Seriously has the best fried chicken Ive ever had. No joke. I was giving a coworker a ride home, and he asked if we could stop in. He is vegetarian, but STILL recommended that I get the chicken. I was noncommittal at this point. However, when I walked in, it smelled like some *delicious* fried chicken. So naturally.. I had to get some. Got a four piece for 6.49 (breast, leg, thigh, and wing [I request that they sub another wing for a leg cause... well.. I like wings.]) Ive been back twice in three weeks. But this place has so much more! Its actually like a little grocery store, and has a pretty decent dry goods and frozen foods assortment. No more movie rentals though.

You know when you need to pick up something, just like one thing, but youd rather dive into a wood chipper face first then go to Safeway or QFC for just a quick thing? This place has what you need and then some! They have an incredibly well stocked freezer, a respectable selection of fresh produce, and things that I didnt think I would ever find in a corner store of this size. They also have fantastic hot and cold deli food including some pretty legit frozen Thai meals made locally. Plus, sometimes the people behind the counter give my dog a treat, which always gets a full five-star rating from me.

During my visit to Seattle, I spent 4 months for business. The customer service was average, not bad but not great either. The store selection is basic and pricey. The cooked food is salty and horrible too people with taste buds. Overall, if you need something quick and convenient it will do.

Great market to go to. Never had any problems and they usually have what I need. The deli is also not bad at all, I like the chicken tender meal combo.

Good selection of products for such a small market. Wine and beer, refrigerated and Frozen items, canned and bottled items, some baked items and prepared items and a deli counter. Higher price than a grocery store, of course, but good for needed things if you live nearby. The Mexican restaurant with the kitchen in the store has fantastic food. They trim their own meat and cut out most of the fat, and the taste is good and condiments homemade.

I remember being young and working on THE HILL and thinking I was the coolest ever. I wasn’t. I was a shop clerk. But, I worked on THE HILL. But, since I worked in THE HILL I was happy about it. I felt lucky so I was kind to customers. I never laughed at them and spoke I’ll of them so loud it could be hear at the back of the store. But the employees at this store seem to suffer from low self esteem. Or just plain old meanness. I’m not sure what sparked this cruelty but I hope they clean up their act. Travel, maybe (but keep your mouths closed). Take a class. Find out if your personality has more to offer than cruelty.Should be one star but the pudding is excellent.

Love City Market! This spot has an impressive variety of shopping options, in our case everything we needed to make breakfast burritos, nachos. They also have some produce and household necessities. Have them make you a sandwich! Tom Skerritt on marble rye will not let you down. They also have quick bite grabs, a solid beer and wine selection, and a movie store.The staff is awesome, super friendly. If youre in Cap Hill and need a thing, try here first.

I live quite close to City Market and visit often. They are open late (until 2AM) and have really saved my bacon late at night when I needed a toilet plunger, light bulb, or power strip for whatever reason.They sell a very respectable selection of beer and soda. There’s the usual suspects like Bud, Bud light, and PBR but also an unusually good selection of other beers, namely a banana beer that is very popular and a few sours/stouts/ciders/etc. that I haven’t been able to easily locate elsewhere.There are also many food items: frozen pizza, ice cream, chicken patties and nuggets, those frozen chicken pot pies, but also ramen, canned goods, etc. The pet supply section is really great as well for the space it’s given.Overall, I would recommend!

This is seriously the best bodega I have ever been to. The curation is incredible and unexpected, and I easily found a lot of my favorite things I can’t easily find in one place anywhere else I go. I was just a visitor in town, but I miss it already. Those Jojo’s potatoes and chicken tenders with their honey Dijon... *chef’s kiss* And they have refrigerated pre-prepared meals from several local eateries which is also a nice touch. Overall really robust and considerate, they’re open pretty late, and the staff was friendly! I hardly ever write google reviews, but had to say something about City Market. Highly recommend!

Perfect little corner store. Small hot food section. The jalapeño corn dogs are amazing. Donuts are solid too. Have a decent selection of drinks and necessities you may not want to hit a grocery up for. Anyone complaining didn’t live around the corner for 3 years and absolutely depend on this store.

Love the Mom and Pop atmosphere here. Prices are a little high which is absolutely fine by me. I will usually do all my this and that shopping here and will continue to contribute. Stop by here some time if your close, heck just swing by and see what Im talking about.

Its an odd little store lol...I actually came out here to do a Mobee Mission. Its really small! Theres only like 5 isles total. They have condiments with household items & soy sauce. Musty smell. The BEST thing about this store? Not ONE employee came by to bother me or to watch me to see if I shoplift! For me this is a good thing because this Mission took a little bit of time & I had to take ALOT of photos & some store employees will try to ruin that, NOT HERE! Its nice to not be bothered! I just dont know how fresh their food is... 😶🤔

Very handy. Open late. Great deli with sandwiches, corn dogs and chicken. Not the cheapest option, but always has the stuff I need.

