It’s sad to say, but University Volkswagen is no longer the premier place to get your VW. Customer Service is dead and the staff could not be less engaged and interested in your satisfaction. After nothing but problems, I’m ready to leave this place behind and give my business to Carter.
I brought my car in due to a recall notice. I cannot be without my car atas I drive a lot for work. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted with enthusiasm. Each of the people with whom I interacted were pleasant, knowledgeable, and kept everything moving smoothly. I had a great experience at the service department. I had a great experience during my recent visit - left my car on Dec. 9 and the work completed and picked up my car on Dec. 11 as promised.Michael and Brandon are professional and courteous. Michael kept me informed and explained the work necessary. I appreciated the promptness and their friendliness.Most of all, I felt and witnessed this is an honest shop. I know I will be going back to University Volkswagen for any other services in the future and for the next oil change for sure.
Had an amazing experience with the sales rep Ahmed. I contacted the dealer via email. Inquired about leasing a new Passat. I specifically asked to be contacted by email and Ahmed was able to answer all of my questions via email in a timely manner, got a great deal on the Passat and closed the deal same day. I bought a 2017 VW Alltrack from University Volkswagen about 6 months ago. Since then I have had my scheduled services done but most recently my visit was for issues with my turbo. For context, the Alltrack has some common issues that I knew about going in so I made sure to buy an extended warranty. Well, that paid off yesterday. The electronic wastegate went out at 40k. To my pleasant surprise the dealership is covering this under warranty, no biggie. I expected to bring it in and get a little flack but nope all I got was knowledge and logical answers. To be honest, I would have been ok if they did not cover it. The reason for that is the Michael the service manager was very forthcoming and transparent about the whole process.If you get anything from this review it is do your research when you buy a car and know that ALL cars will have their own sets of issues. The idea is to buy a car and know what you might have to deal with in the future.German cars are the best cars to drive because they are designed so well but the cost of driving a well designed car is MAINTENANCE.That brings me back to the service department.These people do not make the cars, they work in damage control.Consider yourself lucky if you find yourself in a service department where the team actually like their jobs.You are welcome for this free lesson and if you want to follow me on Instagram. @2017vwalltrackCheers,James

This is the worst place to buy a vehicle. Will not stand behind their stated warranty, dishonest sales tactics, dishonest service department (James and Michael). This is a rude and arrogant dealership, that does not value the safety of the public. This dealership is know to sell vehicles that are not considered as a safe vehicle under Washington State Lemon law. Buyer beware, this dealership is fraudulent in every aspect and is on a watch list with the Attorney General and the FTC.Do not buy a used vehicle from this dealership. The used vehicle purchased from this dealership did not even last a week before a complete failure occurred. Repairs that cost more than the vehicle sold for and University of Seattle would not honor the stated warranty.This dealership has a horrible relationship with VW Customer Care (Corporate). VW Customer Care does not recommend anyone buy a used vehicle from University VW due to their known shady tactics.

Ive been bringing my Cars here for service the past year, and I have never looked back. It may be a longer commute, but Id rather pass the other 3 VW Dealers near me to work with University Volkswagen. Michael Oldham is hands down the best advisor Ive ever worked with, hes quick to get my car diagnosed, and never turns up empty handed when I bring my car in for an issue. I could never thank them enough for their help and service, especially from someone as nit-picking as me.
Got my new vehicle that is less than a year old detailed to keep it looking new and paid $300 for it. Expected to receive my vehicle back in like new condition but it looks like they just ran it through the car wash and gave it a vacuum. When you pay to have your car detailed it should not have water spots, streaky windows, dirt on rims, and/or dirt in seat cracks. Cannot recommend their detail department.
My experience as always was seamless. Everytime I come here, the staff is always so accommodating and transparent. Michael in particular is incredible and I am so grateful for his expertise and clear communication throughout the day while my car is being worked on. If I could give University VW 10 stars, I would.
I didn’t have an appointment and was just looking around and the staff was all really kind and very helpful. I really didn’t know what I was looking for but I knew what my budget was and Stephanie was amazing and pulled up a few options that she had. After deciding I really liked the options she showed me, 2 of the cars were sold (bummer) but Stephanie always had another one to show me, still within my budget. I’ve never purchased a car before but she was so patient and helpful and the whole experience was really relaxed, not at all how I was expecting. She even has checked in with me after the purchase just to make sure I was happy with my car or if I had any questions. 10/10 would recommend.
I dropped off my VW to see if the brakes needed to be re-done, and they did a multi-point inspection and got me a Lyft to work. Turns out the brakes were fine, they fixed another issue that was under warranty, AND washed and detailed my car. Awesome service I wont take my car anywhere else!
Chandler Reed was awesome. He got us into a car late one afternoon at a moments notice. He got us all setup with a quote a few days later by text and made it so easy to purchase. He really went out of his way.I also really appreciate their COVID procedures, including requiring gloves. Other dealerships we visited did not take as strong of precautions.

