Excellent public service and communication. Always good about updating updates even when its just to tell you they havent been able to get a part needed from the manufacturer (which lets face it is a problem I just about every industry at the moment) they still contact me to let me know whats going on.
Everything is still in process from my accident, but they were knowledgeable, friendly, and super helpful with all my questions. Will and Alisa were amazing and this will definitely be where I do all my future repairs!
I wish there was a 0 star option. I’ve never seen a place be this slack and not fix a single issue. So my car was in a little accident and ended in a ditch and received some water damage. I went through my insurance company and they suggested John Harris and that I would be insured there. So I got the car towed over there mid-late June and told them of the incident. It took them 2 weeks to even begin working on my car and the only reason they even started was because I was moving soon. They then got it all done within a week so it took roughly a month for them to fix my car. However to my knowledge none of the problems I had got fixed. When I drove my car today the check engine light came on and was blinking, something I informed them but they didn’t see a problem and ensured me it was fine. On top of that my gear stick now gets stuck at random times which wasn’t a problem before, and a whole other mess of problems didn’t even get bothered to fix. When I later called asking about it they just stated that they didn’t see how any of it related to my incident so they did not feel the need to fix it. So after an entire month without my car all I got was a new front bumper and another appointment with a new body shop hoping they can fix my car where John Harris has failed.
Total runaround from these people! I dropped my car off over a week ago and have not heard from them at all! Every time I call I get sent to voicemail. The day I dropped my car off and did the walk around with them I was told They would be in touch in a couple of days. Not one person from there has reached out to me at all. I am having to pay for my cars rental insurance by the day and it is very frustrating to not even have an idea when I will get my car back. I will definitely let Nationwide know they should rethink having this body shop as one of their “On Your Side” dealers because they are definitely Not on my side!
On September 21, 2021 my 2020 Buick Encore was towed to Gerber Collision on 103 Old Trolley, Road, Summerville, SC. I have been waiting for more than 2 weeks for an estimate. On October 1, 2021 after having made several attempts to contact the business, I went to their location where an older Caucasian female informed me my vehicle was awaiting a final determination from State Farm Insurance. She also indicated that It did not look good for me and that once they received the final determination I would be notified. She also said: I should not turn in my rental car before I received an ok from State Farm Claim because State Farm was responsible to ensure I remained in the rental car until final determination on my vehicle had been made. Knowing full well this was NOT TRUE, Before leaving the parking lot, I contacted State Farm Claim only to be told that Gerber Collision had completed the estimate on SEPTEMBER 25, 2021 and DID NOT FOLLOW UP ON THE ESTIMATE WITH STATE FARM CLAIMS. While on hold The State Farm Claim Agent contacted Gerber Collision only to be told by the same older Caucasian Woman that another individual was responsible for completing the documentation upload and that the transaction would be completed on the evening of Friday October 1, 2021. On Saturday, October 2, 2021 after relinquishing my rental car, I contacted State Farm Claim to determine the status of the situation, only to be told yet AGAIN that the ESTIMATE HAD NOT BEEN UPLOADED INTO THE STATE FARM SYSTEM. NOW the 2nd State Farm Claim Agent on the phone contacted GERBER to be told the document would be taken care of At their earliest convenience. I informed the State Farm Claim Agent that I was AT THE FACILITY IN THE PARKING LOT, at which time she reiterated that she herself did not receive an appropriate response to her inquiry and ONCE AGAIN A NEGATIVE REVIEW would be annotated in their records. WHILE STATE FARM CLAIM IS IN NO WAY AT FAULT, I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT AN ESTABLISHMENT WOULD CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH A NATIONWIDE AGENCY IN SUCH A CALLUS AND NONCHALANT MANNER SO AS TO LEAVE A CLIENT WITHOUT A VEHICLE DUE THEIR LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. TO ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO EVER HAS THE OPTION TO SELECT GERBER COLLISION ON 103 OLD TROLLEY ROAD, SUMMERVILLE, SC 29485 AS THEIR PREFERRED REPAIR DEALER....DO NOT EVER LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE AT THIS LOCATON. Bobby is extremely polite and helpful. The shop is nothing like the hot/cramped waiting rooms that my husband and I were used to when getting repairs done elsewhere. Bobby even took the time to do a walk around the car and discuss our needed repairs in depth. Very refreshing experience so far.
The staff was friendly and courteous, but the work was below my expectations and they havent followed up.My Ford Fusion was brought in for bumper replacement after a rear end collision. They replaced the bumper and lower trim and straightened out the trunk. The lines and gaps were very good after the repair.Two screws were not completely installed on the underside of the vehicle - probably not something most people would check. I also found a dent in the rear panel near the wheel well and an associated chip in the new bumper paint. The dent was about the size of a pencil eraser - so very small. You pretty much only notice it due to the way the light bends around it. It does seem they caused it.I took the vehicle back and they ran down the two screws (of course), and took photos of the damage telling me they would get back to me. They havent in a week now.The color match on the bumper is pretty poor. Its the right factory color, of course, but they didnt make an effort to feather the color into the rest of the vehicle so the lot variation in the paint is obvious. You can see the difference in color in full sunlight between the bumper and body in the attached photo.Its a car with 70k miles on it and Ill probably drive it to over 100k, so it doesnt really matter. But if you have a choice Id go for a shop with a better standard of quality.
Everyone was nice and professional. I dropped it off on a Wednesday and expected to get it back the following Wednesday but ended up getting it on a Monday which was even better! When I got my car it looked brand new! They even vacuumed the inside for me! I walked around my car and noticed they fixed the dimple on the side and I didn’t even asked for it to be fixed. I really appreciated this place for everything they’ve done. Thank you so much!
I got into an accident and my insurance company suggested John Harris for the repairs. I did not expect to walk out of there with my car looking better than before the accident!! They even cleaned the inside and washed her for me. Becky was such a sweetheart and Will was very kind and helpful. Honestly, the entire staff was pleasant and professional.
My car got dropped off a couple weeks ago, and I heard absolutely nothing about anything. Every time I call I have to about 5 times before someone finally picks up the phone. They said they had about 20 cars in front of me. I had to get my car moved from this shop through nationwide because the days were running out on my rental. I live in Florida and this crash happened here in SC so I have to drive 6 and a half hours to come pick it up if its fixable, but I dont even know that because it hasnt even been looked at yet. August 4th was the drop off. It is now August 17th and nothing. I wouldnt recommend this shop if youre in a hurry.
Fantastic work and very friendly staff. Made my whole experience great. Couldnt have asked for better work. I was side swiped and my rear door and quarter panel were damaged. After picking it up, it looks like there was no damage there and the paint job was immaculate. 10/10 would tell anyone who needed body work, tongetbut done here.
They have had her car since 4/8/21 for an accident repair. They stopped communicating with my daughter about when her car would be done after telling her it would be done on a Thursday 4/22/21(nope didnt happen)... Then finally she got a call saying it would be done on Saturday(4/24/21).. She waited for a call that never came. So she went up there on Saturday and they hadnt even sent the car to paint or put the car back together. So they tell her it would be ready Monday 4/26/21, you guessed it, didnt happen. So she gets a call on Tuesday saying oh its done 10 minutes before they close and you can pick it up after noon Wednesday. They started out great with letting her know everything going on and then just nothing. They really need to work on communication after they tell some one their vehicle will be ready on a certain date and its doesnt happen.
This place Is probably the best auto repair shop I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They’re work is legit and the fact that they provide a lifetime warranty on the repairs done is theCherry on top! Thank you for making my new car look new Again ‘nnn

