The most professional auto repair experience and the service was beyond expectations. Although I live in North Idaho. Taking my Saab to these guys in Seattle was worth the time, money, and effort. My gf was having issues with her transmission slipping in her 2012 Subaru Impreza. I did some quick research and found the valve body in the transmission is a common failure for Subaru CVT transmission so much so that there is a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty issued from Subaru. I call Subaru of NA and they said it needed to be diagnosed. I brought the car to scan west based on the reviews just to confirm. I asked if they had the proper Subaru software to perform the diagnosis and they said yes. When we went to get the car we were told all they did was drain the transmission, found metal in the fluid, and said it needed a new transmission. I ended up then taking it to a Subaru dealer ship who confirmed it was the valve body failure so I could move forward with the warranty claim. It didn’t cost much for the inspection from scan west but I’m disappointed based on their reviews and their self proclaimed expertise in subarus that they couldn’t even diagnose a very simple common failure and recommend I spend thousands of dollars relaxing a transmission instead of the much cheaper valve body replacement. I think these guys will be good if you know what repair you need to have done. But if you need something diagnosed just better to take it to the dealer. Never thought I’d say that but it seems to be the case. Judging from the amount of Saab’s in the shop compared to subarus I’d say these guys seem more like Saab experts than Subaru anyway. Ymmv.

Took my new (to me) 900 convertible in for an oil change after some Instagram friends I found through #saab900 referred me here. Awesome experience, they were extraordinarily professional and listed exactly what was next to maintain on my car before I take a big road trip. These guys are the real deal-- took my Saabs there for years. Ive since switched to BMWs and had a really weird problem with my X5 that they stuck with until they found the problem-- rodent damage! The kind of problem that could bankrupt you with diagnostic labor and experimental parts being replaced, but instead they totally undercharged me for the time spent and ultimately got it fixed with no parts replaced! This was the kind of problem where you really have the trust the shop and they really came through. Rob and team are awesome-- customer for life here!

Bought my 1998 Saab 900 turbo which had leaks, engine issues and I also crashed it they transformed my car from looking like something that youd find for like 300 dollars on Craigslist into my glorious Saab 900 that I have today.I would recommend them to anyone who owns a Saab. Great shop. Well worth driving up from Tacoma! They found a part for our Saab that no one else in the Seattle/Tacoma area could. Turned out my problem was mis-diagnosed by another shop. They found the real problem and didn’t charge me for the part I had asked them to order because it wasn’t needed. They got to my car and fixed it right away, the price for their work was very reasonable and they were friendly.

Craig went above and beyond to give me records of a car Im thinking of buying because their shop did most of the cars maintenance. He really helped me make sense of the cars history and gave me good advice on what I can expect from the car. Not something I have experienced before. 10 plus years in retail. I took my 2005 SAAB Aero 9-2X in for an oil change and to get a spare key cut. They also noticed that I had a partially burnt out headlight and fixed that too!The work was done quickly and the price was extremely reasonable. I have an older, curmudgeon of a car, that I plan on driving until it dies or is no longer worth fixing, and the biggest decision is always whether or not it’s worth the money. Having a team that you can trust when you ask questions like, “is it going to strand me?” Or “will this really fix it?” Or “Would you let your daughter ride in my car with me? “ And having them answer honestly, “Well, you don’t need to do these other two things but you should definitely consider X“. I believe they are trustworthy, they take the time to explain things in a way that is easily understood, and they will work with you at whatever level of repair you are needing. They don’t try and oversell you for things that could be argued to be unnecessary routines. All of the work I have agreed to have them do, was done quickly, professionally and without any recurrence. I recommend them highly!

After dropping my wife off at the airport to go visit her mother I called Scanwest, the caretaker of our Saab 93. Could they get our car repaired (replace front brakes and a headlight) that same day or the next? Not only could they get the job scheduled in at 3 p.m. same day, they had most parts in stock. Great service at a reasonable price that got done in less than two hours on short notice. Theres a reason we come back here as needed.

Was impressed to see, after having been away for 12 years, that many of the same staff here then are still here. That says volumes about the integrity and atmosphere in this shop. A happy mechanic will do a better job and, in my experience, this is the most trustworthy and competent shop i have ever dealt with (4 saabs over the years). They are also a major Subaru shop and also doing Volvo, BMW, Audi. Highly recommended.

