This guy Sam is a scammer Do not take your car there I’ve taken my Audi there before and these guys made the car worse rather than fix it!! And made me pay for what they messed up on?!? Does this make sense?!? There’s a reason why Sam and SCAM rhyme!

If you want to pay upfront for labor without the job even being done, this is the place to go! I was overcharged, the quality of the job was poor, and I ended up having to take it to a different mechanic for him to fix the work done by this place. It would be one thing to pay a large amount of money for a job well done, but $1700 later and I was still having problems - not to mention that the communication was poor and staff was rude. Will not be coming back.

Each time something is wrong with my car, I bring it to ST Foreign Auto. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly, do a fantastic job fixing my car, and are able to fix my car in a timely fashion for a great price. I would highly recommend ST as a place to buy a vehicle or to get your own vehicle fixed

My boyfriend and I took our car to this shop and it was the worst service I have ever seen. They overprice and are completely rude. They also hide secret charges and don’t give info on how much they are going to charge you until after. My boyfriend was asking questions and the guy on the phone was rude and did not care about us as customers. He also hung up the phone when we were not finished with the conversation. We actually chose to take our car from this auto shop to another because of the way we were treated and overpriced! Do not take your car here.

They tell me the instrument cluster doesnt work because I used jumper improperly. The voltage was too high then burned the cluster inside. They say they need to buy a new cluster which is over 2k dollars. I dont believe it so I pay 200 dollars and get my car back, then go to another auto repair shop. After simply reconnection, this cluster works again.Considering looking for help from SU legal service.#############update_1#############reply from owner:We don’t know what was done to your vehicle to make it work but I know in order for us to warranty our work, the proper procedures have to be met.my reply:obviously, your proper procedures didnt work. My friends reconnection made it work again.my question:You stated the cluster was shorted out in diagnosis, why it can work again?

Review amended 8/12/18 with new information. My 19 year-old daughter took her recently purchased 2004 Mercedes ML350 here. She had been told by a mechanic where she bought the car that it needed a LF tie rod and RR control arm. She gave ST this information and asked him to determine and perform any work needed to make the vehicle safe - tie rods, for example, but not shining up the headlights. He determined she needed only rear sway bar links and RR trailing arm with ball joint. He did this work, along with a state inspection. We asked about the tires and he said they were fine. One month and under 400 miles later, she went off the road in wet weather and hit a tree. She is in a neck brace both otherwise OK. The car had $1500 in damage. Two different mechanics (3, if you count a member of my family who is a mechanic) said the vehicle was badly out of line and the tires so bald as to be illegal. This baldness happened in one month and under 400 miles. When she took the car to another mechanic for new tires and post-accident repairs, this mechanic refused to put tires on without doing an alignment, and he said he was unable to do the alignment without replacing the tie rods because they were too rusted. So, it seems STs judgment about needing to replace the tie rods was badly mistaken. His judgement put my kid at risk, and cost her more money than she had.I did go visit him halfway through this sequence to see what I might have misunderstood. He said, There is nothing I can do for you.

TERRIBLE experience. I dropped my car at 9am and they told me I can get my car at noon. Once I called them in the noon they told me they need another 2 hours to complete. Again I called them at 2pm and they said their Internet crashed so they cannot do anything today. THAT IS A 60 YEARS COMPANY DID FOR THE CUSTOMER.

Excellent service. Im very picky about where I take my bmw. Took my car here for an oil change. Right from the start Sam was very helpful. He even gave me a ride too and from a diner near by while the service was completed. They use the correct oil. Since I travel long distances and across states in my vehicle I asked for him to look it over and fine any potential problems. He identified a few needed repairs and based off this first visit I will be returning to have him and his team complete them and a few performance upgrades down the road that Id like done. 5/5 would definitely recommend.

