Hands down best experience I’ve had at an auto shop in a very long time, probably ever honestly. Extremely detailed, kept me up to date every step of the process. Even sent me videos of what they were fixing. The owner himself called me every day my truck was in the shop to review what they found, how it could be fixed, and what it was going to cost. I took my truck here to get a second opinion and ended up a new loyal customer. If you want something done right the first time, for a fair cost, and total transparency, you can’t go wrong with Sir Thomas Automotive. Not only did they do an amazing job fixing my truck, they made me feel like family while they did it. Can’t recommend this shop enough, my wife and I were extremely impressed. I went in for an estimate to replace the blower motor in my air conditioner. I am a female but I know a thing or two about vehicles. In order to check the blower motor they had to remove my glove compartment which was 6 screws and then it came out and you could see it perfectly. It took them 48 hours to get an estimate to me. They wanted to charge me around $600-$700 to replace the blower motor and said it would be about 6 hours of work and the part was going to be over $100 as well. Well, I declined their offer to fix it and just said I would let them know if/when we were ready to fix it. They, then, wanted to charge me $45 for the estimate since I didn’t want them to do the work and I said no because they have always have provided free estimates. The son of the owner started being extremely rude to me because I wouldn’t allow them to fix my vehicle and I wouldn’t pay the estimate charge. He was very condescending and talked down to me like I was nothing and like I didn’t know what I was talking about when o said it should not take that long to fix and the part should not be that much. I left the auto shop without my vehicle because they stated they did not have time to “put it back together”. Meaning they didn’t want to take 10-20 minutes to put the six screws back in my glove box to put it back in its place. I returned the next day to get my vehicle and received the same treatment. I went to autozone and ordered the part I needed for $60 and with the help of my uncle and brother we installed the new part in less than 2 hours. It’s a shame because we were loyal customers to them and have spent thousands of dollars there previously and never experienced that sort of treatment or behavior but this definitely caused us to never return and we tell everyone we know to avoid this place like the plague now.

Best auto shop in Terre Haute. Very fairly priced, Tom is very honest and very educated when it comes to auto repair. The man was an instructor, he taught auto repair to college kids. None better!!!

Our van broke down on the second day of a three week trip, leaving us stranded on the side of I77. A Dodge dealer in Terre Haute recommended this shop to us. They took good care of us, completing repairs in one day. Justin even drove us to our hotel and picked us up to collect the repaired van after the shop had closed for the day. Thanks!

I want to acknowledge, the mechanics and the owner for their patients that continued with support of my air conditioning and other problems with my car.Please understand they did not give up until they solved the problem.In closing I find it very entertaining that the History Channel was on television and there was enough snacks coffee and other means of support that made my entire visit so enjoyable.In Review, on a scale of 1 to 5, I wish to give this company a 10, Sir Thomas More took his trade name from ruler who was beheaded this Sir Thomas More that owns the company does not have to worry about that, he has provided things, services and human connection that Gos above and beyond anything ever set!!

Great people. They are very straight up about things and unlike other places you go to, they don’t want to charge for something that isn’t wrong with your vehicle. I will take my car back there in the future

As a college student hours from home this place made me feel as comfortable as possible getting my car fixed without my parents close. Their process of inspection and online results from the inspection is convenient and easy to involve my parents hours away. Prices are fair and affordable and they fit me in and got my service done fast so I would be ready to drive home that weekend!

Ive used Sir Thomas for about 15 years now and Ive always been happy with them. Tommy (the son) has taken over (or is slowly taking over) from the dad Tom, so itll be Sir Thomas for years. They give clear honest prices. They do excellent work. Ive never had any issues and its the only mechanic I ever plan to use. I have no idea why people pay the high prices for places like Belle Tire (over side of town) when you could go to Sir Thomas.

Driving from southern Illinois to Cleveland for a vacation and the check engine and stabili-trac lights both came on outside of Terre Haute. Found this shop via a search and pulled in at 4:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. Told Tom the problem and he offered a diagnostic scan telling me that is about all he could do at this hour. He checked it over, got us back on the road, and advised me on next steps. AMAZING service! Honest and fair. If ever in the area and I need service, definitely going here!

Early one morning on the way home from work my tire went flat. I just happened to be near Thomas Auto. I rolled in and although they werent open a man came out. Took my tire and repaired it. They fixed the issues with my car and now I can drive it again with safety and confidence. But I had to take it up there again shortly after getting my car back because of a cooling system issue. Look I’m not a car person but I’m glad they fixed it.

Highly Recommended shop. Theyre there to do their job, and theyre very serious about it. They do not try to rip you off or anything, in fact Tom told me exactly what went wrong, and he showed me the broken parts. I mean they are very serious and they do not joke about their job at all or tell you lies. I had transmission issue, to be honest I thought labor was little bit more expensive than what I had thought, but honestly, it is a transmission issue and maybe that what does make the labor little bit more expensive I assume. My car now runs very smoothly like there is no problem with it at all. I highly recommended them, very good people.

Not only was the service guy rude, he did not explain to us what was being done. Then told us unbelievable price, while not understanding we could have just called a friend to come and get us, because we only live 50 minutes away. We trusted that the work that was done was what was wrong but, we were mistaken we were traveling South and ended up having to turn around because the car was doing the same thing. By the time we turned around because it didnt seem like the issue was fixed with just an altenator the shop was closed !!! i Needless to say, we did get our car home! So the Quality = 1 Value = 1 and professionalism -3. Thank you!

Best car repair experience I have ever had! We were traveling back to our home in TX when our car broke down. We contacted the dealer in Terre Haute, who wasnt going to be able to get the needed parts and do the 5 hour repair until the following day. AAA recommended Sir Thomas, we contacted him and he got us in immediately. Not only did he have the parts available, but he was able to get us back on the road within 2 1/2 hours by putting two mechanics to work on our vehicle. Fuson automotive sold me a vehicle and didn’t tell me that it needed repairs. They tried to charge me an insane amount to fix it after just one week of owning it. I had it towed to Sir Thomas instead. He charged me half of what Fuson wanted to charge me. Honest prices, good quality and wants to help; so glad I went to them instead.

Great customer service and efficient, concise repair work

I have come into Sir Thomas Automotive twice spending hundreds of dollars to fix an air condition problem with my truck. Each time they failed to find the exact and root to the problem. Now, for a third time my air condition has failed with the same problem. There customer service attitude is very poor, they dont back any of there warranties...I feel you need to stay far away from Sir Thomas Automotive.

I brought my truck in after being told that my ball joints and tie rods were bad by another auto service company. The guys at Sir Thomas looked at everything and told me the original company had misdiagnosed the issue and discovered the real problem. They didn’t try to up sale me or take advantage.

I took car in to be looked at because transmission is slipping. They checked the wheel hubs with the computer diagnostic without asking for approval. I told them forget Ill get car and figure something else out.I went to pick up car and was told it would be $65 for the diagnostic I didnt ask for. Heres what I got for the $65. LF Speed Signal code erraticRTft signal erratic but no code.and about the transmission I wanted them to check out in first place??Transmission doesnt shift correctly but wasnt diagnosed at this time. Are you for real.Consumer beware and stay away from this place.