Moved back to Alaska where there is little to no Saab repair shops. I do most of my own work anyway, but broke my transmission on my 02 9-5 Aero wagon. Called these guys up and they helped me find a NEW transmission and had it freigted to Alaska. Prices where spot on where they should be.I have not had this type of help from a shop in a long time.Only negitive is that it sometimes took a while to get a response, but I am sure they are very busy and being up in Alaska, I understand being a lower priority. Still, despite that, 5 stars for sure

Id been chasing a ghost in my 2002 Saab 9-3 when it decided to stall while driving down Greenwood Ave, directly across the street from ScanWest. After tinkering with it myself for a bit, the owner of ScanWest--Rob-- walked over to see what what was going on- within 15 minutes the problem was diagnosed, the direct ignition cassette was replaced, and I was out the door with a running Saab! They gave me a great price for the part and labor, and were very straight forward about the necessity(in this case, the lack thereof) of getting other potential issues fixed and their cost. Awesome service, great value, cant more highly recommend the shop.

I first heard of Scanwest nearly 20 years ago when I was building a performance SAAB. Scanwest was the US representative for Abbott Racing components at the time, and had earned their stellar reputation as the Saab USA Rally team. Their enthusiasm for my project was sincere and I learned a lot working with them remotely from New England. A decade later I move to the Seattle area and was delighted to continue to work with Scawest to maintain my Saab automobiles. 6 years ago I purchased a high mileage Saab with confidence seeing that every single service on the car was done by Scanwest. Now I literally drive a 27 year old, 260+ mile car thats been exclusively maintained by Scanwest its entire life. Theres never any guessing with Scanwest. The job is always done right.

What a great surprise to find such helpful and knowledgeable mechanics right around the corner! I looked up Mechanics for Mini Cooper Near Me, and gave them a call from the list. I spoke to Seth on the phone who told me I could drop by anytime to have my headlight bulbs replaced, so I did. Rob helped me, and asked me -since my bulbs werent burnt out- if it could be something else? He would check and make sure it wasnt a foggy cover or maybe another issue. He replaced the bulbs, and asked me to give my opinion on the brightness. When we both agreed we saw no improvement, he ordered bulbs that were whiter output and told me theyd be in the next day. Before I left, he told off my oil, checked my coolant, and charged me nothing. When I came back the next day, they reset my oil service notification on my cars computer, switched out my headlight bulbs, and had me approve the difference - all within 10 minutes! I am so impressed, I will definitely be back for all my oil changes and any services I might need down the road. A huge thank you to the whole Scanwest team for all of their help!

I have 3 Saabs that my wife and I really enjoy. We reside in Spokane. With no reliable source for the technical aspects of Saab maintenance there, I brought one of our cars to Scanwest for repair. The shop is knowledgeable and accommodating. Craig and Albert are professional and pleasant to work with. Their loaner program is especially attractive to me. A 5 hour drive to the shop is not convenient but Scanwest takes a lot of the pain out of making the trip. Thank you!

I needed a side view mirror replaced and Scanwest Autosport had the mirror in stock and replaced it while I waited. The cost was much cheaper than buying it from an auto parts store and the service was impeccable!

Arrived on their doorstep from out of town with a need to have my central windshield washer valve replaced. Took the car in immediately. Finished the repair in twenty minutes; including replacing clips on my hood blanket., out the door for $33 bucks. $13 of which was labor. Miraculous. Very friendly, took home one cool pen and two license plate frames for free. Made my day. Don’t hesitate if you have a problem with your Saab.

Scanwest solves those esoteric Saab issues that no other shop in Seattle can, and they do so without breaking the bank. It helps that they are a true Saab specialist (all years, makes and models) as that’s the only brand they service.

Possibly the best mechanic shop experience I ever had. They called me promptly, had my car fixed in less than 24 hours, and spent a lot of time talking me through the various things it needed. I do some mechanical work myself and they were happy to tell me about the things that I could do myself, even if it meant I wouldnt be paying them to do it. Id go back here every time if possible.

I brought Scanwest an ‘85 Saab 900 Turbo that I rescued from a lot in Arkansas back in 2013. It sat around in central Missouri for six years, with various shops trying and failing to get it into drivable condition.After returning to Washington State, I turned it over to Rob and Craig and the rest of the people at Scanwest, and about three weeks later, it’s running like a dream. They put a ton of work in — they got the engine running great, they took care of a bunch of odds and ends ranging from replacing the entire headliner to fixing the power locks, and they installed a stereo I brought them so I could have CarPlay functionality in my 35-year-old car. The list is long, these are just a few highlights.Long story short, I now have a reliable and highly enjoyable daily driver, and I’ve been rescued from the fate of buying a boring Chevrolet Spark. They kept in contact with me every step of the way, letting me know what they were doing and why they were making the decisions they were making. And they clearly took pleasure and pride in getting the old girl back on the road.I hope I don’t have to see them often, but should the occasion arise that my car needs more work, I won’t take it anywhere else.

500 mile engine rebuild check up and windshield washer motor replacement. The rebuilt engine is getting much better gas mileage than before, very happy with the service here!

These guys are top notch professionals. That being said, I’m sad that when I brought them a used 9.3 for a new buyer inspection they recommended i buy it and now 2 years later I’ve spent nearly $7000 in repairs just to keep it running.
