I needed a tire repaired and everyone at Pep Boys in Union City was so helpful. They were even able to get me a Lyft back home while they worked on it so I didnt have to wait around at the shop. Great service and kind people! I highly recommend them.

Just left Pep Boys. Showed up with a bad battery. These folks got me in and out. When I entered the staff was courteous and professional. They were able to connect with me in seconds. San came out to the car check the battery, identified the issue, and swapped it out quickly. Just appreciate the effort, quick turnaround, and the pleasant way it was handled. Thank you. I often visit this Pepboys because of convenience as it is 5 minutes down the road from my house. The service is usually pretty good. However, the service I received yesterday was excellent thanks to Johnny. I went there for tire service & ended up needing to replace all of my tires. Johnny was customer friendly & took care of everything for me at a great rate. If you are visiting this Pepboys be sure to ask for Johnny. You are guaranteed to walk away with exceptional service, one that will surpass your expectations.

My initial visit on 8/5/21 was average. I received a brake and tire inspection and was recommended front pads/rotors and new tires. I was not 100% sold on all of these recommendations and felt they were a little exaggerated but nevertheless still approved all repairs. I arrived at 10am with an appointment and did not leave until almost 7:00pm, I was not happy at all. For some reason, maybe a gut feeling, I just did not feel confident in the quality of work they were doing.The next day after spending close to $1000 on services my brakes were still squeaking and scrubbing, I thought it was just because they were new. This continued for about a month or so and my car was still pulling to the left when driving so I knew there was no way they did the alignment.I finally had the time to return to the Pep Boys location this month and when describing my continued brake issues, the first thing the guy told me was I heard squeaking because it was morning and the brakes had not heated up (Never had this issue with any of my other cars but ok), after I told him it did not only happen in the morning, his next excuse was maybe the pads and rotors had to warm up and melt together. Again, never had this issue before but ok whatever, I was not about to sit and go back and forth with him. So, I then told him my car was still pulling and I wanted to make sure the alignment was done, he proceeded to look in the system and said, yes it was done. I told him I know the system says it was done because I paid for it, but was it actually physically done? He says oh yeah, I know it was done. I asked how was he so sure, did he do them himself, he said no but I still know they were done. I insisted on having it looked at. Just as I suspected, there was no alignment done, another rep told me my alignment was way off. This was evidence the services I paid for initially had not been completed or partially completed.Due to the alignment mishap, I am fairly certain the brakes were not completed properly because to this day my brakes are still squeaking, slightly grinding and yesterday made a noise I had never heard before.I refuse to go back to this same location just to be given the run around, so I have made an appointment with another location to have my brakes looked at and repaired correctly.Bottom line is they are charging customers for repairs not completed or completed poorly.

This is by far the worst Pep Boys location ever and they are not even servicing my car! How does someone bring their car to get serviced just to end up with more damage??? Not to mention the horrible communication and follow up from management and general staff. Please do not take your car to this location. Run!!! You’ll end up spending more money than intended and using your precious time to correct their mistakes. They are nonchalant and do not care about the customers. They’ll tell you anything but their actions do not match! DONT DO IT!

My daughter dropped her car on Feb 24 at 10.00. After not hearing from anyone around 3, she called several names no answer. Finally a gentle name Birdie answered, I asked him was it normal for his employees not to answer. He very rudely answered that they’re only two employees working at the time. He stated that I had a wrong part and he had to order it. I stated that they call me if they had any problems he placed me on hold. He stated that he ordered a part and was not going to charge me but now he going to charge us for the part, because I told him that he was very rude. I will never go to this Pep boys on 138 again. It is also a waist of time to call the 1800 number because the do not answer., and plus they do not have a corporate office. Very rude and do not keep their time line. It’s is almost five, still have not received word on car, it was dropped of at Ten this morning. Praying all goes well and I can feel safe driving in my car. After all the drama.

