Perfect poke bowls! We are such fans. Love getting a mixture of rice and salad as the base. Also love the selection of Asian groceries...once our mochi balls had freezer burn, but we took them back and got a refund with no problem.
We moved to Wallingford about 8 months ago and had no idea this place existed! Super yummy poke fix in a convenience store. Definitely not normal, but different and it works! I wish you could customize your bowl more but it was still good.
Yo honestly this place is so good! The food was so tasty and the spicy option was actually a good amount of spice which I really enjoyed! Very filling and it’s so cool that they have so many tasty Asian snacks cuz it’s part convenience store, part food. I loved it and I’m coming back!
Absolutely my favorite poke place in Seattle. From the rice to the seaweed salad to the tofu and salmon, everything is perfectly prepared. Great deal for a really filling meal.
Wow, we were amazed by the poke bowls of this small hole in the wall. The bowls were packed with food and the fish tasted so fresh and delicious. The bowls are so much bigger and fresh than what we are used to in Minneapolis.
Great Poke. Don’t order Miso Soup unless you are prepared to make it yourself. It is a build your own soup kit.
Amazing as always! In 2016, 45th Stop N Shop gained rapid popularity with a spike in earned media. The quality has remained consistent since its rise to fame and lines are no longer way out the door. Less wait for the same great poke.Recommendation: Double check the hours before heading over • Take it to-go and eat it at nearby Gas Works park and offers amazing Seattle views!Pros: • Fresh fish. • Good variety without an overwhelming number of options. • Always super fast.Cons: • This is not a build your own Poke Bowl spot, bowls come with standard toppings with limited customization (pick your base and your protein). • Very limited seating, dont plan on eating there.
Dude go here! Best poke place ever and so yummy. Also the most affordable place in Seattle. Go here and you won’t regret it. It’s a fun place and the neighborhood is awesome
My favorite poke spot in Seattle! Unlike other places that focus on the quantity of sides, 45th puts a lot of thought into the quality and flavor of the fish.
Ive known about 45th Stop and Shop Poke for years (theyve been around since before the poke craze) and finally went on a whim. I visited within 45 minutes of closing so they were already cleaning up, so I felt kind of bad for that. For those unacquainted, the place is a small convenience store with the poke operation running in the back of it. I was expecting a bigger convenience store and a smaller kitchen but I was there for the poke. I guess I had not done a lot of research but I was surprised that all I really needed to order was the size of the order, the seafood and the rice or salad. I was expecting to have to order the sides but no need. I placed my order for spicy tuna and spicy salmon with half rice and half lettuce and waited a probably 3-5 minutes before it came out. While I was expecting a little more fish (maybe its because I came in an hour before closing), I was really impressed with the spicy marinade on the poke. It was flavorful and complex and not too salty or sweet. I also enjoyed the sides a lot. I enjoyed the imitation crab salad and seaweed salad. I also really liked the crunchy topping on the dish. Overall, Im glad Ive finally visited and will probably come back again.
Amazing flavor and amount. Would recommend to anybody!
I love this place. This is my no1 go to poke place. The salmon is my favorite
Bottom line first: Good fish, well dressed bowls, and AMAZING burritos served in quite the unassuming setting.Supposedly this is the best poke shop in Seattle, as rated by an Eater poll. It definitely lives up to the hype. I was particularly blown away by the poke burrito. For $11 this burrito was worth it. Filled with yummy poke, well seasoned rice, and an assortment of other goodies, this burrito was packed with value and flavor. The poke bowl was also good. The fish was very good. I tried the tuna, snapper, and eel. The bowl was filled with lots of other goodies as well, similar to the burrito: rice, lettuce, edamame, Japanese pickles, ginger, seaweed salad, and nori. Not sure why the bowls are loaded with so much lettuce, but so be it. I added avocado to my bowl for $2, but was actually guacamole. I was expecting fresh avocado but more bang for your buck than chipotle for sure.Overall I thought the food was great. Value was definitely a plus, but I would have preferred for some more fish and less lettuce. I absolutely loved the burrito and will be back for another one!
I love the poke here. But I went in and the men putting together the bowls were NOT WEARING MASKS. Which wouldn’t be that big of an issue if they were not TALKING WHILE DOING IT. I had bought the poke by the time I noticed but I’m frankly too grossed out to really want to eat it.I get vaccines are out and everything but there is still a risk. And covid or not, it’s seriously gross to be putting together someone else’s food while talking. Spit flies.I won’t be coming here for a while. Hiroshi’s is my new best friend 😙😙
Simple and fast ordering!! Delicious poke and fresh fish too. I love the spicy shrimp and salmon combo and all the toppings that I didn’t need to pick out but are all tasty. Definitely one of my fav poke bowls in seattle:)
This is te two fish poke bowl with half rice, half salad for $13! It was delicious and a huge portion! I definitely like the tune better than the salmon, but both were good. And based on the seaweed salad in this dish, Ill definitely be getting a seaweed salad side next time! Highly recommend! Also excited to try the wrap things!