Went into look at a pre owned vehicle and ended up driving away In a brand new car. Ahmed made the whole experience very pleasant. I found a car I liked on-line, called, and got an appointment to test drive it right away. I was initially a bit stressed about purchasing a car but John Lillig helped me and really took the stress off. I purchased my 2019 Volkswagen AllTrack in May of 2020… to date it has spent 6+ weeks in Service (yes… it is met the criteria of lemon law). Volkswagen does not seem to understand there is a worldwide pandemic going… and that King County has yet to make it fully into phase 2 of reopening. There are those Trump based Covid Deniers out there… and this dealership is part of the problem. They seem to find it perfectly acceptable to continually send me out in a car that breaks down on the freeway… on the way to the grocery store… trying to make a living during these trying times. They seem to find it perfectly acceptable to put me and my family in harm’s way to economize corporate profits despite my health, safety, science, and public health.Imagine yourself… stuck on the freeway… car broken down… your children in the back… for a good hour… dealing with tow truck drivers climbing through your car without a mask… and then loading everyone in an Uber… praying no-one gets sick. Now imagine having to do this day after day… for weeks on end… every time your car has been released from dealership (again… and again… and again) … the constant stress of not knowing you’ll be able to make it to your destination safely.Now imagine having to deal with the Volkswagen Customer Care team… you’ve seen those video’s of Trump officials telling you to drink Bleach and get back to work… and send your kids to school… denying there’s a global pandemic… this will be your experience… it’s like Trump press conference… and you’re the one trying to get a straight answer. This will be your life.The 0% interest looks good now… the blow to your pocketbook… personal safety… and health… will last for years! Buyer be aware… they will economize the life of you... you family and your friends in order to not meet their legal obligations.

