This is a long overdue review, but these guys have deserved a 5-star rating from me for years. I started taking my car to this Midas back in 2017, just for oil changes. Since then I have come back for more oil changes, brakes, tires, and even electrical service. Expectations for service time are well set each time I come. Their manner is professional, and courteous, recommending services as they should, but not ever pushy about it. Love that. They have always clearly explained any concerns that arise and do their best to provide sensible solutions for someone who does not have a great deal of disposable income. They have even allowed me to bring in my own parts for them to install and never gave me any grief over it (although Im sure theyd prefer to sell them to me)! A particular shout out to Matt who has worked with me to lower the price without sacrificing quality on numerous occasions, get me in on short notice, and he really listens to his customers. Treat him well!!! Ive dealt with the owner(s) on a few occasions (have not met the wife yet) and the husband always goes above and beyond to make sure Im taken care of. Personally speaking, it is hard to find honest folks to work on your car without taking you to the cleaners. Somehow this team manages to shine and as long as they are there, Ill keep coming back.

I recently had my brakes done and new tires installed. Work was done quickly and price and timeline were transparent. I had a great experience and Matt followed up with me each time to make sure everything was still fine. I will be back in the future. I want to thank the team for all their great work!!

Went for an oil change, they didnt tighten the drain plug enough and oil leaked. Went back saying what happened and then they tightened it too much, stripped the drain plug and had to buy a new one.

Scammers! Took total advantage of me and charged me ton for bad service. Charged me $100 to check my headlight and breaks when I told them to just look for problem of why my starter wasn’t working. Rather than checking the fuse directly they did full car inspection like tires, breaks and lights and charged me ton. After leaving the place, car had hard vibration that they couldn’t explain. After messing around with spark plug connectors the vibration went away. Bad service and scamming people. Would recommend going anywhere else other than this place.

I normally only go to the Hanover park midas but went here because it was nearby my job. I wont be back, everything felt like an upsale and scare tactic. Came in for oil change only. First thing i noticed the price was double what most local prices are for oil changes...thought that was odd but was told because it was buy one get one free (not posted anywhere). Next the guy behind the counter immediately tried to sale me on engine injector cleaner and a transmission flush told me engine will stop working without google it. Thought that was odd as well because those are only recommended services and it was made to sound as if my car would break today without. I was happy they were able to drop me off at work and that was very nice of them, Midas is known to do this. 1 hour later I started to receive texts and pictures from stating other dire needs of the car followed up with your oil plug nut is stripped and we will not perform the oil change without you buying a replacement and we may charge $140 labor charge. I kindly told them no thank you and I will take my car else where. I had recently had inspection done by dealership, so I knew everything they were mentioning was an attempt for them to get more money. Miraculously seconds after telling them no thank you...I receive a call stating my oil change was completed already. Although moment before that they said they could not do the oil change. And to top it all off when I asked for a ride to come pick up my car they were now too busy all day to come pick me back up.I understand the goal is to make money for your business but customer service can go a long way when keeping customers around long term.

I had my old buick towed here to get a brake issue fixed. Turns out that the damage was a lot more than I thought. Ended up needing to junk the car, but the staff there was super understanding and easygoing about it. Amazing customer service, and they actually care about you.

I have been going here for years, they are always so kind and honest and they do great work! I don’t go anywhere else. The owner Anil is an exceptionally good human who has set the culture of the shop. Highly recommend!!

Not want to fix flex pipes on my VW said 3k dollars to get simple parts sound rip off so I took to CarX they fixed flex pipe quick n simple for reason cost

They always take care of me well. Easy to go in, get things explained, and take the time to fix it up. Can get pricey, but thats expected with auto work. They try to provide deals when they can and I appreciate that.

Went in for an oil change and absolutely nothing else. Of course they tell me we do an inspection on all the vehicles we work on so of course now my tie rods need to be replaced and my brakes need to be adjusted. Mind you I just had my brakes done a few months before. Now my car has been screeching and squealing non stop everyday since going to midas. Never again will they get my business. Completely unprofessional

If you haven’t been screwed in a long time, come on down to Midas!By far the worst customer experience of my life. Took my car here before I drove from Chicago to San Diego. Got my brake pads + rotors done. I am fairly certain they never actually changed them. I told them I was driving cross country.I even brought my car back after the service to have them check it.