This experience was absolute trash. If I could leave less than one star I would. Took my truck in for windshield motor replacement. It took over a week to get it done. Making appointment after appointment only for them to keep saying they couldn’t get to it. Then when they finally get to my truck and replace the motor,they cracked my windshield down the middle and pulled it around front and just left it like I wasn’t going to notice my whole windshield was cracked. If I hadn’t said anything they were just going to let it ride. They promised to make an appointment to replace the windshield which they have yet to do and it’s two weeks later. I’ve been calling the store repeatedly to no avail. No one answeres the phone. I have called corporate as well as spoken to the area director and still nothing has been done about replacing my windshield. The hotter it gets this crack will spread. Very disappointed with this establishment.

The worst set of black men that I have ever seen in customer service industry! The laziness, the inability to have some type of decent customer service. And above all the incompetence that was shown is absolutely unprofessional. As a black man in business. That prides himself on customer service. As well as know that “service to many leads to great.” Clearly Pep Boys failed to pass this torch of information on. That has clearly been sown very effective through history. How sad it must be to live a life with no meaning. Never growing, never living. Just existing!

Terrible customer service and time wasted. My car was left in their car at 905am, whereas I was told it would be ready no later than 11am, i called at 1130 and they weren’t sure what car, location, service etc because the original rep never put my vehicle in the system. I was then told to wait an additional hour, nearly 3 hours later i called to pickup my car and they again never started on my car. It was a whole day wasted when i could’ve sought service elsewhere. Never again will i bring my vehicles here nor recommend it here.

Horrible experience. Im still trying to figure out what the heck I was charged for. I was told one price over phone..I even got him to repeat himself 3 times and put him on speaker the 3rd time so my witness could hear. The guy actually said Hold on let me see, cause I dont be writing nothing down. When I arrived at pepboys I found out that they lost my key. Heres the crazy part...my car was towed their the night before. That lets me know that they are unorganized at this location as well as UNPROFESSIONAL. If my car is left in your possession, you should definitely take care of it as if it was your property. Never again will I visit this location. I bought tires here less than a year ago. I had to have one tire replaced last month. That visit was ok, although I had to come back because they couldn’t fit me in the first time. My tire wasn’t available due to Covid so I got a similar tire. That tire must have a leak, my light keeps coming on. I am not driving much due to working at home. Came Saturday at 3. They said I would be here at least until 7PM. I could not stay. Put air in my tire and returned home. Haven’t driven until yesterday. My pressure was at 22. Put air in my tire and returned home. Was afraid to go to my appointment. Today I arrive before they are open. First in line. Here it is 3 1/2 hours later and they still haven’t touched my car! If I had not had a warranty on this tire, I would not be here. They either make you return or in this case have you waiting for hours! I’ve bought so many tires since I’ve been driving. The process should not be like this! SMH! I’m the only one in the waiting room, no progress at all! I will never purchase tires here again!!!

I stopped by for a brake change. I normally trust pep boys because they are very good at communicating and quality of work. I can’t give a review on quality because I canceled the work before it could even be started. First off they told me it would be an hour wait to just get the brakes verified on if they needed to be changed or not. After waiting an hour I was told the worker went on break and therefore my car had not been serviced yet. I then left and went to get food and came back and my car still had not been serviced after 25 to 30 minutes.After waiting nearly 2 hours and 30 minutes I went back up to the front desk and was told that the reason my car had not been worked on yet is because they were waiting to clear the bay because I had under glow underneath my car. At which point I decided to just take my keys and leave and find another Pep Boys I do not recommend this specific area.

I took my car in to fixed 7 days ago. I call today to check on my vehicle and was told that, the manager was not there when the car was accepted to be fixed, but he doesn’t feel comfortable with fixing it now that he’s back from vacation. I asked why hadn’t I been called and told this, he stated that he was going to call and I could just come pick it up. Then when I requested an explanation, I was threatened by the employee in the manager’s presence, and was told that he would kick my a—. Don’t take your vehicle there!! I asked how he could be mad with me because I’m requesting that he do the job he’s being paid to do. I’m the one who should be upset for having loss use of my vehicle for a week. I’m following up with upper management regarding this threat to my life.