Safely home thanks to Sam and the ST Foreign Auto TeamWe are from Ottawa, Canada and have a well maintained 1997 BMW 320i. We experienced a breakdown rendering the car unmovable while in the Syracuse and Finger Lakes area. Through a stroke of good we found ST Foreign Auto. After diagnosis of the problem it was found that a major repair needing a rear axle and the associated parts replaced was immediately needed.Sam was able to source all parts required (including the hard to find axle in Texas) and had them shipped and replaced in less than 24 hours. We were on our way and finished our trip with a minimum of inconvenience and anxiety. The car performed flawlessly after the service and as mentioned we are now safely home.I’d like to thank Sam and Jim in particular for making a very difficult situation that could have been a disaster turn out well and would recommend ST Foreign Auto to anyone needing quality, professional service. Thanks again guys! All the best, Bill and Judy (Ottawa, Canada)

If I could give negative stars, I would. COMPLETE RIP OFF! I got my car done here back in April and the job was so poorly done. Everything is falling apart and when I took it to another shop back in my hometown, Queens, NY, they had told me that some of the parts were fixed with FAULTY USED CAR PARTS! My daughter who is a student at Syracuse University left a previous review and they replied with “I don’t believe we have you as one of our customers in our file” when SHE’S the one that took it to the shop. When she left that poor review, they also kept constantly bugging my daughter when she was in her classes, asking her for a better review. So unprofessional and the job was so poorly done. They overprice all of their services as well. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR CAR!

Do NOT I REPEAT DO NOT take your car here I just spent 3000 dollars for them to fix my x5 rough idle they took damn there a month to get done with it and the guy told me it’ll be done in a week and then they wanted another 3500 to fix a head gasket mind you I paid a separate 125 for a full diagnostic. How did they miss my car needing a head gasket? Long story short the main reason I brought my car to them they not only did they not fix it they made the car drive worse than it originally did and they guy who runs the damn shop didn’t even tell me when I picked my car up that he didn’t fix the rough idle which is the main reason I brought it to him initially! 3000 dollars for absolutely NOTHING. Trust me when I say take your hard earned money ELSEWHERE! I’m saving you time and money trust me.

Moved up here during the record setting heat wave this past summer with a broken air conditioner. Other shops were quoting us upwards of $900-$1000 dollars. Not only did ST Foreign Auto fix it the same day we brought it in, they also did a tune-up and oil change all for a fraction of what other places were wanting just to fix the air conditioning. Highly recommended. They will treat you right!

The owner Sam took advantage of me not being knowledgeable of my car. Told me i needed a new fuel pump and i gave them the okay to do so, after charging me around $2,000 he called to say the fuel pump went bad do to my exhaust/cats being bad and would cost another $3,900. I feel as if he waited to tell me after work was done so he would still get paid for something and my local mechanic laughed when i told him Sam had told me my cats caused my fuel pump to go bad. Beware they are a rip off and the owner is disrespectful the only respect I received was from the kind lady at the desk and one of the mechanics was also very respectful. The lady at the desk and the mechanic (dont know his name) deserve better than working at st foreign auto or atleast deserve a better more respectful boss.

I dont know what these other guys are whining about, my experience with ST Foreign auto was EVERYTHING positive. I took my car in for shaking in the front end. It was diagnosed as a bearing and I was given a fair price to fix it from Sam. He reminded me it was time for an oil change and I okd that repair. I felt no high-pressure sales or inferior in any way! Sam gave me a courtesy ride home and picked me up the NEXT DAY when the repairs were completed. Rebecca was fantastic to talk to and the atmosphere in the shop was cheery . I recommend this shop for any repairs and will continue to take my car here ! THANK YOU

I am a student attending Syracuse University and just recently had an accident. I had my spring break last week and so I left my car at this auto shop before break which was on the 8th of this month. It is now the 19th and i just got back to the university. I called to ask if the car was ready so I can pick it up as it is my only way of transportation around here and need it ASAP. The guy that I spoke to on the phone gave me an attitude and was VERY rude when I spoke so politely to him and said that they ordered the parts to my car last Thursday. I understand that Im not their only customer and that they need to evaluate the car but it really took them a week to order parts and 2 weeks to start on my car? To the person that I spoke to on the phone, please provide better customer service. Now I know why yall have a rating of only 2 and a half stars.

Complete rip off, had no clue how to properly fix vehicle. Had to take car to other shop to have the entire job redone correctly. $3700 to have the car broken at ST foreign auto, and $2900 to have the exact same job fixed- done by another shop. I found extensive damage all over the exterior of my car, the frame around drivers door was scratched and dented from a pry bar. Furthermore, I demanded my car back 4 days before he would give it back. They kept it disassembled so they could continue to work and m the fuel gauge they broke, which worked fine when car was brought in.
