Went to San Juan Seltzery last night and had a great time. They did a lobster and hip hop night for Valentine’s Day and it was a four course tasting menu. Service was fantastic and friendly, with one of the bar tenders giving us a rundown when I asked what happened to Schooner Exact. The food was pretty good, my lobster was perfect, but my girlfriend’s was way over cooked and definitely missed a step in the cleaning and prep process... dessert was fantastic and their cocktails were quite good. I recommend this spot for a relaxed date night and assume their regular menu is a little more on point.
Come for the seltzer, stay for the food! All is super great here! We loved several of thevseltzers, especially peach, juniper and watermelon! The food was very good too. We split an excellent fish n chips with some herbed fries, along with the Little Gem Salad, which was a wonderful surprise of flavor.
Lots of seltzer options so nice if youve had trouble finding certain flavors in the store. Good seating options with food there and nearby. Friendly staff and chill vibe.
Its 2019, we drink flights of water now.I never knew there were places to hangout in this South of Downtown (SoDo) area. This hard seltzer taproom is very polished. San Juan is one of the few seltzeries in existence, and the only one in Seattle.Super chill staff and great drinks. Its on the expensive side but no matter, I support San Juan and what they have done!
LOBSTER & HIP HOP NEW YEARS EVE!First & Foremost I really did enjoy this low-key Lobster fair. Most of all, I adored our Bartender, Peter. He made everything pleasant & was devoted to this establishment.But...the SEATS sucked. So uncomfortable, it made it hard to stay (even for one drink).Didnt know anything about Hard Seltzer.I was Amazingly Surprised. Got 2 Hard Seltzer flights which made it a Wonderful way to sample their current selection. My favorite was the Cucumber Mint !!!The Staff was Super Friendly & Accommodating. This was an Event. So the menu was selected for us. I enjoyed the bulk part of the meal. Especially; Lobster 🦞, the fries were exceptionally good and yummy aioli.Of the appetizers, the poke was deliciously seasoned. The liver mousse pate was tasty but I was a lil taken back but the bread/crostini being slightly burnt. (See pic)I was disappointed in the greens. The salad greens had parts that were significantly brown ( See pic). They were tossed wet which left the lightly dressed salad with no flavor but yet coated. Sigh...the coleslaw was similar; wet & tasteless (see pic) (also served 1/2 portion with such a big spoon taking its other spot).San Juan Seltzery is off to a good start...Building their Hard Seltzers around their flavor profile...I was surprisingly impressed. They would do better with more interactive information in introducing the scope of Hard Seltzers.I really wanted to give more Stars. But I even thought I was generous due to how unfathomably uncomfortable the seats were. Also some other details were lacking with the guest experience; way too Oversized silverware, the bill was just Told to us of the amount, no physical check was presented.Great Concept. Very Good Hard Seltzer. Friendly Staff. But, since this was a destination restaurant and promoting a new brand of product.I recommend considering the patron to be comfortable and want to stay a little to enjoy... as well as wanting a return visit with others.
This is by far my favorite Seltzer. It isnt overly sweet and tastes great. Keep up the good work!
Seltzer based cocktails? Well, obviously we had to try this.Paired with some killer grub and snacks? Clearly a no-brainer.Swung by San Juan Seltzery a couple of months ago and was not disappointed at all! Some really interesting and tasty cocktail options made with seltzer and liquor mix.If it is your first time trying a seltzer based drink, try the flight. You cant go wrong with any of the options.
Love the food love the beer. I am really worried about the wooden Jenga set out front and the lack of parental supervision that is required. I watched on, as a stack nearly fell on 3 kids whose parents were in the other space.Updated on fall menu skip the BrieLT ..its short on brie. Do the gnocchi not as pillowy as tavolatta but for half the cost its a hearty meal
They should have consolidated me before they put out 4 new flavors. 2 I couldnt stand
We picked this up at our local Fred Meyer tonight. I havent cared for most seltzer brands but this is delicious and keto!
Killer space and fancy White Claw type bevvies.
Best Seltzer in the world. Keep up the good work y’all! Fresh and clean product with an excellent seating area and outdoor fire pit. Plenty of winery tasting rooms next door and a great food menu prepared in house.