I had been online car shopping for a few weeks and was seeing which brands and dealers had the best deals. I knew I was interested in some sort of VW, not sure of model and year. Then it started to narrow down to a Jetta GLI and I called University VW to ask about their discount on a solid black model with the back package (seemed to be the only one in the area at the time). I indicated that some other dealers were giving 4K off and wanted to see if they could match it. Ahmed, called me back and indicated that was on a 2020 and theirs was a 2021, I apologized for my confusion. However, they were going to see what their manager could do, I knew what I wanted for my car and I simply told them and wanted a 4K discount on the 2021 Jetta GLI. I was not expecting much to happen after that point. I have purchased many vehicles in my life and I rarely ever have a pleasant buying experience. It is usually pressured, taking hours if not days, lots of arguing, etc. After a few minutes, Ahmed called back and stated, done! They were agreeing to the offer, I was somewhat shocked. There was zero pressure, they simply stated, we will meet those numbers, if you would like to move further, please let us know. I texted a bit later and let Ahmed know I wanted to come and take a look at the vehicle. It was awaiting at the front door, backed in and ready to drove off looking like a black diamond. They let me take it out by myself (some dealers will still ride with you), I went for a long drive and came back and signed the papers and took it home. Everyone at the dealership were the nicest people I have met in awhile, the experience was exceptional, quick and overall very pleasant. The vehicle was in perfect condition, everything that should be included was exactly where it needed to be (this is not the case with other dealers). I even checked the tire pressure the following day and all 4 tires had exactly the correct pressure, I have never had that to happen, EVER! That speaks to the detail of taking delivery and prepping the vehicles for customers. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would HIGHLY recommend this dealership and Ahmed. I trade often and most likely will see them again, perhaps, for an Arteon. Oh, btw, 2021 has wireless Apple CarPlay, 2020 does not, therefore, no matter how BIG the discount, it was always going to be a 2021 model, THANK YOU University VW!!!
First time ever took my car in for service and a very annoying steering wheel that was shaking when driving over 65 mph. I paid hundreds of dollars to another VW dealer and never got that fixed. These guys fixed it right away! Such a relief! Now, if only I can get the other guys to refund my money for the alignment that wasnt done... Fat chance
Purchased a certified pre-owned Jetta TDI last year. Awesome experience and felt as if I had gotten great value for the money spent. A few months into ownership (less than 2K miles since purchase) I started having a major issue with the brakes. Took it into the dealership and apparently the rotors were completely worn - as if the they hadnt been replaced in far too long. The odd thing was the brakes were still brand new. So, whoever worked on this aspect of the certification process clearly cut corners. I ended up having to spend $580 out of pocket on new brakes and rotors because of this. I was in contact with my salesperson who was floating a reimbursement up the ladder, then I was ghosted. No contact ever since. Brian, I will happily change this rating to 5-stars if youll reach out and help me get this resolved.
If you are buying from out of state from these people plan on doing their homework for them, because if you don’t you might drive 5 hours(one way) all to be told that they sold the car already! (After you already verified the vehicle was available and received a emailed proposal.) It was especially disappointing to find out they had known for hours and didn’t feel the need to let us know while we remained in contact on the way there. Sales manager was very unprofessional and didn’t make any effort to make us feel better about their mistake.
This is my second vehicle from University VW. I leased a Jetta in 2013 and had a wonderful experience. When I needed a new vehicle they were the first place I looked, and they had great deals for the outgoing 2020 models. Stephanie was incredibly helpful and a great communicator. She made the process very simple and all the numbers were as she quoted. She was also knowledgeable regarding some questions I had regarding several functions on the car. I’ve purchased many cars in my life and I have to say this experience was the best. My lease was coming up and I had that gut feeling of having to sit in a dealership for 6+ hours negotiating. This time I decided to contact dealers online, I immediately had a response from Chris Dalke. I told him I was looking for a 2017 Golf Gti (figured better pricing). He responded with a price on a 2018, accompanied by an awesome bumper-to-bumper warranty. I was still skeptical so I contacted another dealership sharing the offer letter and sticker, their response “we can’t beat this price, you got a good deal”. This not only made me feel like I was getting a deal but also taken care of.I’m not one that writes a lot of review however, I wanted to give a shout out to University VW, and their staff.
It was great. I was been volkswagen kirkland, to get my first used car without credit, and they got a quote with 14% APR for finance but here i got 4%. John is really kind person Ive met in US. So I could get a nice Tiguan as my first car. One thing I feel awkward is I couldnt get a spare key so I went a service center right next to here and I paid $80 for that. But still, not bad. Ill go here again if I change my car.

We recently purchased a second vehicle from University VW and are very happy with both the service and our new Atlas! We do not live close to their dealership but came back because how our first purchase went. Our salesman Ahmed Guyo handled everything so well, took us to the parts department to get what we wanted, we bought a certified used vehicle, and was kind enough to let our oldest sit in the GTI on display. Thank you, we will be beck when we are looking for another vehicle. Its been 8 years since our last purchase, but were glad we came back to University VW!