Worst place ever. They never communicate with you on status of your vehicle even after vehicle was there for 3 days. Techs are not professional even the guys at the front counter and whenever i reach someone on the phone after numerous calls lm told that the tech working on my vehicle was not available. I believe they damaged my vehicle. I eventually had to get it removed from there. The place looks more like a hang out spot. I definitely would never recommend

I took my Van in for a oil change on Dec.30th, I was told that I had a oil leak and they couldn’t do the oil change. I was told that the master mechanic was on vacation and will return Monday.( The 30th was a Wednesday) so I returned home. Went and got a rental for my trip but once I returned home I dropped my Van off to them on the following Wednesday. I was told by the “MASTER MECHANIC” I had a transmission leak and it was a mess under my Van, they will not touch my Van and I need take it to a transmission shop.......Well long story short I took my Van to a PROFESSIONAL Transmission Shop! I was told my transmission was in good condition with zero leaks. I had a Oil leak in my oil housing. So please don’t take your car to a place where the mechanic can’t tell the difference between oil and transmission fluid. Afterwards my husband tried to call them and let them know. He put my husband on hold and never returned to the phone and never picked up the call when we tried to call back again. I will be reporting this because all I can think about is how many people have he lied to or got over on!!!!!

If I could give them a zero, they would get it today. This morning (around 11:30am) I made an online appointment for 3:30pm today. The appointment was confirmed and I even signed up for text notifications. My husband arrived on time and was told that we would not be able to get service today because they only had one person working in the bay today. My husband was told they didnt let us know because the request was made online.How much sense does this make? Why waste someones time? We could have easily taken our business somewhere else earlier today. VERY SAD. I plan to reach out to the corporate office tomorrow.

Worst customer service. I set up an appointment for Monday to check out why my battery light was on. The only reason I went to them is because I had my battery and alternator replaced by them 8 months prior which still should be under warranty. When I arrived they told me that they were unable to look at it because their mechanic called out. No one called to reschedule or to let me know. They had me drive up there and my car could of died out. I was very upset and wanted to file a complaint. The guy working there named Mark said you don’t want to do that. Like it was a threat not to file a complaint. I called your corporate office and waiting on a response.

Terrible customer service. Employees were not wearing masks and some didn’t have gloves on. Not all were in uniform, so you didn’t know who worked there and who didn’t. There was nothing put in place to adhere to social distancing. I decided to leave because the man that came to pick up my car didn’t have a mask or anything on. If he doesn’t care for his own health, then I’m certain he wouldn’t protect mine. He was also rude and very unprofessional. My brief encounter with him today was reason enough to leave, but overall, this pep boys is poorly managed.

Dont come here! They tried to charge me $700 for the parts and $900 the price on labor. Taken advantage of the situation. I dont want to see anyone getting ripped off from these people. To farther make it the worse shop ever the tech Jermaine removed my ignition fuse to prevent my car from starting once I took some where else. Also their own paperwork shows that my cost was $800 for labor and $428 for parts.

Courtney was so wonderful yesterday!!!! She was beyond helpful with my return process. When I was unsure of which part to purchase, she recommended the best part and why. She did everything possible to ensure that I was satisfied with my purchase. Courtney was patient with me when I couldnt remember my rewards number, she was able to find it! Even though parts wasnt her department, she went above and beyond!!!!!!! She is a perfect example of customer service and I cannot say enough about her!!!! Update to my review from 5 months ago: I purchased tires from them 5 months ago. A couple days ago I noticed one of my tires had a slow leak so I visited this location to get my tire repaired since I have Hazard protection on them. When I got there, before even diagnosing the problem, they instantly started quoting me prices for new tires... Red flag!!! Obviously, they had no intentions of even attempting to repair my tire, which is why they quoted prices from the jump. I wonder if they even looked at my tire. Anyway, after five hours of waiting, the rep said that my tire needed to be replaced. I called BS and left. I went to the another Pep Boys and guess what? They were able to fix my tire, no charge! These people at this location are a bunch of two-bit hustlers with no clue of how customers should be treated. Dont go here, you will regret it.... Pure ratchetness!Courtney gets 5 stars... But overall, the store and other employees could use some organization. You gotta have a lot of patience; some of the employees will test every bit of it.