So I get a flat tire in front of this Midas and I ask if he can fix this .Without examining the tire he wants sell me a new one and tells me it cannot be repaired .When I ask him if he can put my spare tire on he says he is to busy.To busy to put my spare on but not to busy to sell me a new tire.I had the tire repaired at Just Tires for $29.00.THANKS FOR YOUR MONEY HUNGRY NO HELP ! ! !

I have had multiple positive experiences now at Midas on Golf Rd. Matt the manager always gives thorough info and always talks to me before performing the repairs. I feel full confidence in their honesty and quality of work.

Anil, the supervisor, is money hungry and tries to get over on people. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! I went in for starter issues with my car. I knew it was the starter, however, anil told me his guys tested the starter, battery and alternator. They all were fine. He then suggested I get new spark plugs, some type of car cleaner and a new air filter which totaled 500.00, I paid the 500.00. The very next day, I had an issue with my car starting. Took the car back and was told it was the starter. Anil never apologized and felt no remorse. He wanted me to pay an additional 600 for a starter on top of what I paid the day before. Don’t forget, Anil told me my starter was fine the first day I came to his shop. His “discount” was taking $100 off the starter price. Why would I want to do any more business with you when I’m out of money because of you? He got upset because I was upset (of the fact that i spent $500 for no reason when i could have paid $600 in the beginning if he knew what he was talking about) and refused to fix the issue. DO NOT, I repeat do not go here!! Any big repairs, go somewhere else!!!!

The one reason I came here is the good reputation of this brand. Little that I knew was that each franchise owner is to its own. Here is why I will never return here - came for an oil change for a special deal advertised online. Was told the deal is not honored here, but they offer buy one/get one free. Next - my gaskets (lower and upper) needed to be changed for there was a severe leak of oil. Agreed on the price of $254 - according to owner 2 and some hours of labor at $110 and $30-ish. Total price then at the end went to 269, plus tax. An total service time was no longer than 30 mins. I WATCHED them work on the car. It is a simple procedure. Nothing fancy. Yet they went between my car and other cars, they made it look like 2+ hours. Including the 20 mins wait time for CarQuest to come and deliver the gaskets.I feel robbed and lied to. I have contacted Midas HQ and am awaiting internal investigation.Bottom line - mechanics are good, front manager - also cool, but the boss is a money-hungry individual who does not deserve my business.STAY AWAY.

They charged 1200$ for breaks and rotors. After that didnt drive car mush now rotor got rusted and they are not willing to fix it. They are asking for another 300$ for fixing it.Please dont waste your time and money. There are lots of other good places to visit.

Got me in and out quickly. Gave me a honest run down of the condition of my vehicle including that the tread was low on the tires and I should start looking for new ones. Didnt try to sell me new ones, but offered to show me the prices on several brands and what promotions they had running. I was genuinely pleased with their service and will return in the future.

I’ve had many services (both basic & complex) completed at Schaumburg Midas & I keep coming back because I trust Matt. He always does a thorough & superb job, communicates well and makes me feel confident In his recommendations. I can count on him to meet my time deadlines and exceed my expectations.

I was traveling to hospital in Schaumburg from South Bend, IN, on Tuesday before Thanksgiving when my brakes went out. This shop was the only place willing to even look at my car. Not only were they professional, they were extremely hospitable and helpful. Would recommend to anyone! Went extra mile and a half.

I used this service to fix my muffler. During the procress, they damaged my car. They tried to repair it. When it was not repaired to my satisfaction, they said they would not do anything further and walked away. Do not use and do not recommend.

They have taken more then 2 hours for oil change and to make a list what have to repair waste of time and money...