Great one-time experience. Lots of flavored seltzer to try, some are hard to tell the difference and some don’t have much flavor. Small outdoor seating area and little to no outdoor service. I liked the blankets and fire. I didn’t like the food. Interesting layout choice. Glad I tried it once.
The old Schooner Exact still sells some of their excellent brews, but has branched into Seltzer. Try a 5 Seltzer flight, mine included:- Huckleberry (my favorite)- Cucumber Mint- Pear- Peach- JuniperSchool night, so no mixing but they have some intriguing cocktails.Food was good - bar food done well. And the staff were friendly and helpful.
Ethan stole does the food, tastes great! Seltzers have alcohol. Ive only been for lunch. They have a play area for kids, what a great idea. Also and outdoor area with heat. Seems like a very well planned operation.
This is a family friendly small place with food and hard seltzers on tap. They also have some cocktails, beer, and wine. There is a childrens play place as well. I wasnt that but if a fan because it isnt adult only. They have a heated patio with a fire pit. The strawberry hard seltzer water like an adult Caprisun - tasty!
Had an amazing Maine Lobster Valentines Day dinner. They were very accommodating for our baby to join us, which I value very much! Awesome staff, will be back!
We really like this place. Family friendly. Good drinks and food, mostly small plates. Our 4 year olds will outgrow the play area in the next year but its still pretty sweet. They no longer allow dogs on the outside patio, which is a bummer but well still visit.
This is by a far margin the best hard seltzer out there. Ive tried them all and San Juan is superior.
They have a kids play area with parent seating, and an outdoor seating area with a nice fire pit. The Seltzer is good, the beer is good, the food is pretty great. We went during happy hour and had several appetizers, they were all good. Its brightly lit and pleasant. They only criticisms I have are that the actual seating space is pretty small (unless theres another area I didnt see), and they dont really have table service, unless its at a time when I wasnt there (4-6PM). You order and pay at the bar, though they do deliver the food to your table. Overall, great place. We will go back!
The staff was rude when we misunderstood (actually took the advice) what we heard from another staff member. Once we ordered drinks, we then realized we were seated with 19 college kids. Yes, 19. All separate tables, but eventually it was a fraternity party during COVID-19. We were willing to accept the rudeness of the staff given everything restaurants have been through due to COVID-19, and even left a large tip still, but it’s wrong that they were so focused on our family following the rules and yet 19 college kids roamed around and kept coming close to us with no masks to pet our dog.
What a treat to have this so close to our Georgetown home. Enjoyed the food and seltzer’s. Service was great. We didn’t feel rushed and enjoyed the outside on a pleasant PNW afternoon!
Awesome experience!!!! They have seltzers not available in stores, like the amazing strawberry, and the super subtle cucumber mint!
Peter our server was amazing. Great food great drinks great fun! Our Happy Hour was Happy!!
So many options! This place was very kid friendly. Very busy on a Saturday night, but otherwise great.
Great for families with little kids. Happy hour from 3-6pm! Calamari was fantastic.
Great cocktail concoctions and the food isnt bad either. Come early to get a decent spot and not feel overwhelmed by the crowd.
Had the Greek Meatballs and the Double Drunk Brisket. Both were excellent, highly recommend. Also tried several of their beers. They have some great variety and love their sense of humor with the beer names.
Super disappointed! Totally set up to be family friendly but bartender told us that screaming kids were alot and great birth control. We didnt stick around for dinner because of the unwelcoming vibe from the staff. After ordering drinks from the staff that clearly wished we would leave, the drink pours are light and tasted subpar.Maybe consider coming without screaming hungry brats.
Delicious food with beer and wine on tap, who could ask for more. Oh yeah they also allow kiddos and they have a shuffleboard table and enough large TVs for the sports fans! Plus they have over 10 beers on tap that they brew and they have 3 different draft wines! There really is something for everyone here!
Not your average seltzer. Flavors are much more subtle and well-rounded. Plus, the food is fantastic!
Seltzers were fantastic. Theyre the only brand around thats local. In my opinion theyre far superior to Whiteclaw. Food was also really good, however, a bit spendy.