I could not handle the price they estimate for my car. They are good people and good workers but i have to take my business elsewhere.
I first scheduled an appointment for an estimate, of which when I arrived they had no record of. (red flag #1) Not a huge deal as I can understand human error with scheduling. One of the adjusters was kind enough to handle the situation properly and take a look at my vehicle, which had two large scratches and two large dents on the tailgate.Scheduled a time to bring my vehicle in for work, which would take an estimated 3 days. (two weeks from initial appointment for estimate)Scheduled to drop off my truck on a Wednesday early morning and pick up late Friday. Informed that text message updates would occur, of which I received two within minutes of drop off, but zero after. (red flag #2)Called early afternoon of Friday to inquire about an update and ensure my truck would be ready as originally scheduled. Also, crucial to my schedule as a small business owner, and to schedule transportation with my wife and her work schedule, getting our young son to his nanny on time, and getting to my shop to run my small business efficiently. Was informed that they had not even started work on my vehicle. (red flag #3)I then asked why I wasn’t communicated with concerning the back log of work, and the gentleman helping me passed the buck to someone else in the office. (red flag #4) I picked up my truck without any service being completed.There is nothing more valuable than someone’s time. I would have been completely understanding of having a back logged schedule if I would have been notified about this ahead of time. Things happen, and especially in this time of most all supply chains being behind in almost every industry due to the pandemic, it would have been understandable.What isn’t understandable or acceptable is not to be communicated with efficiently and effectively.I would not recommend this business to anyone, and would recommend steering clear of a business who does not respect your time enough to honestly communicate.
I have now called this shop 17 times between today and yesterday and they have not answered once. I’m trying to get an update on the repairs being done to my vehicle and can’t get a response, Alicia told me to not pay attention to the automated messages so when I got a message saying it was on track to be completed I didn’t pay it any attention then after calling the shop numerous times with no answer and I decided to go up there the man at the desk simply looked at the same automated message and said my car would be done by Monday. I’ve been calling again today for an update and nothing, I even texted the automated system hoping for a response and still nothing. Very unprofessional would NOT recommend at all!!

