Called for a new tire purchase due to slow leak. Price over the phone was $106. Upon arrival, Brian tells me $212. I explained the price I was told over the phone, so he goes back to the tire rack and finds the tire for $106. In an hour, Brian tells me I need a new battery and the car wont start. I walk out front where the car is parked and the tech is looking at my tire size. I ask about the car starting. He says, I wouldnt lie to you, the car wont start. I demand my keys, get in the car and it starts immediately with no issue. I explain to Brian, I want my tire fixed and I want to leave. Im watching the tech attempt to change my tire because at this point Im questioning the service, and he is looking at all the tires, going around the car several times. Then, even though I explained which tire had the leak, Ben asked me which tire. Very disappointed in the experience.

Went in due to my tire sensor light going off (and honestly Im always a little paranoid that Ill get a flat) and just asked them for the tire pressure check and possibly fill if needed. Super polite and helpful. Within 30ish mins they come back and hand me my keys and say Im good to go. There was a nail in my tire and they patched it for free. So, for those who say they are only friendly because they want your money, obviously not true. Would def recommend this location and will go back if I need car help again

I am a college student at USF and found a nail in my tire today. I started freaking out because tires are expensive to replace and I did not know if they would be able to patch it. I came home from work and discovered a roofing nail in my tire (we just had our roof redone last week) I always hate leaving things for tomorrow. So I headed out to get my tire fixed. I first went to tire kingdom and was turned away because they were too busy and short staffed....I only went there because it was close. I was then like I will go to pep boys like I should have done first. I get there and they were honest with me and said the wait would be over an hour. I told him no problem and we chatted for a bit and I went to sit down and wait. When my tire was fixed, to my surprise, he said there was no charge! Amazing. I never expect any service to be free and I knew I would have to wait over an hour to get my tire fixed.i have yet to have a bad experience with them.

My experience at this Pep Boys was much better than the one in W Hillsborough. They were accommodating, smiled and we had a few laughs. They fully explained everything to me in a pleasant manner.

These folks back up their work and stand behind their warranty. I know this from prior experience. Today, I replaced my battery, and had AutoZone check my charging system. They indicated I needed a new starter, so I came to Pep Boys on Florida Avenue. Pepboys quickly figured out that I didnt need a starter, and they didnt even charge me for the diagnosis.

One of the Bay Workers got argumentative with My Father, whos Elderly and simply asked when they would take the Car off the Lift so we could take the Car back. Took the car in for the Free Check Engine Light service and ended up paying for Several Things. Not Happy.

This place gets zero stars!On June 2021, I took my vehicle to the 10124 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33612 location for brake service. After they allegedly replace and / or repaired all four sets of brake pads and I paid more than $1,000, there was a noticeable ratling coming from the left front wheel area when I hit a bump while driving in the parking lot. One of the employees claimed that the noise was due to the vehicles struts being bad and they quoted a price approximately $2,000. I was suspicious and immediately took the vehicle to the dealership for a second opinion. An inspection revealed that the bolts on the left front brake caliper was loose and the dust covers missing. Also, the right rear brake caliper dust covers were missing and the electronic brake sensor was improperly connected. I contact the service department by telephone to inform them of the results from the dealerships inspection and complained about the poor workmanship and the call was disconnected. I immediately called back and the call was again disconnected. Basically, the person I spoke to kept hanging up on me, because he wanted me to bring the vehicle back so they could do their own inspection and I told him that the vehicle was being repaired at the dealership because I refused to drive it back in the condition it was in. The bottom line is, the so-called Pep Boys technician created the problem so they could scam me for more money.

I had a key lug nut that was jammed. My key to remove the lug nut was broken and I brought it in to pepboys on Florida Ave. They were amazing and got the lug nut off without they key in 20 min for both rims on the rear. Amazing!! Great staff and reliable work!!!

I had a flat tire, which occurred quickly. I called before stopping by and was told to stop by. They closed at 7pm, and I got there about 6:15pm. Carter, at the front, took care of me right away. They said the tire was fixed, and the fee was taken care of by Pep Boys. I am grateful for their service and assistance.

I came in early for an appointment that I made online; not only did they get me in earlier, they got me out before my original scheduled time. Incredible service.

All that I explained in the online form was null, went unread, having to explain again. They were apparently unable to detect an issue without being present with the car at the occasional instances when the issue occurs, even with my explanation of when it occurs. And the Fortiva credit card they lure you into is absolute crookery. Qualifying gives a discount on the oil change per the lie told to me? Nope. I learned that only on the receipt. I couldnt pay off the purchase charged to Fortiva the same day because I didnt have the card yet. Now Fortiva is charging me over double the original due with unexplained fees on the statement.

As a girl, of course having to bring your car to a mechanic shop can sometimes not be the best experience, but the employees here really made it clear that they care about their customers. I felt confident talking with Carter about the suggestions he provided and the advice for maintenance that my car needed. I trust them for my service needs and have always had great results. They have been on time for all my visits and won’t go anywhere else.

Pep boys has always treated me well. Being a widow Ive always been wary of car service places tending to take advantage of a woman alone seeking care for her car....but not with Pep boys! They searched their tire types for the best price tires with the longest milage wear for the price I wanted to pay and then installed the two tires I needed as well as rotating and balancing those new tires, plus sold me a good one year warranty against problems with those new tires! Im very satisfied with the price and service I received!

