Very impressed! I was not expecting a great experience as I’ve had bad past experiences with other auto repair companies in the area. I can definitely say that I was more than satisfied with the service that I received at this AAMCO location. They quickly identified the issue with my transmission and the repair was very quick and thorough. The staff is very friendly and explain exactly what is needed and how to fix it. I recommend this location with all surety.

I called them with my problem about my power steering pump on a Monday and my car was in their shop getting repaired by Wednesday. My car was fixed all in one day. I was given an accurate/great quote over the phone also. Natalie was very professional and so nice in-person and over the phone. This is my first review I ever put on Google. The customer service was outstanding and the price was a lot less than what I was expecting. While I was there waiting for my truck to get finished I texted my cousin to bring her car there if it ever needed to go to a shop to get fixed. This is the definition of a great small business. The owner was very nice and friendly the entire time I was there. I’m definitely making this the only place I’ll bring my truck to get fixed.

First of all I would like to thank Mrs. Natalie Schick of AAMCO of Summerville, S.C. and her team of mechanics. I was traveling to Summerville, S.C. from Charlotte, N.C. I was 78 miles from hotel when I heard the rpm revving very high and the engine light came on. I decided to continue on my journey, but the car would not go higher than 30 mph. Thank the Lord I was able to make it to the hotel. When I got to the hotel the first thing I did was to look for a auto repair shop. I had no luck everyone was booked up or they did not do transmission work. Monday morning I called another repair shop and he said he can look at the car, but if it is the transmission he couldn’t fix it. I asked did he know anyone who can and he gave me the number to AAMCO. I called right away and Mrs. Natalie answer the phone. She was very courteous and knowledgeable about the situation.I can tell she was very skilled in customer service.She made me feel very comfortable with the company. I had the car towed to her shop and she called me when the car arrived and told me it was my transmission. She said that they can put a remanufactured transmission in it place. Every day they were open Mrs. Natalie keep me updated about the process of my car. She even gave me a discount and put in new transmission mounts on for free. Thank again Mrs Natalie I will never forget your kindness and generosity.

Havent lived in Summerville long and I got lucky with AAMCO being the first shop in the area Ive walked in. Justin&Natalie and their Mechanics have been nothing short of AMAZING! Took my truck in to have brakes and rotors changed. Staff was super professional, service great and the turn around time on the project was quick. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone needing any maintenance performed on their vehicle.

Transmission totally quit going down I 95 in S.C. called one Aamco shop that advertised open till 10pm. Called at 7:30pm, said they would be out to tow me in. Spent the night on the side of 95, they never showed up. This location made arrangements to tow me in with a tow company that gave me a discount. Aamco paid the tow bill up front, and put it on my bill so I wasnt out of cash on the spot. Owner even gave me a lift to a motel. Trans in my truck was only buikt for 4 years so they are not plentyful anywhere. They found a used one, put it in and Im off again. Thank you to Aamco in N. Charlston.

This is the most unprofessional business Ive ever been to. Saying they lack customer service is an understatement. I was told my Jeep would be done in 3 to 5 business days. They had it a month!! No communication AT ALL! Mike is as shady as they get. My car was covered under warranty and not only did he lie to us but to them as well. The absolute worst with something as important and valuable as your vehicle.

The staff at AAMCO are second to none. I dropped off my prius for a new cv axle and within a few hours I was back on the road. Thanks again

DO NOT VISIT: This morning, I had an 8 oclock appointment that was scheduled online. I have to admit, this experience was very disappointing. Not only was the business closed at 8, after calling and speaking to ***e, he assured a technician was on the way but they never showed up after waiting 20 plus minutes, nor did I receive a follow up call! This company is unprofessional, bias, untrustworthy and has no consideration or concerns for potential customers time. I have intentions on forwarding this to Better Business Bureaus website.

Mike at AAMCO said my truck was ready after the after market warrantys vender finally sent the right transmission and told me he drove my truck 5 miles. When I picked the truck up from his shop I drove approximately 8 miles and the drive shaft fell out and locked up the rear end. Now the rear end needs to be rebuilt and Mike told the after warranty people he drove it 3 miles. Mike is claiming that he did the work himself and is not wanting to take responsibility for the bad installation of the simple driveshaft. What if any other have had bad experiences with this guy Mike and his helper Jimmy?Please respond and let a band together!!!

The Service was great and the staff was very helpful, supportive, courteous and professional. Great location close to the highway. It is not close to the interstate access. It is located in a small strip mall surrounded by various types of stores and businesses located in an around the Summerville SC area.