I am new to the seltzer world. After a spontaneous day at their selzery....I am HOOKED! Zero sugar, zero carbs and super good! Perfect alone or as a mixer for vodka etc
I have to admit I did not have any food here. However, their beer selections were delectable. Schooners had a brew called the Woodsman 3 year Woodinville cask aged darker brew. I cannot recall but, I assume it was a stout due to the tasting notes. The aftertaste brought a strong chocolate undertone. Either way it was absolute perfection. Aside from the beer or ciders the bartender Kenny was a blast! He knows what hes talking about and he was absolutely entertaining! Cheers!
Cool place. Interesting drinks. Really good burger & fries.
Damn tasty beer but what puts these guys over the top is their food. The food isnt your typical brewery/pub fair. Oh they have your normal bar fair but they also have a damn tasty and non-typical ones like gnocci. What ever you get its damn tasty.
Great beer, great food. Parking is a little tough, but it’s worth it. They have a great outdoor space if you want to enjoy some sun. Plus, after there are tons of winery tasting rooms around.
Awesome hard Seltzer flavors flights and cleanest taste ever. Great food to go with it.
Had a great experience here last week. The bartender was attentive and friendly. We sat outside at a table and she routinely checked on us, filled out water, asked if we needed anything. She did the same with the other tables as well. The beer was great, the snacks are good and the atmosphere is chill and family-friendly. I will be back!
Finally! A great brewery in Seattle! Amazing food and the American Strong Ale and the Evergreen IPA are my favorites. Highly recommended!Finer details: nice decor, attentive wait staff, will definitely come back.
Havent had a lot of beers at Schooner Brewing Company. But the McClung Steak Sandwich with egg was excellent! $12. Very good.
Didn’t have a high expectations but was nonetheless disappointed. Odd setup where you arrive at the counter and suddenly have to order drinks and food. That would be fine if it was just bar snacks but a $24 crab roll or an $18 hanger steak salad, it would be great to feel the level of service you’d expect from a reasonable sit-down restaurant. Instead we were rather awkwardly told “I’m just going to point out there’s bus tubs over there” as we were putting our jackets on. No where did I see requests to bus our own tables and in fact once or twice during the meal we had finished dishes taken by wait staff. Which one is it? Bus ourselves or not?The food was mediocre. We had a Caesar salad which was quite buttermilky. No lemon and kinda sad greens. The cod fritters had too much breading and ending up being just too chewy. And then the mussels and frites were just bland. No real seasoning to the tiny puddle of butter brine.Loud place. Lots of tvs. Plenty of kids. I’m sure it’s someone’s cup of tea but just liking the cider in cans isn’t enough for us to go back.
They all taste like beer. Yuck! White claw much better.
The hamburger was a great Keto friendly option. Good place to bring kids, they have some old toys and books that will keep kids entertained for a little while.
Great new taproom by Ethan stowell restaurants in the Sodo area. I had the chowder, and smoked salmon bruschetta. Very nice! Oh and this is another project by Dovetail General Contractors!
Only hard thing about this place is finding it, but I like that. Only the dedicated will prevail. Truely an industrial setting. When you walk in you are greeted with the smell of brewing beer. The air is filled with the lovely sweet smell of barley as it cooks. You can see some of the holding tanks from the bar and youll hear the brewery staff hard at work on the other side of the wall. There are 16 taps on an 8ft wide piece of stainless steel behind the bar giving an efficient feel to the room. Theres more here as well. Delicious bar foods thatll pair perfectly with the beers at hand. Fast and fresh service from the kitchen and helpful staff ensure youre taken care of at the right times. Really laid back but prompt. This is one of the best brewery experiences Ive ever had.
Great Beer and a great bartender. Would definitely go back
We got the calamari and crab cakes. They both tasted very fishy, were over cooked, plus way over priced for the serving size. You would be better off buying the seltzer’s from the store because they are over double the price for a 12oz. pour.
Its the absolute best drink Ive ever had! Please dont stop making them!
