Wife ordered what she needed. They had it ready to go when I got there. Because it was ordered online I didnt have to wait in line and pay. Just go in and let them know I was there to pick up the order. In and out in less than 5 minutes !

I just love Michaels. They have so much stuff to get creative with! Sometimes I just go in for no reason, but I always leave with something new.

Went to the store at 6549 s.tamiami trail, #2007. Jessica was the clerk at the cashier stand, she was very kind and helpful. Good employee.

I called ahead to see if they had what I wanted but when I got there it was unavailable and was told it was only available online. The person who was helping us wanted to know who answered my question but I could not give her that answer. I drove 19 miles for nothing.

Michaels does the best custom framing. So sorry Rodney is transferring to another store location. Sure hope his replacement is as good as he is! Rodney you will be missed😣

Rude and incompetent staff, definitely won’t be returning to this location. I bought about 4 or 5 glass items and they acted like they had nothing to wrap it in; I ended up having to make a return just after I had made a purchase and a different girl checked me out and had the most attitude, rude and just bad energy towards me but offered to wrap my glass item. So the first girl couldn’t be bothered and didn’t want to make sure the glass items wouldn’t get broke and the second girl just had an attitude and was rude. She asked every person before me to fill out a survey on the bottom of the receipt but of course since she provided terrible customer service to me she didn’t say to — best believe I’ll be filling it out now. Leave your attitude and judgement at home ladies.

This place has anything for arts and crafts and even baking. Whenever i want to do a painting i grab some canvass. The best part is they have coupons like everyday for like 20%-30% off your order or that one item!!

Ya know! ...when you call the store and ask if they have a product and they say they do, and, you ask if they will hold it. You get there, the manager says sorry, it was a miss communication we dont have it and I find that in fact it is in the store.You had one job, sell the products that you have. Pretty much, that is not Management and I would hire a new manager.And for those of you that need to know...they are NOT wearing masks in that store so if you are high risk like myself, skip it!

Ok so...Ive been shopping at Michaels, in various states, for about 18 years. I havent gotten angry when the company has discontinued using art supplies I depend on, I havent gotten upset when Ive found the prices are twice as high as smaller, local stores bc the company always has coupons & sales but now Im angry...For some reason, at the south Sarasota location, management started posting a greeter just inside the entrance - the new over eager, car salesman, over-the-top-HI!!! WELCOME TO MICHAELS!!! approach is so friggin OBNOXIOUS & jarring I forget why Ive gone in & find myself walking out with nothing most of the time now. Michaels is googly eyes, yarn & home decor. Its an arts & crafts store where your mind should be allowed to wander. Its NOT a hard sell, commission sales driven business - its not a.high end boat dealership or furniture store or a used car business. Michaels is about selling the idea of creativity...its extremely difficult to relax when youre tackled by desperate measures at the front door .Whether management is using the HI! WELCOME TO MICHAELS!!! approach to deter shoplifters or to drive up our numbers (as I was told today) why not simply have employees walking around asking IF people need or WANT help bc verbally accosting people at the door, in what is supposed to be a creative atmosphere is bizarre. I hate to say this but thank God for Amazon - I can shop in peace & not have to worry about being made to feel uncomfortable.

Ordered curbside pickup. After 15 minutes called to see where my package was. 15 more minutes later, went inside. 2 cashiers standing without any customers. If you offer curbside, it should be prompt.

One of my granddaughters loves creating with clay, paint, pencil, and whatever else serves her muse so I thought I would check out Michaels for her Christmas gifts this year. This was my first trip and I was overwhelmed with the selection they offered. I wandered the aisles for over an hour just trying to take in all the choices available. I was also surprised to find a childrens section that contained every craft and science kit a child could imagine and the vast majority were discounted another 40 percent. I also loved the fact that they had a barcode reader kiosk to double check all the prices. I could not have been happier and was able to more gifts than I had imagined. All the associates I encountered were polite and knowledgeable. I am going to have to make a return trip with my granddaughter.

If you can find an employee they are friendly and helpful. But they all seem overworked. I was able to find what I needed and some cute extra items for Christmas decorating.

I just had to post a review after what I just experienced in this store. First of all, this is my local craft store. I’ve been here many times for a variety of reasons and it’s always been exactly what I need, especially with in store pickup. The staff is always kind.Due to the pandemic, they’ve still been cranking out orders safely which is so appreciated for those of us staying at home. While I was waiting to pick up my latest order, there was an irate customer in line. She was demanding a refund on something she’d previously been told she could not receive, as she’d apparently come in several times. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a customer so rude. Especially when this store is just staying open to do us a service in this uncertain time!! They’re not essential but they’re putting their health at risk for customers like me and like this woman who wanted to return some yarn, which I believe cost about $4. The manager on duty, Diane, handled it so well. I almost never leave reviews but wow! She kept her calm and even offered to refund the customer after this irate woman was yelling (without a mask) about Diane being a thief! Outrageous. Major props to Diane and the rest of the staff here.