The staff is friendly however your diagnostic fees are outrageously high! First off I would never pay any shop up front. Before touching my vechice. How suspose charge someone first before even looking at the car. Your business should think on parts and labor. Not overhead! Charging people to diagnose and then after charge them again for labor and parts isnt right at all!RIP OFF!

Dear owner, today 01/17/2021, I had an appointment for your establishment at 9:00 AM for an oil change and tire rotation, unfortunately I had to walk out on my appointment after I was told my price out of the door will be $114, I should have checked to see if you had changed your name to Jiffy Lube. For starters, your crew did not arrive to work on time, you had three customers and an employee locked outside of your store at 9:03 AM which does not talk very high of your management. Upon been checked in for the appointment, I was asked again, So, you want Mobil 1 oil? To which I answered that I didnt care if it was Mobil 1, Penzoil 1 or Pepboys 1, as you see in the image I uploaded, if you make an appointment the only choice for synthetic oil is the Mobil 1 and if you see on the top of the image the vehicle being serviced was a Prius which only uses synthetic oil. I believe the reason of the questioning is to let me know that you have more choices but for the love of God you just not upsell your customers unless giving them all the choices they have. I communicated to your staff that Toyota dealerships will charge around $70.00 for the same service and they even do a complete check for the vehicle. The only reason I have not been to Toyota is because Im on a new job location and I have yet to be acquainted with the area. Upon letting the gentleman checking me in know that I did not want any service, he tells me to hold on and turns to the gentleman next to him to ask him in my face Could we do better?, although the other gentleman tells me that the oil change comes with a complete car check, please try to put it in writing as you make your appointment so theres no miscommunication. Well needless to say that I still walked away from your location. By the way, I called the PepBoys of Dale Mabry and Busch Blvd and talked to Michael and the oil change is $73.00 plus some nominal fee for additional oil after 5 quartz if needed, tire rotation free.My obvious reason to write in here is not to damage your image, but for you and your management to fix the issue and continue to excel in business. Everything I have written is fixable and I hope you get encouraged to do better by your customers.With gratitude,

I basically was there for 2 hours and they never even started working on my car. It was the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. There was goir cars in the garage and zero machinic working. I finally just told the manager to give me my keys. If I could give them a negative star, I would. I will never go back there again.

Purchase a set of new tired about 6 mo. ago along with warranty and service package. One tire went flat, was told it could not be repaired and would cost nearly what I paid fir the tire to replace it! Warranty is useless. They also did not return the spare tire to its proper location under the truck bed. Poor service, would not recommend.

Just went in and bought 4 brand new tires for my 2009 Police Intercepter. Jeff and Ben were great. I had on line coupons. They made sure all went through. Also explained everything to me. Got a great deal on tires and a oil change. I was in and out by the hour. Very happy with the customer service from beginning to end.

Took my car in for alignment & to have a tire put on. Got billed for tpms sensor rebuild when all I wanted them to do is activate it but tire light is still on with no explanation. Then when they did an alignment on my car the traction control light came on & the sevrice manager swore it nothing they did all they did is touch the steering linkage he his words. They could not tell me why me light was on. I was told to bring it back 3 days later after disabled a safety feature on car. When I paided & already had an appointment to bring my car in for the alignment. Turns out the traction control light was on because there was a code c1290 the steering wheel angle sensor need the be recalibrate when they did the alignment to show the new steering wheel position where the new 0 is in it new 0 position. I did this & figure this out with my buddy hand held scanner at home when I paid u for yr services. Unfortunately my car drifts to the right so I have to go back because I paided for my alignment already it wasnt free or else Id go somewhere else.. yr mechanics should be able to read my traction control light & figure out what I did & a print out for the alignment would of been nice to.

Im a frequent visitor of pep boys. They have excellent customer service employees are standing by and ready and willing to answer any of my questions each time Ive been there. But this particular time I came to return a couple of products that did not work and the gentleman was respectful polite and professional and handling my return which I appreciated. He made my experience pleasant and what I look for is not when things are going right but when they are not going as planned and employees that tells me a lot about the business in this case I was happy as always I believe the store is clean and well organized however I give them a four stars cuz I believe that theres always room for improvement. In this case pricing was a little too high no fault to the employees. I will be back continue doing what youre doing

Bought 2 tires from here, had no issues there. Brought my vehicle in for an inspection, got charged $70 for it and the tech who did the inspection failed to mention to me that I am missing a whole rear brake caliper and then over tightened my tire lug nuts, when I came to pick up my vehicle I asked for a detailed report of the diagnostics and never received it. The tech failing to tell me that I was missing a whole brake caliper and set of brake pads is a huge liability problem, luckily I was getting ready to do my own brake rotor and pad change and came across this. Will not bring my vehicle back since now I do not trust the job to be done properly by these obviously inexperienced techs.

After going to two different popular chain repair locations I decided to see what Pep Boys would quote for complete rear brakes ( pads and rotors) and four tires. i was pleasantly shocked. the tires alone were $426 cheaper than the lowest Firestone had to offer. I was able to get my rear brakes, 4 tires, alignment, battery service and labor for $950 plus tax. Firestone wanted over $1200 for the same service and they werent charging alignment since I have lifetime service with them.The man at the service desk, Ben was helpful and friendly and found me $150 worth of discounts. They offered to have lyft take me home and they would pick me up when my car was ready. That to me was a huge perk, but since I had errands to run wouldnt work for me this time. The manager then came forth and offered their Enterprise discount. What company gives such excellent service these days. I was floored. Not only did I save on my rental but they took care of returning it so I didnt have to make an extra stop.I will definitely be returning for all my future automotive needs