I purchased a battery from the Augusta, Georgia Pep Boys about 19 months ago. Needless to say, I did not have a copy of my receipt and the Augusta location did not show the date of purchase in the database. The only information the Augusta store found in their database was my name and the fact that I purchased a battery. They did not have a purchase order number. Thankfully Dawn and AP were very helpful in helping me resolve my situation. Dawn contacted David at the Augusta to verify purchase. Upon verifying the little bit of information provided by the Augusta store, Dawn and AP did everything to make sure I was a happy customer. AP even took the time to help me register as a Pep Boys rewards member. I am very happy to be member of Pep Boys reward because of Dawn and AP.

Staff is unprofessional, lackadaisical, and no sense of urgency. Arrived at 9 am. Witnessed staff members in the back laughing and sitting around as customers waited. Another customers vehicle had been ready but was just sitting on rack. When he asked he was informed that man who could take car down would not be in for another 4 hours. Went in for problem with brakes. Upon “fixing” when arrived home( around 1 pm as staff is slow); saw a brake light malfunction. Went back to pep boys. Gentleman who “fixed” rotors pushed down to hard and damaged an ADDITIONAL portion of braking system. Sat for 20 minutes while I watched staff sitting in back smoking cigarettes while customers still needed to be serviced. When I inquired about wait time, staff member got attitude as he put cigarette out and then moved in what seemed like slow motion.I will NEVER SPEND ANOTHER PENNY AT THIS PEP BOYS AND IT IS SAD THAT A MAJOR COMPANY SUCH AS PEP BOYS HAS SUCH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTING THEM.

A few months ago I came in looking for a portable battery charger. Took one to the counter but an employee brought over another one I hadnt seen for 50% off. Awesome! Get it home, and the plug mechanism immediately breaks. Its obviously defective. I take it back and the employee points to a sign on a pile of these chargers I hadnt seen that says No Returns. Now I realize Ive been scammed. I looked up other reviews and the charger plug defect is a common problem. The “no returns” sign makes me suspect that this store was trying to unload inventory that they knew was defective. I wish this location had the integrity to stand by the products they stock. You shouldnt have to be cautious about a purchase from a major auto parts store, but you should at this Pep Boys.

Why else would you take your car to the shop but to get it looked at or fix.. my truck runs hot but I never let it over heat..So I take it to pep boys in Union City and I tried to tell the lady that theres no leak no signs of anything but the truck runs hot.. she insistent that its a over heating issue.. I beg the differ with her but she again insistent that theyll check the coolant, radiator etc.. etc... Three days later they said they cant go no further cause I put stop leak in it and it must have fix the problem cause theres no leak...I told the guy I tried to tell the lady that but she wouldnt listen...OK heres the issue... By me telling her theres no signs of a leak everything seems to be normal if she wouldve​ listen they wouldnt wasted 3 days looking at something I already told them there was nothing wrong with.. They couldve also possibly check the fan, condenser or anything.. Even after checking the radiator, coolant thermostat etc.. they couldve looked for something else.. my issue is I wouldnt bought my car their is there wasnt a issue.. the issue is the running hot and its no visible leak...Soon as I got in the truck and started it up 20 minutes later the temp its at 230 with no leak

They totally remodeled their store! It looks like they should be more efficient when getting your parts. Their parts are kinda expensive to me. The floor plan is very organized. It was very clean. I came in for brake service for my rear brakes. I also had a 20% off coupon with no exclusions on brake service. After assessing my car the rep said he Could Not only do the only the rear brakes but was required to do both rear and front. I told him I wasnt interested in the front brake service. He insisted both front and back were required to be done together. Im of the opinion that he didnt want to honor the coupon so he hiked up the service requirement.

This Pep Boys is pretty hit or miss when it comes to the staff and service. They are generally pretty unprofessional and the manager (Steve) leaves a LOT to be desired! I have made more complaints to him about how his employees treat the customers and each other -- in front of the customers. His **blank stares** indicate that he is tired of hearing the complaints or that he is completely uninterested! The one and ONLY truly redeeming quality they have is Courtney G. She is nothing but pure joy to the customers and really the only reason we continue to patronize this store for our oil changes!! We will only go if she is working and will only deal with her because we KNOW what we are going to get - GREAT SERVICE!! She goes above and beyond to make the customers feel welcome and appreciated! In the 10+ years we have been having our cars serviced there, weve seen managers and employees come and go! Courtney is the constant we look for!! This place is a joke. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I needed a blinker for my car. I got to the store around 6:00pm, and was told that they would not be able to install the blinker in my car today. Why, I don’t know because the store closes at 8:00, and the auto shop closes at 7:00, and the service I wanted takes all of 2 minutes...if that. So, I returned the light, and went directly across the street to O’Reilly Auto Parts, where they were more than happy to service me. This store not only needs to hire people who actually want to work, but also people who know the definition of good customer service.