Since this is the last year of the Alltrack it’s been harder to find the one you really want. I finally found the one I want at university vw and Chandler Reed helped me. I thought the sales experience was fairly straightforward and easy, and the salesperson seemed knowledgeable about the vehicles. But I have to take a star off because I plunked down cash for two cars and never once heard from them again - no how do you like your cars, no we hope your experience was fantastic, nothing. I felt more love from the service department guy when I took one of the cars in for service.They could certainly work on their after sales manner.
5 stars for the outstanding customer service and salesmanship from Ahmed. Even months after my purchase, having troubles dealing with other dealerships, Ahmed has been willing to listen and offer his advice to address my outside issues. Will be coming back when I upgrade to Audi!!
Had been shopping the VW Alltrack for about 6 months when one turned up at University Volkswagen in my price range. Made an appointment with the sales office and ended up with John Lillig. He was great! Laidback, easy to talk to, no pressure type salesman. Negotiated the sale and drove away with a new car in about 3 hours. Would definitely work with him again.
I worked with Ryan Thompson on checking out a couple potential cars for my family. I ended up going with another offer elsewhere, but I had a great experience with these guys. Very understanding and accommodating and zero pressure. They even fixed a small mechanical issue we noticed on a test drive, at my request. Recommended.
All Excellent:There was some additional delay in ordering/receiving parts and therefore had to keep my vehicle with VW service for few days instead of same day pickup which can be improved.
On Sunday there was a Subaru Forester posted on UVWs website. I emailed them. No response the next day so I called. Chris said the car was available to look at. When we arrived, he passed us off to Christy. Christy was nice but didnt know much about the car. We took it for a test drive. During the drive a bunch of sensors lit up on the dash and the safety features turned off. We asked them to have their mechanics look at it and get back to us because we were still interested in buying it. No call from Christy that day or the next. I texted Chris on Tuesday, no response. I texted again today and he informed me that it was sold. So if you bought a 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium PZEV, VIN: JF2SJAGC2FH577717 in the past two days, I hope Chris and Christy disclosed all the problems with it. I wouldnt do business here. As I said Christy was nice but Chris had an attitude from the get-go and seem disinterested in doing his job.

The whole process was easy, straightforward, and enjoyable.We always get a buyer’s check from our own mechanic but didn’t feel the need to under the circumstances. It was clear the dealership maintains their excellent reputation by only selling high-quality vehicles. We love our car!
University VW service department is top notch. They treat my car with TLC and its always washed and vacuumed when I pick it up. Their prices are in line and they make checking my car in easy and convenient.
Ive been a customer of University Volkswagen for 11 or 12 (?) years. Our family has leased maybe 7 or 8 (?) cars during that time. We are always treated well. We have been loyal and they have been loyal. Its nice to be treated well, always.

Ahmed Guyo was our sales representative and he is absolutely outstanding: he has deep product knowledge regarding the various models, is an excellent communicator, following up on any and all questions, besides which he is a really nice guy.With the car purchased, I cant say enough good things about the University Volkswagen Service team--not that the car had any problems, but the scheduled services are done quickly and efficiently, all in a super-friendly atmosphere. Everyone there seems to love what they are doing.Finally, dont leave without having a cup of their coffee: some of the best in Seattle, and thats saying something!

I just recently bought an Audi from here. The salesperson (To’atolu) was very helpful. There wasn’t any of the pressure that most places use to make sales. They got me an awesome vehicle for a great price and got me a super low interest rate. I would absolutely recommend this dealership to anybody interested in a new vehicle!!!
I have been here twice for service. The first time was great and the second not as much. Specifically when I went to pay. There was a girl at the payment counter who just kind of sneered at me when I looked at her. I had been sitting in one of the chairs waiting for help because I saw that my car was ready to go. I had to approach the guy sitting next to her to ask if I could pay for my car. Next time please ask the person looking at you if theyve been helped/need help. Dont sneer.Update: after I posted the review above the manager reached out to apologize and ask if there was anything he could do. I thanked him and took my vehicle in again for a 60k service. The service was top notch and Ive added the 5th star.Thanks University Volkswagen service. You rock!

