The clerk was very helpful and kind. I googled a certain spice and Google said they had it at this store. The clerk initially wasnt sure what I was looking for so he looked it up on his phone and helped me find it in the store. I was very appreciative, as Id already been to two other stores looking for it.

We come here regularly! Love the olives and feta and snacks from the market downstairs. They dont have a ton of fresh produce but they have a large meat and import selection. The restaurant upstairs is great, affordable and delicious. Only downside is the restaurant closes pretty early. Friendly staff all around and always willing to educate us when we have questions or are just curious about something we see in the store!

Really nice folks work here. Great takeout food in the restaurant upstairs for a quick dinner. Downstairs is the store- great pre-seasoned meat for grilling; excellent selection of sweets and snacks specific to Mediterranean cuisine, even some that are prepped fresh and in Tupperware. Prayer rugs, turkish coffee stuff, spices, etc. A surprising amount of specialty frozen food. Also delicious cheese in the fridge. I would love to see more fresh veggies available but it’s a small-ish space so that’s understandable. There’s also a small parking lot right outside the store that’s really helpful; or a load-zone out front on lake city way if you’re getting takeout.

I have visited Goodies multiple times in the past 3 years or so. The packaged goods and sweets (nougat/baklava) are decent and veggies/fresh produce arent the freshest but what you see is what you get.Visited twice since after Covid, to get fresh goat meat. The first time there was goat stew meat which was packaged and kept at the counter, which cooked excellently and was indeed fresh. The second time there was no goat meat packaged at the counter. A lady who was doing the billing/packing, went to the freezer and got a pack of packaged/frozen goat meat. I specifically asked when the meat was cut/packed since Ive had bad experience in the past with frozen goat meat from other stores. She assured that it was packed on Monday; I was buying on Thursday. Cooking the meat that night I found that it was stale/old meat; the fat and bones tasted rancid.I would have appreciated not being lied to. Just for a mere $15 they lost a regular customer.

Love their selection. More expensive side for meats, but their quality is good. The last time I got fresh whole chicken I got home and saw it was frozen which was frustrating, but I still really enjoy their quality. I don’t like their premarinated meats though. Also, their restaurants have yummmmyyy Manasseh and sandwiches.

Little cramped, but thats the price you pay for a good selection in a small location. Staff is friendly, selection is good, but better for staples than every possible potential specialty item youd want. And bring cash if you can! The staff didnt emphasize it, so no pressure, but they did have a sign up mentioning that its preferable.

Review №38

The restaurant was very disappointing especially after reading all the great reviews I was really looking forward to trying the Veggie plate. The falafel was not good. It was very dense and old tasting. The babaganoush was bitter. It taste like it came from a can. The rice was good not great. The tahini sauce that was poured over the 3 falafels was probably less than a tablespoon served with three sticks of pickled radishes (whatever happened to onions) and tomato slices. One major plus was the humus was outstanding. This was definitely homemade and authentic and it showed. They just ran out of food and threw whatever they could together and served me and my daughter and. We will not be going back for this very reason. We also bought nearly $200 worth of groceries from the store and paid prior to eating at the restaurant another mistake. The quality of groceries were great and the family seem like folks but they have a policy that if you use a credit card you have to pay a $20 fee extra in the store. I offered to pay using a debit but was told it did not matter. Later I found that there was an ATM machine upstairs in the restaurant where I could have withdrawn the cash and paid for the groceries and saved the $20 if I had been told this information. Also, the restaurant only accepts cash payment for services. This family has a good business going on. They are making an additional $20 off every customer they get in their store by telling customers the will be charged an extra $20 if they do not pay by cash, because they know no one in America carries cash anymore. It’s a major scam! Beware of this place. I give them a 2 because they have good products in the store.

Amazing Mediterranean grocery tucked away on lake city. All of their prices are unbeatable and so is their quality. The make their own feta in house at an amazing price. They also have remarkably cheap fruits, olives, cooking oils, and halal meats. All sorts of cheeses are available, as well as candies, drinks, shisha, and bulk foods. The garlic sauce is legendary. Most of the food you can find here is nearly impossible to find elsewhere. Aside from the market downstairs, there is also an amazing restaurant upstairs. Go here! The food is awesome and super reasonably priced. Everytime I have been here they have been extremely friendly and kind. Its a pretty no frills dining room. Some things to know: they prefer cash! They do not have a card reader in the restaurant, but if you dont have cash you can go downstairs to the Mediterranean grocery store below, and they can take your card. Either way you should check out the grocery store, it has all types of great stuff (packaged foods, butcher shop, and produce). The Restaurant is counter service, so you order at the counter then find a seat.I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do!
