Returning from a camping trip my SUV started to have issues. I stopped at 2 other places being told they were busy before heading to CarX. I called and Jason said bring it in and they would try to get me back on the road. Jason and Jim both worked to diagnose my issues, came up with a plan to fix my SUV and got me back on the road.

Horrible service i went there for change oil and change brake pads, so mechanic broke my caliper and they keep my car for 6 days young mechanic so bad don’t let him touch your car everything what he can do that’s change oil probably he came to Car X from portillos also Darren so bad lier so when i pick up my car they said my car good to go, when i check my car my all lights was on emissions problem, brake problem everything so they even don’t how to do re-software so they send me to honda so i spend one more day cool right? Never gonna back to this horrible location but want to say thanks to manager Joe the one guy who how to do it his job!

It was great the customer service was great they let me know what I needled and gave me a estimate before everything was done.

They used to be good but now they just try to rob you. I went in as my Honda ABS lights were on. They asked me to replace the sensors and was billed $660 and the worst part was the abs lights were still on after the work was done. They later said that it’s a new error code and I should replace my control unit which would cost me another $1500.I went to the Honda dealer to get the quote for the same work and they quoted somewhere around $450 for the same work Car-X did. You can imagine how they fool you and charge you more than the dealer itself.I was recommended J1 Automotive in Lombard and they diagnosed the issue to be completely different. My control unit was good and they just checked the wiring and replaced the damaged wheel bearing which resolved all the issues. The worst part was Car-X didn’t even bother to check other issues and was just eager to charge you knowing very well customers don’t know much about cars.Car-X is good for a quick oil change but anything else I highly recommend to go someplace else.

I had used them many times and the staff & service was always great. Recently however after a routine oil change and brake replacement I made them aware within a short hour after leaving that something was amiss and wrong with my car noticing something was off. It was suggested their tech had 30 years experience and likely it wasnt anything they had done, I acknowledged that without pointing blame its possible they were responsible and said Id like them to check it out after I leave the office later that day. Once i began the drive home the steering went awol and my engine began smoking terribly. I had to get a tow to a nearby company who found CarX didnt properly tighten the oil gasket screw, I lost 4.5 Quarts of Oil, my engine was a mess and had I driven much longer my engine could have been entirely shot. My lost steering could have caused an accident as well as the oil had gotten over the power steering belts locking it up. They covered the measly $200 bill I paid the other company for cleaning up my engine and adding oil but complained of the amount, never even credited me back for their own work or apologized when they nearly cost themselves a replacement engine on a very expensive vehicle. 2 weeks have nearly past, my engine still smells of the oil mess they were responsible for. Bad business to fail to take care of a customer properly and accept a mistake that cost me time, money and nearly my engine.

I went here for an oil change. After inspecting my car the manager came back and with some others services such as cabin,air filter replacements, tires changes, breaking pads replaced...etc which add up to 1500$. After, I refused the services that he offered. He immediately has an attitude towards me. I took my car to Jiffelube, and told them to check everything that the manger at Car X listed. Came back, everything is fine accept for my tires. Which only cause my 300 at the most. It’s totally a SCAM!!! Don’t listen to anything that they tell you.

I never had problems with car x. Im a store manager for autozone in the city of chicago. I had a job interview in the schaumburg area for another company. I had a flat tire Tuesday I did apologize to Brandon that I came to his shop to late .before I could say anything he tells me that he’s closed his tech is gone for the day and he’s having foot pains that he can’t help me I should be able to go to Midas across the street. So I went to Midas they were just closing but he told me I can leave my bmw there for night had to get 2 new run flats. Hopefully Midas done with my car in the morning . Car x really don’t care about me I guess because I’m Africa America Brandon doesn’t care about me .thanks car x Brandon doesn’t need to hold a title like that he’s not for the people.

