We made our reservation on May 6 to do the pottery class as a gift for my mom. The cost for 2 people was $100.70. The clay throwing experience was ok, considering we had never done it before, but the girl kept fixing and adjusting our pieces and at the end, she pretty much asked us what we were trying to create and just made it herself. Once our clay was off the wheel, we had the opportunity to use hand clay pieces to add embellishments. This part was fun cause not much skill was required. When it was all done, we handed off our pieces and were told to come back in 2 weeks and they would be baked and ready to paint. We returned on May 20 and our pieces were not ready. A week after that, I called to ask if they were ready. I was asked to text the business cell phone with photos of our pottery so they could locate them. I texted and did not get a reply. I also sent a message on Facebook on June 10 which was also not responded to. Lastly, we tried one more time to visit and ask about our pottery and when I walked in, the owner was busy with another class and rudely asked me to come back another time.I am so disappointed in this experience as there are not many places in Tampa that offer pottery wheel classes. If they had accidentally lost or damaged our pieces (which we paid $100 for), they should offer a refund since we left this experience empty handed.

This place really is perfect for a kids craft day or a romantic date night. My 8 year old had been dying to try the pottery wheel and Jon was absolutely amazing with him. Super patient, super helpful without being overbearing/taking over, and he explained everything in a way that kept his attention and helped him understand what was happening and why. He got more clay to work with than he knew what to do with. I cant wait to go again and try it myself next time.

Words cant express how wonderfully anything places is. Jonny is a passionate man. This place allows you to explore and express your self. I been coming her for over a year and 8ts always enjoyable.

We went to drip today and had the best time. My son has been wanting to do some clay crafts and when I saw this place I knew we had to try it. John was amazing. He taught them how to use the wheel to make a bowl and was so helpful and patient. Very welcoming. I highly recommend Drip and we will definitely be going back.

The experience was fun but there’s no for sure day you’ll get your finished project. Me and my friend went to Drip June 12 and we were told that our projects would be completed (put in the kiln) in 10 days. Today June 25, 13 days later I left work on my lunch break to pick it up. My friend’s project was done and my project was still sitting on the shelf with clear glaze. Both of our projects were done the same day completed at the same time. I don’t really understand how the system or rotation works but that does not make sense. The frustrating part is that we have to pay before we get our finished project and I personally believe if you’re paying money for something you should know exactly when you’re going to get it. The experience is fun the waiting game is not. A more organized system needs to be put in place. On top of that he didn’t even offer to put in in the kiln immediately for my troubles but told me it would be ready by Tuesday, 17 days later. At this point it may be kept with the other finished projects no one has picked up. It’s obvious why.

If you’re looking for a fun date night I recommend this place 100%. It’s a two part date night, one to make your piece and one to paint it.We came here late one night spontaneously and everyone was super nice and extremely helpful. The vibe is just right and is truly an inspirational space.Thank you guys for such a great experience. I can’t wait to come back :)

Came in for my birthday with some friends the owner was super friendly and attentive to all our needs the place was hip fun & unique the music was a perfect touch to the atmosphere would recommend this to anyone celebrating anything specially if they’re looking to have a good time !! Thank you jon and staff for making my birthday perfect I love the pieces I picked up yesterday will be back soon !!!!!!

I am giving this place 2 stars because the employees are friendly, however, this business is poorly ran. I came with a friend to take a pottery on the wheel class - which was great. We were told to come back in 2 weeks to paint our pottery. Okay, no problem. We come back and our pottery wasn’t ready/dried and was told to come back in another week. Ugh. So we come back again to paint and while we were there, an angry customer came in yelling at the owner about how she had a similar situation like we did (having to come back multiple times for her pottery). The place is small so everyone heard that conversation. Need to get better at establishing timelines so people do not need to come back multiple times.

So guys, real stuff... this place is perfect for date nights, perfect to hang out with friends. The customer service is on next level... it was my first time doing pottery and I was stressed. They made my experience easy and I actually ended up making something I’m happy with. Please support their business, very welcoming and supportive people couldn’t say any other words about them!