I am so disappointed in this store. My husband and I were standing outside the door waiting to be let in ( do to the safe distancing ). My husband is blind so it takes me to go in with him and find what he wants. When it was our turn they would not let us go in together. I explained (as she would see plainly) that he was blind But that didn’t matter. We had been waiting for 30 minutes already and then because there were only one person at a time coming out they would not allow the two of us to go in. She said, sorry can’t and rudely said that only one of us can go in. We left. I was in a couple of days before that and was treated so so rudely. They were not interested in helping at all and just snap at people. Its not ok. I’m done with this store. I am not going to pay high prices and be treated in such a way. My husband likes to do certain projects but he won’t go there anymore either. People around us couldnt understand this whole thing either. I used to like going to Micheal’s. This did it for me. Poor way of running a business. I put one start only because I had to in order to make a complaint here, but I give no stars.

Went @ 6:00 p.m. and store was quiet. Store neat and clean. Looking for stencil brush kit but only had a package with 4 round loose stencil brushes. Michaels offer 40% coupon like Hobby Lobby and on top of 40% coupon if signed up with Michaels you can take another 20% off your total purchase. Great store for all your craft needs.

Great products however I was followed and loomed over while shopping. Uncomfortable experience, made for a very short visit.

I sent an expensive autographed jersey out to be framed and it’s been over a month past when it was set to be done. They beat around the bush and never give a real answer on when it will be done. At this point I just want my jersey back! 3 times I called today and it went to voicemail each time(during business hrs) Beyond a waste of my time.

This location is always clean and organized, it has great seasonal items too. I can always find different kinds of supplies for different projects. From frames to beads they have it all. The staff is super kind and helpful. They are always willing to think through an idea to come up with a starting point.

I ventured in with my BW to shop for display boxes for some special basketball memorabilia. We found exactly what we needed, and it was on sale. We did manage to leave with some additional items that made their way into the shopping cart. Michaels sure does have a lot of crafty stuff...most of which I had no clue as to what it was.

We Love Michaels! My daughters 11 and were pretty crafty so this is our It store! They also have craft classes and of course they have absolutely Every Supply for it! We made a Mermaid and a really cute sea horse and a mosaic! It was fun! The staff is always very helpful and friendly too!

Come on, its Michaels. Not Jo Ann Fabrics. Youve seen one, youve pretty much seen them all, except the smaller ones like in smaller towns. Lots of arts and crafts. There are usually good finds in clearance. The Staff, can be helpful and the store is kept looking clean and tidy.

Would give it 5 stars but had quite the debacle at this store with an online order not being fulfilled properly. Took more than 3 weeks to try to resolve, several trips to the store for an order I had already paid for. Ultimately ended in a refund because they couldnt source what I wanted.

Ill tell u what - tonight it was like I was dealing with children. Had a 40 percent off coupon it wouldnt scan....so I asked can I just order on line n use that coupon I was told no ...Just a very frustrating experience ...the manager could have easily honered the coupon n I could moved on w my evening not aggravated.DO BETTER.

I had great success over many years framing art at a Michaels in Dartmouth, MA. My first visit to Michaels in Sarasota could not have been better. I highly recommend this place.

They had exactly what I was looking for, and I could use a coupon to get 50% off of a single item (which they took off of the most expensive item). After checking out, the cashier asked if I wanted the coupon back. I didnt know you could use a coupon more than once. I wound up buying another item that I was on the fence about due to cost. At 50% off, it became a no brainer to get the item. I left the store a very happy customer.

Lots of boxes in aisles. Staff on floor wont make eye contact or offer help. No one ever up front at checkout resulting in long lines.

I had a great experience at this Michaels. I bought a couple shirts typically uses for Tye Dye, they are good quality and I bought two picture frames which worked perfectly. The customer service was friendly and speedy.

Wanted to replace silk flowers, lots of choices. Got craft paint to finish a project. Enjoyed my shopping experience

Great location and less expensive than Joannes. More bang for your buck here for sure and it has every kinda of craft too you may need or havent thought of. Only issues I have here are crazy older ladies who always come in and scold staff for no reason and not enough registers open for customers during busy times. Theres always an employee around the help and again staff are very friendly.

Hadnt been here in years thought we would give it a try. It was ok. Fried shrimp were good not outstanding. Still the same atmosphere as 20 years ago. Not my top 10. IMHO

Good selection of craft supplies. Helpful staff. The problem is at the corporate level. Artificially inflated prices to leave wiggle room for fake 50% sales. But if you need that specialty craft item you cant get at Wal-Mart they got it.

Was less than impressed with this particular Michaels and the staff that were on duty. The store was a mess. The employees were all standing around doing nothing rather than straightening up the store. They Are supposed to keep up with changing sale signs often, and they just dont ... so when you get up to the front and expect to pay a certain price, thats not what shows up on the register. They sat there and argued with me over $0.50 for about 10 minutes until I got so fed up that I left. I have since called corporate about this

Very disappointed that I checked online for a specific product before driving to store location. Found product but they do not carry the items necessary to complete the project. Additionally, the only pencil Christmas tree they have is very yellow. I was informed it is the only one they carry. Again, went online first.