People are nice enough and service was fine but if you are coming here because of an accident go anywhere else. Systems are slow and they do not work well with insurance companies. If you do not get an employee then do not bother with leaving messages as they will not responded to. What should have been a fairly simple process has been complicated by incompetent employees and bad customer service.
Professional and knowledgeable staff at John Harris. The whole repair process was easy from start to finish. The repairs were done before very quickly as well.
John Harris was not a warm and welcoming facility. I did not care for the Text only form of communication regarding my vehicle. Because of this process I had to pay an additional $123 for a rental. The office was not apologetic nor did they show any care for this unfortunate experience.
They did not communicate took two months on a front bumper replacement and paint kept saying they were getting front bumper that were damaged thin after finally getting my car they never hooked up my lights I would never take my car here
I was in a car crash and my insurance, GEICO, paired me up with John Harris Body Shop. The service they provided me was nothing short of top notch. The repair team did an incredible job in repairing my car. The paint job was a perfect match and they fixed my fractured headlight frame. My car looks like it was never in a collision. They also washed my car and cleaned the interior. A+ job across the board.
I was very satisfied with the quality of work and the time frame to complete the work. Pro Tip: Do not assume the phone number left to contact a customer is a cell phone. You tried twice to text a landline, the second time after your rep left a note on my invoice saying so. Because you didnt read or pay attention to that instruction, you delayed my picking up my vehicle. And it if I hadnt called back a second time to follow up on my first call, it would have been delayed to the next day.
Very professional, good luck finding a better body shop. The staff kept their word and kept me updated every step of the way and also finished the repairs ahead of schedule.