I dont live in the area but Im in the area often. I needed a set tires. I had been shopping on the net, phone and in person. I noticed this place and decided to stop. I left with new tires and an oil change.Matt, the manager, is very helpful and professional. The customer waiting area and restroom are clean and neat. Free Wi-Fi and coffee are a plus! Oh, theres a Starbucks across the street!Ive been back for brakes, wipers and oil changes. I believe their prices to be fair and their work top notch! Easy to request appointment online. Followed up with phone call to confirm. First in and first out at 7.30AM. Called to confirm price before work completed. Brakes/rotors. Finished in about 1-2 hrs. Waited. Good price.

I have been going to Midas Schaumburg for servicing my Kia optima 2013 for the last 3 years. They are flexible to work with. Takes time in explaning the need of any service recommendation. They try not to push and sell too much about the service. They would provide the information and leave it to me to decide whether to do the service or not.

Very pleasant experience as a customer of this location. The owner is straightforward and honest, team works as quickly as they possibly can, and pricing is fair (I had quotes for the same services at other places to compare, including the dealership...yikes!). I called ahead to ask for a quote since I knew what I needed to have done, and they had the parts ordered and on hand before I arrived. I urge you to give them the chance to win your future business. Highly recommend!

I went in to see how much it would cost to get my brakes fixed. I was on a very tight budget but knew I needed my brakes fixed as soon as possible. I talked to Scott and he informed me that the car was in worse condition than I had imagined and the cost to fix it was about $600 over my price range. I told him that I wouldnt be able to do it but that I appreciated them checking it out. He voiced genuine concern in telling me that he would feel bad giving it back to me in that condition, brakes arent something you want to gamble with. He told me he would see what he could do and call me back. I assumed he wouldnt be able to go that much lower but when he called back he gave me a price that was in my range! I was so happy. They did a great job fixing the problem, it drives like new (or rather stops), and they even finished it about an hour and a half earlier than he thought they would. He said he put two mechanics on it. Overall a great experience. Car maintenance is a huge headache but the guys at Midas really do help out. I will definitely be heading to Midas next time I need a repair or maintenance done on my Jeep. I recommend you give them a shot if you are also looking for a place!

I had to get my car fixed to pass the emission test and these guys took a good care of the same. I was notified of all the repairs and estimate within an hour of dropping my car and was also given installment option since the repair cost was high. I have been driving the repaired car for almost 2 weeks now with no issues and infact a lot smoother that it was. I am happy with the service and would recommend them for their service.

Great staff and owner! Had to drop off my car late Saturday night and they worked on my car that very Monday. Car needed a lot of work but they worked with me on getting what had to be done immediately while within my budget and letting me know the order of whats next. Affordable and very caring staff, very much recommended!

Great service! I had been going to a different Midas in the area, but the Schaumburg location is much closer to my home. It was a worthwhile switch! Good customer service, helpful with questions, overall a great location. Oil change in & out within 30 minutes. Definitely recommend!

Worst place ever. You will pay for price of 2 oil change, second free but when you go second time they will say, we are busy, go to Addison and no refunds. I will never comeback. Bad service and the owner care just about money.

I have been going to this Midas location for years. They are very honest (many times over the years, informing me that pads and rotors are good, require caliper work, etc.) and aren’t afraid to take you out into the shop and show you.My wife’s car dealer recommended brake work and my wife looked shocked when I refused the work be done. I pulled off the dealers service drive to Midas and had the same work completed in an hour and a half for half the quoted cost of the dealer.They also stand behind their work.

Long story short, they caused damage to my car during a routine oil change then refused to admit it. Said I must have “hit a giant pot hole”. My car was absolutely fine when I dropped it off but when I got it back my rear shock was broken and leaking oil. Quoted me $1700 for the work which I declined and got it fixed for $320 at another mechanic, who told me there was no doubt the damaged was caused by Midas. DO NOT GO HERE FOR EVEN SIMPLE OIL CHANGES. Their mechanics obviously have no idea what they are doing and their customer service is terrible.

Scott and his team have been professional, quick, and thorough each time I have brought my collector car in for service. They have been flexible and point out relevant secondary issues when appropriate. To date they have provided service for exhaust, brakes, driveline, and suspension. Each team member was friendly, knowledgeable, and always answered my questions. I always search for businesses I can trust and establish a long term relationship with. This is now my go to place. Keep up the great work.

