I was recommended this shop by a friend of mine to get a stubborn sunroof drain unclogged. After a dealership could not get the problem resolved and lied about fixing my sunroof, D&E got me an appointment as soon as they could.They went above and beyond to get to the bottom of the problem. They were transparent about the process, the timeliness of their service and polite and professional to work with. Steve had helped me directly with offering his help inspecting a newly purchased vehicle, and he was (still is), such a professional, courteous, dedicated, and kind mechanic. Rarely do I leave a negative review. This is an exception. They back out of an appointment they’d committed to after we got solid quotes, scheduled AND dropped off the truck.Here is what happened: Got phone quote for front and rear engine seals appx two weeks ago. Liked the bid, scheduled appointment for the work at the same time - for today. Came by day prior to the appointment - they looked at it, got solid quote (even revised better) and agreed appointment today. They even said, Bring it in first thing in the morning to get it done. Arranged for ride home after early morning drop off. Get there, they said “may not be done until the next day - but we will put it in overnight”. Dropped off keys & truck, leave. Get home & they call and say You need to come and pick it up - were too busy today, we forgot to book the appointment. And... the next appointment is two weeks away. I speculate that they bit off more than they were capable of. How can you cancel an appointment after having talked on phone, been there in person the day before, physically took the keys (said “might need it overnight” and received the vehicle- after we drive away?!I collected my patience, called back to get their official explanation diplomatically. Ultimately, he said, “It happens.”LOL... O.K. Then. He said someone forgot to record the appointment two weeks ago, and apparently didn’t catch the clue that we brought it in beforehand to make sure their quote was accurate. Then, in some weird alternative reality this morning “accidentally” said that it would have to stay the night - but they’d keep it safe inside.Obviously something weird and unprofessional is going on here. My recommendation- dont waste your time. If they cant honor a quote or appointment- then how does that reflect what the actual work will turn out like? They don’t value my time. Thankful now, based on their behavior- that they did NOT work on our truck.

Steve, Dell, and James and the rest of the techs and staff are all great and really care about your needs. I have family who use D&E and was referred to them and now I definitely recommend to anyone. I had some major work done and its fair pricing and timely turnaround. Will return when I need more work done.

D&E has saved me so much money over the years. They let me know what needs to be fixed and what doesn’t. They do an amazing job and guarantee their work. I won’t take my car anywhere else.My most recent experience was a unique situation where a short in a break light caused my car’s computer to tell the transmission to back off. So it seemed my car was losing power without any visible stress. It was a real head scratcher, but D&E found it and fixed it at a very reasonable price.Most places would have replaced all the things it wasn’t before they found what it was, and it would have cost me a LOT in parts to process through elimination to find the problem.

These are great guys with great customer service. Not only were they less then half price on a padded bill from Reeds Automotive in woodland on my wifes car. But they took the time to help me with a clip on a ball joint on my truck at no charge when I just drove in unannounced and my most recent job that I thought was going to be at least a thousand was less then half with more work done then I expected! I will be back!

I just moved from out-of-state and had a burnt out brake light. I called and they got me in asap and didnt charge me for the repair. The just said to come back and I am for an oil change and tire rotation. This is how you win customers and loyalty. They couldnt have been more professional. Thank you for making me feel welcome in my new home state.

I recommended this company, and they cant go back to washougal becuase they love this company so much. These people are so honest and respectful. I have been going there with my family for over ten years now.. and let me just tell you AS A FEMALE, they have NEVER ONCE taken advantage of me. They give me the honest truth on what my car needs and what it doesnt need right now.. They dont fluff it up and charge you for extra things. They are the best. Great prices for services and staff are very welcoming and easy to talk to. I recently took my truck in for an oil change and drop off and pick up was very easy!

These guys were excellent...all I needed was an alternator belt replaced (something in hindsight I could have probably done) but I also wanted them to give my old Civic a once over because I have been considering a new clutch, timing belt etc...major work and major money...they said everything looked good, brakes, clutch but could use an oil change...long story short they gave me a piece of mind and were very inexpensive and efficient. I will definitely being going back when my car falls apart.

I love this mechanic! They are honest and trustworthy. I come here for my regular oil changes. I recently had my airbag light come on and they told me that I could bring it in to a dealer who would fix it for free as the problem was with my seatbelt which is covered under a lifetime warranty. I also appreciate how they treat women. Highly recommended!!

Visiting from out of state. Providentially, they had the little cover missing off of my transmission available on an older transmission they had just removed. My vehicle was repaired and on its way in a few minutes, no charge. Since its unlikely Ill be here when a major repair is needed Im writing this positive review hoping someone local or otherwise will read it and decide to give them a shot. The mechanic I talked with was courteous and knowledgeable and answered other questions I had about my vehicle.

Well respected business thats been around for decades with true honesty and NOT overpriced ever. Known for not fixing the things that do not need fixing. Along with quality long term mechanics the quality is superb.

