This place is fabulous. I wish it was a few dollars less, but also, you totally get what you pay for. Theres an art docent, and toys and supplies and its so fun. I only wish it was cheaper so we could come more frequently, totally worth it though. The kids started in the toy area and eventually warmed up to the paint area and then went nuts with all the painting and drawing on the floor. So fun. Well be utilizing our punch card for sure!!!

After living in Seattle for years I just found out about this place. I found out about it through Ballard Reuse. It was so awesome! The store is small and full but amazingly organized for how many things they have. Prices are really fair, staff seemed happy and helpful. The range of supplies is vast but quality seemed great across the board. I am going to be back again and again, its going to be my first stop before going to major craft stores.

My kids got gift certificates from a family member for this place. Great concept but things were poorly executed. Little one went upstairs with her Grandpa and older son looked around the store for materials. Once he was done he headed to the space in the back to create. The workers helped us get set up only to have a very rude teacher of some sort come and kick us out. I checked the calendar for the space before heading there to make sure both kids could enjoy their time. Nothing about a class on the calendar and the workers helped us get set up so they obviously didnt know about the class either. But the instructor felt it was his space and felt okay kicking out a 10-year old kid being creative rather than share the space. Plus then we just had to sit in the store waiting for his sister to finish up. She still left early meaning we paid $12 for about 30 minutes without being offered any refund for their scheduling mistake. Like the concept not the execution.

Weekday open play/paint was kind of a bummer. I appreciate the recycle/reuse mission, but my kid was definitely not on board with one paint color to choose from or very comfortable with the overall setup. The play/paint space is an upstairs loft area about the size of a small bedroom, packed wall to wall with reusables and odd toys and books but with no sink. Awkward arrangement with good intentions I suppose.

Coolest place ever. Second hand art supplies for pretty much any craft. Great for people who do collage because they always have cool old books, magazines, maps and more. Most importantly, I appreciate the stores penchant for recycling and I certainly appreciate those who in turn support the store and keep it in business. If you are a local and in need of some random craft supplies, this is a great place to go.I am not a local. Instead I went out of my way to visit this shop. Being an avid thrift store shopper, including the famous Goodwill outlets, I doubt Ill return to this store. Personally, I was expecting higher quality, albeit used, art supplies. No such luck. Yes they did have some used Golden mediums, but the price was so high Id rather pay a bit more and get a full new bottle. Again, maybe I was being unrealistic hoping to find a quality Copic marker or a quality watercolor pencil.... And honestly upon opening the file cabinet marked markers and seeing a huge jumble of what looked like cheap Crayola and Rose Art markers, I didnt look too hard. Im sure buried treasures can be found. If you need a green button, this is the place to go. If you need a handful of nails or pen caps or random scrapbook paper, again, this is the place to go. Especially if you are within walking distance and dont have easy access to anywhere else. As for me, I will stick with my beloved, and closer, thrift stores.

As a hoarder in training, this is a place that allows me to donate things I know someone will love instead of keeping it until I have time for it.Also the perfect place to visit if your kids is exploring new interests. The local community donates items for craft reuse, Seattle ReCreative sells it nominal price. The store is very well organized for array of items that they have. Youll find everything from art books and paint to scrap fabrics and film canisters. The first time I popped in to look around, I spent an hour and half inside and walked out with a whole bag of art and sewing supplies for under $16. Best deal in town. There is a family participation area with staff assistance, where kids can go and be create and explore. This store is truly serving the community. Parking best found on the street.

Some nicer/more premium used tools and supplies, too. Proceeds go to kids art classes.Great store to find that brush or tool you need for a project that you KNOW should only cost $1-2, but big box stores want $4.99 for.