I had my repairs done here following a hit and run, it has been a month now and in order for me to get an update on my vehicle I have to go to the office and ask about the status because no one ever answers the phone or returns my phone calls. I just get something saying we are trying to finish your car in the next day or 2 and it keeps changing. When I do go to the office and inquire I get a oh hold on a minute and 10 minutes they come out and say they are bringing your vehicle in now or Geico hasnt approved anything yet. I was also told they had taken over my rental because my car sat in the back for 3 weeks and when enterprise called them they said they never stated that.
Excellent service; received text updates daily along with phone calls. Projected completion date was on target. Car looked like new after damage repaired. Very professional staff; highly recommend John Harris Body Shop

This facility was picked by my insurance company, in close proximity to my home. Great value and work completed on time. However, the approach of the company to communicate with the customer which is relayed completely via text. That status was not relayed until 48 hours after my vehicle was dropped off. Also, had difficulty getting anyone to answer the phone for status (left VMs). Lastly, there was no process in place to walk the customer through the process.
My car was dropped off on Dec 1st following a hit and run, and was promised back in SIX days. It has now been TEN days and just got a text saying it will be another THREE days. The car was still driveable when we dropped it off, so instead of holding my car hostage, they should have let us keep it until all the parts were in. There is a reason we have more than one car, and this has become very inconvenient. Had they been honest we could have rented a car for a week instead of trying to live two lives with one car! Their approach so far makes me worried about whether the work will be good or not, assuming I ever get my car back!
I had my car stolen, and they tore up some things on my vehicle. They took the car in, put new paint on it, replaced a few things, and it came out looking really good... The only reason I didnt give it a 5 star review is because it was supposed to be detailed before I got it back, and it wasnt at all.. it would have went a long way with me considering i had some other people in my car, when I picked it up I still felt the remnance of them in it..Also.... I didnt notice when I wrote my review, a scratch on my quarter panel/wield that was supposed to be buffed out, wasnt. Not sure if it was an oversight or intentional, figured it was worth pointing out

Brought vehicle in and the person evaluated my damage and put marks where damage was and gave me a 2 week completion date so I leased a vehicle and the updates they send kept saying your vehicle is on schedule after a week they sent text saying my vehicle is ready to come home well I had already leased the vehicle for the 2nd week. Then I picked up my vehicle and noticed all these chips on hood of car which they stated was due to road rocks looks horrible. I wished they would of told me about them before they painted the damage area and gave me the option to have the hood painted.
I checked on time above because FINISHED EARLY isnt an option! Very professional and my truck looks amazing, they went above and beyond with the attention to detail and blending adjacent areas to where the damage was, very satisfied!! This was an insurance claim repair but I plan to take my sons car there for an estimate for some minor body work.
Took 13 days to repair $3000 fender bender on a 2009 Rav4. Must take a year to repair real damage to a vehicle. A return visit required as no one checked repair work, and rear bumper was not attached correctly. Sense of urgency and quality control concepts unknown of at this location.

Business had been notified by our insurance before we arrived and we were met promptly and couteously upon arrival. All paperwork was ready and vehicle was immediately moved into shop for repairs to begin. Received daily texts to advise of progress, and status. Vehicle was actually delivered 3 days ahead of schedule and repairs were EXCELLENT.

Literally the best of a bad situation came from working with them! They texted me every morning with updates letting me know that the car was being worked on. All repairs were made and the car and lint literally looks like nothing ever happened. Absolutely incredible service all around and I could not be happier with this experience.

Kyle was amazing as always but this time service was absolutely horrible my fender wall fell i took it back they did something. Left again halfway to my destination it fell again i still havent heard back from anyone. Its a full week later.

After my parked car was hit, the at fault insurance listed John Harris as an approved body shop. They had my car done in 2 days and even detailed it with no charge on the invoice for detailing! So pleased with how great the car looks and how well things were communicated. I cant even tell it was ever hit. Will return for any future body shop needs!

Very good experience with this company. Fairly new to area. Hit from behind at traffic light a couple days before Christmas. Surprised at how much damage came to, over 6300. (Im old) Very happy with repair work that was done. Gaps were even and paint matched rest of car. Geico had rental car ready shortly after we arrived. Car was ready on scheduleHope I dont need them again but will definitely use if needed.

