First time trying this hidden gem and it was DELICIOUS perfection! They had an incredible variety with flavors to please everyone in the party we ordered cupcakes for. I loved that we could choose the dozen and they all didn’t have to be the same kind. Each one was moist and flavorful and pretty to display on our dessert table. They were a hit!Have to add that we especially love the efforts this business is making to be inclusive of all walks of life in our community. The sign in the window immediately got our attention and respect. Springfield desperately needs more of these kinds of people and businesses. Bravo!No doubt we will be back!

I couldn’t believe how good the cupcakes were. My boyfriend and I shared a couple of them (pumpkin and peanut butter chocolate) and we ate them in silence, which rarely happens, because they were so good. Moist and the icing is just sweet and light enough to not overpower the cake. We will be taking all our visitors here. Best kept secret, IMO.

The cupcakes here are fantastic! I am used to cupcakes which are dry and mask the bland cake part with overly sweet icing. When I make cupcakes, they turn out almost wet. These were the perfect texture and the right sweetness. The icing was sweet but wasnt overpowering and the cake was just moist enough that by the time I finished it I wasnt parched.The flavor is another thing. I got the mocha cupcake and was a little worries that there would be an overbearing flavor. I would have got one of the red velvet ones but that worry made me go with the safer option. The mocha cupcake was the right amount of mocha it didnt taste like is was filled with artificial flavors, it just tasted a bit like mocha.The only reason you shouldnt go here is if youre on a diet as I promise, you will stop dieting the moment you taste one of their cupcakes.

Their gluten free cupcakes are absolute PERFECTION! I could have sworn I was eating a standard cupcake.Flavor was exquisite with all 4 cupcakes I personally sampled! The sponge was not overly sweet and the frostings were light and airy. Cupcake toppers were high quality as well!*Picture included is from our second dozen which did not contain gluten free flavors. This bakery takes the time to put individual gluten free cupcakes in separate containers!

Absolutely AMAZING. I have been coming here for years. Today, I had a hinky situation with Door Dash and my order was canceled by DD. Urban Cup called me, when they didn’t need to, and offered to let me come pick up the order when I was already refunded. When my fiancé went to pick the order up they sent him home with 2 additional cupcakes with my order. THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Went above and beyond when NOTHING was required on their end.

Came from Florida and had a sweet tooth. These cupcakes are absolutely delicious !! They are so soft and full of flavor they melt in your mouth and the icing is just icing on the cake literally lol 10/10 I had the raspberry, red velvet and the strawberry cheesecake. I ordered them on doordash and felt like I went and picked them up myself no mistakes made on the order and great customer service !

It is SO great to have a cupcakery in Springfield! We have never been disappointed in our orders and we much appreciate the gluten free cupcakes so our GF family member can enjoy the fun also. I also ordered a dairy free cupcake for a visiting daughter who has dairy intolerance. The cupcakes are not too sweet but still pretty and tasty. Online ordering is convenient. I so appreciated the curbside service during the stay-at-home order and also before the masking ordinance went into effect as we have health conditions which make it riskier to go inside and was very appreciative that the order was brought out to me. I also had an order fulfilled for a flavor that was not featured that particular week - just needed a day notice for it. (it was the only flavor requested by the birthday guest!). Staff has answered so many questions for me and have always been friendly. I missed this business when it left downtown and was delighted to see it reestablished in its current location (convenient for all sides of town). I hope its here for many years!

Yum, best cupcakes! Had the Chocoholic and wow, it was heaven, so moist and delicious! Couldn’t stop there had to eat an Italian cupcake as well, and oh my goodness is all I can say!

Okay.... Wow. Wow is literally all I could say while I took the first bite. My boyfriend and I bought a pack of 4 for $12 which I feel is more than reasonable considering they’re big cupcakes. The first one we tried was the Boston Cream Pie. The chocolate frosting was perfect; not too sweet, not too thick, just perfect. The custard went well with everything, light and perfect amount of sweet. The second one we tried was Strawberry Cheesecake and I... love it. Sensational. The cupcake itself was an amazing texture and the frosting was a perfect duo. I will be back for it again. We also got the Red Velvet and the seasonal Strawberry Lemonade (will try tomorrow). Most perfect cupcakes I have ever had. Urban cup- do you boo because you guys are awesome!

Always amazing and never disappoints!! I love ALL of their flavors. Sponge is soft and never dense with any of their cupcakes. Frosting is light and not cloyingly sweet.

Everything about this business is wonderful - the cupcakes, the service, and the owners! I have taken their cupcakes to many events and the reaction is always the same. Everyone loves them!! They are huge and delicious, and there are such a great variety of flavors that it’s hard to choose. Springfield definitely needs this business. Yes, they are not inexpensive, but I have purchased cupcakes at other bakeries that were at a comparable price, and they were much smaller and not near the quality. Two thumbs up for The Urban Cup!!!

