I have taken a few vehicles here over the past couple years. These two guys are honest. That is very important in the auto repair industry. They have always done amazing work and at a fair price. The customer service is phenomenal!If you need a repair of any kind on your vehicle, call them!

Jack at Dorsey Transmission is wonderful! We are from out of state. Vehicle broke down in a restaurant parking lot. His affiliated tow company was kind enough to come get it immediately and tow to Dorseys at 10pm. Our flight was leaving next morning at 7am. Jack told us to go and enjoy vacation - hed take care of it. He was amazing! Vehicle ready to go when we returned. We could have really been taken advantage of. Dorsey and towing fees were much less than we expected. So thankful we found them. Highly recommend them!!!

They do not do tires, but they did a fantastic job with transparency and not telling you but SHOWING you what is wrong with your vehicle. They did not charge me despite putting in effort to lift the car and check the tires thoroughly.

Dorsey Transmission was friendly and respectful. My experience was excellent! They were honest, reasonable, and affordable compared to other mechanics. I understand vehicle repairs are expensive, but in my opinion they were reasonable. I would recommend them to anybody who needs an honest opinion about their vehicle.

My car was towed there by my insurance company - it was not worth having it serviced. So I asked my insurance company to tow it back home. I have towing within my insurance and my insurance suggested this place to see if my car was not running due to oil change negligence.In any case no negligence involved. We sold the car same day...insurance stated they would tow it back to us. But Dorsey Transmission will not release my car until they receive the insurance check and it has been cashed...up to 7 days. This is between Dorsey Transmission and my insurance company. Dorsey threatened me with a mechanics lien and tow my car to one of their impound lots. My car has been there for one day!Such bad business and very rude. I told them I was going to call the police...they said...we dont want to go there. Then give me my car back!!

They would have gotten 4 but have problems with my power steering line

I took my car here about 13 years ago, I got jack to rebuild a failed factory transmission on my 91 mercury. They did a good job, charged a good penny but the job lasted over 10 years so I will say it was well worth the money. Just recently the same car had a brand new trans put in it 2 years ago, after maybe 8k miles it failed. I believe because of installation error and not adjusting after install but nonetheless. I let jack and Rick get a shot at it, and I must say they didnt let me down! I came all the way from Largo to let these guys work on my car, and they were about the third person(shop) to work on it to no avail. One time was all these guys needed ‼️🎯

I’ve been going here for five years or so. They are incredibly knowledgeable and honest people. I would recommend them over anyone else in the area. They have worked with me in odd situations to a point where I feel lucky to have found mechanics like them.

Very honest, heard nothing but good things about this place. Was told by dealership I needed a new transmission, $7,000.00 and an ABS module. Dorsey Transmission checked vehicle and said there is nothing wrong with the transmission, I need an ABS module $400.00 and that will stop the heavy shifting while cold. I will tell everybody about this place.

I brought my 66’ mustang here for an engine swap and overall 360Check.Right away I felt at ease with the confidence and easy discussion with Jack about the work. It was clear he knew cars. His shop not only got my hotrod up and running quickly, Jack took photos along the way to show me the work and a video of the test ride! He also went out of his way to store it inside out of the elements.The work was quick, clean and worth every cent. His prices were fair as well.I am one happy camper!😁💪🏽

Had a lot of extensive work done on my Ford 2007 F150 truck. Not sure where to go to but friends of mind who have been going there for years told me about them. The best part is that they are only about 1/2 mile from my house. Had other people work on my truck who couldnt fix the problem, got it back and it rode the best it has ever been. Feels like a new truck again. Couldnt ask for nicer people also. They have gotten a new customer in me. There estimate was a lot better than the other place I was going to take it. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Amazing place to take your vehicle in for repairs. My hubby and I had a mechanic for over 20yrs. It was family owned. They did great work, very reasonably priced and great timing. They closed and we had been to various other ones and was extremely disappointed with at least one pricing, timing or quality. We finally found the perfect place and thats Dorsey Transmission! I have been a client of Dorsey Transmissions for 10+ years. In my 40 years of car ownership this is the only shop I feel comfortable dropping off the car and saying fix it. I know they will make the proper repair at a very fair price. I have recommended this shop to friends and family and they are all pleased.I like that the owner personally checks each car before saying its ready. Cant go wrong here for small or major repairs of all kinds.

Had a metal vibrating noise coming from under my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. Dorsey was the 3rd shop I took it to about problem. They were honest about not being able to fix & didnt charge me like 2 other shops did.

Dorsey is very fairly priced, and they are honest mechanics. They can tell you how much everything will cost including labor. They are the best mechanics we have been to in this area!