I have been coming here for years and the staff are all very friendly, helpful and I dont remember a time when I had to wait for a long time. I came in for an oil change, cabin filter change and checking the tires. Very happy with the service. I highly recommend this place.

Me and others only expected honesty.Original Review 12/13: Get your regular oil changes and service work done where your vehicle wont get damaged to extort more repairs from you!!They damaged the suspension on our car during a regular oil change and wanted $1800 to repair. An independent shop confirmed that the damage was substantial and had to have happened from a tremendous impact (such as dropping from lift or something similar) - impossible to have happened unnoticed.Anil the manager refused to take responsibility.You do not want to risk taking your car here even for wiper blades! After years of loyalty to this location - NEVER AGAIN. Dont say you weren’t warned.An investigation has been launched and reports will be filed with customer protection agencies to avoid the abuse of customer property. Previous customers that also experienced this are welcome to come forward to strengthen the case.

Hello. I really appreciated service provided at that location - fast and fairly priced. Dont you forget that you can get 2 full synthetic oil changes for the price of one!I really recommend visiting that place with your car needs.

They first told me it was o2 sensors so had them change them out. Then it turned into a catalytic convertor needs to be replaced. They could not fix my emissions related problems ended up taking it to a dealer!

Dropped van off for trans fluid leak.$20 inspection refundable if work is completed with them. Gave me an esti mate of a possible fix so I slept on it. Then next morning I wanted to take a look myself saw that the lines were very rusty. Couldnt see anything wrong with radiator which he told me need replacement in so told him to just replace lines. They replaced lines and no more leak.thank God. So.....

I took my 2007 Honda Civic that has 162K miles on it in July 2018. The car has had its fair share of repairs but is hanging in there. I was experiencing a whining noise when pressing the gas pedal that would go away after the engine was warm. I took it to Autozone to make sure it wasnt any electrical components. Then, I took it to Midas. It was early in the morning so they were able to look at my car right away. Within 10 minutes, they knew it was the power steering rack. It is a very expensive repair (to the point I would have to decide if I would do it and take the risk that I wont have a lot of other typical repairs outside the standard brakes, tires, etc) but I knew I would have to do this from a prior inspection at the dealer. Matt provided extremely prompt service and was very honest. He thought everything else looked pretty good for the age of the car. I decided to make the >$1K investment in the steering rack in the hopes this will last another few years. The mechanic (forgot his name unfortunately) was stellar as he was able to change the steering rack, do an alignment, and pick me up all within 6-7 hours even though I didnt have an appointment. Matt was very courteous throughout the entire process. I was impressed by the mechanics knowledge of the repair. On the way back to the shop after he picked me up, he was very honest about the repair and assessment of the car. I was able to get a little more understanding of how everything works. Job well done - now hoping no more expensive repairs!

Went in a week ago and I have to say this will be the only place I take my car in the future. I have an old car and theres plenty that could/should be done to it, but they worked with me and were honest about what needed to be repaired immediately. The manager Matt was absolutely wonderful, and the rest of the staff (front desk and technicians) were also incredibly friendly and professional. On top of the reasonable prices they also gave me a loaner so I didnt have to sit around and wait all day. Thank you Midas!