Expensive for low quality poke. Sad white rice, 3 pieces per type of fish, unagi full of bones that will give you scary moment every few bite. And the sauce, just spicy Mayo. Very sad poke in general, disappointing
I was craving sushi, my partner suggested we look for places offering sushi burritos and we found ourselves here. By the time we dropped in they were sold out of the burritos, so we opted for the deluxe 3-fish sushi bowls instead. I went with the izumidai, salmon & tuna with avocado and spicy and it was absolutely delicious! Ive had poké bowls before where they skimp out on the fish, but there was a good heaping portion of fish in our bowls, along with the other tasty additions like krab salad, kyuri tsukemono, masago, lettuces, etc. Damn fine poké bowl! There was a solid selection of snacks, sake, teas, sodas, even chu-hi! Legit place. Glad we found it!
Favorite poke shop in the area! Would highly recommend.
I’ve always enjoyed coming here for poke but I ordered a shrimp bowl the other day and all the shrimp had tails on them...other poke places in the area have shrimp with no tails making it easier to eat. I also asked if there was already sauce added to the bowl and the girl working there assured me there was but sadly there wasn’t and I didn’t grab any sauce to bring home with me which was disappointing. Won’t be coming back here for a shrimp poke bowl.
Always so fresh and really generous portion of fish. Best poke in Seattle for sure!
I just had amazing poke at turtle boat in landlocked Colorado. Amazing. So fresh. I came home and finally got to try 45th stop n shop & poke and am super disappointed. Ive been hearing about this place for like, a year and Ive seen lines out the door. The toppings are boring and the fish is not at all fresh. The texture is wrong. Like they freeze it or leave it marinating for over a day. We live in the Puget sound. Theres no reason not to have fresh seafood. Its fine. I think Id be happier at like a 9-10 dollar price point and Im glad I didnt have to wait in a line for this.
Great corner shop that serves delicious poke!! For $10-$13, you get a lot of food! Its enough food that youll feel satisfied but not bloated! You get your fish, krab (they does it that way) salad, regular salad, and rice with sweetened soy sauce. I think its great! For reference, izumidai is red snapper, unagi is eel.
This place is super popular so i feel that stuff is fresh due to turnover. Been here twice and flavors are consistent, comes with a lot of things in your bowl, some edamane beans, imitation crab seaweed with rice and salad with ur choice of fish. You can choose two types of fish for an extra dollar and their choices come in original or spicy. Original is still mixed with a sauce base. I initially didnt get original because i thought it would unflavoured. Id recommend the salmon and tuna in both original or spicy . I tried the red snapper but the texture was more tough/dry. You can also get sushi burritos but i have yet to try that. The only kind of down side is the seating is limited as it has seats for about 12 people fast food style. Order at counter pick up your food and find a spot to eat. Most people take out for that reason. Would highly recommend this place due to their quick service and large portions despite their lines. I lucked out and havent lined up out the door yet. But there is always more people adding to the line. Dont let the pictures of lining up out the door scare you, it is totally worth the wait.
Awesome poke by the pound. Next time I think a side of rice would be good to.
45th stop n shop is very unique in that its literally located in the back of a corner store. The fish here tastes fresher than what I usually get at other poke places, which I especially noticed in my salmon. The rice and other parts were okay; they dont have as many options as other places (i.e. fob) and you dont get to customize it as much either. No seating of course! If its a nice day, maybe take your bowl to enjoy at Gasworks park.
Decent poke! Im a huge fan of the spicy salmon and spicy tuna. The bowl is full with seaweed, edamame, pickles, ginger, lettuce, crab salad, and roe on a bed of rice. You can get to go containers of their sauces.Staff was fast and friendly. There were three people in front of me and it took less than five minutes to order and get my food.
The star rating is based on food only. This is the best Poké place in the Seattle area! Its a small shop with half convenient store and half Poké order/ eating area. Nothing fancy. You pick your protein(s) either with rice, salad or half & half. Then, they take will care of the rest. You can also just get the protein by lb.Their sauce is a bit on the salty side but full of flavor. Ingredients are fresh and portion is good.Pro: fresh ingredients, friendly and fast service.
Really great poke, but they generate a ton of non-recyclable plastic. I wish they would move to cardboard bowls.