So the first day we dropped the car off the lady at the front desk seemed to have no respect towards me and only wanted to speak with my husband. There was a man there that walked outside with my husband and I and looked the car over and its damages that was really nice and respectful towards us both. After looking over the car he said someone would be in touch the next day with updates and a time frame about when the car would be ready. We did recieve daily updates and we were told that the car would be ready for pick up on Wednesday (which made it a week). We were very excited about this news and were amazed about how well they communicated and worked to get us back into our vehicle. Well, it went downhill from there. My husband went to pick the car up Wednesday which they said would still be ready the day before. On Wednesday we couldnt get the car because the a.c. condenser was leaking Freon (mind you all damages from the deer were cosmetic). So he left after the employee said it would be Thursday instead. My husband goes back up there thursday, there was still a dent in the door with a large scratch. No water was in the reservoir for the windshield wipers ( which had been busted in the accident) and the latch rod that holds the hood up was missing a clip at the end of it (that was there when we dropped the car off). After discussing all of these concerns with the employee, my husband got it in writing that this would be fixed and paid the deductible. The body shopped asked him to bring the car back on a Saturday to finish getting these items attended to because they had a busy week with other clients (mind you my car was there before these other clients so why should they be more important? ). After this was handled my husband was on the way home and the car ran hot before making it 5 miles from the body shop. He called the body shop and they said they would send a tow truck. He waited for an hour on the tow truck and it still never arrived. After that length of time, the car had cooled and he made it back to the body shop before it ran hot again (mind you all damages were cosmetic, I drove the car two weeks after the accident to work before dropping the car off at the body shop). The body shop of course apologized and said they would fix it. Today, he goes to pick the car up after he called and confirmed it would be ready because the daily updates of course have stopped by now, he waits for an hour or so for the car to finish up having details done. When he goes to leave the check engine light is on. They reset the check engine light and said that sometimes when the car is drying (or baking) after being painted it can mess with the oxygen sensor which makes the light come on.The car is now being driven home (a week later than the body shop originally said it would be...so a total of 2 weeks) where hopefully we wont have any more problems. The shop did say everything they done was under warranty and they would fix any other problems if we had more.

Front desk was beyond rude, they argued with me about what was and wasnt working. The door still dosent close correctly. Not worth the drive and effort to take it back to have it fixed.
First off, my Toyota was disabled in the middle of Berlin G Myers Expressway on a Saturday. The customer service and staff coordinated with USAA and within several minutes, we were at the shop within 15 minutes. My advisor called me frequently with updates on my Toyota. My car looked good as new, even new tires! The rental car service is very accommodating as well. This shop does quality work.
They did an excellent job with the repair, the staff is very friendly, and the facility is clean. Car was returned in top shape. Only giving 4 stars because it took 1 1/2 weeks to repair a fender bender. That’s just a little bit too long as far as I’m concerned. Other than that, no complaints.
John Harris Body shop seemed they were completely unwilling to help after my car was damaged in an accident. My insurance company (USAA) sent me a check for damages and left it to me to find a body shop for repairs. I called John Harris since they are fairly new in the area and close to home. The first thing I was told, We are booked and cant help for another 2 months. This wasnt a problem since the car was drivable. I was told to bring the car by for someone to look at and when my husband did they acted like they didnt know how to help us nor had it seemed that they had dealt with an insurance company before. It may be the customer service representative we communicated with, but each time we contacted them we felt as if our business wasnt wanted and they didnt know how to help us.We went to a locally owned body shop in the area. Customer service was FANTASTIC and the car was repaired a month later.
My second time having work done on my car with this company and they went above and beyond to help me, the only complaint the second time was the cleaniness of my car when I picked it up was 100% better the first time, not sure if its due to covid or not.
This shop KNOWS how to do customer service right! I recieved daily updates on the status of my repairs and they even had my car done a day early! The staff is friendly and helpful. I was able to pick up my rental and dr OP p it back off there. I highly recommend the whole team.

