It’s not a bad commissary, bigger than most I’ve been to in other states. However, I’m not sure why it takes weeks to restock some items. Self checkout can be slow at times too, but regular cash registers are available. Overall not a bad place for basic necessities.

Hadnt been there in months. This trip brought back all the super memories. The ease of shopping, the finding of everythingI needed, terrific and highly professional staff. In and out with no problems.A big MAHALO and keep doing the excellent job of serving those who who have served.

Visiting our wonderful daughter who is stationed here at Macdill AFB . Wanted to pick up some MREs (got a case of those!) and saw they had sushi!! It was about $1 less than publix but equal-or-better quality. Plenty of wasabi supplied. They have chopsticks and plenty of soy sauce packets. Got some real Japanese green tea to wash it down. Employees are helpful, polite, and quick.

I often take my son shopping with me. This time he was blown away. The store is so much larger than it appears from the outside and carries a wide selection of products at low prices. The staff is super friendly. One lady ran all over the store to try to find what we were looking for. It reminded me of my life in the military one big family.

Always great place to shop, plenty of Butterball turkeys today so go get them.

Ive been on bases all over the country and this is one of the cleanest and nicest commissary locations ever.

Like going back in time. This giant sized supermarket reminds of the old ACME store we went to as a kid. Its actually a great experience and the prices you cant beat. A pork roast at Publix is $15.00++ and here the same pork roast is only $6.00. Theres a great representation of international foods at great prices. The staff are always friendly and everyone shopping are friendly, helpful and smile at you (which is a bit different than shopping in most off-base stores nowadays). There are perks to being a retired veteran and this is surely one of those perks. As for MacDill, its great to save shopping for last as the drive around the base is truly a great experience and if you have kids take them to the private beach, rent a boat (for nearly nothing for the day) or even go camping. MacDill, its people, community and those who serve are the hidden GEMS in our area.

Love the seafood and meats section in this base commissary! The Staff is top notch!!5 dollar steamed lobsters and 10 bucks for dozen rocking oysters!!Made lobsters salad and oysters on the half shell!!Boss lady loving life!MacDaddy Approved!!

Our favorite place to shop. We travel a good distance to shop here. Lower cost on most foods. Military family oriented.

Prices have soared. Cashiers have an attitude. And they charge a fee to pay with debit or credit. What a shame. This place was great at one time. I wont be back.

Some prices were cheaper but some were not. You also have to take in account the surcharge when calculating savings. Otherwise I like this commissary :)

Inconvenient hours, why does everything open at 9. Open at 7 to allow people coming to work a chance to stop by.

A great store and staff! Prices are very good compared to Publix or Winn-Dixie. Meats are very reasonable especially pork and chicken. Interesting selection of international foods due to Central Command Headquarters. Thank you !

One of the best Ive had the opportunity to use. Great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and huge selection of all other grocery needs. As well stocked as any civilian grocery store and cleaner than almost all! I hope the military never takes these options away from its members!

MacDill Commissary is very well stocked Again. Meat Prices are really good. Seafood Dept Staff is courteous and helpful. Nice Variety of fish and other seafood delights. Deli makes sandwiches to order and sells Boarshead Deli Meats.

Very organized, clean and seems to always have items in stock that you cant find in a lot of other places. The staff there is always helpful and mostly friendly. God bless the United States military!

Thankfully, theyve updated the registers and self-checkout machines.Offers sushi station, small deli, large fresh food area, and robust fresh seafood offerings, including lobster. Pricing is decent, but honestly not dramatically different from Sprouts or Publix.

Over 12 months and senior citizens and disabled are prevented from shopping early or even at 0900. Other commissaries have opened their doors wide.

Huge selections, prices varies in comparison with Walmart and publix with the buy 1 get one deals. Just have to do some research on prices if your looking for deals. But very convenient for the busy military life.

Best Meat and Best price too

Today was a perfect day for Commissary shopping. No crowds mid week, shelves well stocked, and easy checkout. I have a long commute so I was on my way with no delays.

Place is so big. They have everything you can think of. Did ALL of my Thanksgiving shopping here. Staff was fantastic too. Nice job!

This place is okay they have a decent selection of different foods especially International food. I cant really say this place is my favorite go to place the shop however whenever Im on TV why in the local area I feel compelled to go here and spend my money. Still not sure why there is a surcharge.

Its a fine grocery store with decent options that suit a variety of dietary preferences. Produce here is iffy though which is why I rated it 4 stars

Very circus-like.. kinda a madhouse. All communication to customers goes through loud speaker. Next on register 1 HELLO EVERYBODY NEXT ON REGISTER 9.. COME ON DOWN NNNN!The location has an alright selection of products. But the flow of the area is very very poor. And the constant loud speaker will give you anxiety. They have a line board.. its either not working or they dont want to use it.I mean the place has potential. But seems to be poor space management and upkeep. I honestly wont be back. I dont like feeling trapped and yelled at constantly.

Very good pricing. The commissary is well stocked, clean and well maintained.

Does not have all of the products that it should. Also, there is a limit on about a dozen products that included odd items like liquid hand soap - not sanitizer, soap, despite there being no shortage. You can only buy two.

I understand we are in a pandemic but we went grocery shopping today and we were only allowed one half gallon of milk, and we couldn’t get a half gallon of almond milk too. Only one “milk”... but we cannot feed our family with just one type of milk? I’m lactose intolerant but my husband isn’t? How is that fair? We only bought what we needed but these rules and regulations are getting excessive. The guy behind us was trying to get two half gallons of milk to equal one gallon for his family and they denied him a half gallon too. Even the manager did not care. I understand taking care of your people, I understand taking only what you need, but I need one milk and my husband needs another. Bottom line.

M-F only open to active duty and their dependants until 10AM. One of the busiest commissaries in the DECA system - 90% of the shoppers are retirees that move two speeds: slow and stopped. Oddest stockage levels I have ever seen: too much processed food, and not enough organic. Absolutely cheaper to shop off post, pay the taxes, and earn points while you do it - the surcharge (while less than Florida taxes) doesnt save money since the prices are higher on base and the selection is all sugary, salty, processed, and/or unhealthy.

MacDill commissary was a disappointment. Im not sure why, but the store was almost empty. But what disturbed me was the selections were fewer, with the exception of toilet paper and paper towels - plenty of those articles. Almost seems like the purchasing managers simply didnt buy numerous products. Never seen so many frozen items / rows empty.