Such a cool place. They let us paint outside in the fresh air. My daughter painted a little Groot planter and everyone is just so amused by it. When we came home she immediately dug up one of my aloe vera plants and potted it inside of him herself. She cant wait to go back and paint another object she saw there as a gift for her big brother. Cant reccomend this place enough. Super nice people, family friendly, just a really positive vibe and atmosphere.

I was looking for a place to rent a wheel for throwing pottery, its all seemed in order, but everything the owner told me, he never followed through with, starting with the very 1st pieces I made, he was supposed to bisque fire them a certain day, a monday, so I gave home till Friday to get being that I was busy anyway, but when I get there Friday there still green, so i couldnt put glaze to finished them,it took another week, then I finally glaze them and he didnt fire them to a high enough temp to it was all cloudy, then he said he would refire the pieces, so I comeback 2 weeks later and he never even refired them,and thats not even the reason Im leaving this review, a

They’re not professionals/serious business at all, I had a very bad experience and this is NoT the way America does business, they lied about the days my custom shirt 👕 it was going to be ready to be picked up, they told me Saturday, then Monday, and when I showed up on a Tuesday it was not ready at all, so I waited another 24 hours and by Thursday afternoon still not ready. “I ended up taking my business somewhere else” The guys here are having to much high parties they should be focusing more in their customers and show more professionalism.The girl Tatiana was very friendly and helpful she was even worried my shirt wasn’t ready. Overall it was a mess almost like dealing with high schoolers. Yikes situation

Such an amazing experience! The whole ambience of the studio is so inviting and colorful ! There’s also some cute little pets if you take a look around ! The owner Johnny is absolutely amazing and was so knowledgeable and helpful with anything we needed! And WAYYY more color glaze options then any other studio I’ve ever been too ! Went with a party for hand modeling, spoke with the owner in advance. He was able to accommodate all of us and we had a blast! Ive never worked with clay, but the staff was very helpful in guiding us through the process and help us realize our vision. Highly recommend!

Went to this place for the first time and absolutely LOVED it!! From the cozy feeling to the friendliness of its owner John, I had the best experience! I also took my daughters and they LOVED it so much that they cant wait to go again and get creative! I recommend this place 1000%!!!

They do not stick to their store hours. The owner is irresponsible and treats his employees badly.

I was very excited to come and paint pottery with my friend and I called a head of time around 3 to ask if they were open. An employee answered and told me they would be open in around 30 mins and upon arrival the store was still closed. Online it was also posted that they open at noon.I gave the benefit of the doubt and waited around an hour and still no one came to open the store. This is very disappointing and a waste of time.

The Drip Ybor surpassed all expectations of a perfect date night. A big thank you to the amazing Charlie who was patient and helpful every step of the way as we learned the pottery wheel. Without her our creation wouldnt have come together looking like a bowl. We look forward to our next visit !

My husband was so upset to discover that his pottery was never fired. He went drip multiple times to check on the process and was lied to on when it would be completed. Today was the last straw when he went in to see the progress and the owner completely ignored him and passed on responsibility to the employee to tell him they still werent done. Wouldnt recommend if you want to get your pottery back.

Came here on a whim while walking down mainstreet Ybor while visiting for my birthday. The owner hooked us up with a customizing T-Shirt experience where we co-designed something. He was so patient and had super great ideas for the design. We loved spending time there. The vibe is chill and so many of his friends popped in to say hey. You can totally tell he has developed great rapport with people. We ran into him the very next day (today) and he remembered us and waved. It was so sweet I legit wished we were locals so we could visit more often. Thanks for a great time!

I’m giving this place 1 star review because we called and they said “we are open”, even told us to come in, but when we came the store is closed. We sat here for 1 hour waiting and nobody came. Also, on the website they say they are open, but they are not here.