I have been to this location on several occasions but I will never return again . I brought my truck in to have an oil change . I saw a tech ( who looked like he wasn’t an employee since he did not have a uniform on ) raise my truck up and after looking underneath brought it back down. A few moments later another guy ( who was in uniform ) said sorry we can’t change your oil because you have a leak . They didn’t care to try to see where the leak was coming from or try to help me resolve the issue just turned me away and said we won’t touch it . I went Across the street to NTB and not only did they take the time to see where the leak was coming from but they also fixed it - which was a very simple 14.00 fix. This location is very busy and because of that it’s obvious that they just don’t care to take the time to help customers with their issues . NTB just received a new customer because I will never return here .

Found tires I wanted on website. When I got there I was told that those werent the right tires for vehicle. And right tires would cost more. After showing employee web info and asking for employee to put everything in writing so I could give to corporate office, he look at web info. Got me within $10 of web price. I went with it. Not gonna argue over $10 when he was trying to get me for at least $70. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH.And this is not the 1st time Ive had problems at this location; but I gave them another chance because the prices were right for the tires I needed. If I could rate a negative number, I wouldIt was the absolute worst, I pulled up with a flat tire literally. I drove with my emergency lights on barely making it to the shop. I was turned around as soon as I walked through the door. I can understand being busy. But it was only one car before me, and 3 employees standing outside. They were doing absolutely nothing. This by far is the worst, Ive ever visited.

Called the service center and I didnt know they were closed. Instead of justing saying they were closed, someone just picked up and hung up. Rude and unprofessional.And I called 3 times between 7:17 pm and 7:24 and was rudely disconnected. Website lists their service center as being open until 8pm.

I really want to give this establishment in Union City a 0 for their performance on my vehicle. The manager Mr. Walton is completely full of BS. I am clearly unsatisfied and highly pist off with the lack of professionalism. Someone in this establishment broke the tire sensor on my vehicle. Then these idiots has the audacity to say the vehicle came in with a missing sensor. If you are planning to get any work done on your vehicle. Do not use Pep Boys in Union City.....

Well they had six open bays and 4 employees in the service area standing but they were too busy to do an oil change. So i dont have much to review as i was refused service. Im sure they wouldve done a wonderful job though. 5 stars loved it will return for future nonservice.

RIP OFFS!! I brought my 2013 Toyota Camry in for a standard oil change. The associate Walter insisted that my car took 7 quarts of oil. He said my oil change would cost 101dollars, 81 with the coupon. I went in twice to talk to them about this Walter and Sean. Both were rude and tried to tell me I was wrong that my regular place must use inferior non synthetic oil.After returning home I decided to check with my dealer. The dealer informed me that my engine is a 2.5 liter engine and only requires 5 quarts. Beware do not shop here or you will get ripped off. My economy mode has not worked since my oil change.

Got my first oil change for my new Jeep here. Paid almost $75. A little over a month later, my check engine light comes on. I take it to the dealership and discover the cap on my engine is missing and I am almost completely out of oil. The only work I had done to my vehicle was from this Pep Boys, so they were clearly at fault. When I contacted them, the person on the phone told me it was impossible for me to have gone that long with a cap off. Yet the dealership said it was possible. I explained that the cap may have not been put on right or never was put on, I dont know. But obviously they were at fault since they were the ONLY ones who had touched my car. He was very rude insisting they couldnt possibly have been responsible. I take this as a lesson learned. I will never do business with this Pep boys again! And if there is any damage to my vehicle other than just low oil and a missing cap, I will be seeing out an attorney.

They tried to say I needed a battery for 159.00 dollars my battery was fine and still is and when I told the guy I can get it at Wal-Mart for 50.00 free to install he said I have to pay them 103.00 for labor them checking the battery. I say you loss your mind then he said 48.00 then 34.00 I said you are a rip off. Anyway I never paid either on for my oil change and wipers total 42.00 I will never use them again Ass holes. Union city Ga location.

