Excellent customer service! Prompt service when in a pickle of an emergency repair. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for honest, reliable, and a hard working business who truly cares for their customers.

I usually NEVER will say or give a bad review but this one is warranted and they do not have a Facebook page so here it is!!Garvin and Lidster used to be such an honest place to take your car, they did great work and would not do you wrong.. WELL, I am here to say that has changed. My sister took my parents van up there several months ago to have everything looked over and if anything needed repaired to do so. Suppose ably they changed all hoses, did the brakes and checked the entire vehicle out and made sure it was good to go!! WELL!!!! NOT since this an additional $900.00 has been paid out for things that that another repair shop said should have been noticed if the other repair shop (Garivn and Lidster) had done what they said they had done, they even found hoses that were cracked that were actually original hoses and never changed.. $1700.00 to Garvin and Lidster for basically a simple break job because they did NOTHING they said they did..I DO NOT ever recommend anyone to take your vehicle to Garvin and Lidster.. I truly feel they owe my sister some major money back!!SO DISAPPOINTED!!! and SO un-necessary money spent!!

The only auto repair shop in town I trust. Ive had other shops lie to me saying I need something replaced and Garvin told me it wasnt needed. They have saved me hundreds, if not thousands in unneeded repairs.

Excellent service. I have taken my vehicle to this shop on a few different occasions. The customer service is always excellent. The mechanics at this shop make you completely understand you car problems, without talking down to you. Very quick turn around on most repairs.

They went out of their way to work us in and get us back on the road, and they were affordable, too. Went In to get an insurance work order quote. It was cheaper than the actual glass replacement shop. However Im not totally sure the young man looked it up properly due to a discrepancy in words on the estament .

Most honest and fair shop I have ever used. Having a few kids in college in Terre Haute the last few years, we have had several car issues and took them there at the recommendation of a friend. They are quick and very reasonably priced.

They are working hard to change the bad rap that car mechanics have. I drive from Indianapolis to have them work on my car!

I have a 2002 Ford F150 with 199,999 miles. Gavin & Lidster has serviced this truck several times and Im really impressed with there work. I have had a major tuneup, air conditioning work,brakes and other work done on the truck.My truck runs like new and Ive had no issues with it.I recommend them highly!

My Son is using one of my cars and living with his girlfriend in Terre Haute who is a student. The car just suddenly wouldnt start and considering Im in Greenwood I really couldnt offer much help. Not knowing of any Auto mechanics I took a chance with Garvin and Lidster. ONCE AGAIN I HAD CAR TROUBLE AND THEY WERE GREAT GETTING IT DONE AND ALWAYS VERY QUALITY SERVICE FOR THE PRICE.

Ive been here a couple of times, and have always be happy with the service.Needed to fix my power steering leak, and Midas immediately suggested to replace the power steering pump and quoted $800. Garvin and Lidster did an actual inspection to determine the issue and quoted me $250 to replace the hoses. Job was done, leak is gone, and they checked some other things with the vehicle.

I have never had these guys repair any of my vehicles but 8 years ago my Mazda 626 broke down across the street from them and I was quoted over $500 to replace a serpentine belt. Over priced grease monkey charged me $180 including a needed oil change and topped off my brake fluid and anti freeze. Read the replies from the owner, he is hostile and just sound like a crooked man, which is what quite a few people say. I dont know how he gets negative reviews removed. I always feel disdain for this place every time I drive by it!!!

Great service. I have taken all my automotive cares to Garvin & Lidster for years and they have been kind, courtesy, and informative for a fair and honest price. I highly recommend them.

I had a wheel bearing replaced. The service was good and the workers were friendly. However, after I got the receipt I looked up the part number listed. It was a Napa part and the Napa website listed it for $172. I was charged $335 for the part plus $112 for 1.4 hours of labor. I would expect the price for the part to be a little more expensive, but more than twice the listed price seems very excessive. Labor costs were $80 an hour, which seems reasonable, but I wouldn’t go back because of the exorbitant markup.

My experinece with Garvin and Lidster was awful. I had my starter go out and called them for a tow, i mentioned from the noises made it was most likely my starter, the next day they called and told me the battery was bad so they changed that. They charge a large premium on their parts, and two days after i got my car out of their shop my car died again. Sure enough it was my starter and they couldnt take a hint even when i was telling them. After the fact i asked if they would give me a discount for not catching the problem the first time rather, they charged me for another tow and put a large premium on the starter. TRASH COMPANY!

I havent had a major problem, so far, but anytime I need automotive care Garvin Lidster has always been there as a prompt, courteous and thorough repair service. I would not hesitate to return for there expertise on any auto service I may need. Thanks, guys!!

I have a 95 Wrangler 4 cyl with 335,000 miles and still going strong. Garvin and Lidster has serviced this vehicle for a very long time with the same mechanic doing the work. Some of the work has been pretty difficult but I am always satisfied with the work performed. Perhaps not the cheapest in Terre Haute but they are the best in my opinion.An update: this Jeep now has 350,000 miles on it. Terrible to say but I am going to have to say good by to it as the frame is rusting and the mechanic that always worked on it, said my old Jeep was becoming a safety issue and he was professional enough to say it is time to sell it. Trust these guys, they are good.
