Good food here at the Dish and great hot sauce selection!Giving a 4 star because we came here for breakfast early in the morning and forgot masks. Oops! It happens- were human right? The server made us feel TERRIBLE by shaming us in front of what seems like the entire restaurant. Mind you, our table was LITERALLY 3 feet from the door. She then said in an annoyed tone that she would check in the back to see if she had any. She came back with the last two she could find. Then she gave us the masks and proceeded to say in a condescending tone just so you know - theyre required everywhere here. Thanks for the info and making me feel completely unwelcome in your restaurant. God forbid we forgot our masks at 8 am on a Saturday morning. I live less than a mile from here. Probably wont be coming back here unless its to donate a $7 box of masks from Costco in loving memory of my fellow patrons that forget theirs.

Always have my eye out for little golden nuggets when Im treating myself to a weekend breakfast out- like The Dish Cafe on Leary Way! Nearly passed it up on my way into Ballard from West Seattle. It was definitely worth backing up and easily finding a parking space nearby. It was 9am on Saturday and my hubby and I walked right in and was immediately seated. I ordered My Favorite - yes, thats the name of my breakfast! And it will be from now on! Great service, great food, great prices. My definition of a golden nugget!

The Dish Cafe has a diverse menu, excellent service and outdoor seating available. I ordered their biscuit with gravy, eggs & potatoes...super delicious! Spouse enjoyed Nikos scramble with scone & fruit vice potatoes. Portions were not oversized, but ample for the average eater. Prices seemed a bit on the high side given the portion size, but this is true just about everywhere these days. We would definitely return and highly recommend The Dish Cafe. Just get there early--its not a huge place and quite popular especially on weekends.

Wry good food. We had the breakfast sandwich and half order of Benedict. We got there just before the Sunday morning rush and it got a bit crazy due to under staffing but they did a good job anyway. Well certainly go back when were in Seattle again. As another reviewer noted, their scones are unusual but very good.

Went on a Sunday. Although busy it was worth the 20 minute wait. Best breakfast weve had in awhile. We had the my favorite omelette with curry sauce and the Seattle to Portland scramble with tomatoes, bacon, spinach. Make sure to order the scone which is really a delicious coffee cake. Even the drip coffee was good! New favorite breakfast hole in the wall.

Decent little dive cafe, but they dont know how to cook eggs... I ordered over medium and got under cooked eggs even for over easy. The potatoes were meh and they didnt have any jam or anything for my toast. The veggie burger is home made and delicious. Service is what I expected. Overall its a solid 3 stars. I would give it another chance, but I think they could do a better job of keeping things clean and fresh as well.

The Dish has been my favorite breakfast restaurant in Seattle for years! It feels like a cozy familiar place to get reliably good food and an overall warm and welcoming experience. Their service is really great, you barely ever have to wait a long time to get a seat and you can drink complementary coffee in the meantime. The veggie benedict and My Favorite scramble are my friends and I go to every time!

Reasonable prices and friendly service, just an all-around good experience, definitely would recommend!

The people were very friendly, though we felt a bit rushed. Theyre obviously more focused on getting the next customer than serving the current one. I admit that as I write this Im not feeling the love. My daughter was very pleased with her kids breakfast. She got the kids classic breakfast which came with 2 eggs scrambled, potatoes, 2 slices bacon and avocado substituted for sausage. I ordered the only Veggie option and though I ordered it with additional avocado topping, it was an incredibly small portion...especially for the $12 I paid for it :( I counted the forkfuls and I got 11. More than a dollar per forkful. There were no special veggies or delicate decorative lettuce pillows, just a large plate with a not very appealing layer of pan fried veggies (mostly potato). I took a picture from the side to show how little there was, but honestly it looks like more than there really was. It was just cleverly spread out to look sufficient. It hardly rose above the edges of the plate. I think my daughter received the larger (more delicious) portion for half the price. A single layer of plain veggies topped with a $2.50 quarter of an avocado. I mentioned this to the server and they took it away, but promptly brought it back and said thats the normal portion. The eggs Benedict looked good, but I wont be coming back...

I have been mistreated at this place, and very disappointed. The person who is sitting people didnt give me a chance to look for a space to sit. It was a busy time, but he should have talking to me with respect. He shouted to just wait outside! This is not the way you treat customers. He was very defensive even after I explained my disappointment to him.

Cozy place. Can get a little crowded at peak times and at those times service and food to table times can be slow. Not the case today. Friendly and quick. A bit of a Mexican flair to the standard American eggs and hash breakfast. Slacker special is a crowd pleaser, they have breakfast burritos, for example...They distinguish themselves most with the quality of their ingredients. Orange tint to the egg yolk. Bacon so hearty its approaching ham.Whatever you do, try their homemade scones. Epic.

Instead of waiting for a table, we sat at the counter and got a full blast of how much of a neighborhood diner Dish is. We were bookended by regulars who literally ordered the usual from the waitress. The staff was beyond friendly. After finding out that we were visiting and going to Bumbershoot, our waitress gave us tips for driving and parking at the festival. They have a bunch of hot sauces lined up on a shelf so you can pick your poison. Id recommend the always-delicious Secret Aardvark. It gave the poached eggs + corned beef hash a nice kick. That plate came with a scone which, confusingly, looked like a coffee cake but eh. Ate and liked it anyway. We also got an order of biscuits and gravy, which was overkill considering how massive our main portions were. We ate one biscuit and took the other to go, and it was still the best a few hours later.
