a great guy, taught me how to remove u joints the old school way and has the coolest shop dog Ive ever had the pleasure to be around. I brought her some treats after he was finished repairing my drive shafts, great mechanic and great dog. 10/10 and 5 stars. If my driveshafts ever act up again Im taking them back there.

My son was driving our 1964 Thunderbird last week up a freeway on- ramp when a sickening clunk made the old Ford shudder to a stop. A look in the rear view mirror showed my son the driveshaft was rolling down the hill behind him. Not a good day! A bystander pulled the driveshaft out of the road and jammed it under the rear wheels. See picture one. I really thought that was the end of our car. We got AAA to flatbed the T-bird home to our garage. A call to a local transmission shop the next morning lead me to Lou at I-5 Driveline. Lou assessed the damage, let me know I needed a new driveline, and built me a shiny new one -- a perfect match -- see picture 2-- from scratch in 24 hours. He also gave me wise advise about installing it, telling me to make sure I check the torque on the differential yoke nut. He was right, it was loose, and so I followed his advice to back it out, redlock it and torque it down to 100 ft/lbs. This morning, the T-bird is back on the road, just a couple days after what I thought was a fatal disaster. He also let me know the transmission shop that replaced my universal joints 15 months ago likely put the wrong size U-joint in, and thats probably why it failed in the first place. I am so glad I found Lou, and just wish I had known about him a year ago. I couldt recommend Lou more highly. I also like his dog.7/17/17 :One quick update. Thanks to the quick repair, we were able to get the Tbird on the Road for the Concourse DElegance Portland show July 17 in Forest Grove, and we won 3rd place! Thanks again Lou!

Called Saturday morning to see if he had time to replace my carrier bearing. Was told first come first serve that day, that he had one on the rack but could start mine within two hours. I took my chances that no one else would get there first, arrived in an hour. Within two and a half hours he had replaced bearing, all U-Joints, balanced and repainted my driveline. Nice guy, work well done.

Says one price and then when it comes time to pay its 3x what was discussed. Then threatens to keep your driveline. Total psycho

This man is a magician! Thought I needed u joints but that clearly wasnt the case. He kindly showed what the issue was and repaired it right in front of me. I was recommended to this shop from a buddy of mine after I butchered installing U Joints in my pickups rear driveshaft. Not only did they do a phenomenal job but went above and beyond, the tech explained to me the difference in U Joints and the in and outs as well as showed me what i did wrong for the future. Ive had bearings pressed in twice here, so nothing major. Lou is extremely helpful and let you watch so you can learn a little while the work is going on. Wife is also helpful and friendly. A cute friendly dog is always a plus as well. Would definitely recommend!

Hands down best driveline shop youll find! The Owner Lou is a Legend! He rebuilt and balanced my driveline within an hour of me pulling in. My truck feels great very happy with everything customer service, quality parts, quality work, fast turnaround. This man knows what hes doing. I wouldve happily paid twice what he charges. The job was done fast and done right very rare to find a shop like this these days.

Lou is very nice. He explained the problems and showed me what he could before taking the differential apart. Everything is working well after the repair. The ONLY thing I would have appreciated would have been a phone call to advise me that the bill would be higher than quoted due to damage being worse than anticipated. The charges were very reasonable, just significantly more than expected. All in all I doubled definitely go back and recommend Lou to others.

The carrier bearing in my sons truck failed for the second time. Lou was highly recommend by a neighbor. After a brief conversation about our issue he suggested going with a new one-piece drive line as a stronger replacement. We picked up the new shaft the next day. The welds were perfect the price was good and it was very nicely painted, too. The new shaft fit like a glove, we were able to rescue the truck from the side of the road and keep on schedule for the father-son camping trip weve been planning for months! Thanks Lou!!

Awesome experience went in this morning with a vibration in my driveline, Lou put it on the hoist inspected everything and showed me what needed to be done. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Got right to work and he explained everything as he went along. Something you hardly see anymore. Now no more vibration and a very happy customer for life. Fair, clean, and just honest! I went to I5 driveline due to being the only one in town that was open. I had what I thought was a bad u joint and the lift on my truck made my deadline to short. Theres a reason theres only one stockinette shop in town. This guy is the absolute best hands down. My only complaint is that he only does drive train and not a full mechanic shop. Lou is a total stud and has the knowledge and is personable to get my truck fixed in under two hours. I wish I could rate him hire than a 5 star. I would recommend him to everyone I meet. A machinist that used to be located in the old Gasoline Alley in Hazel Dell still does work the old school way but with modern equipment. He always seems to be able to squeeze you in if youve got a rushed job and hes quick accurate and Priced Right. Everything from U-joints Driveline extensions balancing etcetera he takes care of. One of the last in the county.

Really enjoyed the experience of working with Lou replacing the driveline in my 2005 Subaru XT 170,000 miles. Also, just finished updating CV axles on the front end of the vehicle along with the front and rear suspension stabilizer links. Now with a more rigid suspension we could feel a large vibration in the rear end. Turned out to be the original one piece driveline.Dropped the new driveline in with serviceable U joints. Installed new driveline and back on the road in 50 minutes.Next time you need service on your car or truck I-5 Driveline is definitely worthwhile choice. Fair price and great service.WGM

After dealing with 3 shops and conflicting statements regarding what was wrong with my truck, not to mention wasting time and money, I came to I-5 Driveline Repair. I expected to hear the same baloney as Id heard from other mechanics and inflated prices. He quoted me $65 to straighten and balance my drive line. When I went in to pick it up, he told me it took him awhile to get it perfect. He only charged me an extra $20. I will recommend him to all of my friends. Thank you.

I brought in a used LSD to have installed in my truck. Right off the bat Lou inspected it and found that the bearings needed to be replaced. He replaced the bearings and installed it. It works great and doesnt make any noise or anything. His prices are very reasonable too. My dad and brother have both had Lou do work for them, and I see why. Id recommend I5 Driveline to anyone in need for differential or driveline work.

Took my 2005 F350 to Lou because I had a rubbing noise coming from the front right hub. Lou replaced my seals in the front axle tubes, upgraded my driveshaft hanger bearing, and installed new u-joints for me. I asked him to rebuild my rear differential, but he inspected it, serviced it, and told me to quit trying to spend money I dont need to. Saved me a bunch of cash. Excellent workmanship, honest and trustworthy individual. I would highly recommend I-5 Driveline to everyone.

Took my 2001 Dodge 1500 in this morning and let me tell you, if you want a honest and well experienced mechanic than I5 Drive line is the place to take your vehicles, he took the time to explain everything that was wrong with my truck and explained what could of happend if I waited any longer to get my issues fixed. Hes so honest that he didnt even charge me a penny to help me figure out the issues and know I have the dealer fixing the problem since I still have a service package on the truck.I will be sending friends and family to his shop.

Lou is a very knowledgeable guy. I had two drivelines modified for length with new yokes.They were ready the next day and they operate great! I would recommend this shop.