So unprofessional! Not organized! They dont work as a team! Dont answer incoming calls promptly. Jst a hot mess....i cant go back and support such mess. I dropped my car off at 730am and got it back at 730pm. Nobody explained the work that was done and wat needed to be done. HELP NEEDED at this shop asap! I will pay more just for better service. Mr. Felix wasnt to bad...he tried to keep everything together.

Wold not recommend unless your absolutely sure whats going on with your car. Unsure what was going on with my car but I knew I needed an alignment. Well the technician took my car in to see what all I needed. He came back and informed me the car was in good condition and I just needed tire alignment and brake pads. Well once my car was all done he informed me I needed axles and a bolt for the alignment. I road up and down the street to the Lexus Dealership to see which bolt was needed. Pep boys informed me to get any bolt for the camber on my alignment. When I got back to Lexus to order the bolt I was inform any bolt will not work we will help u figure this out. I was told by Lexus that if that alignment is off based on the paper from pep boys then there could be a bent alignment. Well went back to pep boys spoke with the Manager and he was blaming me telling me in did not know what was wrong with the car when i came in 😕🤔 well you all are the professionals I though. I told him that I was unhappy that I spend 900 dollars and still needed more work and my car is making loud noises and the brakes are still scrubbing. Instead of having someone recheck on what I was saying he said he would talk to his manager. I said well if the tech would have done his job the 1st time the two front tired alignment and axles would be fix . He waited til after I spend money to tell me more things wrong. Im not happy . I would not recommend this place take the extra drive and go someone where else. LIED ABOUT SERVICES DID NOT PUT BREAKS ON MY CAR MONTHS LATER CAR WORST EMAILED CALLED THE CORPORATE DEAD END PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO PEP BOYS THEY STOLE MY MONEY NEVER DID THE JOB IM HURT

Made a appointment online for a oil change and get to the shop no oil change appointment exist is their system. Steve(I guess he is the so called manager) proceeds to do a oil change anyway. When he cranks up the car he says that my car is making a ticking sound, sound like my oil is low. Didnt know you can predict the oil level by cranking up the car. Little do he know I know more about cars than the average woman so I continue to play stupid. He takes my car in the garage and then tell me its a oil leak have you noticed it? At this point Im very irritated and just want to get my car out this shady shop. Took my car home, sat it in the drive way and no oil leaked. Wont be back!

This Pep Boys literally recharge me 138.00 just to look at my car no fluids no oil change just to look at my car it was running hot an my check engine light was on which I told him and he said by him put it on a diagnostic test thats why it was a 138.00. do not deal with Mr. Jamal the one at the front desk with the baggy clothes and the lamp.

Ok where do I even begin? I dropped my car off here today at 12pm to have 2 tires replaced as I have the road hazard warranty and they blew out this morning. I was told my car would be ready in 2 hours. I waited an additional hour and half before even calling to see if my vehicle was ready. After being on hold for at least half an hour, they couldnt even FIND my vehicle (although I specifically showed the lady my car before I left). After numerous descriptions of my car, they finally find it only to find out they havent even started on my car AT ALL!!!! Ive used other Pep Boys in GA and this is by far the ABSOLUTE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE Ive EVER received. How do you lose a vehicle?!?!?!!!!!! Needless to say Im still currently waiting on my car. I will definitely be writing and sending a certified letter to the corporate office and notifying the BBB regarding this location and their staff. Its really really sad to say the least and Pep Boys should be embarrassed by this location. Youre only as strong as your weakest link. Pep Boys Union City is your weakest link.

I called to check the status of a vehicle in the service department after 3 calls I finally reached David in retail. I asked if he could inquire about the vehicle since I couldnt get the service department on the line. He told me he worked retail and he would transfer me. I told him no one was answering in service he said well I work in retail and I have customers then he blind transferred me and no one answered. By this time I was pulling up to the store. There were no customers at the counter!

The Uber ladies are great, the Pep Boys service sucks just as it has for over 30 years. They are slow, they are not thorough, and they are not truthful. I could go on for pages and pages but I will stop here.
