Best GameStop experience I’ve had since going to the one in my hometown.
Id have to say one of my favorite Gamestop locations. This is because its clean, the employees are friendly & definitely knowledgeable. I have negative comments about other GameStops Ive been to in the area. Nothing bad to say about this location. Highly recommend.
I made four attempts to speak with staff at Gamestop in Shakopee, Minnesota today as I tried to locate a game for my son’s birthday. The first three attempts were in the middle of the afternoon between 2 and 3 PM and the phone rang three or four times and then hung up on me every time. There was no opportunity to leave a voicemail, and there was no recording identifying the store. The fourth time I called today was at 6:04 pm and the female staff who I spoke with answered my first question, and then as I began to ask my second question, she interrupted me and told me to just come to the store and then hung up on me!! The questions I had been asking were short, easy questions, and we were on the phone for less than a minute when she hung up on me; it wasn’t like I was taking away too much time from other customers. If I was the manager of this location I would seriously look at how much business is being turned away by the lack of attention to customers calling in over the phone. You certainly lost my business today.
The good:The store was clean, smelt good, and appeared well organized.The bad:The associate was extremely rude to me as soon as she found out that I was not a subscriber to their pro-gamer membership program. Not only did she charge me for a warranty on the game (after I already said I did not want it, but I did not notice the charge till I got home), but she outright said that she would not sell me any games in the future unless I signed up for Gamestops program. I understand that I was purchasing a game on release day, but she said that she had two copies outside of those already reserved for preorder. She openly stated that she would prefer to sell only to the customers with memberships. Furthermore, when I got home and looked at my receipt there was someone elses name on it! She attributed my purchase to someones membership, thus giving them points for the money I spent. Obviously, I do not care about the points for myself, but if I were to go in to get a refund or whatever, I could see my request being denied because the receipt has someone elses information on it. What kind of business are you running here? Just wrong. Bad service and even worse business practice.
Great customer service from the young lady. The products were nicely displayed with no messes. The store was presentable. No complaints from me.

This store is a testament to why GameStop will continue to be a viable company for years to come. The level of service that they provide is excellent. There store is always clean. They always greet you, and say goodbye to you. My wife, son, and I are in 1-3 times a month, and they are always on the game. (no pun intended) I have a very similar experience when frequenting other stores int he Twin Cities, but can honestly say i walk into this GameStop just to window shop frequently, and the staff that work here make all of the difference. Great job to you all!
Joel and Sean were great! They spent a lot of time helping me and answering my questions. They were super helpful and friendly. I was there when it wasnt very busy, so Im sure that helped. But regardless, they were very patient and answered all of my questions, and they even knew it answer questions that I didnt know to ask.
Don’t ever come here if u want to trade in ur games. Sell it on eBay. Very disappointed. Gave them madden 20 and got 2$ and it’s selling for 40$. And nhl 19 is selling for 20$ and they gave me 1$. I’m not impressed and the worker wasn’t wearing her mask appropriate.

This is my sons favorite place to shop for video games! I like it because he buys ths used ones. We went this week and he came home with about 15 gamsa for under $200 that is a steal and the majority were XBox One games.

Went in for a wireless headset for my Nintendo Switch but tge guys said none might be compatible? Got home tried the ps4 headset and it worked just fine. Left only with Zelda game for my 3ds oh well rarely shop here anyway. Good game selection though but will probably just go to High Score because its closer 😂
Admited selling to scalpers, routinely is out of stock of in demand items, cannot order online or put item on hold, out of preorders. Not worth stopping by

Upon entering the store we were greeted with a not so friendly “Just so you know we close in 5 minutes” by who I assume was the manager. Place smelled like a mix of Body odor, damp moldy towels and feet. By your games online.
Service was great and I loved that it was clean.
The workers are really chill, they let me and my friends argue about what games to get it without pushing us out the store. Better then the other place across Shakopee.

This game stop is by far the worst place to go for any products. There rude and refuse to return games that are within the return policey date. They also run a scam where they take returned controllers and resell them to unknowing customers I unfortunately was part of this scam and they sold me 6 returned defective controllers within one month and would not sell me a new one untill I had asked a employee to grab one from the back row behind the fake new/used controllers he refused at first but after the other employee chimed in and told him to just grab the one in the back he moved one aside and grabbed the one behind it. Still not what i asked but close enough... They also swaped out controllers and gave me back the same receipt i used to purchase the one previously voiding the warranty and giving me less time to return the defective device they knowingly sold me. I also bought a game a few days ago (3days ago) and went to return it last night. When the employee recognized that i was the one who returned the controllers he promptly acussed me of returning more controllers to a different store (not true) and refused my return. Still within the 7 day return policy. He was also veary rude and seemed to hate his job. My friend who was with me also was trying to purchase a game from this store. we had to leave the store and go to Wal-Mart because of how rude the employee was to us. Im veary disappointed to have to write this about GameStop. I have been a veary loyal customer since the start of GameStop/funcoland. In the past every gamestop has been veary helpfull and respectful. I only seem to have problems with this specific location (Shakopee MN). Not once not twice but 7 times i had to go back to return products that were knowingly sold as defective. not every time but over half the time the employees are veary rude and uncourteous to there customers. Not a way to run a business.. I will be speaking with the store owner veary soon and already filed a complaint. Hopfully the issue can be resolved so other costomers dont get treated like animals. And duped into buying previously returned products unknowingly also without generating a new receipt.

We get it, theres pre-orders available. And theres also pre-owned games. I feel ultimately sorry for the employees of this corporation, theyre harassed by their superiors to push specific lines of product and if they dont meet numbers, i.e. metrics and goals set up by the managers, they get their hours reduced or fired. Theres a reason no one really shops there anymore.

2nd time coming here, first time they didn’t have a pre-ordered game I transferred out of state, and they were extremely unhelpful and basically just shrugged it off saying it was my problem, 2nd time today I came 30 mins before closing, there were 4 of them inside, and they had locked the doors. No sign explaining, nothing. I’ve gone to GameStop in several states, this is the worst I’ve EVER been to. Will not be returning, I’ll just download my games at this point.

Today I tried to request a hold on a hard-to-find item that had been released more than a week ago. The online system said that they had it in stock. I never got an email confirmation so I called the store a few hours later. They told me that it had been preordered and never picked up. By gamestops policy, items are released 48 hours after release if not picked up. I reminded them of their own policy and they said it can change by the managers discretion. I would have been able to go into the store to buy that night, but instead they will continue to hold the item untill sometime next week for someone who only put partial money down on it. They could have another one shipped to their store in that time.So to summarize, they went outside of their policy to make it more inconvenient for a customer that was actually willing to buy something.
The manager Molly at this store totally took advantage of my 15 year old son. She made him buy an HDMI cable to get cash for an Xbox, Kinnect, Controllers and about 20 games. So we bought the HDMI cable for $15 and we didnt get to take it with us. So it reduced the trade by $15. When we called she was rude and condescending.