Cupcakes are incredible and rival any cupcake shop in any big city, but their customer service is abysmal. Due to medical reasons I am not able to wear a mask, so I waited until I was the only customer in the shop before going in to place my order. Unfortunately, I was instantly greeted very rudely and was told that I had to wear a mask to be served. She acted like I had the plague and basically sent me outside saying “I guess I can come outside and take your order“ without making any gesture to follow me in that direction… Sadly I won’t be back. I actually supported this local business during the very beginning of the coronavirus shut downs, frequently buying large orders and tipping $50, $20 to spread joy. Unfortunately that was not reciprocated when I was discriminated against yesterday.

The BEST cupcakes you can get in Springfield! The Red Velvet will forever remain my favorite, but the Carrot Cake, Lemon, and Italian Cream come in at a close second. I have never been disappointed and if you get more than one they last for a few days in the refrigerator and freeze really well!

AMAAAAAZING CUPCAKES! We had a company Xmas party and they ordered a few dozen and every single one of them looked delicious and the one I ate (peanut butter frosting with chocolate cupcake) was so BIG and decadent . I took 3 tries to eat it and finally finished after 2 hrs ha ha. Get these for your employees!!!

If I could give 10 STARS, I would. Stellar cupcakes! So delicious, seriously. Probably THE BEST we have ever had. Try them - you will be so happy you did. Yummy goodness! Oh - and the associates who work there are (as somebody else mentioned) really great - quick service, very polite. Overall, a really enjoyable experience. We stopped by, on a whim, after eating dinner at a nearby restaurant; the food there left us a bit underwhelmed, so we felt a treat was in our near future - to end our epicurean experience on a high note, we hoped. And, so we did! Now, after trying these delicious mini cakes, at The Urban Cup, we.will.be.back. For sure.

Best cake I’ve ever had

I was very pleased to see this new business down the street. After several visits my fav is the carrot cake cup but I love to try the new ones, too. I look forward to spending more time in the shop when they get coffee!!

They donate their items to the community. They are spectacular for that. We will continue to give them our business- they have created a mission of helping and beautiful service.

They make the absolute best cupcakes!

This place is pretty good. I was a professional baker and I have high standards, it didnt quite meet all of them, but its good. Moist cake, not overly sweet icing, each cupcake has a filling, pretty good selections. Some of the flavors taste a little fake, real fruit and fruit oils would be a better taste, and some of the flavors had a slight from a box tatse, but stick with ones like Lemon, PB, Italian, carrot. We found these to be some of our favorites. Dont let the location fool you. Its in an industrial area, but the inside is cute and clean. Man at counter was clean and very nice.

The cupcakes are great, but their selection is ridiculously limited. You might think they could be taking a quality over quantity approach here, but half the time I come theyre out of the one I want.I would definitely rate five stars if I could be sure they wont be out of the cupcake I have my mind.

I was only able to stop in to get a quick to go cupcake, but this place was way better than I had thought it would be. It was very clean and the cashier was very polite. There was a large variety of different types to choose from, I had settled for a confetti cupcake. I would go as far as saying it was the best cupcake I had ever had, and the prices were also fair. Would definitely recommend to anybody passing by.

Didn’t know about this place until a couple of days ago when my dentist’s office gave me a gift card for my birthday. My husband and I were quite impressed. When it says Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting, that’s what you get. My husband had the Boston Cream Pie cupcake, and it was just like a piece of Boston cream pie. Some of the cupcake shops just have white cake with flavored frosting. These are the real thing! I will definitely go there again. (Soon!)

Everything about this place is wonderful! The girls are always friendly, their cupcakes are wonderful, are I love to support local! The only thing that would make it better would be a Mercy employee discount :)

I just wrote a negative review on a place so I love to give a 5 Star Review on a place that deserves it! That place is The urban cup. For a couple months I was the number one customer and I would have to say I went there every day... it’s a small family owned business and they’re doing great and they should keep up the hard work!

Its good. Great? No. Nice place for a late night snack or to take a date. Some of the flavors can run a little dry, but for the most part everything is moist. I do enjoy their seasonal offerings which breaks the normal pattern.

Great place to hang out with friends! Great & imaginative selection. They do have a few gluten-free cupcakes that are scrumptious! They are just as moist as the regular cupcakes and just as divine.

The best cupcakes Ive had. Always moist. They are big enough for two snacks or to share. Carrot Top, The Chocoholic and Salted Caramel Pretzel are my favorites. The people are friendly and the shop is cute.

Their cupcakes are very good and my wife loves this place.I dont buy in to the whole cupcake fad, especially at 4 dollars a cupcake. To me this is a 4 dollar bouquet of flowers that you can eat, and I suggest you use them the same way.

Many options to choose from. We took several of the cupcakes to a family gathering and they were a huge hit! Now I wish I would have taken a picture before they disappeared.

Strawberries and Cream is to die for!! I ran by the Cup on my lunch break because Ive been trying out different cupcake places in Springfield. I picked up a red velvet and a strawberries and cream. I was really excited to try the red velvet because thats one of my fave kinds of cake. I was disappointed. I didnt like it much at all. The frosting was so runny you would have thought it was 100 degrees out and melting. There wasnt much flavor. Just not a fan. Next, I tried the strawberries and cream. OMG! I had a foodgasm!! It is the absolute best strawberry cupcake Ive ever had and would probably go back just for that! The cake was made with fresh strawberries (no box mix here) and was so moist. I will definitely be going back to try some other flavors :)