A new and fresh addition to Tampa this year, DRIP is already establishing itself as a welcoming breeding ground for all artists, visionaries and anyone of all ages who loves the culture. Right when you walk in, you get a sense of nostalgia that hits from wall to wall.I love being able to come in and have the numerous options of what I want to do. Not only myself, but my wife adores coming in to paint anything and everything she can get her hands on, plus our children (six and three) come in to do things they dont normally get to do at home!In addition to the entire catalogue of ceramics, pottery and custom apparel options Jon and his family owned art venue offers, the night life events are buzzing too! From the poetry slams to 101 classes to art galleries, it is an exciting time and space for any new or veteran artist to be able to create, display and perform their work.Anybody who doesnt agree might need to do some soul searching, I highly recommend for all to come experience!!

Not only is this place insanely unique but it has such an amazing atmosphere for really exploring and letting your creativity run wild. From community events like : poetry slams, movie and paint nights to specialty classes and a POTTERY WHEEL!!!! You are sure to enjoy yourself whether you are there with a friend, date night, or celebrating a special occasion. My friends and i did a ceramics class to celebrate my birthday and everyone loved it! I have been back many times since and has even purchased some of their unique apparel which i love! As a designer I love the creative environment for every kind of artist, I showed up to an event and met so many talented and fun people all good vibes, plus you have so many options to unleash your inner artist I tried out the pottery wheel and made my own custom shirts! High vibe space to create, express, share and be inspired. The community is lucky to have it! Very unique and I wish there was one where I live in Colorado. I went in because the name intrigued me and I knew I had to come up with a shirt design. Two days before I left for home I thought of something and the owner whom is also the artist helped me get even more creative with the design so I left him with my shirt and picked it up the next day. Needless to say it turned out krispy af. I love it and would recommend 10/10.

I visited this place thanks to a groupon deal with my daughter. My first impression was wow what a cool artsy place right in the heart of Ybor. The walls were filled with interesting artwork from local artist. We were greeted by John and he was so welcoming and friendly. I felt like we had been friends forever. He showed us what to do and provided assistance as needed. The cherry on top for me was when i told him my vision of having a bicycle on my mug. He quickly offered to have one printed for me on his computer so i could trace it on my mug. He went above and beyond and he is so great with kids. My daughter and I had such a great time and I would definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

Drip has grown into my favorite shop in Ybor, the owners are very welcoming! I had such a great first experience that I continue to do business here, from throwing my own ceramic bowls, working on art projects, to attending art shows, & poetry slams, Drip is kid friendly so even the little ones have something to paint here! John also helped me customize my own logo & guided me through my first wheel throwing when I had no clue how to start. Definitely a place for creatives & for those that want to just make something special!

My sister and I discovered DRIP shortly after we moved to Tampa, and quickly fell in love with the place, now we come every week.The atmosphere is stylish but laid back, artsy but not snobby, and super inclusive of LGTBQ and all sorts of walks of life. So it matches the spirit of Ybor perfectly. At the shop you can paint premade ceramics, throw some clay on the wheel, attend a sculpting class, print custom t shirts and even catch an open mic night.John and his wife are always super friendly, they’ll talk to you about anything and are always working on some fun project. John is also a great instructor, he keeps things fun. He gives you enough direction to accomplish what you want, and let’s you learn the rest on your own. With his help I’ve gone from an absolute beginner on the pottery wheel, to making pieces I’m really proud of.The whole place encourages creativity on all levels, so whether your just looking to do something with the kids or an artist in need of a laid back studio, Drip is the place for you.

I ordered a custom printed shirt, paid for and had a day to pick it up about a week later. When I showed to get my shirt not only was it not finished but there was no invoice. No record of my payment even though he remembers me. The shirt color I ordered was not in stock. He even relayed a story about him showing my tshirt design to another customer. There is open beers all over the counter which to me explains the lack of professionalism displayed at this shop. Clsiming to be a new small business does not absolve you from poor standards. I wanted to continue to use this store for custom jobs but I cannot be wasting time and money on a company that is poorly run.

The staff is really nice and helpful. They seem patient with kids when giving instructions and have options for them to try.

DRIP is a safe haven for all creatives of Tampa! there’s a lot of ceramics to paint, wheel throwing, some of the dopest community-created jewelry and merch, he makes awesome shirts, plus the music is always fire. Jon is literally the coolest shop owner I’ve met. also became a home to the BEST music & poetry scene of tampa florida, the shows are something you don’t wanna miss at all.