Had an exceptional buying experience on the Volkswagen side. Dealt with Graham S. the salesman and he went out of his way to ensure that all my questions were addressed. He made sure that the car was ready for viewing and all the documents were fully explained. No haggling as the car was priced as good as can be, that is a testament to the dealership and their priorities. Financing was equally as smooth. I explained to Wayne that I wasnt interested in any other products and he did not force the issue. Instead he made sure I was financed EXACTLY as I needed it. By far best time purchasing a car. Ill be coming back in the future and strongly recommend that they be visited if you are shopping.

Service department. Professionals... doesn’t work there . Didn’t find troubles I asked but charged me money - much more than said of going to. That guys tried to charge me for stuff don’t need to be replaced. It’s good to be engineer and understand how systems works!!!
We have had nothing but stellar service at University Volkswagon, in the sales or service department.We have purchased 2 Passats inthe past 6 years and haven’t had anything but a great experience. Their staff is absolutely courteous and very knowledgeable.
4 leases here and great service each time except for the last one. My first 3 leases, I never had fees after returning the car, but my last lease had two fees come out of nowhere (despite returning with under 15k miles and perfect condition) and the excuses from them is they have no control over it. Unfortunately, they did have control in the past, so their abilities or honesty has degraded since my first lease with them. My loyalty to them was misplaced; a mistake I wont make again. Plenty of alternatives out there and will be exploring them. They lost me as a customer.

As a rule I don’t like salespeople. I never know if their intentions are authentic. And used car salespeople are held in my highest suspicion. I don’t buy enough cars to really know what I want or what I’m getting, so I rely on KBB and NADA.But I left UVW feeling like I had made a new friend in Charlie. He wasn’t our schedule appointment, but took over and showed us the van we had selected. A magnanimous tour guide, delightful to talk with, and has such a fascinating back story that we all wanted to head out for waffles just to keep the conversation going.When it can time to talk numbers he was apologetic, but unyielding. The van was priced where it was and there was no budge. So we left. But couldn’t stop thinking about the van and our time with Charlie. Taking the details through the KBB and NADA filters, it became more apparent why he wouldn’t budge.Long story short, he sold us the perfect van for my family for $2000 less than fair market value. Our out the door cost was nearly spot on for what he could have started at asking. He even threw in a couple bonuses that he asked us not to mention and the finance department rounded all of their costs down to the nearest hundred.All in all, I almost want to need another car just so I can spend another afternoon driving around with Charlie, knowing that he’ll help us find the best car at the best price with an experience that creates memories worth sharing.
University VW - and Christina on the service advisor team - came to my rescue when my 2018 Tiguan needed a new fuel line when we rolled into town after a 3500 mile trip. I was already planning to have an outstanding recall done and my 10000 mile service done here - both were done promptly and I thoroughly enjoyed the video recap from the service technician.If I could give 4.7 stars I absolutely would - the only thing that keeps it from being a straight five in my mind was the continued time extension while waiting for a part. The recall and service were performed but I paid for a rental car for the better part of a week while waiting for the fuel line to arrive (obviously nothing the team could do about the part not being there) and the expectation would change from something which would be done that day to maybe the end of the week to maybe through the weekend. Fortunately, Christina worked with me and helped me get on a loaner list and let me drive my car while we continued to wait for the part. When I dropped the car off again the next week the part still wasnt in but at least I wasnt paying for the rental car.All in all, the team seems to have done everything they could given the circumstances but timing and expectations could have been a bit smoother. All told, Im extremely happy with my experience and would absolutely go back if we are back in the area.P.S. Thanks for washing 3500 miles worth of bugs off my pretty little car. :)
Went to have my car serviced here and I was blown away with the level of friendly service. I took my kids and we had a blast waiting on the car to be finished. I highly recommend thier service department. They are very through and thoughtful.