The main reason I stay loyal to this particular location is because of Jim, the mechanic. Hes a constant here and I have never felt like I was being taken advantage of here. Hes very friendly and knowledgeable and just a breath of fresh air. This location seems to go through a lot of managers, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Carlos is fairly new as a manager here but he seems to love what he does which is a huge plus when you are dealing with customers. Please keep him! Hes very friendly and helpful and seems like an honest, hard working person.

During this Covid pandemic everywhere you go you need to have an appointment. However I did not make an appointment I drove by and and said hey I’m a try it out. I got right in which was a plus, I got exactly what I needed for new tires in my car rides so smooth. I really appreciate the fact that I am a woman and they did not try to get over on me and sell me anything that I didn’t need and I was actually shocked though very happy.

I took my car in for an oil change and brakes and even though they had to get the parts brought from another location they confirmed they would stay until everything was done and running great. Taken my Jeep and my wifes Jeep many times. Jim the mechanic is AMAZING and is always spot on with finding and fixing issues. He is also VERY fast. Staff behind the desk are great too!!! Is also nice that they they wipe down your keys with wipes before giving them back to you. Services Ive had: new tires, brakes, shocks, and today, radiator replaced. I was treated with diligence and honesty and what I originally thought would be a pricey new transmission turned into a minor fix. I appreciate the extra time and effort put into determining the issue without the exorbitant price that many charge just to find the problem. Their prices and service were better than any auto service center I have been to. Especially the dealer. Their experienced mechanics were very impressive. They had a top technician come in to diagnose a difficult electrical problem with my computerized power windows and didnt even charge me extra for that. I was pleasantly surprised that Nick was willing to installed a strut conversion kit (change from Air Suspension to regular coil and shock) that I procured myself. Many of the car shops I reached out to were not willing to install the conversion kit unless they procured them themselves. I guess they wanted to mark up the strut conversion kit themselves.Nicks price was inline with other car shops that were willing to install the strut conversion kit.I dropped off the car in the morning and by noon it was completed. Super fast.If I ever need anything else done on the car I will definitely be back.Great Job Nick!

Oil changes are $18 PLUS a labor fee of $7. This is the only place where I can recall that the advertised price did not include the labor fee or was not the total price. I wasnt going to write a review until I figured out that my hood latch that needed to be replaced (~$180) was easily fixed with a bit of WD-40 with my dads help. Unfortunately, this location has lost my trust.

Came in at 4pm on Saturday an hour before closing to have my car inspected for rattling sound. Vince took care of us quickly despite being very packed. He drove the car and found no issues. No charges for a diagnostic either. Highly recommend these guys!

I purchased the 3 pack of oil changes a few months ago and went in last week to use my second of three oil changes. I was told that when I purchased the 3 pack, I should have been given a punch card. I went into my car and got the packet with receipt they gave me when I purchased it and there was no punch card to be found. I told them I did not receive a punch card and they said, “we are pretty good about remembering to give out the punch card, I can do this oil change but that’s it”. So because they forgot to give me a punch card, I am out an oil change. On top of that, the guy said my car “requires” fully synthetic oil, which I know is a lie. He was just trying to up-charge me. He then gave me attitude when I said no and that I am aware it is not required. To be honest I am worried they didn’t even change the oil. I will never go here again; I don’t understand why this place is so highly rated on Google.

For many years now I have been going to Car-X in Schaumburg. They have always taken care of my vehicle needs, and have provided the best service and the best price. I never ago anywhere else. The manager Carlos is extremely helpful and informative, and has always taken care of everything in an accurate and timely manner! I would recommend them to anyone!

Came in for the 29.99 A/C check. I come to pay it shows a 39.99 bill. I came back week later after manger said he would complimentary check it. I asked and why I got charged 40 instead of the $30An he said “its just to get you in the door” an “it’s sales bud” how unprofessional and lies. Do not go here and spend your hard earn money go to local shop where you can make relationships with your mechanic! Not lied too!