The owner is very rude to the parents and daycare staff next door. He was about to put boots on the Dads cars this morning ( they were only in the daycare for 30 minutes for donuts with Dad) . He has a ton of Parking places with never any customers . I witnessed him go inside the daycare before and yell at the workers because the drop off lane was backed up. If someone can’t understand that is uncontrollable then they have issues. I would not want this type of person to work on any car I own. I have read the reviews and I don’t see how he stays in business. This is NOT a good business owner. If you have children please stay away from this place as he thinks it’s okay to enter a daycare full of children and express his anger. I will notify the police next time I see him go inside the daycare .

Ive been to this AAMCO location many times and have never left disappointed. The staff is always friendly, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I have recommended friends and family and they all feel the same as I do. This is a very trustworthy, reliable place to take your car. AWESOME!!!!

Poor service and professionalism. Went there twice for an oil change and both times the only mechanic working there never reset the sensor stopping the oil change light from activating, tried to sell me drugs, didnt respect the fact that as Im a member of a prestigious club I get $29.95 for a standard oil change, lube, and tire rotation at the same time, told me never come back bc his manager didnt know (or cared) hes a participating location. Being their the only AAMACO in the tricounty area acting like this I recommend people make this the last location for this flaying company

I had a broken transmission in my 2005 BMW X5 and I brought it in to AAMCO. They did a great job. It was good as new! I shopped around and their prices were very reasonable. They were very friendly and did a great job explaining what the problems were. 45000 miles later going strong!! Ill only ever let AAMCO handle my car!

I am an airman and I took my 1991.5 dodge w250 in as my mildly built transmission was toast, and I requested that if they were going to pull the transmission to take pictures of what was in The pan which I never got. They sent my transmission to their diesel trans specialist told me that yeah my trans was junk and proceeded to tell me that it was bone stock and to do a mild build would run $7k. I asked what had failed as well as what components were in the trans as the original builder should me what was being installed and the aamco tech in Lexington after beating around the bush for several minutes finally admitted to not knowing what components were there. I made them send my trans back as it was and the wanted to charge me $850 for the dismantling and removal of the trans. After threatening to lawyer up I only paid $500. Long story short I would stay far and away from this place unless you enjoy pissing money away. I ended up going with Pats transmissions and am not disappointed, he is a very down to earth guy and he was able to tell me what failed and what he was going to do to prevent failure in the future. So 5 stars to Pats transmissions and absolutely no stars for aamco

My mother had some trouble with her car and one day it just kinda died on the road so she had it taken to AAMCO. They rebuilt her transmission...in SIX weeks and told her the work was warrantied for a year. She has had problems with it ever since but each time she has gone back she is told that the transmission is fine. They have given her a list of *other* things that need fixing but have declined to repair the transmission that has a bad pump. We have had the car in to another service rep so we will forfeit the useless warranty and have the repair done by someone reputable. And let me just qualify for everyone that when you feel the gears slip, it isnt due to bad rotors! 😾

SERIOUS TRUTH-POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO ANY BRANCH OF THIS COMPANY!!! I wish I had googled them before I did, because when I was frustrated with their service and finally did, I found they had class action law suits against them in 13 states! Last year I called AAMCO Transmission on Trolley Road in Summerville for a quote to the replacement my transmission - shopping around to find a better figure than $3500. The quote I received was $1200-$1800, but after they opened my transmission I was told it would be $3496! Then I was told it would take 5-7 days to complete-they didnt have it complete for me for 30 days! Then I drove a mile away from their shop and felt transmission slipping again! Brought it back - 2 weeks later I get it back, only to be stranded on the James Island Connector and had to have it towed back to Aamco. It looked like ALL the transmission fluid drained out as we had the flatbed lift it up. THE REGIONAL AND CORPORATE OFFICES DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION EITHER AND THAT FLOWS OVER INTO QUALITY OF THEIR WORK. There was only 1 technician working in this shop (RIDICULOUS) and I didnt get my vehicle back until AFTER the summer. Then when I had my regular service center check it, they found MULTIPLE problems.

Im the manager at a used car dealership in Virginia. I sold a customer a car and on the way back to SC they heard a rumbling noise. They insisted on taking it to AAMCO. I told them not to based on previous experiences with AAMCO. The customer insisted and so we had the vehicle checked out at AMMCO. AAMCO called and told me what was wrong with the vehicle. I questioned the diagnosis because we had just passed the 117 point inspection. We also have vehicles checked and inspected before they are offered for sale. I called the customer and told him that they misdiagnosed the vehicle. The customer insisted that they were right so we had the work done at the tune of $1200.00. When the customer came to pick up the car he noticed that the noise was still there. He took the vehicle back only for the service writer to tell him that the bearings needed to be changed. This is not an honest shop. They will diagnosis the car and do whatever it takes to make you spend more, even if it means telling you something is wrong that is not. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR REPAIRS. THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST.