This place rules. I live in Portland with an auto car place right next door and I wanted to stick to this place instead. Had to stop by unannounced, no appointment, because my engine light was one and some weird stuff was happening in the middle of a work day. They squeezed me in, took care of the first issue in an hour for a great price. Then helped me with some underlying issues that needed repair ASAP the following Monday first thing for a GREAT price. Not to mention, they’re all super duper nice, friendly, honest and genuinely helpful. Especially Tyler 👍🏻 My car is in tip top shape and I highly recommend this place!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDI am a 49 year old man and have use many mechanics in my life. These guys are the best I have ever found. They have taken care of my car and the trucks from my company for several years. Most recently they fixed an issue with my personal car and charged significantly less than quoted. I will never take a car any where else. They are honest, on time and always use the floor liners to keep the car clean when they are working.

They have replaced a diesel truck engine and at a separate time a transmission. D&E backs up all of their work completely, and their prices are very fair. I went in with a broken alternator belt and needed to be out fairly soon because I had Work. Both of thof gentlemen working up front were very kind and worked hard to find the right belt and order it quickly. I was in and out MUCH faster than I had expected, especially on a Friday which appeared to be a very busy day for them. I would highly recommend going here!

They fixed my car 😍 Ive spent thousands $$ taking my car from one shop to another(in Oregon) and they were never able to find out what was going on or remove the check engine light- which kept my car from passing the DEQ test. And yesterday it was time for DEQ again and it didnt pass but I took it to this guys and they fixed it as if it was nothing and in less than an hour. I feel great- great day today. They were nice too. I definitely recommend them. 😀😀👍🏽👍🏽

I have been using D & E since 2008 when a different local repair shop replaced my struts and when they started making noise I tried to go back and that shop was closed! I went to D & E and they found the struts had not been installed correctly. They fixed my struts and didnt charge me! They got my business after that and I found them to be honest, have a good labor charge and very professional and nice.

I had been using D&E for a while for oil changes as I received some coupons. This included our Ford truck, Ford Mustang, and new Hyundai Sonata hybrid. They were always up front and professional, and they would occasionally recommend something else that could use work - but nothing like Minute Lube who try to upsell services everytime you walk in. It was always reasonable, and they would show me (seal leaking on the truck, for example).Coupons ran out, so I didnt go back for a while. The truck was in an accident, so I took it to a local competitor (you will have to find their negative review elsewhere). Seriously - took it back four times for incredibly stupid work. Unreal.I was driving a couple nights ago, and the truck died, couldnt get it to restart. I had towing service, so I was going to have it towed to the competitor, and my wife mentioned You liked D&E, why dont you take it there. So I changed the tow destination and dropped it off.Early next morning they called and let me know it was the fuel pump, and gave a reasonable estimate. I told them to go ahead.They called me a couple hours later and told me that they found the wiring connector was loose to the pump. The previous mechanic (sic) had not plugged it in all the way until it latched! They plugged it in, brought the truck back down, and that was it. Charged me fairly for shop time (which I am getting reimbursed from the competitor).Here was an opportunity to make some money. They could have just replaced the pump and not said anything. They are honest guys, and I am never going anywhere else, even with my new car that is under warranty.I see the reviews that state do not go to D&E - I am sorry if you had such a bad experience, but I have to disagree. I am encouraging my friends and family to start going there. 5 stars. Period

Never should have taken my truck here. It seems the old saying applies here, you get what you pay for. The thing that sucks is usually when that is the case you actually pay more, this is no exception... I am still paying and my truck was there in March.My truck even had to be towed back to the shop because apparently somebody forgot to put the caliper pin back in the brake and it fell off on the way home. The only way I knew this is the tow truck driver noticed this when he was hooking the truck up. I didnt mention it to D&E as I wanted to see how they handled this after doing whatever they wanted with my truck in a qtr the amount of time originally quoted and then getting extremely defensive about it when I started asking questions like Howd you get all that work done so fast? What parts did you use? Why did you do all this extra work that was scheduled for next week without even consulting with me on what parts I would like to use or if I can afford all that work at once, what if I budgeted this the way it was scheduled? I was never told why my truck sounded like a hunk of metal being rolled down the road, although I do know it was the cotter pin it was obvious once pointed out. Nobody even apologized or addressed the fact that I had to have my truck towed back to their shop on a workday costing me more money on more money due to their oversight.This was totally expected aftert my first and second experience with their expert infallible customer service rep at the front desk. I just figured she was stern and that is sometimes good, but not this time. I expected the reaction I got when I was proven right the next day driving my truck home.... crickets. I chalked it up as a loss never to return.I left it at that, one of the worst businesses Ive ever given my money to. However I paid them allot of money to screw my truck up and am now paying once again after having my truck in the shop on a previous occasion to fix their errors. I am also going to have to pay again immediately after this, does it end?So here I am now, for you... telling you the worst thing Ive ever done with my toyota was take it to this shop. Dont be like me with a problem that might never go away, keep shoping.
