I just recently got my rx8 back from an engine rebuild built by Sam. When i came to pick up my car, the work that was done and put into it was amazing! I havent driven the car in 3 yrs due to low compression but i can proudly say that im back on the road thanks to these guys from Elite Rotary. They have my full support and a continued customer for future work and maintenance. Thanks guys for the hard and amazing work!

Sal and his team did an amazing job on my Rx8. I called other shops before calling Sal, just to ask normal questions about issues I had with my 8, most of the shops I called acted like they were doing me a favor to talk to them. When I did call Sal he stayed on the phone with me for 45 minutes answering all my questions. So I decided to bring my RX8 to him for an engine rebuild. Im so happy I did, they did such an amazing job! Im so happy with my car and grateful to Sal and his team for bringing my baby back to life. Keep up the great work guys your the best.

Took a ride out to Elite to grab a Fender fory FD and what a great place!! Sam was super cool and helped me out tremendously!! Storefront was super clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!

Sal did a great job, had a clutch replacement and some oil lines replaced. We had agreed that he would replace the oil pan gasket later down the line, and he honored it even though I only came back several months later. Keeping your word is critical in building trust. Id take my rx8 back to Sal when it eventually gives me trouble (it is an RX8 after all!).

I highly recommend Elite Rotary Shop. Over the course of the past year, the engine got a large Street port, sanded, and Powder coated. The car has an Elite intake, Fuel Rails, V-mount, Fuel system and full exhaust. Looking into details, everything is routed professionally and top notch! The best part is everything is still accessible and can easily be replaced 10, 20, 30 years down the road if need be. The time they spend on builds is well worth the effort that they put in to plan ahead and make sure everything is done right.I am glad I chose Elite Rotary shop to work on my car. After seeing their shop, how everything has progressed, and the end product rivaling any show car out there. I can confidently say I recommend Elite Rotary Shop.

Terrible customer service and awful products. Nothing of the tree orders i placed with them fit and were designed poorly. Probably their oil pan it the only think worth a cent but thats a joke. Defense the worst rotary shop in business right now, would recommend any other place in the US. Even Atkins is better than these guys

The best around! had them work on my RX8 for my engine rebuild. Let me say my car is running amazing, cant believe its the same car. Now the car has so much more power and acceleration!! My RX8 is back to being so much fun to drive. Highly recommend Elite to everyone

After a few failed engines from other rotary shops in the area, I found Elite Rotary Shop. Elite knocked it out of the park! Elite built my engine for my FD and it absolutely rips! 472hp at 14 psi on pump 93. I also have purchased several very high quality parts and services from Elite, the fitment and quality of Elites parts and services are outstanding! Highly recommended over other greater chicago/ midwest rotary shops!

Let me start out by saying this is one of the best rotary shops around, I have had my Rx7 worked on by them multiple times and have always been super happy with everything Sal and his crew have done. That being said one thing I will say in life you have people that are extremely happy for others and their success and you have people that are very jealous and hatful because of someones success. Been working with Sal on my seven for almost two years. From initial build of a modest 300hp street car to 600+ street monster. Always has taken great care of my car. Has pushed me & my project in the right direction from day one. Knows rotaries & 7’s from bumper to bumper. He is hard to get ahold of sometimes but never have I not gotten a call back. Patience is a virtue tho, especially when dealing with rotaries & 25+ year old cars. 10/10 would recommend

Sal/sam this review is not fake your skill set is talking not with tools and it shows, you have scam going on and you threaten customs with holding completion of MOTORS and CARS, when they LEAVE negative reviews, you make empty threats of not finishing the car/motor. The engine needed to be rebuilt. The owner informed me at every step of the rebuilt. Explained the reason why parts failed.The owner takes pride in his work, and is a perfectionist. YOU CANT GO WRONG BRINGING YOUR ROTARY HERE.