This is our favorite takeout spot. The fish is amazing, but so are all the other toppings. I don’t even know which one I love the best! The pickled ginger? The crunchy roe? The seaweed salad? It all ties together perfectly with some rice and greens. Healthy and delicious!
I used to love this place but it feels like quality/quantity of fish has gone down, and they compensate by dumping more sauce in. The bowl is a little too salty for me now 😢
This is what I choosed basic bowl 2 fishes that tuna and salmon. Tastes really good! They puts lots of vegetables. There are rice under the fishes and vegetables. They concentrate the fish and vegetables than rice. So, you might not be feel full if you like rice or youre common meal is rice. But it is really nice! I want to go there again. Also, the servicer was kind.
Best poke I’ve ever had
Im quite the lover of sashimi & poke as I eat it 4-5 times a week. This place definitely is my favorite poke shop in all of Seattle so far. The serving size is just enough where I would be satisfied with not eating more (and I already have a huge eating capacity) at a very appropriate costing point. The marinades used in the sashimi are quite distinct and flavorful, and that doesnt include the quality of the fish that is served. The cuts are very ideal and the texture is perfect. I love how simple it is to order as the extra addins that come with the bowl are standard. No frills and everything is portioned well! The store itself is a convince Mart that sells poke as well. Fun fact, the beer there is helllllla cheap! Ive taken quite a few friends here and they have all loved it immensely. I dont give many places 5 stars, but Ill gladly give this poke shop my recommendation and a solid 5/5.
One of my favorite places to pick up food in Seattle! Faster service than fast food and excellent quality.
Really good food, but how could you keep your sushi burritos on the menu when you havent sold them in 2 years?
What is my review? I review it fantastic. Best poke I have ever had. I go here everytime I pass through Seattle. Im serious. You actually really need to come here if you live in or are visitng Seattle! Please! Please!
GoPoke crushes this place in quality / staff is kinda rude, too
Great food and FAST! We got our order made and delivered via Caviar within 30 min, but the food was ready within 10 min. They read the notes and prepare orders accurately. The quality of the ingredients is great and all the flavors come together beautifully. Such a local gem!
Good stuff. Fast stuff.
Solid toppings & fish but mediocre rice
Favorite poke shop. The menu is simple, choose your protein and go... theres no selecting of toppings and sauces, etc. What you get is really well prepared poke bowls, with tasty sauce and the best of the toppings youd get elsewhere. My only gripe is that this location doesnt seem to have the poke burritos unfortunately.
You wont be picking each and every ingredient of your bowl here. Unless you specifically ask for something to be left out, youll just be picking your base, your fish, and your fishs spiciness. But the experience is better for it. These folks know what theyre doing, and the ingredients work together perfectly. Ive tried a solid handful of poke places, but this little counter inside of a corner convenience store blows them all away.
Very good, well executed and simple poke. It would be hard to do better in Seattle, and impossible at the price. Dont be intimidated by the line. Their service is very fast. I often have my poke in hand within a minute of ordering, no exaggeration.
Went here about 40 minutes before closing and we ordered a poke bowl and burrito. The burrito was not substantial and lacking fish. The bowl however, was filled with fish and very delicious. The sauce they use is amazing. I would definitely return for the bowl and skip on the burrito. Service is great is the location is quaint and theres plenty of counter and table seating for a quick meal.
This is the one and only Google review I have ever given, but these guys are worth it. This is the best Pokè I have ever had. We get it at least once a week, sometimes more. If you’ve never tried Pokè, this place will change your life. It’s so good! The employees are awesome and the owner is a really good dude. Thank you 45th for making our week, every week!
In a city that is suddenly full of great poke, Stop N Shop stands out as the best. Its definitely worth the wait, which there often is in the form of a line out the door. Thankfully the line generally moves pretty quickly, with each customer receiving their order shortly after ordering. The customer service is also fantastic and you are made to feel welcome.Dont be alarmed by the fact that this spot is in a convenience store. The building is split down the middle with the convenience store on one half and the small area to wait for or eat your poke on the other. The store mostly offers snacks (which you shouldnt get because youre about to eat the best poke of your life) and beverages. You can choose a 1, 2, or 3 fish bowl with a variety of fish normal or spicy. I almost always go with the spicy salmon and spicy tuna bowl and it is incredible. The flavors of all the ingredients come together amazingly. I definitely am guilty of eating here at least twice a month but Id eat here every day if I could.
My favorite place to get my fix for poke without having to be on a plane for 6 hours. Very friendly service and great vibes! Always love coming here! Thanks for the great poke!
Its economical. Not really a poke bowl, but still delicious, and they do not skimp on the portions at all. Overall the place has such a friendly vibe that you will have a good time.