Decent grocery/convenience store. Avoid the made to order sandwiches. Bread was dry, almost stale and roast beef was tough and flavorless. Other than the deli counter, I stop by here a lot for drinks, snacks, and some grocery items. The guys who work here at night are always friendly and helpful. I live less than a block away, so its convenient, really no reason to go out of your way to shop here.

A little on the pricier end, but a great neighborhood market with friendly staff nontheless. :)

You have got to got to try their bone-in fried chicken. Its made fresh in house and some of the very best in the city. Pricing is honest and for the neighborhood its reasonable too.

The mini food mart side is open from 6Am to 1:50AM, 365 days of the week. I have never seen them closed in over 35 years except once when the power was out for 2r hours. The staff at City Market are always helpful. Care about the community. Stock lots and lots of items. Prices are a bit higher than Grocery store but they have a wider selection than most mini marts. The Deli will make any sandwich you want, they always have Been and Beef Burritos, Joe Joe fries, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken fingers and fried chicken in the hot counter. The cooler has cakes, deserts, boiled eggs, cold sandwiches, take n bake pizzas and salads all made in the deli. They also have vegan sandwiches and other items from Hill Side Quicky. They have a small fresh fruit and vegetable area. A small selection of video DVDs for sale but not for rent any more. They have parking for about 10 cars.They have a londromate next door that is open from 10AM to 9PM. (Small load is $3.75 wash/ $0.25 cents per 10 min to dry). The londromate is always clean, machines work, give you clean clothes, they have tiny boxes of detergent and dryers sheets for $1.00. They have a drop off laundry service where someone else will wash and fold your laundry from 11 am to 5PM. They have a change machine that takes $1, 5, 10 and $20 dollar bills. If a machine takes your money without wash and no attendent is on duty just go to the mini mart and they will help you.

My first visit was some years ago needed to do laundry so I found out that this laundry mat was here from a friend so I thought I would give it a try.so here I am putting my laundry in and while Im putting in the last of my laundry thinking about where I could get some food so when I got to the dryer putting my clothes in I could smell this aroma of this scrumptious food so I went to find out where cause I didnt want to go far cause Im New to Seattle then and it was nextdoor thank God so Im looking forward to that great smell of fried chicken had dark chicken of course and potatoe wedges and a Mountain Dew so when Im doing my laundry yep thats where I get the best chicken in Seattle js

Soo the fried chicken..... No.Was rightfully skeptical.Tried it for lunch today around 11, started feeling a slight headache a few hours later, now lying here 9pm for the last couple of hours with straight up food poisoning - pounding headache, dizziness, nausea, dehydration, loss of appetite - the works. Have only been able to eat part of a banana since then which after some research found out it is one of the the top suggested food to eat after food poisoning. Interesting.Tasted fine but jeez.Change the oil, the chicken, idk change it all

Best little market in the city

No more overpriced than anything else in the city. They do however have a good selection--if Im paying a little bit more, at least here I have a choice. My opinion is merchandise is merchandise is merchandise. I totally dig the employees who are always friendly though, and its their service that sets them apart.

I never thought I would review a convenience store, but city market is amazing. Their staff are always friendly, the aisles well stocked, and the location is great.

05/09/2018tl;dr: Food safety standards do not seem to apply to the night crew.I live right next to City Market. I have been a regular for the past four plus years as I personally wanted to support them. But after the past couple of times I have been there I no longer can and I have filed a complaint with the city food protection office. Heres why:1. If you get their fried chicken get it during the day and not at night time. The cook at nighttime does not adhere to food safety standards.2. Three times upon getting food from their deli during the night shift I have gotten ill immediately after eating the food. I am thinking this is because they do not change the oil for long periods at a time.3. Upon the third time this happened I brought it up with the manager to tell him that their oil may be rancid and they may need to change it. I was blown off.I again gave them another chance today.4. I went in today to get some ground beef (wanted tacos but didnt want to head to QFC as I was being lazy) . I purchased the ground beef, upon going home I saw it had a USE/Sell or freeze by date of 04/28/2018. I went back in and brought it to the attention of the clerk, the same one as before. Upon informing him that this beef was likely rancid I again was blown off and they offered for me to replace it with another ground beef they had available. Upon looking for an alternative one I discovered that all the ground beef they are selling has the same use/sell or freeze by date. The beef was completely unfrozen and I had seen it there for awhile. So I went home and opened the ground beef to give it the smell test. Again my suspicions were confirmed, the beef was rancid.I have had enough so I filed a complaint, hopefully this can get them in order as I really do like going there. If the night crew held higher standards towards peoples safety when it comes to food it would get five stars no question. Until then I am staying away.

I stopped in city market at 10:53am on March 23rd 2019 the lady working the counter was very rude and disrespectful and she overcharged me.I just came in to buy a soda and a bag of pretzels.She was totally rude and disresrepectful she talked down and in a mono tone like why are you speaking to me, whats wrong with you.Her facial expressions was like I am about to punch you just because.She was like hurry up and get out.