Love this place, have nothing but great things to say! had an engine built by Elite and Sal couldnt be happier with the service and quilaty of work. i have read all the reviews and can see some fake reviews because people will hate on others unfortunately. Also Im sure some are real reviews as well, but every review has two sides to it... keep your head up Elite you guys are the best in my book and many others agree too

Ive had a lot done to my FC over the years from the guys at Elite. Products and services are unmatched anywhere in the US. The last big thing I had done was a complete engine build with all Elite products. I would recommend them to anyone.

I never been in this shop but their price are exaggerated compared others mazda rx7 websites..they should be have their own 7sec Racing Car to test their parts and collect those Prices!

Best in the business by far

This is as true as a review as it can get. Majority of the poor reviews seems like bashing or fake. Its either a 5 star or a 1star. Ive seen and have spoken with the owner multiple times, and have visited his shop multiple times. The shop itself is sectioned into various different spaces. Showroom for all of the shopping and parts, an engine building room, and the shopspace in the rear. I have personally seen all spaces myself and would say it is clean and impressive. Sam is personally a clever individual, and great talker. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to rotary cars and seem to have the necessary skills and know how to help you with many, if not all of your rotary needs. If you get a hold of him and speak to him either via phone or in person, he will try his best to assist you. Friendliness and customer service seem not to be an issue with Elite, with the exception of some missed phone calls. I am also a business owner, i understand the high demand of customer needs and difficulties trying to please everyone. Sam is the heart of the shop and needs to make sure everything is tip top. Therefore getting a hold of him is sometimes difficult. If anyone were to ask me if Id prefer my rotary specialist in the shop or answering phones, you can guess what my answer would be. Elite gets a 4 star review in my opinion, because with the exception of some difficulty communicating, it is by far the best shop Ive personally dealt with and have a wide range of high quality performance parts. Also, i must note that my issue on Elites communication is rather less significant compared to order issues, shop errors, and miscommunication at another rotary shop that I have dealt with prior to switching to Elite.

Amazing customer service and incredible knowledge, was having idling problems with my 82 rx7, he was able to help me identify where my idle adjustments were on my carburetor set up and recommended a ignition tune up. Thank you Sal! Helping me keep the rotary alive on the east coast. -Mike

Slow, not worth the loss time

Ordered a part of their website a month ago. Still never got it. Asked owner multiple times to check on order and he never followed up. Why would I spend big money here when they can’t even execute a small order. Avoid if possible

Got my engine done there about two years ago fully built. Left the car in my garage for a yr and finally started it back up on sunday. Fired up on the first crank no problems no leaks or smoke idle like new. Owner was comumunitive and ansewered all my questions walked my through the shop and gave me good insight and knowledge on how to take care of the engine and reinstlalling by myself. Bullet proof.

By far one of the best customer service I have experienced when it comes to mechanic shops. My car arrived there barely even able to run and left running like a brand new car. The amount of power it has now is astonishing. To be honest, it took me a few minutes to actually get used to it again. They did amazing work, great turn around time for all the problems the car had, and I can say now has a true rotary engine. This is what a rotary is supposed to feel like. Absolutely love it!!

I recently had my RX-8 serviced by them. Came in for one thing, and I had them check a coolant leak. Turned out my radiator cracked at the plastic top. They were able to get me an upgraded aluminum radiator, full service, plus a few things here and there in no time for a very reasonable price. Plus I learned a LOT about my engine in the meantime. These guys also offer services that would never have crossed my mind. They were able to help me when in a pinch. They also dont just do stuff to your car like a lot of places do and then just say, Oh, yeah, your bill is now x3 more because we had to do this and that. No no no, THESE guys establish a price with you and if anything happens in the meantime, they first consolidate with you as to what to do next. Definitely earned a customer for life. You can trust these guys 100% with working on your car.

Ordered magnacor 10mm plug wires from them March 19 2019 i did not recieve a confirmation email. I waited a few days and ended up calling inquiring about my order I was told it was on order as they did not stock it and they would be in the following week. I waited until the end of the following week with no tracking email. I then called them again and this time i was told they had my order and just needed me to confirm my address and they would send me an email with tracking. I still have not received tracking or my part.. It is now April 3rd I have called them 6 times today alone with no answer..