Car X did a quick oil change for me and I received a complete inspection. They found that my back brake pads were at the end of their life, so i was able to replace the pads before it would require the rotors be replaced also. this was a $200 savings.i went back and got a set of new tires a few weeks later. Great deal, and nice people to work with.

I talked with Carlos on the phone about checking out the muffler on my car. Let me know to bring it in and they would give me a free estimate. Came in and within 15 minutes they had an answer and estimate for the repair. They were able to start the repair right away. I didn’t spend more than an hour there. Will be a future customer.

Very Helpful.ENDThe people here got my Toyota Avalon running as good as new.They performed a ton of work on my car and was able to get it back to me before closing, so i had my car to drive to work the next morning.Bill especially, was knowledgeable. He helped me select the right tires for my car and the weather conditions around here. He actually advised me to buy a less expensive tire! He is personable, attentive, kind and listens and doesnt rush you. I walked in on a Tuesdsy afternoon...I have a 2016 Infiniti QX50..I told him I needed new brakes, and all my 30,000 mile services. I had a print out from the Infiniti dealer down the road. I started to rattle off all the services I needed...replace air filter, Carx price $24, Infiniti dealer price $65, automatic transmission fluid exchange, carx price $149, Infiniti dealer price $276, power steering fluid renewal service, Carx price $89, Infiniti dealer price $166, brake system fluid renewal service, Carx price $89, Infiniti dealer $174, fuel injection service, Carx price $109, infiniti dealer price $194, replace cabin hepa filter, Carx price $30, infiniti dealer price (you wont believe this one) $120, if thats not price gouging I dont know what is! Shame on you Infiniti dealer. Carl then estimated a price for me with tax and labor...made an appointment for me for the next day, Wednesday at 9 am...by 12:30 pm on Wednesday the car was finished, and my bill was only a $1.48 more than the estimate Carl had given me the previous day. WOW!!!!! When all was said and done I saved close to $700 by not going to the dealer. The gentleman who worked on my car has been at that location for 23 years...six days a week...he was ready for my car...knew what needed to get done and meticulously did a perfect job!! Thank you Sir!!The car drives like it is new! You have a customer for life..anything my car needs will be handled by Carx!Thank you so much for everything! I went in last week for an oil change. Im often leery going into shops, fearing a thousand dollars worth of work that shows up on a free 30-point safety inspection.Carlos and Jimmy were G-R-E-A-T! Gotta love the kind of people who can build trust by excelling in even the most basic of customer service interactions. Carlos is warm, he smiles, he listens well. Jimmy is funny, doesnt ramble, and his hands are covered in hard work! Its hard to trust a repairman who only has grease up to his fingernails. You know Jim thoroughly assessed your vehicle.They showed me exactly their concerns, gave me time to comparison shop anything I might need and showed genuine care in helping to keep my car running well. Its a 96 Accord with 178K miles on it, but it runs really well, so Im always willing to at least hear a technicians recommendations to keep it that way.This is the kind of auto shop that will tell you concerns, give a good ballpark estimate AND tell you how long you could hold off before it becomes a real problem. I appreciate that because when I go in for a $22 oil change, the last thing I want to think about is a repair budget!My tires were bald and my battery was 7 years old and it often choked during cold weather starts. So, I was more than happy to take their advice on those items. They informed me that the 2 prior shops (tires; shocks) didnt do any tire balancing and it showed, both in the wear pattern and in everyday driving.Finally, I just had hand surgery, so I wasnt in the mood to drop any unnecessary coin (Ive spent plenty on repairs this month). Carlos was empathetic and took some off the bill for me. Not many people are willing to do that, but these guys took their customer satisfaction personally.Great service and pricing... Ill be back!