Service is a 5... They arent cheap, but they are good and the do have exceptional customer service. I did buy the car at this dealership too, AK was an exceptional salesperson. The business folks could use some help with coming to the 21 century as far as not deferring to the men, as one reviewer mentioned, but I simply pointed out my problem with it and they were very open to feedback. Sales and service never had an issue at all. My previous car was purchased and maintained at University Audi, which is also exceptional. Ive been a customer since 2002, and still think they are 5.
I went in yesterday to do a test drive and Ryan in sales is the absolute best! He really went to bat for me and did his best to get me a great deal. I really appreciated the time and effort he invested. University is the best VW dealership in western WA. Time and again they have given me a great experience. Check em out!
Alex Leonard was the sales rep who is working with my husband and I. He is legit. Hes spent a lot of time with me, knowing that I may not purchase the Beetle. (We have three other makes on our radar and MANY considerations before were ready to lay the money down.) He has already taken more than a couple hours just answering questions and helping me/us make our final decision.
Always pleasant and efficient. Great people all the way around. I might give them 5 stars if theyd just put some real dairy with their free coffee. Non dairy creamer? Really?
We had a great experience. The staff, Charlie Morse, wasnt pushy or tried to sell us stuff that we didnt want or need. We got the car we were looking for and were taken care of throughout the process.
Service staff is good, but sadly I see them a little too often as my Volkswagen seems to have so many issues even though its still new and under lease. I will never again pay full price for a brand new car, its so over inflated and absolutely not worth it! I love how my Jetta runs as it has a strong engine but so many other things in the car are rather cheaply-made comparatively.
Charlie was great and very knowledgeable. I never felt a pressured sales pitch. Just helpful information and clear answers to my questions.
Great service. Not cheap but they do a good job and the waiting room is great. Good coffee for free, along with snacks, WiFi, comfortable couches, and clean bathrooms.
I had to have a warranty repair done on a leaking Alltrack. While a bummer the sunroof was leaking, the entire service team was awesome; very professional, kept me updated on the status the entire way, diagnosed and fixed the problem, and did a great job of putting the car back together so that its still rattle and squeak-free. While my review is based on the service dept, the overall vibe from the entire operation was very positive, and I wouldnt hesitate to go there for sales or service.Im generally suspicious of all dealers and try to avoid them, but this place is top notch.
Brian Kelly and Becky Simons of University VW were great. They are real people, friendly, reasonable, and knowledgeable, and they we’re super-focused on making sure we were happy with our purchase and our experience. I highly recommend them, especially if you’re looking for a Golf R. They were just terrific.
I took my car in for some recall work that I had heard horror stories about getting fixed. They were very nice about getting it done and even mentioned another recall that they were going to fix for me. They even offered me refreshments when I got there and a loaner car or shuttle to take me home (since my car was going to have to stay over night). When I got my car back: it had been washed (not super well, but it was clean and it was free), it had been detailed inside, and the extra work I had them do was cheaper than they quoted me. Overall, I am very impressed.
Staff was friendly and did a good job of answering all our questions. They made check-in and pick-up very easy.
The staff members here were great! Very customer service oriented and they are willing to work with you to get the best possible deal. I went to other dealers even another VW dealer in the area, but the folks at University VW were exceptional. Both T and Ahmed were great! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
The saving grace at University Volkswagen is their service reps, in particular Matthew.Went in for 20K service, recall work, and some accessory installation - left with a cracked windshield that their service rep promptly addressed.Apparently these are common - but I did find it mind boggling that they couldnt see the crack that spanned a full hand+ in length on the driver side. Everything else went relatively smooth and while there was a bit of a wait, as theyre usually busy, Matthew kept me updated and made sure I was set.
The service department is top notch as always. Ive been going here for years now and always have a pleasant experience.

Everyone is super helpful and nice. Especially Maribel at the service desk. However, the staff that does the complimentary washing and vacuuming could use some help in learning how to vacuum... shaking out the mats and brushing the seats off onto the floor doesnt cut it. But they were super nice and gave me a voucher for a free car wash and also said I could come in anytime for a vacuum and wash. So except for the lack of vacuuming, University Volkswagen is a great place to go!!!
Phenomenal customer service! Came in for the second time on 12/11/2017 to get some updated bolts put on and I decided to wait till it was done. Little did I know that after I had gotten back my car they washed it real quick and vaccumed it and cleaned it up a bit. HUGE PLUS!! THANK YOU GUYS!!