Gourmet food at a brewery in the industrial district.Outdoor seating was surprisingly nice given the location. Quiet, calm.Beer was fantastic.Barrel aged Porter was great. Not overpowering bourbon flavor like a lot of them, just a nice lingering caramel flavor at the end. Smooth, complex, tasty.Imperial Stout was also great. Smoky, roasty, really good.Raspberry wheat was not exactly my cup is tea.Food was interesting and well prepared. If you like fungus, the old world spatzel is for you. The sea scallops were lock your plate good.Overall just a great experience. Skip Pikes, head to Schooner
The food is delicious and the drinks are good but the service and the staff friendliness are not great. The same guy rang us up both times I’ve been and he isn’t friendly at all. He made a point to say that tip was not included in the charge when he turned the tablet for us to sign which I thought was very rude. When we were ordering we ordered food first and said we’re going to get drinks too and his response was “ok and?” I get it might be a stressful fast paced job but you’re deciding to work there so when people are paying to go there being friendly is the least you could do.
Service was sub par...17$ for two beers and hot water
Delicious raspberry peach ginger beer, broccolinni that makes you want to eat healthy, and a chicken + cornmeal sandwich with a bacon maple jam bite and slaw just made my day, like every visit to the beautiful contemporary industrial setting at Schooners. No wait, all great!
Impressively good food!! Hard ginger beer, cider, and wine options for non-beer drinkers, but the beer is fantastic, of course. Shoutout to Shay! The best bartender!!
Good shared plates. Nice selection of beers plus cider and wine. Good outdoor space
Bad service, didnt have anything we wanted and was rude about it. Didnt even order food due to the bad attitude. Paid for the items in cash(appetizer and a couple beers). Waiter assumed we didnt pay and ran outside to stop us. If I could give this place zero stars I would.
Lots of seltzer choices, food pretty good too
Routine visitors at this place. They keep making it easier on parents with an easy to monitor play area and plenty of distractions for littles. Beer is great and food is delicious.
Fantastic up and coming brewery and seltzery. The products are great, and the owners and staff are wonderful!
Beers and food are great. Like the Happy Hour
They actually are open on FRIDAY!! Come in & have some tasty beer or San Juan Seltzer!!!
Gourmet food, delicious beer, and a great staff. Definitely one of the best breweries in Seattle. A must visit!
Food and drinks are great!
My wife and family and I checked this place out a week or so ago. The service was great, the food delicious and not to mention the beer so so so good! We came back this week, however they had a party and couldnt accommodate. However, the owner came out noticed and remembered us (of course you cant forget a cute baby in the mix) and said he would try and rearrange to get us in. Now that is service! We didnt however allow him to do that even though we appreciated the kind gesture. Looking forward to going for brunch tomorrow morning and maybe just maybe see what BC Creative Media Marketing can do to get more people in their doors. :-)Check out this place! Its amazing!
Didnt feel very inviting. Been to many breweries in many states, most of the time they seem happy you came in.
A little hard to find, but the beer here is awesome. Tried the seasonal hoppy holidays. Deliciousness!
Venue was cold and loud. Service inattentive. Line for restroom. Broccoli app was overcooked and under dressed. Fries were broken bits. Good beer.
Great award winning beers and excellent food! Good brewery option for the whole family with toys and coloring options for the kids.
Some decent food choices but it is the beer that shines. The Brave Horse Ale is one of the best!
Great beer and truly excellent food. Its also kid-friendly, which is a pleasant surprise from a brew pub.
Good beer variety. Food was great.
WOW! Terrific beers, my favourite IPAs in Seattle. The home made gnocchi was also outstanding.
The staff was very friendly and attentive and the fries were delicious but imo the fish tacos were expensive for the portion you get.
Terrible service. The slowest service I’ve had in years.
Great beer, fantastic seltzer. Will come again!
Definitely top 5 brewery Ive been to around the Seattle area. Great beer and friendly staff.
Excellent beer. Great food. Wines from Nota Bene Cellars.
Very good beer, very comfy taproom, didnt try the food but did look at the menu and it looked very promising
Thoughtful beer and delicious seasonal food to match.
Food is a little overpriced for the quality. Beer is pretty solid, but not near the best in Seattle.
A lot of great craft beer choices, especially their porter combined with good food makes it a good place to stop by in sodo
One of my favorite craft brewers anywhere. Good people great beer!
Excellent food. Omg try the steak sandwich. It is amazing.
Great set of foods.
Very quick service. Quiet.
Great beer and fantastic food. Had pork belly. Yum.
Kid friendly great people good food