This has become the only place I will take my cars for service. They are friendly, helpful, do quality work and are very reasonably priced. They work with you and really care and take care of the customer. I cannot recommend them enough.Just something to keep in mind is that everyone else knows they are a great shop so it can take a day or two for them to get your car back to you. Theyre just that busy. I consider it a good thing and a sign of how good the place is.I cannot recommend them enough!

Rick is incredibly helpful, friendly, and understanding of all your concerns and questions! Ive been going to Rick for a little over a year now, and Im never leaving. He and his team have ensured that I was aware and informed of any and everything relating to my car before and after any servicing. Rick even provided me videos of exactly what was causing a noise in my car, and how they could replace it if I wanted. They never leave you feeling uneasy or taken advantage of. My vehicle is olderso Jack watches the mileage and lets me know what needs to done and when . Its a nice experienceto deal with Jack. I know Ive written a review here before so I guess Ill just repeat what I said before. This place is quite good. They tout the transmission repair but they do much more. Ive only brought 1 vehicle here but they were able to fix a transmission issue in 1 day, whereas, I took the vehicle to another place nearby and they told me I needed a whole new transmission. Good thing I didnt get a whole new transmission when all that needed to be replaced was a $10 piece of plastic (governor gear). I have a vehicle in the shop as I type this and hope to hear some good news (meaning a not so pricey repair) on my main ride. Since its a transmission issue, Im certain they will find the issue quickly and get the car back to me before the weeks end. Rick and Jack are good dudes and wont beat around the bush with your issues. Theyll just tell you what needs to be done and do it. The shop is located on Reece Rd and you cant miss it, as it almost looks like a popsicle stand minus the popsicles. If it were a popsicle stand, theyd have the best darned popsicles around! Thanks guys!

Really great experience. My transmission blew up the other day & the closest place is Dorsey transmission. I went and spoke to jack and he was just amazing. He was kind and very resourceful. I was very pleased! Also spoke to his shop foreman Rick was very helpful on what was going to take place had transmission repaired and was very satisifed.

Had my clutch swapped here. They did a great job and at a good price. Their customer service is also awesome.

Asked to fix a transmission leak heater core and oil leak had car for 5 months charged 500 and didnt fix any problems. Supposed to be transmission shop least could have got that right. Made up excuse for heater core about needing to take out ac refrigerant was a scam any one who know what there doing would have known that was completely seperate. Please take your car to experienced mechanic price will probably be less an work will we done on time by a smart mechanic

I would NEVER use this shop again. I had these folks work on my car and it has been nothing but problems.(1) My car does not shift into lower gears from the shifter, it will only go into drive and not 1 and 2.(2) I told them I smelled fuel and all they did was change the fuel filter and left the true (fuel line) source of the leak untouched and leaking.(3) They left vacuum lines leading from the transmission to the carb. loose and hanging and they melted on the exhaust.(4) They charged me top dollar as I requested the best parts available for a tune up and they used very poor/cheap parts that caused problems with the ride quality and loss of power with my car. I have never seen any of these parts sold at local auto part stores with the exception of the Champion spark plugs which are not the best as I requested.(5) They gave me an estimate and could did not do all of the work quoted, but when the bill came the doctored it up and charged the same amount stating that extra work needed to be done, but they never called to tell me.I would NEVER use this shop or recommend to anyone.I wound up having ALL the work redone after paying them over $1300.00

Took a 2011 Kia Sorrento in for a transmission leak. I had to take it back because it was still leaking, they still didnt fix the leak. After the car being in the shop for 3 weeks, and costing more than $3K, I decided not to go back. I expect a shop with Transmission in the name to have some expertise and foresight regarding transmissions, these guys dont.

I highly recommend this shop for any repair needed. I have used this shop exclusively for all our vehicles for several years. They dont cheat you, nor sell you what you dont need. We took our SUV in to have it checked out for a rattling sound. They said they fixed it and it seemed fixed at the time. It was only temporary, though. It began its awful rattling sound again (after we had just paid $400 to have it fixed). We called them to re-look at it but they said we only had 90 days, which was a lie when our invoice (in writing) said 6 months. They refused to look at it without us paying again and when we took it in for a 2nd opinion, they had actually messed up several other things. This 2nd mechanic only charged us $300 to fix everything they messed up plus fix the actual problem. The serpentine belt that they put in our SUV went bad in less than 6 months!! They wouldnt even offer to replace that. It is really sad that they would take advantage of customers and not be willing to even LOOK at it again when its their work. The work they are supposed to be proud of. I am sadly dissapointed and out a lot of extra money because of them. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. :( Denecia Lagundo