Apart from their exceptional service at this location their customer service and treatment towards people was just A breath of fresh air. My tire blew out while driving on the expressway. I was stranded for two hours waiting for help. when the tow truck finally arrived he contacted Discount tire directly behind Car X. Discount tire assured me that if my car was towed to them they could remove my tire and rim and replace it with my spare. After waiting over an hour for them to service me I was told that this cannot happen. Not only was Discount tire not able to put on the spare but they were unable to take off the tire because the lug nut was stripped and broke during the process of taking it off.I sought out help from this car X location. They went over and beyond to help me. They got me up and running and cost was $0. Even when I offered to give a donation they only asked that I stop by and write a honest review. I have never been the damsel in distress tight but I was this day and I am thankful that they are the knights in shining armor type. They have just gained a faithful customer.

I am a single woman and received excellent service on my Jeep at this location. Everyone was so nice to me and answered all my questions. I feel I got a great deal on my winter maintenance. They even followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied and had no additional questions! This is my place from now on.

Careful of prices!! Always have been happy with their work and prices EXCEPT this last one $783 for a radiator on a 1999 Honda Accord ARE YOU INSANE!! The brakes and gas lines were less!!! A radiator job is apx 1 hour. I bought the radiator for $115.00 one shop wanted $144. to install it. My husband did the job. But even if the other shop did it I would of paid $255.00!!! I had them do the front brakes and gas lines it was $662. with a $50 rebate on the brakes.

All the 5 star reviews are fake. Went a few weeks ago with a problem with my flat tire. The person working there tells me that all 4 tires need to be replaced when I only had a problem with one of them. Car isnt even worth the price he asked for the tires. Did not let me go in the garage to see the car, I was worried they may damage it and they did. Then, I told him to put air in the car and he says he will and right away brings the car outside without putting air. Also, I came home with tire pressure much lower than I came in with and my tire was essentially sunk. I think they purposefully put a nail in the tire so I lost air in the tire and now have another problem to fix. I came in to get my tire fixed but left with it in a worse condition than I came in with, even though I didnt even do any repairs. I would ignore all the positive reviews as they are all fake, as a first time customer, I would never go back to this place and I warn you as well. Its one thing to just get a price but the fact that I left with another problem is much worse. These people dont care about helping you fix your car, they will make problems in your car so you can pay them to fix it even if you bring them a perfectly normal car.Response to the owner: no this was the place I came to and of course you wont have any records of me since I actually didnt do any business/repair or bought anything. You still have not answered my complaints. I was not allowed to go in the garage while my car was there. How could I know what you guys did or any damages? Your employee told me he will fill up my car with air and didnt and basically lied then and brought it out right away. My tire was perfectly normal and I had been riding it for months without a problem and as soon as I get home which is 5 mins away, the tire has sunk and is flat. Do you think its a coincidence or one of your technician purposefully put a nail in it so they can have me pay to fix it. Also, I have a very old beater car and it really isnt worth that much at all so yes the prices of the tire were too high. All I know is I wont be coming back here with the experience I had the first time.Also, I was also lied to about my tires needing replacement. This was once again to sell me tired when they were perfectly normal

I have always received a high quality service and friendly greetings but this time was way different experience just due to a new manager Sam who has made this place even more comfortable for costumers. Besides his technical skills I fell in love with his personal traits and the way he greets, treats and makes a deal with costumers. Meet him and his shop before he is gone . I strongly recommend him.

Have been coming here for several years. Have come to really trust Jim F, a technician. Hes really knowledgeable and will always give you honest, accurate advice. Have also met Sal, the manager, and he seems to value great customer service and satisfaction. I would not go anywhere else to have my car routinely maintained and repaired.

Im a little late but this place helped me out fast and was so helpful to me.Quick oil change and great package on the oil change. I was in and out, and now me and my Jeep liberty are safe on the road once again.Im very satisfied

This was my first visit to CarX and I am quite pleased with the way they inspected my car (an old one!) and let me know exactly what I need to do to keep it in good shape until Im ready to replace it. Excellent service all around. Lots of coupon deals, too. Ill be back!

I had a flat tire and went in to see if there was a leak or if it needed to be replaced. They helped me out super last minute and were extremely friendly. I ended up going back to them due to that experience for an oil change and was in and out with a great price. Highly recommend this place!