Seriously the best poke in Seattle. So good and very well priced. I usually get salmon and tuna, its always very fresh. The people who work here are also great, really friendly, seem to enjoy what they do. Its also cool that its in a convenience store so you can get snacks or drinks to go with your poke!
Really good poke in the least likely place! Husband and I love going here for a quick lunch. And were talking 5 minutes or less quick. Poke always tastes fresh and the bowls have a good assortment and quantity of toppings. The line can be intimidating but it moves quickly since the menu is short and sweet.
IMO, this is the best poke bowl in Seattle. Super fresh, seasoned just right and comes with a bit of salad and rice in the bottom. Totally satisfying.
This place is awesome and arguably the best poke in Seattle. Cheap for the amount you get and excellent quality, staff is always friendly and super quick. Call ahead to avoid the wait or you will be in line for 5-10 minutes at peak hours. Once you order though, the food is made to order quite fast. Dont forget to grab some of their dank sauces as you go!
Delicious poke done right. The quality of the ingredients is always great and the mix of savory and spicy flavors is excellent. There is a layer of fish on top, spring mix in the middle, and rice on the bottom so your fish doesnt get grossly warm. Great music and vibes and the service is always fast and efficient.
You cant go wrong with poke. The menu choice is very simple and limited, so its its easy and quick. Theres only seating for 3 to 4 people in the entire place, unless you want to sit on two loan chairs outside. Good price and quick, simple service. Just wish there was space to sit and eat more often.Edit: It is frustrating to not be able to call this place to check holiday hours when phone is busy or not working.
Poke here is sooooo delicious! It looks like a little convenience store, I would’ve never thought they would have the best poke! Loved going there for lunch when I worked in that area. Now that I don’t work near there I miss it so much! 100% would recommend!
The appearance of the store front will throw you off track, but this place is always busy. The food is exceptional. Every bite is a wonderful sensation.
The most epic poke bowl and young fun employees behind the counter. Great drink selection and they play fun music. So freaking fresh and delicious.
Fast, good quality and quantity, two could probably eat one of these bowls as a light meal. I always like the tuna. Offered a sample of the white fish(like snapper) ordered that instead, very good. A bit pricey but it is Seattle.
Cozy convenient store with a separate stand to order poke bowl. Wasn’t sure what one type of sashimi they had tasted like and they offered to give me a sample. Fish is fresh and the price is reasonable. Ordered half and half, only a little disappointed that there were too much vegetable and a little lack on the amount of fish. Other than that, I recommend.
This was my first time trying Poke, and it’s not going to be my last! I had a great experience here, food came out fast, and luckily the line was short(busy most days). The tuna and salmon Poke bowl exceeded my expectations. The rice and crab salad gave it a nice balance. If you are trying Poke for the first time go here, you will not be disappointed.
This poke is delicious and inexpensive. I go here frequently. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is not much seating inside, so I always get my food to go. I have never had to wait for more than a few minutes.
Perhaps the best poke bowl in seattle. Service is super fast, fish is always fresh, and I never spend more than 5 minutes waiting for my order. Great take-out place, there isnt place for a party to sit and eat. Always good! Always yum!
Poke is consistently fresh and tasty. Only downside is you dont have a lot of control over what toppings they put in your poke. Spicy tuna poke is always a good pic at this shop!I recommend taking your poke to go as there isnt much space to eat in the shop.
Great poke. Some of the best around. A couple of my friends from the south end of the county come all the way to Wallingford to get a bowl. The shop is small, with limited seating. But a lot of people get their poke bowls to go, so you can usually find a seat if you want one.You get a choice of type of fish and whether you want spicy sauce. You can customize further if you want, but the standard bowl is great.
Ive been trying to make it in for over a year. At first I wasnt sure that I liked that the bowl came ready made with all the fixings already added. But I went for it and got it as is. Spicy Tuna and salmon, No extras. It was delicious! I will now order my bowls like this at other places, but also just come back here often!
Solid poke bar located within a convenience store. The ordering system could use work as a cashier takes your order rather than you selecting toppings Chipotle style. This makes customization a bit harder due to the need to communicate everything verbally to the cashier, who then passes it on verbally to the staff.
Stopped by for a last minute smack for the plane ride. The fish was so fresh and it included all the sides I would get normally at no extra charge. Would recommend!
The poke is absolutely wonderful and some of the most delicious Ive ever had! Im here 3-4 times a week for great food, friendly staff and Im out the door within a minute or two after I order my food. All-around a very satisfying experience!
This is my favorite poke place in Seattle. Large portions with delicious fish. Ive tried the poke burrito once and was really happy with it but tend to stick with the bowls.