Dishonest - excuses - could not get the complete service we paid for. On 3/21/15 we paid $99 for A/C Service to find out why our 2008 Honda Civic A/C was not cooling. Receipt states: MUST RE-CHECK for Leaks within 5 days. We dealt with Frankie the entire time. We were to drive the car then come back for the recheck in a week. The next week we were told the machine was broken so the test to see where the leak is couldnt be done. The next week were told We need to buy a new machine but not yet because its not hot so the owner doesnt want to spend $5,000 yet. New machine will cost between $2,000 to $5,000, Subsequent excuses have included: The guy was supposed to come talk to us about a used one, guy was supposed to come drop off one for us to use for a couple weeks, I was on vacay last week, Ill refer you to a guy who wont rip you off, well usually that pound of freon will last you all summer. Today, I was told I dont know anybody to refer you to that wont rip you off. Well, for people who have been in the business for many years, #1, thats WAY to many excuses #2 you dont know anyone who WONT RIP ME OFF? #3, what about MUST RE-CHECK FOR LEAKS WITHIN 5 DAYS...So, we cant complete the service we paid for, dealt with a long time local business who apparently has no local contacts he can trust. Poor customer service, dishonest in that we were told we would be sent somewhere we could trust, then told there was no one, and we didnt get so much as an apology to boot. You be the judge.

Owner is rude to everyone. A bunch of dads parked in the parking lot to have doughnuts for dads at the preschool next door. They would have been there for only 30 mins and he was trying to put boots on all the cars to have them towed. All these dads trying to make their kids happy. Sounds like his dad didnt show up for is doughnuts for dads. I wouldnt do business with this man even if i broke down in front of his shop. I would push my car else where.

Brought in a Cutlass Supreme for transmission work 16 months ago. They had the car for 3 weeks and had to put in 3 different transmissions. Turns out they put a lemon into the car. Transmission started going out and the place conveniently closes due to bad management practices. Place reopens and now to get the transmission fixed again is gonna cost $2500 or to just get the broken car back its gonna cost $900 of which the car is not even worth that much.Company thinks its alright to give a used transmission without our permission that turns out to be a lemon and has the nerve to charge for a 4th transmission.Do not recommend anyone using these guys to get their transmission fixed, you may just get a lemon put in your car so they can keep charging you 2 grand each time.

Really No stars for this horrible dishonest so called service. Cant count on this company! Went all the way to Georgia to pick up my sons car. Talked to Mike on phone and thought I had found an honest person. After negotiating a deal to replace transmission with a used one, he knew my tight time frame to so with son in college. When I dropped the car off he had 1 week and 1 day to job finished, and agreed he could complete it in that time. When I returned the day it was to be done at 11 am, car was in same spot and had not been moved. When I went in and inquired about the car, he told me to settle down that he would have the car done by 3 pm that day. When I had been quoted 9 hours labor to be charged and he saying he could have it done in less than 4 hours by 3:00pm. But was still charging 9 hours labor. I told him I didnt want a rush job at that point he told me why dont you just take the keys and the car and thats exactly what I did!I asked to buy the used transmissions that he had gotten for it and he quoted me $652.18 when originally from first day he showed me the cost being $375.00 what a rip off. My best advice to anyone thinking about going here, DONT DO IT! I took my car to another local transmission shop called Holt Transmission in Summerville same day. Store manager John tested car and I had an honest estimate for repair that was at a lower cost, even. So please do yourself a favor for your protection DONT DO BUSINESS with AAMCO on trolley rd in Summerville, SC!!

I shopped around and their prices were very reasonable. Had my work done here and all is good.

Brought my 2003 Honda minivan to this center under warranty. They advised me that the transmission worked good, just has a leak that needs fixed. My car had a 3 year warranty from another Aamco and should have been a no charge repair. Not only did they charge me almost 250.00 for a warranty repair, they did not fix the leak, and I broke down in Daytona on the way home. Turns out the leak they so called fixed, was not fixed, and now the transmission is out. NEVER go here. They wont refund my money, and now are costing me money for rentals because Mike Allen refused to credit my money back or fix the problem. Terrible business, do not send you cars here EVER!

Car has a surging problem with 3rd gear. Came here, they overhauled trans, and when I got it back, it has the same problem. They said it was a engine problem. Went to 3 diff engine shops, all say the same thing. Its my transmission. So take what you want from this review.
