What a professional! Amazing work by a true Master! Brass belongs HERE!
Mike is a real gift to the horn playing community. Hes worked on a couple of my horns. Not only does he repair them flawlessly, but he knows how to tweak each one to make it perform to its absolute best. He knew my Claude Gordon Benge trumpet well enough that he took the liberty of removing a brace and making some other minor non factory modifications, assuring me that he would undo the work if I thought the horn wasnt dramatically improved. And sure enough, the horn performed much better than it would have brand new off of the assembly line. Not to surprising, as Mike used to work at that same factory. He recently did similar work to my 1962 Paris Selmer L990, which plays unbelievably better than when I brought it in for a light cleaning and a stuck slide. He played the horn, examined it, and noticed ways that he could improve its performance. Im lucky to have a true master of his craft in my community servicing the most important tools of my trade.
Mike Paulson is the very model of a consummate professional. The best you are going to find in Seattle, in my humble opinion and experience. He really knows his brass! (you can bet your a>>...!)I shall be going to him again as soon as I need some work done on my horns...which is only a matter of time.
Perfect horn repairs the first time, no rework necessary. Highly competent. Highly recommended to me by my favorite trumpet player friends.