Great displeasure of dealing with this shop!From the under qualified tech’s, the owner having no accreditation or certification to work on cars. To the horrible poor work they do. In no way does this shop or owner have any experience with cars other then opening a shop. Sal has no technical background or any accreditation from any technical schools! The guy can’t even get certified!From ghost bills, to lack of communication to the sloppy work. ITS A GAMBLE TAKING YOUR CAR HERE!! Paid review’s there’s better places simply put.

I got my parts with a quick turn around time.

After being mistreated by Banzai, I contacted the next local shop available to me, which was elite recommended by Facebook rotary pages, He took my car, answered my questions, and made me feel comfortable in his work, if you follow their IG and check their facebook you can see show room quality in each and every build, i also noticed wanted good power numbers, the other shops only make stock power levels after rebuilds.

Had a compression check on my Rx-8 first thing in the morning. Rita was very accommodating, even offering me a plate for me to eat my McDs I brought in for the wait. Sam even put on a movie for me, but it was just ambience as we spoke the whole time. He educated me on my car and how he runs the business. I had them replace my plugs too--it was time anyways, the plugs werent ridiculously overpriced, and still too cold outside for me to do myself--and he gave me my old plugs. His guys even found that I had a missing bolt on my motor mount, after the fact I had clutch replacement at the dealership months ago. I left completely satisfied with a sense of trust, and I would come back again to have them overhaul my motor.

I can personally testify that elite is very much elite to how the shop runs and operates, to the 2-3 vehicles a day he pushes out, check out Elites Facebook to watch the updates of new products or even vehicles being moved out of there, Sal knows his rotaries and shows the east coast more love then some shops I’ve been too. His rebuilds are done with real Mazda oem gaskets and can get you set up for a basic rebuild down to the bulletproof, If you have any technical questions about your rotary powered vehicle he’s the man to talk too. Elite is a joke, they have poor skills and no attention to detail! Wouldn’t trust them with a lawnmower, let alone a RX7. Bad wiring job, missing parts the list goes on from there work. Ive never been here before, definitely got hacked and had a bad review written about this place using my name (seems like a lot of trouble for little payoff). Id be cautious about the 1-stars. Though, I guess Id be wary of the 5-stars too considering the other reviews.

I spent 350$ on some suspension parts. I called wondering about another part I wanted to find. He told me he would call me next week and said he would hold my order so he could send everything at once. I haven’t gotten a call for almost a month now. I’m called so many times and left a few voice mails, even emailed them a couple times. I still have not gotten any response on where my package is and or when it is expected. I bought a rx7 that I can’t even drive now because it’s on jack stands untill I get my package. Terrible customer service.

We will see If recommend them if I can ever get a response.I ordered a part online on November 27th over 2 weeks ago. A week after the order I still hadn’t received a shipping confirmation so I emailed the shop asking if my order had been shipped, we are now over 2 weeks since I ordered my part, still no shipping information and no one has responded to my emails. Also note I really like the work they post and inquired about shipping a motor to them to have built and no one responded to me on that inquiry as well. Obviously they have poor communication. I don’t feel like I could trust shipping them my engine.*update, after the review and another email I got a response stating “we are having trouble with our email we will look into this for you”. It’s been another full week since I received that email, I still don’t have a shipping confirmation, tracking number or the part.*emailed them yet again stating what’s going on with my order, the response this week was we haven’t been getting your emails even after last week the stated we will look into this for you. This place is a joke.

I wouldnt buy anything from these guys ever again, or recommend them to anyone. Lied to me multiple times about things being sent when they werent. Virtually uncontactable (Didnt reply to emails or facebook messages). Whenever I called the shop Sal and Sam were out and never returned my calls. In the end they just stopped answering my calls altogether. I waited 8 months for the kit and when it arrived it didnt even fit. They told me send it back and we will make another one for you. Another 2 months and I receive the kit. Guess what? Still didnt fit!!!! In the end I ended up just sending the whole lot back and got a refund. which I had to wait another 2 months for. Seriously this shop is the biggest circus act in the world. Nearly a whole year later and I only just got my money back.
