Stella, who is 6, wanted to start first grade with a bang and get an undercut and a trim. She had never got the undercut before. She was anxious and so was I quite frankly. Every member of the staff was welcoming and put us at ease. Each step of the way our stylist asked how we wanted to proceed. It turned out perfect. Stella loves the haircut...I do too. She looks a little like a Viking warrior princess. Thank you all.

This was my first time coming here and Danielle was great to work with. She’s very friendly, and does great styling. She’s also a dog person and I enjoyed talking doggo with her.12/10 would definitely get my hairs chopped here again!

This was, by far, the best hair experience I’ve had since I moved to San Jose 3 years ago! Ashley, my hair guru was beyond amazing! She actually listens to what I want! She was super nice. I wanted a complicated set of services and it turned out way better than I had in mind. I’m so happy! Jacqueline, the manager, I believe was really nice! All of the other stylists and staff were so nice! It was a super welcoming and fun environment.

I was referred to Danielle, I walked in with wild ideas and she talked me down into a great cut that suited my needs. It came out cute and just what I wanted lol! I have very thick hair that is hard to cut/style but it came out super cute!! I will be going back. In a great location lots of parking.

My experience was actually surreal. I had scheduled an appointment for the first time ever in Bishops with Jacqueline because I read so many amazing things about her in the comments. I specifically asked for a long hair cut + deep conditioning. Nothing else, since I like to let my hair air dry.I show up for my appointment and I’m immediately directed to the shampoo station. She barely looked at my hair, and I had to ask her to look at it, so we could decide how much to cut because of the damaged ends. She looked at it for 2 seconds and decided on about 3 inches.Then it was time to cut. She never asked me what I wanted for the cut. I had to literally ask if I could show her pictures of what I wanted. I did, and this is what I asked for: straight cut, with some discreet layers, and a long(ish) fringe to the sides. (Showed her pictures of all of this).She cuts my hair (not the fringe yet) in less than 5 minutes and then she proceeds to styling it. She never asked me if I wanted her to style my hair, but I did hear her ask her colleague to add styling to my bill. I asked if she was styling it, she says yes, I say I prefer to leave it to air dry, and she says she cuts bangs better with dry hair. So I say she can dry the front of my hair for the bangs, but then she says no need.She proceeds to give me a fringe, and there was just no technique involved. No measuring. Literally grabbing pieces of hair and chopping them off. No math at all, no comparing the two sides, no matching them, nothing.Results:- As can be seen in the pictures, my hair is not straight in the back, I have a V, and several pieces of hair longer than the rest.- I had asked for some layers- there was no layering at all. It just didn’t exist.- I’m not even gonna comment on the fringe. I would’ve done a better job at home.When I still didn’t know the final results because my hair was still wet, she said I could drop by the next day for any adjustments, if needed.I did drop by the next day for adjustments, but they were closed (this past Sunday), which she failed to mention. They were also closed the following Monday and Tuesday.So I had to walk around with my hair looking like this for 3 full days. When I’m finally able to reach them, today, it appears I have to make an appointment for the adjustments, which goes against the “dropping by” mentioned previously. Today is Wednesday, and they first suggested Saturday.This just has to be a joke. If it took her less than 10 minutes to cut my hair, it should take her less than that for adjustments, and it should be a priority - but why would it be, if I already paid.Then they suggested tomorrow afternoon. At this point, I’m just never going back and I’m gonna try to find a place that can correct this mess.

Exactly what I wanted. I hadnt gotten my hair cut since before quarantine even started, so I had horrible damage and split ends on my hair. Called to make an appointment and was able to go the next day. I was a little off-put intitially because they charge extra ($8) for shampoo (Im used to that just being included). Went on 5:15 on a Tuesday afternoon and it was just me in the place. They also apparently do 30% off on Tuesdays, so that was a happy surprise! I just generally wanted a solid trim of all the dead ends and some long layers. Ashley did a great job! I really like being able to give a general idea and them being able to go with it and make it look good. I did not pay extra for a blow out, but Ashley blow dried my hair and smoothed out and did the ends with a curling iron, so the cut looked nice and polished when done.

I took my 19 year old son in to get his hair cut by Danielle. She did a fantastic job. His hair was just past his shoulders with big curls. He needed it cut short for a summer of out door camps, but didnt want it clipper short. Danielle did a great job balancing keeping length and volume while also cleaning it up around his neck and ears. It was his first professional cut in about 8 years. He left feeling very good about the experience.

I love this place! My daughters second time cutting her hair here. They all do such a good job, the vibe is great. On top of top of the salon being really nice inside the work is amazing. My daughter loves her hair. Its looks so good.

