ARTIST, BEWARE! I was invited to display my paintings at the museum for two months. I was given a contract to sign, saying that the museum is not responsible for any damages to my art work. I hesitated to go ahead with the display because of no assurance that my art would be safe. I discussed my concerns with the woman in charge of paperwork. She was very reassuring, saying there was no danger of damage, that a professional art handler would be hanging the paintings and taking them down, and the clause in the contract that I was concerned about only applied if I insisted on hang the art myself. After a lengthy discussion, she convinced me and I brought my work in for display. I went to pick up my paintings and noticed damage to my largest painting. It had several scratches and an inch long hole through the canvas. Someone had covered the hole with a piece of black tape. When asked what happened, no one there seemed to know what had damaged the painting.. The manager said Im sorry but you signed a contract.. ARTISTS, BEWARE!
My daughter just loves this little hidden gem in Temecula. The first floor is filled with so much history of Old Town and the second floor is completely hands on and all for children. My kiddo could spend hours there and its all creative and imaginary play. No screens! Its purely donation only which makes it great if you are looking for lower cost fun.
A gem of a museum. Awesome staff!
Perfect place to get out of the sun and learn something at the same time!
Went with my 5 kids and everyone liked it. The highlight for them was the kids area that they could play and learn. Will go again for sure.
They have good art work
They only ask for a five dollar donation. Its right in Old Town so an easy walk from everything there. Definitely worth stopping in.
I had the pleasure of having a Saturday morning walking tour of Old Town Temecula led by Mindy Johnson. It was a wonderful experience, and she brought the local history to life in a splendid way. Thank you to everyone involved with the museum, for making this treasure possible.
Nice experience. The second flood set up is a great pass time for young and old to enjoy.
Interesting, well organized
It was interesting to learn more about my hometown. I wish there was more to see and explore in the museum though. I did get to meet a familiar artist, Bob Roth the creator of the Cool Cat paintings.
Such a wonderful and quaint museum for our area. So much to learn about the history of temecula. Great place to take out of town visitors. The american farmer exhibit was truly awesome
The museum is a nice place to reminisce, the diorama of the town from the 1800s is the best part I think. Old Town Temecula is pretty much gone and its a shame.
We were so pleased to visit the museum on a day that Mr. Steve Williamson was there to talk with us. He made our visit so informational and fun. We are a family of Perry Mason fans so loved learning about Earl Stanley Gardner. This was a delightful, memory filled day. .
This is a fairly small museum, divided up into two floors. But it still has a good set of displays that adults and children will enjoy. The traveling exhibits that they bring in have been excellent, from circus posters to the history of political cartoons. Adjacent to the museum is a nice park and an interesting ibelisk listing famous people who have come through Temecula.
Interesting and fun
Beautiful and Clean, very informative as well. I wish it had more people who were interested in learning more about history
They present many different exhibits. Enjoyed Valley Winds Temecula Community Band concert at Sam Hicks Park today. Temecula has many fun events that are free.
This is a cool little free museum. It has information on Temeculas history. It has a small gift store. It also has some kids stuff upstairs, we almost missed it because you have to go up the elevator. My daughter loved the horse.
Lived here 17 years and this is the first time visiting. I really enjoyed learning about the local history and seeing the old time photos.
Exhibits on 2 floors each carefully curated. Definitely worth a visit. Can easily view in a few hours.
I love the whole feel if it, the local and Indian history. The park is nice with picnic tables. Fire station next door.
Very nice collection of materials about Temec & the surrounding area. I lived here 1953 - 1968 so it was really special to see so many familiar faces in the many photos that accompanied the exhibits. Place gives you a good feel for the history of the original inhabitants and the changes with waves of immigration/migration as the years went by.
Great little local museum; a must for Temecula residents and anyone interested in the areas history. The docent staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Great small museum if you have an hour spare...enjoyed the exhibits.
This was a wonderful find on the edge of Old Town Temecula. This little museum has excellent coverage of local history, from the time before the Spanish arrived up to today. The exhibits are well written and informative. Upstairs, there is an exhibit for Erle Stanley Gardner, creator of Perry Mason, who lived in Temecula. There is also a very good childrens play area with dress up clothes, a horse, and multiple history-based play areas. Currently, there is also an excellent exhibit on Americans volunteer involvement in World War 2. Admission is free, but there is a requested donation.
Very nice exhibits of local history. Particularly like the children section upstairs where kids can dress up and work in shops.
Very nice it was our first time visiting!
Great historic museum located in Old Town Temecula. A must visit for the whole family. Interactive activities for the children.

Very nice museum of Temecula. Also, has a great play area for kids.
Kids liked play area & extras in the shop. Historical displays they did find interesting.
We took our 6 and 4 year old grand-daughters and they loved it. The second floor has many hands on activities for the little people.
Good place to take kids. Very informative.
My son and I really enjoyed this museum
Worth visiting. Very interesting history of the area.
This place is fantastic, the staff here is very heelpful and the exhibits are very informative. I will bring my small cousin here next time he visits.
Very well-set-up guide very knowledgeable
Lots to see and do. Second floor has a lot more hands on things to do for people of all ages depending on what day of the week you go.
Love it here. Always so much fun.
A good museum for a history of the valley, located right near old town Temecula
Small but in a museum you will always learn history
Small, intimate, with nice display.

Great small.
Only need donation to serve old times.
