I needed an eye exam to obtain a drivers license. Although I had an exam this past June, I needed a local eye doctor to approve me to drive. Dr, Golden was recommended. His staff were all very helpful and gracious. It was easy to get through to the office and to obtain an appointment. Having just had an eye exam, I wasnt expecting any changes; I just needed a release. Much to my shock, Dr. Golden showed me that I saw clearer without my glasses! Working with me, we were able to get a prescription that worked. I should mention, I have major issues with my right eye. When my lenses came in, they needed a slight adjustment. The office staff worked with me until I was able to see clearly through my new prescription. I highly recommend Dr. Golden and his staff.
I like this office and shop quite a bit. Dr. Golden is a really nice person with an ease going personality. Very professional and knowledgeable, while being remaining personable. His staff is also very helpful and supportive. If you need glasses you need Dr. Golden and his staff.
Dr. Golden, Kristie, and Jackie are amazing !!!! Such an awesome experience, it’s like walking into St. Armand’s Circle, or Anna Maria Island. These people are the best. The office manager is wonderful. Just a well put together team. They do gift cards ..... & they have an excellent choice of Costa’s. Both men’s and women’s.... unbelievable prices !!! I’m so glad I went here. I’d recommend this place to anyone. You won’t regret it. Outstanding.-mod=)
Ive been with Dr. Golden for many many years and have always been 100% satisfied with he and the staff. He was the first to prescribe glasses that I could see better - than without.
I saw this provider in a port Charlotte location .I felt my exam was rushed and incomplete. He told me that the “machines were great “ and “did most of the work these days”.He assured me that my eyes were great and that I had no retinopathy and that my distance RX had actually improved and I required less correction, and my RX decreased .5 diopter in each eye.I told him that I was glad to hear that, as I was a diabetic . He immediately changed his demeanor, becoming defensive, stating “you didn’t check that on your medical history form”.I informed him that I had checked the box of “no changes since last exam “, and that I had accurately completed my medical history forms on my previous exam at the same location . So I suspect he did not take the time and opportunity to review my medical record during or prior to my appointment.I received my RX and ordered 4 pairs of new glasses. When the glasses arrived, I was unable to see clearly at a distance.I scheduled an appointment with a different optometrist, and had a complete and thorough eye examination, typical of the ones I had completed previously . I was not suprised that my distance correction RX written by Dr. Golden was inaccurate and my new RX was actually + .5-.75 diopter greater than previously. I have now had to return/reorder 4 pairs of prescription glasses, based on an incorrect RX written by Dr Golden. I also had to pay for a second complete eye examination .When I went to the Port Charlotte location to arrange for new glasses and inform them of the situation, I was told that this was the second report that day that they had received regarding this provider.I am unable to recommend this provider.
Our family went there for years. But last year he left us hanging and said he doesnt take insurance anymore. That is fine, but instead of telling his patients in October, he let us select the insurance that had him listed as a provider in Nov. like we do every year. He waited until appointment time the next year to tell us he didnt take insurance anymore. He said the insurance companies were putting the screws to the little guy (him). But he is so out of touch that he didnt realize, or care, that his patients (the little guy) select their employer based insurance in November and locked into premium payments for the year.If he cared about his patients he would have told us all in October, and we would have gone without eye insurance, and still be customers. But their actions speak for themselves about how much they care.Response to response:We were told by phone & email that the only insurance you accepted was Medicare. It doesnt make sense the same email was almost impossible in Oct/Nov during open enrollment. It would take 5 minutes in Outlook to notify your patient base what insurance you accepted w/o exposing email addresses. I think you should be honest, you dumped your working class people with employer based insurance. Your mistake was some of us do have cash. And we have it because we dont pay insurance premiums for nothing, and then pay a guy who care about us, that he wouldnt take 5 minutes to send a mass email.Medicare must be pretty good!