Long story short, my car has a band new structs, I brought it in for an alignment and fluid change for my Transfer case. they said transmission hose is leaking and they quoted me for a ~600$ which I refused because I am going to it with another mechanic for a 300$.The car was fine no noise, it has a brand new suspension including the complete structs assembly. They finished the job 6 PM and gave me the key when I started the car I heard a noise coming from the left side this which wasnt there before, I asked the mechanic to see the noise and I told him this wasnt before, he said you can bring it tomorrow will check it for you. IF THIS NOISE WAS THERE THEY WILL TRY TO QUOTE ME FOR IT THEY DONT ONLY DO WHAT YOU ASK FOR THEY WILL TRY TO SELL YOU FLUSHES YOU DONT ASK FOR, THE MECHANIC DID A TEST DRIVE FOR THE VIEVHLE BEFORE HE DID THE ALIGNMENT.and thats what I did next day, I toke an hour from my work and went there so they can check the noise, but the guy there refused to admit, I even asked him to have the mechanic look at it maybe something lose because of the alignment that causes this noise but he still which he also refused to do, they will spend a lot of time trying to sell you things you dont need but spend 10 min to fix an issue they caused to my car is not possible. Now I have to take it to another mechanic to fix my car noise which is caused by Madis and I am sure I have to pay for their mistake.Please Please be aware, DON’T GO THERE EVEN FOR OIL CHANGE they may break things for you and the most important thing that they don’t help or admit, I will never take my car there and I dont encourage anyone to do so.I SUBMITTED MY INFORMATION

Was charged 1.50 hours labor for 30 minutes of work. The manager said they charge the book time for all repairs, irrespective of the time actually spent on the job. Asked if theyd charge the book time labor if the repair took LONGER than anticipated and got a non-responsive, [I]ts up to the owner response. Wont be going back.

We have been taking both our cars to these guys for years. They have always been upfront and straight forward about the work. The prices are fair and the service team does an outstanding job!!!

Matt is guess is the new management. I don’t remember the previous owner but it seems to change hands often. Got a great deal on 2 for 1 oil change and was companies to other places. Best Jiffylube for sure. Not sure what repair warranty they offer. I have used this place several times previously over the years. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Have been having all my vehicles serviced at this location for years. I will keep using them and like the quality of service, attitude of the staff and the cost of maintenance and repairs. I will return.

HORRIBLE, I just waited for THREE hours and never was even able to get my oil changed. I have been a loyal customer for years, I’ve brought every car I’ve ever owned here... but the service is just insanely bad. The fake buy one get one free is nice and kept me coming back (it’s actually more expensive than just getting one single oil change, so not buy one get one), but the service is just unbearable. Actually, while we are at it, let’s talk about the time they tried telling me that my tires were “riding on the internal support wires” to get time to get me to change my tires with them lol cmon man... lots of lies and deception, everything you expect from a service shop.

They are the best. I have been taking my car here for years only place I go and they are always friendly and honest and there is nothing else I could ask for.

If there was a way to vote with no stars, I would have. Where to begin? I was told after the diagnosis that they could have the fuel pump replaced by noon the next day, and they would call me by then. Noon comes and goes with no calls, so I call to get the status. It took almost an hour and several calls to finally get some kind of answer. Im told its in progress and should be done by 2pm. I head to the shop to wait.I get there and around two and find out that they had JUST STARTED. Soon after, Im told that in addition to the fuel pump, my tires also needed bearings. I wasnt sure about it, but the salesperson made it sound like my back tires were about to rip themselves off at high speed on the freeway. Needing to get home several states away, I said to go for it. Finally they get it done and its a little after 4. I pay and leave, and get about a mile down the road when the check engine light goes on and my car goes dead in the middle of traffic. Tried calling them back several times, only to get voicemail every time, which was weird because they were supposed to still be open for another 45 minutes. Finally manage to get the car started again and headed back. When I got there, the place was closed. This whole experience ended up being painful, as is $1500 and the job not finished painful.

I have always had a good experience at the Midas Schaumburg location. The team has been very upfront about what really needs to be serviced or fixed and never wasted time trying to upsell anything. Their service is also fast and reliable.

The people here were nice, but when I was told the price to replace an alternator it was just a rip off. I called a local shop and got it for ~$400 less and it was still a rebuilt alternator. After everything said and done, it was $240 at Express Auto Repair but with Midas it would have been $620. Not sure who gives them their prices or what they base their repairs off of, but it seemed quite skewed and you should call a local shop first to make sure you are getting the best price!

I had a terrible experience, went there for synthetic oil change and the guy was too rude. Never expected.They never did the courtesy check and said we are too busy so wont do it. And then never gave tge bi of the services. Have been a reguler customer for last 6 years but now will never ever go again.Please stay away. Local shops are better than this name brand.