I cannot speak to the work they do. After an accident I wanted an estimate. I already knew that my insurance would not be covering it and was up front about that. I figured I needed to know, even just roughly, what it would cost to fix before making a decision. I really felt like I was given the runaround there.After the fact I realized they just didnt usually deal with situations like mine where the owner was paying (and unafraid of a $4000 bill) and didnt have a process for dealing with a potential customer like myself. Thats fine! I get that. They may have even been burnt by people asking for work to be done that they couldnt afford, but I feel that had they been more upfront about it wed both have been happier.As it stands I decided to junk the car, partly because they wouldnt tell me what it would cost to repair it.

The first time they had my vehicle for 2 weeks plus, 17 days. It was fixed correctly, door wont close correctly, front bumper mot on right and looks worse than before the accident. Took it back and they had it another week and its still not correct. I will never take a vehicle there again for anything.
$100 less than anywhere else to replace my passenger side mirror. Took them 30 mins. Great customer service.

Very rude place. Came in to ask about them painting the top of my suv that was fading, and the old lady receptionist never looked up from her computer screen to greet me. She had an Un-caring attitude as she spoke and said “we don’t paint here, we just do body work!” Ok, miss sunshine! I’ll take my business elsewhere, I said to myself. If I ever have a wreck I won’t be coming here. As I walked out, she still never looked up at me not once!

Update: Eric one of the managers made sure the situation was rectified and even came on his day off to make sure I got my car. He went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and gave advice about a new car problem we discovered. I’m very satisfied and happy with everything.Nick LACKS customer service skills. He’s rude and does not know what he’s talking about. I’ve had the run around with this shop for my car and Geico. The worst repair experience ever! Then when I finally get the situation cleared I’m told I can’t get my car because they re did their blacktop. Wow really! DO NOT GO TO tHIS PLACE THEY ARE RUDE AND LIARS.!!
Very Satisfied - I have a Hyundai that is silver looking but actually gray according to the color code. Tough color to match. I had a horrible experience at another shop in Summerville. John Harris matched my color and had me finished ahead of schedule. Give them a try. As a side note, I used Geicos repair service, same as the other place. At the other place Geico had to step in and tell the manager to repaint the car. Here there was no issue since the color looked good from the fender to the plastic bumper.Update - 9/21/2019 - Second trip to John Harris, the bumper cover was not painted correctly. After a little conversation back and forth the manager agreed to repaint. One side was not close. I ended up being billed by Enterprise for the extra days with the car. I am trying to have this removed now. JH has agreed to cover the bill. I am not happy with Geico on this either. G the claims adjuster did not do what I believe to be his job. I never saw him. After second painting the bumper looks good.

Terrible service. Truck was stored there until case was settled and it was obviously vandalized while in their video surveilled, 10ft electric fenced in lot. My in-dash was was ripped out through the top of dash, doors and windows left open so my leather was covered in mildew. Confronted manager and he stated these had to be false allegations. Called me a liar as well. He walked out and looked at truck and dash and said yea, it appears someone did snatch it out and the carpet is wet somehow. Still tried to deny it. Went and reviewed pictures like I suggested due to the fact some was taken from the rear because thats where the damage was. He looked for a few minutes and said he couldnt see well enough to determine. I requested he let me take a glance and he flat out refused. Didnt get quite as defensive as the first time but had a hateful demeanor. Would never use them again or refer them to anybody! Just dont seem right for me to pay a place to store something and it get done like that. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!
My spare tire is gone and I just put it under the truck from using it a month ago be for I put my truck in the shop
Terrible customer service. I took my car to the shop in summerville and they failed to give me any updates about my car. My insurance I assume decided not to pay for my repairs and them neither Geico called me to tell me my car was just sitting there well over a week. I let them know to put my car back togther thinking i would get it the same way i took it in... well no I did they broke my grill and threw it away. The only thing that was damge on my car was the driver side bumber the grill was in good condition.They need to work on there customer service and stop throwing blame at everyone else. DONT GO TO JOHN HARRIS!!!