My scalp still hurts today after I get a hair cut yesterday…. I thought he knew what he is doing but no I think he just doesn’t care when he pull my hair that hard. The girl next to me kindly ask if she can have her hair wash first, and got reply that that’s extra money plus she have no time she have another customer coming soon… if you can’t handle that many customers, manage your time right

Great first experience, and I will definitely be back again. I had a cut and touch up color. Danielle listened to what I was looking for and did a great job with coloring and styling my hair.

Hair stylist( don’t want to mention the name) is not friendly. She hardly spoke. Felt rude and disrespectful. If you don’t value the customers they will not show up again.Disappointed with the hair cut also. They didn’t do what I want, in-fact they convinced me that they did was correct.Wont recommend this place.

Jacqueline did a FANTASTIC job on my hair! I came in for a balayage, but was worried about what the result would be after using box dyes on my hair. I was not disappointed! My hair looked amazing when she was done! Jacqueline is very professional and walked me through the entire process of what she was doing and how I needed to maintain the color of my hair after the service. Highly recommend coming to Bishops!

Danielle is the only person allowed to touch my hair. Shes legit amazing and Im more than awed at how fantastic it looks every. single. time. I waited so long for one and their precautions felt very good. Me and my household (husband and roommate) traveled as a unit to get this done. We were the only ones in the shop apart from the stylists and seated at opposite ends of the large room. Masks were worn at all times, hand washing and temp checks and questions at the door. Social distancing was maintained at every interaction barring my specific stylist. I was happy with it. She also made sure to help me decide on a cut that would be long lasting so I wouldnt have to come back as often as I would in a non-pandemic world.

Francesca did a great job. On arrival I was offered a beer, which I would have accepted and very much enjoyed in a previous life. I arrived somewhat early and Francesca was able to and did step in to provide service right away. Im a pretty low key customer, which doesnt necessarily provide the easiest course of action, but she was able to figure out what I wanted (probably better than I could), and gave me a great haircut/beard trim. Totally professional and conscientious... thanks for the great cut!

Just thought of trying Bishops Cuts randomly, and guess what I just loved how Jacqueline styled and cut my hair... got a deep conditioning treatment and loved it... My hair felt smooth and silky... You dont walk in to a 40$ haircut shop and walk out with a 10$ great clips cut by an employee who clearly forgot to leave his issues at home.Paul was harsh, clumsy and EXTREMELY RUDE. He left me with an uneven haircut - long strands of hair along the edges, uneven sideburns, and shouted back saying dude! Im done with you! as I asked him to rectify the issues. He ripped off the sheet/apron and walked off and left hair all over my pants and in my shoes.Thankfully, the manager was around for all of this and made sure to apologize and compensate for the PATHETIC customer experience. Thats the only reason Im giving this place 2 stars.Please take some form of action against this employee. He shouldnt be cutting anyones hair.Future customers - do yourself a favor and avoid this person. The other employees are far nicer and professional.

Clearly shows on google and the front of their store they are open at 9am mon-fri. Showed up at 9am on Monday to get a quick cut before I leave for travel, waited until 9:45am, still nobody in sight.It’s too bad because they have cut my hair before and do a great job, everyone is super friendly, etc.Given a 1 star because if a business shows open at 9am, appointment or no appointment, someone should be in the shop.

I went in to get my hair colored to my natural warm dark brown shade after having balayage for some time. Unfortunately I left with black hair with no warmth left in it. I had friendly service but Im extremely disappointed with the fact that I didnt receive the service requested. Im upset that Ill now have to go in for an expensive color correction at another salon or just cut off all my hair and grow it back.

I went in for a haircut and left feeling ripped off. I had Paul cut my hair, and the cut was fine. The problem was not with Paul. It was that no one explained that at this place everything is a la carte. I expected that Id go in, have my hair washed with shampoo AND conditioner, have it cut, styled, and Id leave feeling pretty. Thats how every other salon / haircut place Ive gone has done it. So I didnt even think about it being different.Paul asked me if I wanted my hair washed, which set off initial warning signs for me considering I assumed that was always part of the process. He cleaned up my ends, and thats about it. He even told me he was drying my hair just so I didnt leave with a cold head. No product. No styling. No nothing. I was very confused by this. I got charged $55 for that and left wondering what whether it was Paul just not knowing how hair salons work or what. Im far too shy and quiet a person to really say anything, but I was NOT happy.I got home and did some looking on the internets only to find that Bishops is a chain. I hadnt heard of them and assumed this was a locally owned shop. Bishops does everything a la carte. Had someone explained this to me when I entered and / or clarified when I sat down, Id probably have been perfectly fine with it. It wasnt. The haircut was fine. Paul was fine. I just felt like I had been cheated because of my own expectations.So, just be aware of this. If you go here, youll be treated nicely. Your hair will be cut perfectly fine. However, a normal, all-inclusive salon it is not. Pay attention to the pricing.
